    150 pissed off customers.

Been standing at check in counter since 3:15 AM along with 150 other customers waiting to have our bags checked. Employees are 50 minutes late, disabled customers in literal pain (counter opens at 3 am. One woman was crying because of a surgery. No wheel chairs. Absolutely ridiculous. Get it together dude. Travel with an airline who cares. Alaska and spirit showed up on time, as well as every other airline company.

Kurt, thank you for your help! May your kindness be returned to you tenfold. Kaye and Tracy Flight #2795

Kurt was so helpful. My friend and I are traveling the PCT for the first time in Oregon. Kurt, having been a local, took the time to help us navigate. Thank you Kurt! Flight#2795

Let's travel the world together!! Southwest Airlines is there for ya

I love Southwest Airlines!!! Let's start with the prices! Southwest's ALWAYS having sales and promotions. I often fly on $60 dollar tickets plus you get to have 2 checked bags up to 50 lbs each for free play your two take on the plane items carry on and small personal item. Southwest flies to lots of different places at really affordable prices. Their customer service is spectacular!! I know that not every single CSA is the same but most of em are great people, make you feel welcome and are helpful when needed. Southwest at PDX is great, the kiosks makes my life so much easier, I get my boarding pass and check my bag in under 2 minutes!! It's all included and free of charge. It's money free and hustle free! Southwest Airlines thank you for always providing me with the best experience ever!! I do not have plans on flying anyone else.

INTRODUCTION: I've been flying in and out of Portland Oregon using Southwest Airlines for years. When compared to the other airlines this is always been my best bet. Today was not unlike any other experience. I was kind of shocked that I hadn't written a review for the airline yet and I was even more shocked when I saw the star rating that Southwest Airlines here in Portland has received. I didn't take the time to read anybody else's review because I don't want my reviewed to be tainted in anyway. I want my readers to have my raw experience as it happened. TRAVEL SPECIFICS: I got dropped off curbside and used the sky cap service to get my boarding passes and check three pieces of luggage, which included a hard shell bike case. CURBSIDE EXPERIENCE: The skycap that I was fortunate enough to have help me today is named Parish. I am pretty sure that he's helped me in the and I would like to know that this guy is at the top of his game. I always roll my things in front of their stand, opting not to drag it all through the line with me, mostly to NOT inconvenience others. When it was my turn Parish says to me don't worry about your stuff just leave it right there. He took care of my transaction and rolled me inside to get my bike inspected by the TSA official (Ronald). END GAME: I know I've dealt with a lot of skycaps and a lot of TSA and a lot of airports and I have to say that this is by far the best and smoothest. Definitely a pride of Portland. CYCLING MINDED: As a cyclist I like to see the tools that are available here for you to use to put your bike together, if you fly in with just a cardboard bike box that you are planning to recycle. I also like the fact that you can just take your bike and put it on the light rail system right at the airport and go all the way downtown or to Beaverton, Gresham... Heck, you can transfer to buses which have bike holders mounted to the front of them and go everywhere, which included major bus and train stations. I'm not sure if it was 2012 or 2014 when I was here and I learned that there were 81 bike-shop in the area... but the extra mile this city has gone is definitely recognized and having it designed to incorporate the airport, which for me means Southwest Airlines, is outstanding! I look forward to many more happy arrivals and departures with SWA at PDX. If a SWA official is reading this, take time to recognize Parish. The guy is A1. I even asked him to loan me ten bucks, which he did .... And I gave him twenty bucks on the spot, lol, as a tip.

Love southwest. Umm...party on a plane much? We traveled on Thanksgiving Day and if you read the fine print you'll see you get a free drank on this day. So what did we do? The peeps in my row ordered some beverages and we did our thang. The flight attendants were so sweet and walked up and own the aisles passing out snacks. No lame-o peanuts here people..I'm talking chips and cookies and all things yum when you are enjoying life in the skies. Before we knew it the flight was over. Man, that was fun. We should do it again. Don't worry about seats and bags and customer service. You're good.

SouthWest Concourse - Comfy! But I Can Do Without the Gate Switcheroos. SITREP Beautiful Airport in Portland, OR. Beautiful SouthWest concourse there as well. Lots of places to munch and drink. But.... GATE SWITCHEROOS ...this is the second time I've been to Portland, reported to the C gate on the boarding pass, and then both (1) received a text, and (2) a gate-agent direction to report to another gate, ONLY to have report back to the original gate on the boarding pass at the last minute with a profuse apology by the gate agent. [Luckily this last time the gates were next to each other.] So I'm a bit confused. Does the Southwest-ground not sync with the national Southwest center? BOARDING Anyways, the actual boarding process - once you realize which gate you should be focused on - goes off without a hitch, as we line up and board our flight to Sacramento. THE LOWDOWN All in all, a quick efficient process.

I'm an able bodied looking person and after deplaning, I asked the Alaska gate agent for wheelchair assistance. She said she would call for someone. 20 minutes later, one guy come but there are two of us that need wheelchairs. The guy stops at me first, but then goes to the less looking tabled body person and takes them. After another 20-30 minutes, I ask the Alaska gate agent to call again. Meanwhile I see several people pushing empty wheelchairs. The gate agent refuses to call again, saying she did twice. I asked if I'm just supposed to wait hours and she shrugged her shoulders. I was left in a hard place. Not only is walking long distances painful for me - but adding weight by carrying my luggage makes it harder. After getting myself together, I start the walk. I went to Alaska customer service. On the way I see at least 3 people with wheelchairs sitting and talking. The lead that comes up was rude. She said "I'm sorry you made it all the way up here with no wheelchair." If I didn't mind being on a do not fly list, I would have spoken up for myself, but instead, I left. Shame on you PDX and Alaska!

Spirit screwed up not just my wife's flight from Portland to Salt Lake City (cancelled due to weather, they said...an excuse they frequently use, because it is un-challengeable), and tried to rebook her more than half a day later. We declined, and got her a one-way ticket on another airline that was flying out immediately. We kept the return portion of the trip, as we didn't want any more additional hassle at the time. Oh, woe to us! When it was time to return, my wife's first flight was delayed long enough that her connector in Vegas had already left for Portland. So what did Spirit do to rectify the situation? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. No hotel or food voucher, no support...nothing. They left her alone, with a 5-month old child, to wait it out in the airport for 20...TWENTY...hours, for the next available flight to Portland (which was not true, as a cursory scan of bookings showed one leaving in the early AM, but who am I to do their jobs for them, right?). 20 hours to figure out how to navigate sleep for herself and our son, plus finding baby formula and other absolute necessities. Hell, she had to scream at them to get our stroller and car seat from them, as well as finding her bag practically abandoned, as the airline tried to sort out what to do with the sudden influx of other passengers (and their luggage) that they had just stranded for an entire day, at best. In summary: Spirit Airlines failed to get my wife to her destination, and then abandoned her with an infant for 20 hours, making no effort to mitigate the circumstances they themselves brought into being with their negligence, indifference, incompetence, and gross mismanagement. This company is criminal, and should have their operating license revoked. I will be filing a report with the BBB, the FAA, and any other institution I can, to inflict whatever harm I can upon them. They deserve all of our collective scorn, and none, NONE, of our business, ever.

Due to a glitch in their system, despite not issuing a ticket, Condor charged my credit card. Since this was a case where Condor never should have charged my credit card to begin with, I should not have to be responsible for an exchange rate difference resulting from Condor's error. Condor's customer service was very flippant about the issue and also refused to provide information to the credit card issuer after I filed a claim.

Also, Delta had removed some of their nonstop to Europe flights at the time including Amsterdam, and their alternatives were pretty bad, this was the best option. I was initially glad I discovered this airline. This was one of three legs I was traveling, 10.5 hours of fun on this leg alone lol. So prior to traveling, Condor switched my inbound flight. What they did was remove my flight all together and merge me into an existing flight that cost $40 less. I knew this because I had debated a long time if I wanted to pay $40 extra, or save money for an additional 2 hours to my existing 2 hour layover. I decided I would, and yet they refused to refund me for downgrading my flight when mine was removed from their itinerary! When I was on their website, a 50% off luggage coupon popped up. I screenshot it immediately before it went away. But there was no place to put a promo code for luggage online. So I called them. They said it can only be done in person. Guess what happened when I tried in person? They denied me saying it should have been done prior to arriving at the airport. I called Condor on the spot and they said it had to be in person, they heard this call but, said they could not. Yes they could. Instead of charging me $120 each way, charge me $60. It was so frustrating what they did to me! The food was not good, yet people all around me ate like this was the best meal ever! But apparently there are 2 more levels of food quality above the cheapest option, I didn't select those so I guess that's on me because I put saving over food quality. One of the flight attendants did something shady. I have the utmost respect and appreciation for flight staff, especially during the pandemic. But that doesn't make it OK to do what she did.... So as soon as I boarded, everyone went to seats that were not their own. This resulted in a dozen people all around me, with 3 seats to themselves. THREE! I on the other hand waited till everyone was seated to see what, if anything, was available. Everyone else that didn't have 3 seats, had 2 seats to themselves. Myself and the person next to me were the only 2 people who had NO extra seat. I asked one of the flight attendants if I may move to a particular open area in the back so I may lay down for this 10.5 hour flight. She said it was OK, it was the upper left back side of the cabin. As soon as I sat down, I got scolded and was made to go back to my seat by another FA who didn't care I was given permission, she said those seats were for them. There were 3 FA's in 2nd class, but she was protecting NINE seats in the back!? Nor do they all break at the same time. Halfway through the flight, I actually saw a passenger sprawled out in the back 3 middle seats that everyone knows is for the staffs personal belongings, which were there earlier. No one took issue with that, not sure how she managed that, but the 9 seats that normally aren't all for staff was somehow an issue. It was a long flight home for me my friends.... When I mentioned this to the airline, they just said I should have bought more seats. Yeah, because the 3 seat people all bought their extra seats....NOT! They even said, maybe they all bought that many seats. Yeah ummmm....No lol. I even spoke with 2 of them and they just boasted about their abilities to grab seats fast, these were not their assigned seats. The following year my parents used Condor for the exact same flight. My dad had paid an extra $120 each way for mom to be in the emergency exit. Well, coming back she didn't get it. They gave it to someone else and had assigned her ANOTHER tiny seat! They would not listen to my dad and later customer service also did not care, saying they only paid to select a seat, but not that particular seat. Not. True. The other seats were less expensive. They would never pay extra solely to choose a specific seat in 2nd class since they're all the same, if it was not an emergency seat with more leg room. Charging extra for choosing a seat in second class is such nickel and diming.

My wife, her mother, and I had the opportunity to take a direct roundtrip flight to/from Portland,…read moreOR from/to Los Angeles in May of 2026. It was the first time doing that for me, and it ended up being a good trip. Not proud of it, but have decided to chase status on Delta for the ability to fly Comfort whenever possible (those 3 extra inches of legroom makes a big difference, especially when the person in front reclines all the way), forsaking better deals on other airlines in some cases. Delta has made a lot of changes in the last couple of years, a big one being organizing its tickets into five main cabin classes: Main, Comfort, Premium Select, First, Delta One. Each one has a Classic or Extra sub-category, with the main difference being an Extra type ticket is fully refundable (whereas Classic will give a credit for future flight). The Main and Comfort class has a further sub-category: Basic. Basic (Main and Comfort) does not allow the selection of seats (often meaning one will sit in a middle seat, possibly away from your group), has a penalty for cancellation or change, and makes one ineligible for free upgrades. Furthermore, Main Basic also doesn't accrue loyalty rewards (miles nor MQDs), and most importantly for us, makes the ticketholder ineligible for Delta Sky Club access (even with an eligible card). I am Platinum this year, meaning that I can buy a Main Classic class for two people (including me) and then self upgrading to Comfort Classic for no additional cost. So when learning that Delta has 3 daily roundtrip flights (using one aircraft back and forth) between LAX and PDX, booked 2 separate reservations: one for two of us (including me) in Main Classic for $353. For the 3rd person, got a Main Basic for $273 ($80 per ticket difference). I figured I could sit in the back for a short flight, and was willing to take the risk of it being non-refundable. Because the flight in both directions were not full, the Main Basic seat ended up being a window (outbound) and an aisle (inbound), though one can't count on that. We flew back on a Saturday (least busy flying day of the week) so got upgraded to First Classic from Comfort Classic a couple days before the flight. Because the flight is under 2 hours, there was no meal service at all (including no premium snack cart, meaning not being able to use my AMEX snack benefit), though the First class flight attendant was very attentive, giving drinks (including alcoholic) as requested. Delta has a good video monitor system (though not Bluetooth enabled) at each seat, and changed to using YouTube music playlists, which I enjoyed on the short flight. The extra shoulder space is really useful, not having to worry so much about bumping into your seatmates space. Though I continue to be disappointed in the comfort of the seat itself...no lumbar support whatsoever. Delta is good (LAX and PDX airports at least) to have wheelchair assistance readily available, and we took full advantage for my mother-in-law.

First class was good service although the pillow was crumpled and dirty from what looked like the last person had stepped on it. The first class food actually looked and tasted good but both myself and friends got sick from food poisoning. The economy flight was terrible! It took over two hours just to get a drink of water. The flight attendants stood beside us after giving the guy next to us his ordered meal and 2 alcohol beverages, which does cost (nothing covered but water on an international flight) they stood there laughing and flirting with each other rather than tending to people so long, about 15+ minutes, that he finished everything he ordered before we even got water. Very inconsiderate and rude flight attendants! Also, forget storing bags under the seats as suggested because unless it's a small purse it's not fitting! The poor family in front of us with kids had to use the call button because they completely ignored that family and they waited 20+ minutes before anyone came. The toilets stopped flushing and there was no water in the bathrooms to wash your hands. I got home throwing up that first meal and felt terrible all night. Don't even get me started on how disorganized they are for boarding! It causes high stress for some as one woman snapped at us to get behind her in line when she was infact in the wrong line and when she was told that we were first class and she needed to move to the economy line she gave us a look of death. I don't know if that's just the way they roll in Iceland but I'll take Americans and Europeans any day over those attitudes!

Usually when I fly to Canada, it's a direct experience. When booking kinda sorta last minute, a…read morelayover in Seattle or Portland happens. And unfortunately it was a hot, hot mess at the Air Canada gates yesterday. Travel delays are totally normal and expected. I try not to freak out about it since it's beyond my span of control. It's also not as bad when the airline employees are transparent about the situation. However, when everyone working at the gate has no clue what's going on and tells you that much, it's a little concerning. As was the case yesterday with multiple delays as well as canceled flights, the attendant in uniform I spoke with told me straight up, "I don't know what's happening over here, ask him." (pointing to a man in a safety vest running interference with other customers). Ooookay. So that's how it's gonna be. Buckle up, Buttercup. It's going to be a bumpy ride! Even more concerning was the travelers whose flight was canceled not once, not twice, but three times over the span of 36 hours at PDX. They were telling their story to anyone who'd listen while we waited for our 2+ hour delay into Vancouver. At that point, they should've just rented a car and driven to Canada... it would've taken less time. Luckily I'm flying back to the States direct on United. No long layovers on the way home.

First air canada flight I ever took- window was literally coming out of the cabin wall (see picture…read morebelow) and I had to push it back in each time we hit any bumps. Then Air canada lost my luggage- I returned to the airport to pick it up and NO ONE WAS THERE though they said they would be. Phone line also wasn't working due to high call volume. General costumer service at the airport said I would have to wait another two hours till staff returned to speak with someone. Will not be flying with Air Canada again.
