Terrible customer service from the Denver airport. Two out of three flights this year have been cancelled on me. Most recently was due to lightning storms, which is understandable, but the gate staff were unprofessional, unprepared, and had passengers in and out of the boarding line three times. Once we were loaded on the plane, were asked to deplane to have our boarding passes rescanned as there was an error on their end. In the boarding line for the third time, standing in the rain on the tarmac, we were redirected back inside and the flight was cancelled. Had we taken off when we were all loaded we could have gotten off the ground before the next storm rolled in. We were then directed to a QR code on a poster for rebooking options. The website was down. Once I got onto the site, there were no rebooking options, only refunds. Thanks Frontier. I had to rebook with another airline at a higher cost and stay another night in Denver. I regret that I recently purchased their annual Discount Den program. I will not resubscribe to that as it doesn't buy anything in the way of customer service. read more

Oof. Where to begin. First of all, even if you paid for a carry on AND are group 1, you may still need to check it. Overhead storage is very limited. If you are group 2+, do not expect to store over head. This results in crazy lines for group 1. Both flights were delayed due to "mechanical issues". Flight staff are ... probably super stressed so they aren't... the nicest. I understand this is a budget airline but dang. We paid to ensure we both got aisle seats, but they bumped our seats for some traveling airline employees. Not cool. If you sit in the first row and are not group 1, you get screwed bc there is no place to store your bags for take off/ landing. Crew will not help you, you have to look around the plane for over head storage. Fly frontier at your own risk. Prepare for their stringent logistics. read more

After a one star experience flying to Portland, I was relieved to have a better experience flying back to SFO. Previously mentioned, I haven't flown frontier in seven years, but thought I would give it a try after seeing a round-trip nonstop flight between SFO and PDX for under $100. On the way to the airport, I received a notification that the flight was running 20 minutes behind. I'm glad they have a notification system and I was OK with 20 minutes as that's pretty reasonable, especially considering a two hour delay I had coming into PDX. After I got to the gate, I shortly the. saw the plane pull up and we boarded in alignment with the 20 minute delay, which was great. No further delays taking off and we were in the air. Wow smooth sailing! We landed 20 minutes late as expected and then frontier had their frontier moment - delays! We literally pulled up all the way to the gate and the captain announced that we would have to stay here for 15 minutes just on the plane. This had to do with another plane that was also arriving, but I had no idea why this was relevant to us as we were already pulled up to the gate ready to deplane. This is also after they triggered the seatbelt off sign and basically everyone had stood up, so everyone had to sit back down. Fortunately, it was only a true 15 minutes so in total, we were delayed about 35 minutes which historically isn't that bad with frontier I guess. We flew Frontier Airlines for the first time on 2/23/26. Sure, the initial price of the flight was affordable. That's just the initial price though....you want to carry on a bag, you will pay an additional $69.99-99.00!! AND when I went to check in for my flight I had to pay an additional $27 because they had no more economy seating available. No snacks or drinks were included on the flight, you had to purchase everything! So while the initial price was less expensive than Alaska or Delta, by the time I was done paying all the extra fees it was more expensive! read more

I made the huge mistake of booking a flight through a 3rd party, I.e., Expedia, etc, called CheapO. That's how I ended up flying on Frontier Airlines. So, for what was supposed to cost me $84.00 ended up costing $320.73!! What I found out after the fact was that Frontier charges for carry-on $69 both outbound and on the return. Plus they charged for my seat assignment both ways. A very little something to eat and a drink will be $20+. The plane itself rattled and shook like it was going to fall apart midair both ways and having owned a travel agency, think of myself as a pretty seasoned traveler! One checked bag that is between 40-50 pounds costs 150 dollars! If less than 40 lb. it is 75.00! My bag was 43 lb. and cost 150. to check! A carry would cost 69.00. If you use the agent at airport to tag your bag or to check in they charge another 25. for each service. None of their planes have charger sites for your phone so you better not board with low battery and expect to charge up on the plane! A small cup of soda on board is 4. or 4.50. Check in machines at airport were complicated so I stood in long line to ask question and if I had just checked in at the same time I'd be charged 25. just for that. Just not going to fly with them. They weren't upfront about the high extra costs. It seemed like they tried to trick more money out of you at every turn. read more

How do you go from bad to worse? This airline was okay. You could get a little help but not much, you used to be able to bring a normal size backpack with now problem. My first time flying with Frontier and will be my last. My bag got delayed on May 22,2025 on a flight from Portland to DC. My bag was left in Denver. By the time Frontier got it to me (6 days later) I was on the second part of my trip in Houston. I have put in a request for reimbursement and inconvenience with their customer service department and have not heard anything back. Your customer service department needs to be restrained. It's as if they don't care about the people who use your service. Your people are rude, condescending and act like they hate their job. Is it really that bad at Frontier? Yeah, never again. Luckily it was only a 2.5 hour flight to Arizona for me but Jeeze was it an eye opener. You have to pay extra for everything so you're better off just getting a better airline. It was hilarious because cause my girlfriend booked the tickets at the same time and on both flights we were not sat together, they wanted extra to pair us. Then on both flights she had no one sitting next to her! Wild. On our return flight they had the it listed "On-Time" on the internet and at the gate, they finally updated it 20-30 minutes after it was late. This is the absolute worst airline experience I have ever had. im amazed how tf frontier air stays in business with how awful their service is. Unlike other airlines, Frontier gives you a list of extra fees that you have to pay when checking in. I don't remember all of the little fees but it cost me an extra $114 to step on the plane. PDX(Portland to Phoenix) PHX. Round trip before the extra fees $396. Coming home I flew Hawaiian which was bought by Alaska, so it was an Alaskan Airlines plane, and then not one extra feet was charged. $114 on top of the $396 did not put me in the poor house, but it was the principal. read more

If you're flying Frontier, chances are you started a genocide in a previous life. At least one. Positive: cheap if you don't want frills. Negatives: in my three legs today, none left on time, their computers weren't working at one check in, another check in was really slow because they kept making people check the size of their personal item hoping to bust them to make more money. None of the flight attendants was great/friendly, all three legs had flight attendants complaining about other team members in the back loudly and for long periods of time. Sat on the tarmac for 20 minutes once, now sitting on another tarmac for supposedly 30 more minutes according to the captain. Overall, hoping to be only 2.5 hours late. I flied from PDX to Denver and to be honest I slept most of the flight. Amazing service, seats were looking new. Landing and take off were smooth. No turbulence or anything wrong. Would recommend to fly on this just make sure you dont sleep because I woke up halfway through my nap to a person in front of me snoring like loud to. My wife had to get from Portland, OR to Denver last minute so looking online via Expedia Frontier Airlines popped up. We never flew Frontier but decided to book a ticket. Fast forward to day of departure, get my wife to the Airport 2 hours before her flight and there's a long line at Frontier. Wife prints and tags her bags and has her electronic boarding pass but Frontier doesn't have a Bag Drop-Off line. Wife has to wait in line where Frontier has only three people working these check-ins and they are SLOW! Again, how is this Airline still in business? Frontier, update your check-in process, create a process like Alaska Airlines that provides its customers a bag drop-off area, you cheap fu$ks. Boycott Frontier!!!! I will take some responsibility and believe me I'm smashing my hand in the door for rushing into purchasing this ticket and not doing some due diligence, but NOW I KNOW that Frontier is the worst airline in the U.S. Statista.com published on August 21, 2023 that Frontier Airlines had the highest complaints in 2022. If I could give them zero stars I would do so. I booked last minute tickets with Frontier to see my daughter in Colorado. Hours before leaving my child was actively vomiting and I was unable to travel. No phone customer service available to talk with, so I went in the app and cancelled the flight. When I purchased the tickets I bought their cancelation protection. I filed a claim to get a credit that same day, via online system. They responded to my email days later and said I needed a signed letter. I uploaded the letter from the doctor. Frontier responded days later saying they were denying my request for a credit because an urgent care saw her and it wasn't a hospital. Flew from ABQ to PDX on Frontier Airlines yesterday. Flight was on time at 6:05 pm. Plane was there and people deplaned. Then, 15 guys in yellow vests surrounded the plane. NO INFORMATION WAS GIVEN TO THE PASSENGERS!! Instead of leaving at 6:20pm was did not board until 8:30pm. We were then told a bird flew into the plane. NO KIDDING! We all watched them cleaning the engines, checking around and more cleaning, while the luggage handlers were sitting in their carts, the luggage ramps open and ready to be unloaded. It was very STRESSFUL FOR EVERYONE! Including the poor bird! But, NO ANNOUNCEMENT was made! Disgusted at that! read more

This is not about at PDX. But I will never use this airline again. Yes, it was cheap but you have to pay for the carry on, $40 each, that add $80 for the round trip. No cancellation if you book brought kayak or one of those sites (which other airlines have at least 24 hours), and I called to add my TSA pre check number, they failed to do so, I had to go through the regular line. Luckily i has enough time and wasn't that long line. This is the good example of you get what you paid for (or get less...) my lesson to learn. One more thing to add. When I was boarding, I had to go to the counter to confirm if I paid for my carry on because their system didn't recognize it. They have to improve their system for sure. read more

I finally got someone on their chat system, and they suggested a credit. The credit can only be used for a future flight not for the checked bag purchase I intended to buy. The planes don't have seats that tilt, they charge for everything. and the Denver ground crew was about the rudest folks I have ever seen. I had 1 carry on bag that I had taken on the 3 previous flights and the Denver crew on my way home said that if I did not pay them 99 dollars for the same bag I had on the previous flights I was not being allowed on the plane. They removed myself, along with my service dog, claiming that her traveling case was not appropriate. This was 5 minutes after me overhearing they had double booked the flight. The result was my CPSTD being triggered in an exasperated manner. After I reminded them that my service dog was a service. Dog, they basically met me on the tarmac as I was leaving. They wanted to rebook my flight 24 hours later and made zero reference about the stroller they just packed under the plane. Even after explaining that I have no way to get from the airport back to where I was. Because I am homeless, exclaiming that i was going to report them. As a result, they "lost" my stroller for my service, animal, and 5 pairs of shoes that were inside of it after kicking me off. I have to do the rest of my trip through other airlines that had no issue with my service, animal, or what she was traveling in . . . I, however, had a really hard time navigating through the airport along with my trip. I am navigating back to the airport on my way home. And now navigate the homeless life with no stroller for my dog and 5 pairs of shoes missing from my life. I have been contacting them since June, and I still have no idea when they're going to replace my items. and I have no idea when they're going to address the fact about my service animal. They over charge for everything from sitting by the person your traveling with which cost me 130 dollars, carry on bags for what was supposed to be 69 so we check them for 60$ which they said was really 208$ for 2 bags that should have been carry ons, to the water and pretzels for a fee, to the people in from of us trying to check in before boarding and was told they were late (even though the had not even pre boarded yet) and they would have to catch another flight unless they paid another fee and get approval from her boss... SMH.. this is the worst dishonest airline I have ever taken and will never ever take again... my mom uses a Cain and they didn't even let her keep it with her.. they took it from her and put it above in storage... no other airline has ever done this to us.. They had her waiting in her wheelchair while they literally were taking out garbage in front of awaiting passengers instead of disinfecting the plane properly.
