BUT...it's so much more painful than when Rachila does it. You absolutely do take no accountability whatsoever and if anyone goes back to look at any of the other 1 star or 2 star reviews you will see exactly what I'm talking about. All those low rating reviews are 10000% TRUEEE!! When I said how things have turned unprofessional and unorganized I meant it in a way that you haven't provided the quality service the way your old employees did. Your old employees were GREATTT but the services you provided compared to them is complete opposite. And the part about you trying to say that I came in on a Saturday during closed hours is an ABSOLUTE LIE & total BS!! I literally told you word for word that I'm looking at the hours posted and it literally said y'all were still open. Despite me telling you that and that I can provide you with PROOF of the hours that I'm looking at, you still refused. I ALWAYS make sure to check the hours for ANY business before going like why the hell would I make a half an hour drive to a place if I wasn't sure whether or not it was open. I WOULDN'T! I didn't catch the attendants name but she was friendly and efficient. She quickly threaded my eyebrows and upper lip and instructed me on how to hold the skin. Afterwards, she took her time to make sure she didn't miss any little hairs and left my brows looking A1! read more

Huge chuck out of the bottom of my right brow is now missing. I have microblading and asked her to just clean up around the stencil marks (i.e. Minimal hair removal). I think she just did what she felt comfortable with or was stuck in her own routine as opposed to actually listening to my needs. Also I sat and watched as she did the two clients before me and she did not sanitize her hands. Because I saw the reviews and pictures of other girls breaking out, I simply asked that she use sanitizer before she started because I have sensitive skin. To which she told me "I always do." PS the sanitizer is the mini size - the one you stick in your purse. Like the REALLY mini size. Meanwhile the aloe vera is huge -- with a pump for easy dispensing. I suggest getting a big hand sanitizer as well. But that's just my two cents. This review is on the younger sister I think and not the owner. read more

Every time since the first time I came in, I've had the thin gal, usually with a ponytail. She's ok... but now that they've raise the eyebrow threading price to $15, she's totally not worth it. My most recent visit, I told her 6 times she missed hairs under the brow and in the middle (multiple times to go over the middle again) Unfortunate they're the only downtown threading service. read more

This place is hidden in the financial district in a smaller building converted into small studio spaces, their office is on the midlevel right to your right as you come up the stairs, as soon as you enter there are two chairs for threading and behind is a small spot for you to wait your turn. Great spot to get your eyebrows threaded. I always mention I want a fuller shape/simple cleanup and she does an amazing job. Also super reasonable especially if you check-in between 10-12. You can pay with cash or card and she has a rewards program so you can get your 10th eyebrow threading free. I usually text her before heading over to ensure she is around and available. I love this place!! It is super convenient to have this location in the Financial District. I often go on my lunch break or when I have some time in between meetings and I need to go about every 2 and half weeks. Both Rashila and Roshani are masters of threading. I always leave feeling so much better about my eyebrows. It also helps that they are very friendly, and pretty gentle as far as threading goes. I dropped in today on my lunch to get my eye brows cleaned up. One customer was getting her eye brows threaded and two were waiting in the hall for their turn. While I was waiting, other girls came through and got in line behind me (my arrival time was about 1:50pm). This is a popular spot with drop ins available. The quoted time for the wait was longer than the actual wait - I think I was only there 20 minutes total including my own service. This is a booth location near lots of other salon stalls... not an issue i just wasn't expecting it. The space is clean and the person who did my eyebrows was professional. They went WAYYY thinner than people who thread normally go. The shape of my brows is nice but I feel like a hairless cat. I wish I would have told her prefer a more natural look now my hair will take months to grow back ... regardless it was a pleasant clean experience just make sure to be very clear on what you want. read more

Hit or miss. Service offered is not consistently good. I had been going there for approximately one year, but lately I've decided to look elsewhere. The owner seems to get flustered if she has a few clients waiting, so she rushed through my service. On a couple of occasions, she cut my skin while threading my upper lip. About two years ago, I went to get my eyebrows threaded in Berkeley (Rupa's) and had a nice experience there. Yesterday, my sister and I wanted to treat ourselves to getting our eyebrows threaded and I was very excited because it had been so long since I had gotten my eyebrows done and they were pretty full. My sister looked up Sovan and since it had all the great reviews and many photos to attest to its practices, we decided to give it a try and it was a plus that there was a Groupon for this place. Hindsight is 20/20. I went first, my sister second. The woman threading my sister's eyebrows asked her how she would like her eyebrows, if she liked the shape, etc. At that moment (halfway done), I realized the woman threading my eyebrows (the owner...) had not asked/consulted before starting to thread mine, and I worried a bit, but part of me wanted to believe she would not mess it up (since she is a professional that does this everyday and my eyebrows were full enough to work on and give some wiggle room). Then, she said she was done. I looked in the mirror and saw a ghost of my eyebrows from when I overplucked them as a thirteen-year-old. Sigh. I haven't needed to fill in my eyebrows in many, many, many, many years... I will need to fill them in until they grow twice the size. You know those rag dolls that have yarn eyebrows? They look like long pieces of thin yarn, sad thin yarn... I just cannot understand why the woman threading my eyebrows felt the need to completely thin out my eyebrows. Like, there was absolutely no need to cut my eyebrows in half (literally, horizontally in half). My eyebrows have a natural arch. That's gone. My brow bones are extra exposed (not flattering on me), and to top it all off, my right eyebrow is a bit thinner than my left one. Really?? I felt upset but kept my cool. Arguing does not fix anything, or make eyebrows grow back magically. So, I showed her the Groupon and patiently waited for my sister. Her eyebrows were left thick, but they were not shaped much (just cleaned up a bit). Thankfully the woman threading hers was careful to not make them look like she shaved off the bottom half of them. I've never been to a worse threading place...the first time I went in the threader BUTCHERED my eyebrows. Sovan's is right by work and I wanted to love it due to convenience, so I decided to give it a second chance. I called ahead to make sure the threader from before wasn't there, she wasn't so I thought ok let me try again. I went in and upon finding out the owner was my threader, I shared my experience with her about how bad my first experience was. She offered me an apology but no sort of discount or anything. I left kind of put off given that service customer. I went in a third time and this last time was it for me, the owner rushed through my threading and left many un-threaded spots. I have had my eyebrows threaded for like 10 years or so now or maybe even more. Don't really track it. And i have gone several months occasionally between getting them threaded by just tweezing and cleaning up on my own. And I have gone to a few different places in different cities or countries and used a groupon ever so often. Oh boy was this painful though. SLOPPY!!!! Rashila lacks attention to detail, she's rough, and she rushes. I started going to her a couple years back when she first came on board to this building. I was very specific in the beginning with what she needed to do then just started to tell her to clean up at subsequent visits. simple and straight forward yes? over the next few months, my eyebrows became lines and very uneven ones I might add!!! Mind you I have thick used to connect and be a unibrow eyebrows so while they are not uni- now, they are thick but I like them cleaned and shaped as natural as possible. I stopped going to her ultimately was so upset and disappointed I had to grow them out so then I just started to do them myself and eventually ventured out to another threader in the area. Fast forward a year, I needed my face threaded and thought well she can't mess that up. Will you believe it she DID!! I went for face cleaning and specifically told her do not touch my sideburns. why she took out my left side burn is beyond me. her apology lacked empathy and sympathy and even if it hadn't what good would that do me. now i have 1 sideburn. NEVER returning she is not a good threader if you have experience with solid threaders and have a strong comparable, then you know she needs improvement big time. read more

Sovan's is the best place to get your brows did last minute and know you are going to come out with brows fit for Bey herself. She's super quick and has a keen eye for shaping your brows. Only downside is that she gets super busy with the after work and lunch crowd so she just gets straight to it. If you want to get into it about the shape of your brow, where you're trying to grow them out, etc, etc this place probably doesn't have time for that.
