And honestly, that's the beauty of the barrio. There are culinary diamonds all over Los Angeles -- you just have to give them a chance and be willing to try somewhere new. I've since returned with my boyfriend, and the food has never disappointed. For a little personal context, I'm half Argentinian and half Mexican.
