SP Motorsports is an incredible part of the Porsche community in the Bay Area. I recently purchased a current generation Porsche sports car and struggled to find expertise at my local shops. Most independent shops have never worked on the new generation of car so knew very little about it. I was then referred to SP Motorsports which then discovered the people here knew everything about the car, every aftermarket product available, and excruciatingly minor details. The people here have more expertise than the dealers on Porsche sports cars. I will say the price you pay here will be on the higher side, but after some conversation, I understand the reason. They have done so much work on these cars that they can predict all of the minor things that can go wrong with aftermarket modifications. They spend a lot of time testing and ensuring that modifications performed will not see issues later on and hence will put in the extra labor time to guarantee that the work is proper. As good as the work is here, there is a fun sense of community as well. On any given day you may meet other Porsche enthusiasts in the lounge area who are excited to chat about cars as much as you. There are 3 options for Porsche owners: Dealer, garage with the word "porsche" in it and true independent-fanatic shops that specialize in Porsche. Skip the first two. SP is a family of gear heads that eat, think and breath Porsche. If you value your car - be it an oil change or a full track setup - go to these guys. They know all the platforms, understand racing dynamics and most importantly want you to be happy. I've done a lot of arrive and drive programs, here in the US and Europe and their program is top notch. You pick your car, arrive at the track and go! Coaching is provided which has helped me immensely since i was rusty after taking 20 years off. Chasen and his team did an amazing job on my 19 GT3RS. Upon receiving my car and i took it out for a ride. I felt the vehicle is totally different than the way it was before. With better turn angle, smoother ride comfortability and i am able to push this car to it's limit. I bought a used 911 from Indiana, unseen. I had SP Motorsports do an inspection to ensure nothing is amiss and requested to identify any cosmetic damages that needed fixing. a/ Their inspection report came clean with no damage to the car b/ We noticed that some of the parts were hand painted to convert from matt black to body painted color I requested SP to fix this hand painting and restore the car to original. Once they started work they found more damage to the bumper which was quite surprising as that was the point of inspection. Regardless, I agreed to pay more to fix he car as long as it was made new. The work done by this shop or the paint shop they used was abysmal. There is still orange peel on the existing parts as well as on the new parts that I got painted. On top of that there is paint damage to the bumper due to unprofessional buffing. I should have known better to not get paint job done by a performance tuning shop. read more

I bought my 911.1 GT3 in July of 2020. I couldn't have been happier running into SP Motorsports on my first track day with my new GT3. They were happy enough to treat my car like their own and gave me a free post-track inspection. Finding lots of small issues from the previous owner and coming up with a reasonable estimate. For any track or modification work needed SP was there to do the job with 100% satisfaction. The car handles great and always gets its oil changed here. read more

**Only giving this a one star because I have to** please advise if you are someone who is looking for the best care for your Porsche stay CLEAR of this place. Not only did they not fix the problem, but they charged us- almost 1,000$ for literally nothing. Seriously NOTHING. Not one thing was fixed. We went and CLEARLY stated we wanted to fix the parking sensor. Our main issue was the parking sensor; that's it. Chasen who is the owner btw was QUICK to send us invoices on things we didn't ask for but not responsive when we would ask follow up questions. Every phone call we had with him about the car he went around the question. He expressed that he would put a new parking sensor but we also needed a wire fixed and granted we understood WHY the wire needed to be fixed so we agreed-INITIALLY. He then sent an invoice for about 900-ish dollars we agreed because we knew both the sensor and some wire that had to do with the sensor needed to be fixed. Literally as he's working on it he sends this new invoice for things we did not ASK to be looked at or "fixed" which ultimately added and ADDITIONAL almost 5,000$!! We got on the phone with him and mind you the conversation he had with my husband was NOT the same one he had with me. Chasen made it a point to make sure he spoke to me AS IF I didn't know anything. (Talk about living up to the discrimination women feel going into body shops) he laughed at me and made fun of me when I asked him questions. I had to ask him to explain why he was adding additional charges, to which he brushed me off and went around the question. So ultimately he said he would add the new parking sensor (BUT IT WAS NOT GOING TO WORK) and if we wanted it to work we needed to pay the additional almost 5000$. So you're telling me... we're paying you almost 1000$ for what exactly??? A parking sensor that STILL DOESNT WORK, but it's NEW??? His calculations didn't make sense. He kept changing the total, and his customer service skills need a LOT of work. I shouldn't have to feel belittled by a dude in a body shop because I'm asking questions about things HE is an "expert" on apparently? Trust me the only thing this guy cares about is what kind of Porsche you drive, what year and how well off you LOOK. It's very obvious. From one Porsche owner to another IF you're looking for a place to go PLZ stay away. You'll regret it. read more

I bought a 991.1 GT3 with little knowledge about the car outside of the marketing ads and rennlist forum chatter about the car itself. SP Motorsports took it upon themselves to educate me about this cars quirks, mannerisms and the plethora of methods for me to enjoy it to it's fullest potential. The shop specializes in track prepping cars as well as the maintenance that comes along with that. I've decided to have them be my go-to shop for maintenance because at affordable prices, who wouldn't want race car specialists to perform the maintenance work on a street-legal race car used for the track or for daily driving? I was searching the web for independent Porsche shops when I discovered SP Motorsports. I was interested in exhaust options for my Carrera S and decided to contact the shop. Chasen responded quickly and we discussed in detail what I was looking for in an aftermarket exhaust. After discussing several manufacturers, we settled on Cargraphic. I am very happy with the outcome and the quality of their work. I noticed their attention to detail when I saw they had even grease pen marked all the nuts and bolts! I was happy to bring my car back two weeks later and get some suspension work done. Once again they were very detailed and thorough, even taking time to clean all my old suspension parts before reinstalling! I would like to give a big thanks to the team for the great work!
