Believe me, I've tried and searched all over, even here on yelp. My job relocated from Manhattan to the Jersey side for 5 months now and I've gone to a dozen local nail salons - but my mani only lasts 6-7 days from everywhere else. My polish from Rehoboth stays in tact for AT LEAST two weeks - mostly more than 15 days. Worth it times a million. Discovered them in 2003 and regret it every time I go somewhere else. Beware! If you''ve never been here and you go in and ask for "a manicure" or "a pedicure", they will rip you off and automatically give you the highest priced one! They charged my friend $95 BEFORE TIP for a pedicure as a new customer, whereas a girl came in next to him and asked for "a regular pedicure" and only paid $20. Likewise, they charged me $73 before tip for a manicure and 30-minute chair massage. These two services usually cost less than $45 at other salons. read more

I've spent some time after having one of the worst experiences at this salon before writing this review. I was a walk in and went in right before I was going to take a business trip to get a pedicure and a manicure. I was going to try to grow out my gel manicure because I'd known I'd done gel too many times back to back and my nails were fairly fragile. I walk in right after another girl and they rush me to a pedicure chair before I had a chance to explain that I needed my nails soaked because I had gel because they thought we were together. They didn't ask either of us if we were together and didn't listen when I tried to explain what I needed so I figured ok, they are going to do my toes first and then we'll get to my nails. The pedicure wasn't bad. Once the lady was about to start painting my toes she asked me about a manicure and I said, yeah, I have gel that needs to be soaked off. She was immediately frustrated with me for not saying something sooner. Um, ok...I wasn't given a chance to. So she calls over the assistant to start the soak off. Then she starts getting really annoyed that I have Japanese gel because "it takes longer to soak off". I guess she wanted to leave as soon as she was done with me. We move to a manicure chair and she rather aggressively starts trying to get my gel off when it still needed to soak for a bit. She makes my nails ultra thin she's so aggressive. Then she decides to start cutting them before the gel has come off after I complain. She totally cuts my nail off too short and makes me bleed. I'm SUPER frustrated at this point and I'm ready to start ripping the foil off to leave and she calls the manager over. The manager tells me that she'll take over and personally finish my nails and gets the bleeding to stop. She also says we need longer to soak off my gel. Ok, I'm not in a hurry really, but I also don't feel comfortable at this point. The manager is then super passive aggressive and asks me why I got Japanese gel and not color gel from them. Hi, because I wanted to? Why is it any of your business?! I was only in your salon because it's right next to my gym and I feel like you are all treating me like garbage so I just want to get this done and get out of there. She also tells me "why don't I get one of my guys over here to give you a chair massage so you can relax a bit?" I'm thinking, ok, that sounds like a fairly good idea because I'm super annoyed at the lack of service and a massage to make up for it might be nice. While I'm getting massaged, my nails start being worked on again. After the guy finishes his timed massage, I look up and it's yet another nail tech. The manager has walked away and is NOT finishing my manicure after all. This tech cuts my cuticles so that they bleed twice (so I've bled 3 times at this salon). At this point I tell the nail tech to just paint my nails with clear polish because I need to go. Icing on the cake, I get my bill and I'm charged full price for the massage. So the manager, who made it sound like I was getting a massage to make up for the bleeding and the damaged nails and the general treatment by her staff, conned me into buying a massage that I didn't even really want plus I paid for the pedicure, manicure, and gel removal. Anyway, I paid, I tipped, and I was treated like absolute trash. I will NEVER be coming back to this salon and I strongly recommend that you take your business elsewhere too. read more

I have been to Spa de Rehoboth twice now since their reopening and since the pandemic. They are AMAZING and their services OUTSTANDING. I have had two different manicurists for gel manicures and pedicures, each exceptional. I haven't had or known a good salon for years but I finally have found one that I won't leave. I go here regularly for a walk-in eyebrow wax. I always get seen immediately, and the session is always quick but gets the job done perfectly. Plus it's only $13 + tip! Bargain. A big plus about Rehoboth is how clean the mani/pedi tools are. There are too many stories on the news these days about people getting hepatitis and other nasty infections from nail salons, so I no longer walk into random salons on a whim to get my nails done. I don't worry about that here though. The manicurists are hit or miss. I've had fantastic manis/pedis here before that have been meticulous and long lasting. I've also had a mani done here where the nail polish was slapped on so sloppily that it bubbled and wrinkled even before it dried (the lady in charge at the front desk was understanding, she wiped it off and gave me a quick redo herself). Not crazy about the 2 guys in white scrubs that sneak up on you while your nails are getting done and give you the quick free shoulder massage, although apparently the other reviewers love it. The drying stations have a rack of new magazines next to it, which is nice bonus (a salon I used to go to had the same 2003 issues of Vogue sitting there every time I went). read more

The salon was very large and could accommodate many customers at one time. I was getting a manicure and a guy came up and started to massage my shoulders. He quickly asked if he could bring over a massage chair and give me a massage. When I said no he walked away. He could have given me a free massage for 10 minutes like the other salons do. I have to admit, I might be biased because I live upstairs from this place, so it's insanely convenient, but I'm a perfectionist about my nail salons (friends hate to go with me because I'm always complaining) and this place is very good. It's usually quiet, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the services are great. Their one downfall is not being amazing at removing gels - usually there's basecoat residue left over on my nails when they're done. I was helped right away, and my technician, I believe her name was May (but she spelled it Maie?) was fantastic. She was friendly and not too chatty. They asked if I wanted a massage (after giving me a quick back massage) but didn't pressure me when I said no. If I would have had time, I may have gotten the massage that day, because the mini-massage they gave me was heavenly. The manicure came out great, lasted a long time, and overall was inexpensive. I read up about this place during Spa Week in NYC and got the deep tissue massage. So I was more comfortable with a female masseuse and had specifically requested for one when I made the appointment a week in advance but when we got there, we were told that I'd have to wait a long time so if I was comfortable with a male masseuse, they could start right away. That was a little odd and I took up on the offer only due to lack of time. However, Andy gave me the deep tissue massage and he was absolutely divine. I've been going to Spa de Rehoboth for a few years, but at their former locations. The new location is absolutely stunning - very clean and modern. I always feel very relaxed. The protective measures put in place for Covid also make me feel very safe and confident during this period of time. Staff have masks and face shields and individual mani/pedi stations are separated with barriers. You are also screened upon arrival with questions and a temperature check. I've enjoyed manicures, pedicures and massages and am always impressed by the service here. As someone who is passionate about fitness and weightlifting, I particularly enjoy the chair massages that help with stiffness and tightness in the neck, shoulders and upper/low back. The massages help with tension headaches as well. Leo is my go-to massage therapist and is amazing! I have tried other massage therapists but his skill is truly unmatched. This place has a $20 min for credit cards (why??). There is no explanation other than the fact that they would rather be running a cash business. if you're not walking around with cash you're welcome to use their ATM, for a fee of course from their machine and your bank. When i inquired about the fee, and the reason for it, there was no response other than them telling me i could purchase more services. with so many other great nail spots around, i would strongly recommend going somewhere else. After getting a few manicures around the area, I have finally found my place. Jenny was fantastic! Not only did she do an amazing job, but she did my nails quick too. She was also one of the most friendly people and made an effort to talk to me rather than silently do my nails looking miserable. Another thing I love about here is that it's clean. They give you your nail file at the end and all metal tools are sanitized where you can see them. Made me feel much more comfortable, even if it was a little more money than the other salons. I felt compelled to write this review because I just left this spa feeling completely renewed. It was by chance i walked by and decided to go for a facial. The service was so lovely & welcoming. The atmosphere immediately made me feel like I was at a relaxing retreat. I got a facial from Cindy and when i tell you my expectations were exceeded by her facial i'm putting it lightly. I have very sensitive congested skin but she assessed my skin and treated it exactly how I needed. She was so gentle & thorough. I would except that a facial of this level would be hundreds of dollars. it was only $140!!! she massaged my entire body & extracted every pore. AVOID THIS NAIL SALON! I strongly advise to NOT come to Spa de Rehoboth! I personally took the time to write a review on Spa de Rehoboth because I feel it is 100% necessary to let others know of this overpriced, rip-off nail salon. I also can completely support the previous reviews that prices here are insane. My friend and I went here for French tip gel pedicures. We made sure to clarify that we wanted the BASE pedicure, as the first pedicure on their laminated pedicure handout was $71. When we asked the price of the service, we were told $45 for the base pedicure PLUS $10 for the French/gel pedicure. This $55 was clarified by my friend and I as we were in the pedicure chairs. We even mentioned how the price was typically more than a normal pedicure, but we wanted to go forward with the French/gel pedicure for a holiday treat. Let me clarify again - this was the base pedicure, no callus removal, tips, or additional foot massage. After our ONE service we went to pay and the total was $89 per person! The woman who previously clarified the cost prior to the service told us the cost of the pedicure was $45 + $30 for gel + $10 for the French + tax. We thought this was a mistake, but they were insistent this is what they told us. The manager ended up charging us $81 after a back and forth argument. Let me emphasize - if I knew the gel French pedicure was $81/$89 without tip, I would have NEVER agreed to it. For the past 3 years, I have religiously gone to a different nail salon on the upper east side for a SNS powder dip manicure and a 10-minute massage for a total of $59 plus tip. I am well aware of NYC nail prices and still appalled on the SCAM going on at this nail salon. They fully took advantage of two girls having a nail day together, and I have never been so disgusted by a nail salon. Save yourself your money and time and do not come to Spa de Rehoboth. I will be sure to post this review on every platform to be sure others are aware of the way they handle their business and overcharge customers. I rarely write reviews but I was very upset after this experience. I walked in for a manicure and they were very accommodating. After discussing my options, I decided to go w a gel manicure. I was satisfied with the service until the bill came. A standard gel manicure should not exceed $39. I was slapped with a $49 bill!!!!!! I had no choice but to pay and I also tipped the appropriate amount. My frustration is exceeded since it's been only 3 days since my gel manicure and it's already chipping!!! I always get a gel manicure, but having chips so quickly is a first! Especially after being charged an outrageous amount. I recently came in here for a facial & spa pedicure. I had been there several times in the past and always received decent service. This time around was absolutely miserable. The worst spa pedicure & facial I have ever received. The person working on my feet seemed like it was a horrible task rather than her job which resulted in a terrible experience. The facial was doomed from the moment I stepped into that back room. The ceiling had visible leaking & the bed was not comfortable at all. High prices - beyond AWFUL service. Came here to get my nails done. For the prices they charge, I thought id get a great quality manicure with great service. Wow was I wrong. I got a terrible gel manicure by some lady who of course spoke zero English. I kept telling her not to file my nails - she completely ignored the request, eventho someone translated it to her. I also asked if I could get a fan to ventilate some of the smells (I'm pregnant), they wouldn't give me one. I then asked for a mask (the kind they all wear). They said they had no more, which was a lie because when I pressed the issue, they miraculously found one. Awful. Who does that? ESP to a pregnant customer. I didn't even finish my manicure. Absolute WASTE of money. Came here for a mani pedi and ended up leaving $60 poorer (no the mani was not gel). The prices are absolutely ridiculous for the mediocre services the provide. I mad the mistake of wearing sneakers but I have done that plenty of times before to other salons (which were A LOT cheaper btw) and my nails never got ruined from it. The good, the bad..the verdict. Here I go messing around with these downtown nail spas again My sister and I went on a date here. Friendly service...in the beginning. Oh what color? what service? oh lets choose together! Allright, im hype! Lets go! I got the milk pedicure and she got the green tea I believe. We both had manicures as well.. She had gel on her hands, I got gel on my toes. I also opted for a massage. I personally loved the level of detail of the services provided. (ie; hot towels, massage on a regular) Gel Polish was super cute. I loved the way they helped with the recommendations Oh my...Did we come too late? Why is this lady rushing? I had to remind ther... What about the cuticle push? C'mon lady cut the skin! Moisturize after you use that pumice unless it will be hard again. I am dry. I need OIL baby. And for $80 bux, I want you to remember that during my pedicure. (I gently reminder her)... "oh" she exclaimed...now Im thinking... how lazy. The manicurist did my manicure in the chair while I was pedicuring. Again I liked the detail of the service, but, no water was used and barely a towel, quick quick wiping and pushing...I asked for buff and shine. I personally hate polish (especially clear) Honestly - I wish these operators learn to communicate in English....fluently. The massage guy I was assigned to didnt under stand much. I found this out the hard way. I said to him I like it "hard", meaning "deep" and "strong" to get out the kinks... why did I say that...oh my did he go super hard. Not only was he applying too much pressure, he obviously knew nothing about giving a massage. At no time did he message my pressure points and or know how to work on tension. He just was going hard on wherever, rubbing oils and pushing HARD! I kept trying to explain, but got so frustrated and just laid on the table in agony wishing it would be over. At one point, I wanted to lay him on the table and say, "let me show you" Upon my exit of the massage room. The manicure girl was waiting with my bill shoving it in my face. Im thinking damn, "can I talk to my sister first". She was sitting waiting on her nails to dry. I wanted to discuss with her how we wanted to pay etc. I had to literally "excuse" the operator. "miss, may we have a moment please"....im really thinking, how rude is she....she was standing in my path then after that wanted to stand in the middle my conversation. Honestly, I dont think she realized that my sister and I were together. (she is biracial) so whatever, but I would have preferred if she just handed me the bill and went away. To top it all off...the operators were hoarding us, after running the tickets and providing the tip envelopes. GEEZ, I had to tell the lady - "excuse me" again while im writing my receipt. She was literraly standing over me watching what I wrote. She then told me who envelope was for who..how tacky... The verdict: nice ambiance and branding, however - I do believe you will be just fine with a regular pedi. As a matter of fact, you may be better off traveling uptown to 132nd and Frederick Douglass to see my friend TY...The bad thing about there is that you should invest in your own nail kits to have them work with. They dont clean and sanitize enough for me.....anyway its $17 and TY is REALLY into feet and gets the job done. The massage....get the chair! People seem to like that...its not worth the $ to go in the room on the table because you are not working with a professional masseuse. The manicure...maybe I should try it - at the table..maybe I missed something. I just felt like my hands werent clean when I finished. But my nails were nice! Very professional buff and shine! I usually go to Dashing Diva (I'm a germaphobe) but I tried Rehobooth today because I wanted to try the new OPI Axxium gel polish. I got a pedicure as well. I treated myself to spa pedicure, which had a particularly long (but not particularly great) massage included. Pros: *They carry OPI Axxium gel polish. It is hard to find a place that has this stuff. *Meticulous painting of nails. *A nice menu of many choices of manis and pedis. *An attractive place, nice and airy, with tons of mani and pedi stations so there is never a wait. The place smells nice and clean, not like acrylic and chemicals. *The products they use smell great. *VERY comfortable massage chairs. Even if you aren't into the massage features, they are very comfy and easy to get in and out of . They are adjustable, so if you are petite like me, you are never uncomfortable. *Little touches, like a warm towel for the back of your neck, a mini neck massage while nails dry, little bottles of water, up to date magazines. Very nice. Cons: *The jury is out on the OPI Axxium gel polish (I'll update as I see how it wears, and how easy it is to remove. It is supposed to last 2-3 weeks and it is supposed to soak off without filing, no damage). However, a major con is the serious lack of color selection for this gel polish. According to the OPI website, there are a lot more colors. Hopefully if this stuff catches on Rehoboth will stock more colors. *The staff is chatty. Some people like this friendliness, but since my tech spoke very limited English and had a very strong accent, it was hard to understand her, plus, I find small talk annoying, I'd rather read to be honest. *Some tools are sterilized (taken from sealed pouches), but files and buffers did not look disposable, and I'm uncertain of the cleanliness of the callus scrubbers. They use whirlpool baths, which feel wonderful, but have been known to harbor germs. This may keep me from coming back. I would gladly pay an extra buck for a fresh disposable file. * Callus removal could be a lot more thorough considering that I got the upgraded pedi. I keep up with my feet, but if you have serious calluses you might need more scrubbing. *Foot massage could more muscle, but to be fair, it is rare that you get a really great foot massage during a pedi (which is why I love Sita at the Madison Avenue Dashing Diva, she is amazing!) read more
