I went here for a facial as a walk-in, had a really good experience, and I have already made another appointment for a Swedish massage next week. First let me say that I had never had a professional facial before, although I am quite well-versed in beauty magazines and have given myself facials since I was about 11. Nevertheless, I did not quite know what to expect. I was serviced by Sunny, who had a very polite demeanor, and who was very patient in answering my questions ("What is an 'extraction?' ," "What are you doing now?") I asked for an express facial, but after an initial consultation, Sunny explained a few things about what a European facial entails and I decided to spend the extra $30. I found it very relaxing and soothing, all the products she used smelled great and left my skin feeling and looking great, and I especially liked the little upper-body massage at the end. She tried to sell me a couple of products, but wasn't pushy when I declined, and let me take a bunch of free samples. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the cheesy decor and boring elevator music they were playing. read more

Rehoboth grew from a nice, clean, spacious nail salon that also offered the occasional massage into what it is now--a defacto spa, twice its original size, that employs nail technicians, aestheticians, massage therapists, and waxing technicians. The manicures here are now $14, about $2-3 more than the going midtown rate, but it's worth it. Pedicures are also a little more expensive, but with so many incredible options that range from the basic to all kinds of interesting pamperings (cucumber/green tea; parafin; exfoliation pedicure) without the pressure of a more formal spa experience, Rehoboth can't be beat. Your $14 manicure comes with a lovely hand and arm massage that's beyond the perfunctory 30-second rub you'll get at most places. A massage therapist will rub your shoulders and back WHILE your nail technician rubs your arms and hands. Good stuff. The place is strikingly clean, well-lit, spacious, and clearly a cut above most walk-in nail salons. As such, Rehoboth employs it's own little niche: better than nail salon, not quite spa, but with elements of both. Which also makes splurge spa-ing a risk, especially if appointments are available. There are gazillions of nail colors available (perhaps more than anywhere I've been), and manis and pedis are very customizable (add $5 for callous treatment, or have your chair massage done WHILE you get manicured, etc.). My manicurist, a Tibetan refugee (yes, she considered herself a political refugee), praised the owners as being kind and humane, offering a shorter work day than most nail salons, providing the technicians with home-cooked meals everyday ("rice and whatever the lady cooks"), and better pay. Good services, cleanliness, excellent selection of treatments, going that extra inch to really take care of the client AND good owners who treat their employees well...what's not to love? read more

Came here a couple of weeks ago right before going on vacation. Needed a pedi very badly, and got a great one for WAAAY less than what I pay on the UWS. I think I paid $60 (plus tip) for a spa pedicure with callus removal and the whole nine yards. Normally for all this service, I have to shell out $75-90 depending on the place, so coming here was a great savings! Lots of colors to choose from, clean space - it's HUGE! I came here on a Thursday at around 7-ish. They were busy, but still had plenty of space to accommodate me. They are very meticulous here, and take their time to get things done right. It's almost a month later, and my feet are still feeling fabulous and the polish is still perfect! While I know this place isn't dirt cheap, you definitely get what you pay for. I don't do pedis that often (I usually do my own), but when I want to splurge and get a treat, it's nice to know there's another place to go that provides the good quality stuff and won't charge me an arm and a leg...just a couple fingers and toes - polished, of course! read more

In general, it was pretty good...more like ALRIGHT. I wouldn't call it a SPA LOUNGE though...there isn't even a place to "lounge," as they have in most nice spas. So the name kind of confused me, I guess. It just offers services, so if you're looking to spend a day at the spa, I would not choose this place. You might want to try somewhere more upscale. The massage was great, it was much more deep tissue than swedish. The aromatherapy oils they had me choose from were very limited, and they all smelled sort of strange (in a bad way). I also had a European facial, even though I had SPECIFICALLY asked for an express facial. So the fact that the facial specialist didn't explain this really pissed me off. I'm not sure if it's because of her thick korean accent, and I just didn't understand, or the fact that she was trying to overcharge me on purpse. When I brought it up at the cashier, the manager just IGNORED me, and the facial lady just told me "oh...don't get mad." I'm a strong believer in good service. So, even though actual facial and massage was pretty good, the lack of professionalism was frustrating. I'm still annoyed by it, but what can you do. I was able to sneak out on my lunch break for my 1:15 appointment at Rehoboth. Joy did an engagement-worthy job on my nails, seriously, I could be proposed to with this manicure. The place was basically empty and so quiet and peaceful that I almost forgot I was in Manhattan on a Tuesday. I also got an increeedible 2 minutes massage while getting my nails done. If I had more time I absolutely would have upgraded to a 10 or 15 minute. $18 can be pricey for a manicure, especially compared to some of the other places around Chelsea, but it's definitely worth it for the amazing job and cleanliness of the Salon. Just a note- I looked on their website before going which said you could tip on the card, so I didn't bring any cash. However, they did tell me once I was paying that they much prefer cash. In NYC for a wedding and in the very last minute needed a place to get my terrible looking nail biter hands and calloused feet for some TLC and beautification and my sophisticated NYC friend recommended me to Punam. Love the clean feel of the salon with a lot of ladies on a Friday evening. Massage chairs for you to sit in while they soak and do your pedicure. I inadvertently drifted to sleep..but noticed I wasn't the only one :) Punam put a lot of care and gave me great color recommendation. Very diligent and skilled in her service. The manager at the front desk made sure to greet all patrons when they arrive and leave by their first name, which is something definitely to note in terms of customer service. Minus one star for the price given the price of the mani pedi...perhaps I am not as familar with the NYC nail prices but it seems a little high than what I am used to. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE. $16 mani is higher than i usually like to pay but, to be fair, this is a day spa and not just a cheap nail spot so i don't mind paying for better service and cleanliness. i'm super picky w/ my manicures and, until now, had only 2 go-to nail spots where i would request a specific technician b/c one of my biggest pet peeves is going to a random nail spot out of convenience and leaving dissatisfied (and re-doing my nails the next day). i'm pleasantly surprised i can now add rehoboth to my list of trusted nail spots. i walked in on a saturday afternoon and it was about a 10 minute wait. color selection in the main wall includes the usual suspects, essie and opi; newest opi collection at the counter. free shoulder massage while i waited. tools come out of sealed packages from the autoclave. none of that nonsense where someone comes to your chair w/ an open set of tools and you have to wonder is she coming or going w/ them. mani was one of the best i've had - technician took so much care grooming my cuticles, massage was soothing and paint job immaculate. they prefer cash tips but there is an ATM inside at your convenience. unfortch it was broken when i was there but the owner was accommodating enough to charge my card the amount of cash i wanted to withdraw and he gave me that amount in cash from his register. read more

I like Rehoboth enough. It's close enough to work so I come by once a month, maybe once every two months with a co-worker to relax with a mani-pedi. The utensils they use are clean. They also usually ask you if you want to keep it, which is a nice touch. I wonder why they're inconsistent with it though. They also sometimes give you a hot towel for your neck as you're getting a pedicure. It's not my number one choice- my number one choice is Sapphire, which also uses clean tools, but Sapphire has a much more relaxing environment and does a better job consistently- they're also cheaper. Third visit to this salon for mani/pedi and left annoyed because they always try to up sell and aggravated because I ended up paying $95 for a regular mani/pedi no including the tip. I was charged twice for using one of the special colors. Snapshot - Relaxing atmosphere, excellent service, and high prices. As soon as I walked in, I immediately felt relaxed. The salon is beautiful, and they play classical music. I was greeted warmly, and a lady took my jacket and other things. I got an eyebrow wax, a gel manicure, and a pedicure. My eyebrows turned out a little thinner than I would have liked, but ok. This was the best mani/pedi I've received since I can remember. My manicurist was very focused, and a perfectionist. She was unsatisfied with the first 3 fingers she painted, so she took off the polish and started again, which really impressed me. She did cut one of my toes during the pedicure. It was painful, but I have ingrown toenails, and she really got in there, which I appreciated. With a 20% tip, my bill came to $100. I'm used to paying $60-$80. I can see why they charge more. This place really is great. Never have I seen an affordable nail salon with such inventive decor. I had my very first UV gel filling done here and Joanne was tremendous. She told me everything I needed to know about them but she didn't talk my ear off. These technicians here have mastered the balance of sociability!! I love this place! I was given a gift card to this spa from my former boss as a Christmas gift a few years ago and have been a loyalist ever since. I have not had any of the massages but I have had manicures here and each experience has been so pleasant and relaxing. It is very clean the staff is so friendly. I would like to check out getting a facial here one day. It's very convenient for me, close to my office and in front of my subway stop. Rehoboth Spa Owners Attention: $74 dollars for an OK manicure and 30 min Bad chair massage?! Maybe this place is failing (or it was just a slow day with 2 other customers and a good handful of staff aboard) but that's no excuse for making customers feel like they've been robbed so please be aware.... I asked for a "simple manicure" because my cuticles were clean already, and a 30 minute chair massage. They offer to do it at the same time and I'm thinking "this place knows how to get er done right!" Manicure - OK still some nail showing but overall OK. Chair massage - not worth it. I appreciate how the masseuse moved between my right and left side so as not to disturb the manicure, but he was literally just going up and down on my back. Up and down. Up and down. That's it. So, time to check out.... $74!!! I treat myself to a chair massage and/Or a simple manicure once every three months. Today I decided because this location looked so over-staffed and Clean (kudos on that you get 2 stars) I'd give my money to them. I ended up paying maybe twice what I would have and what I received was a red rope looking mark on my back and an OK manicure. I wish I could get a refund and leave a better review. I don't like leaving bad reviews so to be fair, highlights of this place: Clean Big - you will get service Thoughtful - albeit not in the focus I would want but they TRIED to do it right. Came here for spa week special, and treated myself to a body scrub. Spa was very clean, but I felt a bit shy walking from the changing room area to the showering area in only a robe. Once the scrub started, it was bliss. Vichy shower water was the perfect temperature, and I never felt too cold during the treatment. I opted for the sea salt instead of the $10 upgrade for apricot, supposedly for sensitive skin. Sea salt was definitely rough, but I've been used to decades of Korean-style skin sloughing roughness, so it was great for me. For everyone else, I would probably recommend the upgrade. After the scrub, they scrub you down again with what feels like softer loofahs and fragrant soap so that any of the oiliness from the salt scrub disappears. After that, she applies some lotion (I swear it smells like St Ives, which is ubiquitous in every Korean bathhouse I've been to) and massages it on. Massage felt like deep tissue/shiatsu, but was not painful. I could have upgraded to another massage, but honestly, the ten minute rubdown was more than enough for me. My hair was wet after the shower because my cap probably slipped off, but they have a blow dryer that you can borrow. I luckily had my own hairbrush though, so don't forget to bring yours if you don't want to use theirs. read more

The best pedicure I've had in a long time. I am really picky about manicures looking at how well they push the cuticles back, how they trim the cuticles, and they cover the whole nail with polish- get the whole nail? streaky? any stray fibers caught into the polish. I was really impressed with the quaility of work I received for the manicure. As well, I had a fantastic pedicure here. It was so relaxing that I might have started to doze while she was massaging my feet and legs. The polish change was done just as well as the manicure that I received. They have flip flops for sale here as well which worked out well as I was traveling when I stopped in and didn't have flip flops on me so I was able to get a decent pair for about $8 that were not complete junk so that I could use them on the walk back to the hotel as well as at the beach for the rest of the summer. read more

Nice place, feels clean (THIS IS A BIG DEAL) and the massage chairs are comfortable enough that I'm watching a gentleman snore through his leg massage as I type this. Most of the time I'm happy to wait for services - this place sure gets busy - but I don't really love getting dumped in a pedicure chair for half an hour while no one tells me what's going on. I think the prices are reasonable for the quality of their spa services but there's definitely a disconnect somewhere in the customer service department. I thought I had finally found an affordable place to get a top-notch massage. Nope. What was I thinking? It's NY. You get what you pay for, and in this case possibly less. Came here for a massage with a friend. First thought was that the place looks pretty presentable. The good really ends there. There is VERY little English spoken here. We had some difficulty conveying to the receptionist that we were there to have the massages we had reserved. Maybe that's because they didn't seem to actually have our "reservations" written down anywhere. I imagine if the place hadn't been completely empty, we would have had to wait a while... They had us fill out some standard infosheets (e.g. what existing conditions do you have?), but these didn't even go to the therapists, probably because they would not have been able to understand them! I hate when places try to seem professional by having you fill out a form, but then don't even use it. It's just a waste of my time. The massage was fine, but too slimy and not _actually_ the swedish massage that I had asked for. My therapist clearly had no training in swedish massage, whatsoever. Instead, he performed a variety of massage that he had learned in his home country, which it seemed must have been China. This type of massage involved a lot of body rotation and stretching, and was done with underwear on. It wasn't really the relaxing experience for which I had hoped (and registered). Moreover, my hands, feet, scalp, and legs were clearly not going to get any attention, so I had to ask for some work on my hands, but we then shortly ran out of time. Really frustrating that my feet and hands weren't even going to get a few minutes in a "full body" massage. To top it off, the massage room was uncomfortably cold, and there was no chair to sit on when I was getting my shoes back on. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

There's a spa downstairs and my esthetician/manicurist MiMi did one hell of a good job, with my nice manicure in Linkin Park After Dark. I also got a great chair massage with her, where she removed most of my knots and stress spots. Poor woman.. she was red and sweating after my session. Abit pricey.. so I'm not sure if I'll return but it's one of those better salons where I don't worry about sanitization and uneven manicure.. or worse bleeding cuticles ($8 manicure. This is one of the bigger nail salons in the city. It's great if you want to just walk in and not have to wait - even on a Sunday afternoon. That being said, the place is pricey. $53 for a mani-pedi -- and of course, they try to up-sell from there. I think of the the pedicures on the menu was like $60 or something. No thanks. Sometimes less really is more. It was an okay experience, but no one went out of their way to really help. There's nothing special that would make me come back to this place. They cleaned up a French disaster from Bellagio with no complaints, and listened to my requests about shaping, which was basically between straight and rounded, more toward straight. I'll have to get in for hand and neck massage at some point, as I desperately need such. Some spotting did go on about a week later on the UV gel finish, which otherwise held up well, otherwise it would've gotten the fifth star; I'd give it 4.5 if I could. I actually like this spa and would choose to go here over others however, in the last 18 months their pricing has gotten out of control! I was taken aback when their foot callous remover went from $10 to $15 and now It's gone up to $18!! You can get a liter size bottle of the same callous remover on Amazon for $15 and they are using about two tablespoons per pedicure! They also went up on the Essie Gel polish which used to be an extra $3 and is now an extra $5. By far they could be one of the most hygienic spas around with the best massage therapists available in what is mostly a nail salon, but the increases in pricing keeps me away on a regular basis, and more so now after the latest price increases. It's a shame but I just refuse to now spend $135 with tip for a manicure, pedicure (with callous remover) and a 15 minute massage. read more

They take the time to personalize the service and provides exceptional service. The cleanlineas of the spa is above and beyond. I have referred family and friends and they walk away with the same feeling. They make you feel relaxed and provide a serene atmosphere for the customer. Everyone is provided white glove service that walks through the doors. My favorite place in the whole world. I've actually experienced almost all the services in combination with my friends and family and have not been disappointed at all in the last 10 plus years in being a customer. The pedicure was fine, I was really happy with the colors and the work, the massage was OK, although she didn't get the dead skin of my feet very well and I had to ask her to do it again and then I kinda gave up. The manicure: I had a hard time communicating that I wanted pointy nails and she just couldn't get them pointy enough, but even the shape she did din't conform to my fingers and left my nails weird and bubbly. They kept telling me I didn't need gel polish and tried hard to sell me on permanent french tips even though I said thats not what I wanted repeatedly. Lashes: The website said they did lash extension but they don't anymore. WAX: THIS WAS THE MOST TRAUMATIC BRAZILIAN I HAVE EVER HAD. I had grow my hair out and if it was too long she should have trimmed it. It was getting close to closing and she was rushing and doing a terrible job, breaking hair off everywhere. Then she didn't pay attention to which way it went and she matted the wax in my hair, then she tried to rip it out by going over and over it. She never wore glove so when she finally had to tweeze she didn't squeeze the skin or want to touch it. I finally had to wrench if from her but mostly she broke my hair off so it was growing back fast and she didn't even wax half my crack. read more

TIPS are CASH ONLY! Came here with two girlfriends after our usual spot was filled up. It was a pleasant experience over all. The space is huge, I think at least 15 pedicure stations and just as many, if not more, manicure stations. We went for regular pedicures and they had a really wide variety of colors available. We sat down and they gave us hot towels for our necks to relax us and they went to work. Overall they did a pretty good job of cleaning and buffing our nails. They're pretty clean there considering they give you the cuticle pusher and nail filer to keep. My only qualm is that I felt kind of rushed towards the end when we were drying them at the drying stations. We were just sitting around and chatting and someone came over to saran wrap our toes...which for me, didn't end up working. My polish wasn't completely dry and some of it was scuffed, which I didn't notice till I got home. read more

I wouldn't tell you guys how great this place is for fear of overcrowding it, but they can handle your business, it's a huge place. I come here every 3 weeks in the winter, every 2 weeks in the summer, and here's what I get: -A regular pedicure with a 10 minute foot massage (their "regular pedicures" are really full service compared to most other places) -A 20 minute chair massage while my toes dry It's like $79 or something total and I tip the two people who work on me $10 each. The people here are SO LOVELY. Really. For an entire staff of people, you expect, in NYC, for a couple of people to have an attitude. None of these folks do. They are friendly, smiley, and go the extra mile to help you with your coat, etc. During the holidays, they all wear Santa hats. That should tell you how cute the staff is. The deep tissue massage was amazing!! Definitely was not for the light hearted though. Only downside was, once I was relaxed and was ready for the facial... The lady kept trying to up sale the $90 facial to $160. It was kinda of annoying. I just wanted to see if their facials are good .. I just came here for a facial and massage during Spa Week ($50/treatment) and Rehoboth completely exceeded my expectations. Michelle was my aesthetician and very thorough. It included cleaning, steaming, gentle extractions, light face and scalp massages and a mask using Dermalogica products. While the mask was on my face (approx. 15 minutes?), I received an arm/hand/neck rub-down which was a nice unexpected added bonus. At the end, I received a bunch of free Dermalogica samples (another plus!) Henry was my masseuse and he was FANTASTIC. A great combination of strokes to relax the muscles and kneading to get out the knots. I'm glad he didn't cheap out on the intensity of the pressure just because it was a "spa week special." It was a regular Swedish but the pressure was very intense in a good way. For me, the harder the better. I was extremely pleased with how the massage went and appreciated that he used a hot towel to wipe the oil/cream off at the end. The heat from the towel felt amazing on the muscles. I'm already thinking about booking him again in a month or so. The only negative is they tried to upsell me a bunch of times to a higher priced fancier facial and a deep tissue massage (completely unnecessary since the Swedish felt like a deep tissue) however I suspect this is typical of most places when Spa Week is going on. Other misc: - The space is huge - lots of nail stations in the front and I think there were 8 or so treatment rooms in the back for facials/waxing/massage etc) - bright with a lot of light and VERY CLEAN.
