I feel sorry for clients that are not educated and know what is right and wrong in performing nails services. First off, you cannot remove a callus. You can soften it, however a callus never goes away. It is a protective layer that the body has put in place for a reason. Callus Softener, as it should be called, should be placed ONLY on the callus and not the entire foot and left on for 3-5 minutes to allow it to penetrate the callus. When I was at Pro Nails, they slathered the entire bottom of my foot in "Callus Remover" and never let the product sit to allow it to actually begin working. Instead, they immediately began grating my foot with a callus remover not even paying attention to the fact that ... I HAVE NO CALLUSSES ON MY FEET!!! Next the Tech took out a pumice stone and placed more "CALLUSS REMOVER" directly on the pumice stone along with sea salt scrub and then began scrubbing my already grated foot. When I actually began walking on my feet, they were actually quite sore. I am quite sure it was a combination "Callus Remover" being placed on non-callus skin and my foot being both grated and pumice stoned. The pedicure service I requested was to have a paraffin wax treatment and a clay mask treatment. I was VERY disappointed when the paraffin wax was placed on my feet and the mask was placed on my legs, actually cheating my feet out of a clay mask treatment :-( I also think it is VERY RUDE to have the techs speak back and forth to each other in a language I do not understand during my entire Spa Pedicure service, that I would like to have been very relaxing. I know that they were quite capable of speaking the same language as I do, because my tech wanted to ... upgrade my pedicure service for only $5 more ... sell me a design on my toes ... sell me a manicure ... and sell me an eyebrow waxing!!! I guess, I am only afforded common courtesy when it involves taking my money NOT when it involves giving me my monies worth!!! I do agree with the previous post that the salon was quite new and clean and did not have the typical acrylic nail (monomer) smell that most "cattle herding" salons have in them. read more

You know how you'll go to a salon and get a $25.00 pedicure and have a great experience? Well I paid for a $25.00 pedicure and felt like I got a $10.00 pedicure. There was no massage and no heel exfoliation. I got the pumice stone, but nothing that would remove the dead cells. My toenails were uneven. My daughter got her nails done and they cut her with the file. Then at NO time did they disinfect or throw out the instruments used. Not kidding. Really made me wonder how infectious the instruments used on me were. Would NOT be surprised if a TDLR visit us in their new future... read more

The girl who did my feet today rushed through my pedicure, cut at least 2 of my toes, and was just very rough. This is not the 1st time I've had similar issues with this location. But I thought I'd give them another shot, plus they're around the corner from my house. Apparently, this is a sprint race for them. Hardly a relaxing experience. As a licensed nail tech, I know better than to hit a corner shop, but I am also too lazy to do my own feet. That being said, in this case, I've made my own bed, so I shall lie in it. But I will NOT be back, nor will I recommend them to anyone I know. read more

Editing after reading all of the other reviews were people were INJURED here... cut cuticles, cut fingers, FUNGUS growing after visiting this place... GROSS! I'll let my friends know too. I went in for a quick fill on Sunday- I picked my color and I sat down and the lady asked if I had gel nails. I told her I have solar with just regular polish. She said they were gel. I told her no, they're solar, with just regular OPI polish. So she removed my polish by buffing it off (no big deal) and insisted it was gel polish. I didn't feel like arguing the point anymore. She filled my nails and then took out the gel polish. I figured "Oh, what the heck...at least that dries faster and it keeps that shiny look longer" She polished the nails on my left hand and had me put my hand in the gel polish curing machine. It kept turning off. Then she put my right hand into the curing machine. I looked at my left hand and the polish was all thick and wrinkly. She happily fixed it and when she finished my nails, they looked great! However, I spent $40... I didn't really intend to spend $40 on a fill. It was because they did gel. So I understand why it was $40 but I feel like they insisted they were gel nails so they could use gel polish and charge me more. I was not happy because I TOLD THEM THEY WERE NOT GEL NAILS! Later I noticed the polish on my thumb nail on my right hand was now all wrinkly, and a chunk of it had actually peeled up and off within a couple of hours. I went in to get it fixed yesterday. The woman doing my nails was on the phone the entire time, talking so loudly she gave me a headache. So I had to sit there and listen to her conversation for 20 minutes. I don't think that is any sort of customer service, she didn't even speak to me once. And this morning... there's a chip in the polish, but in a different spot. It's not like I'm putting my hands in acid or building a house, I work in an office and none of the polish on my other nails has chipped. I won't go back because 1. They ripped me off by insisting my nails had gel polish on them and insisting on redoing them with gel...2. I got horrible customer service when I went to get my nail fixed.... 3 They obviously use low quality products because not even 24 hours later, the polish is chipped AGAIN!. I will go back to NexGen the next time I need a fill, even if it's out of my way- I only went to this place because I was in the area and needed a fill. At least they listen to you and don't try to rip you off. read more

The worst experience I've ever had. A friend and I went here and both showed pictures of what we wanted. I asked for a natural, non-french tip look. I had a picture and immediately the woman started giving me French tip with pink nail bed SNS. I said something to her and she simply added glitter. Why glitter? I asked for natural. I told her fine, since it looked far more natural until the end when she added the glass shine. It was so incredibly pink and white when I asked for a natural translucent. All she had to do was skip some steps, but even when I said just leave it the way it is and don't add a glass shine, she said no, that she couldn't do it. So I tell two people who work there, including the cashier and no one does anything. We leave and got so upset that we called the owner and asked for a refund. She said no, that she would fix it for us the next day. We went back and told them we were just so upset that we didn't want to give them business and they said they couldn't do anything without the owner's permission. So we called her again and said we just wanted a refund, so she told us the only way they would do that is to take the nails off then refund us. Fine. So we sit soaking our nails in acetone while the manicurists come up to us and argue saying that is what we asked for and continue to bash us in their language, clearly pointing at me and saying something. The balls on this woman to come up and tell me that it's what I asked for and that I said it was okay though I did clearly tell her three times that's not what I wanted. This was the most horrible experience I've ever had at a nail salon. It took up some four hours of my day after the whole event and my friend and I are talking about how horrible it was days later. Don't ever go here, they don't value customers. The rudest people I've ever dealt with. read more

A waste of my time and money. Got my nails done today (SNS) and they didn't have a clue what they were doing. Two girls worked on my nails while another one watched. I went in to get a gel manicure. The manicurist had limited English, but we managed just fine to start with. Then, in the middle of my manicure, two other people came in and asked for eyebrow waxing. She got up and left me to take care of them! She was gone for 7 or 8 minutes to wax one lady. While I waited, I noticed that the nails on one hand were noticeably crooked. When she came back to help the second eyebrow lady, another manicurist seemed to indicate that she needed to go back to me. I showed her my crooked nails, and she indicated that she would file them straight. After filing, the nails were still crooked. When I tried to tell her, she twisted my hand up and completely around so that the top of my wrist faced her and my elbow was in the air. I told her it hurt, and my hand didn't bend that way, and she SLAPPED ME. I calmly said we were done, and she seemed surprised that I no longer wanted a manicure. I have been here before and been pleased, but wow. Just wow. I wish I could give this place zero stars. read more

I've been trying new nail places lately, so I went to Spa Pro Nails on a Thursday afternoon. I asked for a gel manicure. A thin male, with tattoos on his arms, did my nails. (I mention the tattoos only for identification purposes. I don't care that he had tattoos.) He did not speak or understand english. I was trying to find a very subtle color to put on my nails and he couldn't help at all. (I should mention that they hand you 4 or 5 color rings when you walk in. The choices are overwhelming, and not very well organized.) The owner tried to help and suggested a color that I ended up going with. From there, the nightmare started...the nail tech destroyed my cuticles. He cut them so aggressively one started bleeding and wouldn't stop. I don't really think he could see very well. At some point, he stopped and cleaned his glasses. And then they have those bowls sitting there, that you have to place your hands in. They don't change the liquid with each client. That seriously grosses me out. And just so you know, my bleeding finger was placed in that bowl! On a positive note, the nail tech did an okay job applying my gel polish. That night, I actually woke up from a sound sleep because my hands were throbbing. I found at least 3 deep cuts around my cuticle area. I think I didn't feel it as I was leaving the salon because my hands had been soaked and conditioned, and were softer. But once all that dried out, my hands were seriously hurting. My cuticles hurt for at least 3 days. I was so glad I didn't get an infection as a result of the cuts. I'll never go to this nail salon again. It was a miserable experience, and I consider myself lucky to have walked away with only a bad experience and not something worse. DON'T GO. It's a disgusting place. And if you won't heed my advice, at least avoid Edward Scissorhands. read more

I have gone to this salon a few times before and I was happy with it. However, my daughter and I went today and the man that did my nails was so rude. He kept getting mad at me when I didn't understand what he was telling me to do. It made me anxious and definitely not able to relax. I'm paying for a service, but was afraid the whole time I was going to get "in trouble". Also, a sign by the register states that there is a 5% discount for paying cash, which I was not given, and was too intimidated to ask for, for fear of getting snapped at!! read more

Really disappointed today I called a day before schedule an appointment showed up and had to wait 15 mins, what's the point of scheduling and appointment!! Well was it because it was the day before Valentine's or because it was Friday and an hour before they close because the lady did my fills in 20 min SNS on top of things meaning expensive!! Needless to say I left upset I can feel my nails were not filed correctly, because they are rough and not soft! Don't recommend going and hour before closing on Fridays!! HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE experience! Save your money! I threw away $50!!! Where to begin??? Cut the skin while trimming cuticles, paint job was a joke. Paint was uneven and you could see the white of my nails when she was "done". Made the mistake of having my eyebrows waxed. Big mistake! The paper covering where your head goes hadn't been switched out (saw a hair on it) and she burned the skin above my eyes. Now they are red and raw. While I was there another lady was complaining the there were bubbles in the nail polish when her pedicure was finished. (Old nail polish???). Workers are rude, talk to one another while giving pedicures giving the customer no attention and doing a half-ass job. Will NEVER go back! read more

Went in and the lady asked what I needed which was a fill in and said to have a seat. No one else was waiting in front of me except one for a pedi. I was there for 35 mins and no one helped. I saw 5 people go back for a pedi but no one was getting to me. I've been here twice before and I haven't been too impressed but now I won't be back. This nail salon was brand new when I moved to round rock 3 years ago and I loved how clean and friendly the experience was. They always did a good job with the seldom bad experience due to a new employee or whatnot but I always gave them the benefit of the doubt and gave them another chance. I finally found a girl who did my nails perfect and I asked for her every time. She left the store and so I just started having whoever was available do my nails. The service was getting worse and worse. Within the the past year I honestly feel like the employees straight up do not care. I have been a regular every two weeks for 3 years and I'm not high maintenance and I'm not obnoxious while I'm there. I feel as if I am bothering them now when I come there. And to make it worse, I usually break and chip 3-4 nails days later so I have to come back multiple times to "bother" them again. I'm moving on. I got my nails done here and had to go back four times almost everyday after getting them done because they would pop right off. They would pop off doing the most simple things like reaching into my back pocket. Picking up something, and one would just pop off. I've had my nails done for YEARS & I've never seen nails pop off with such ease. After my fourth time returning to fix a broken nail I asked for my money back but they wouldn't give it. The lady said that it has been two weeks. I have the receipt I was there less than a week ago & have been back almost every single day since, for popped off nails. Instead of apologizing they kept blaming me. Fabricating time & saying that no one else complains. They also mocked me when I told them how easily they came off. She told me to go home and take a nap and they will be there with smiling faces to come and fix it. I told her I can't keep coming everyday to get my nails done. The lady said for me to do what God led me to do. With all my heart I am led not to let this happen to anyone else and it is her who will stand before God and answer if how I was treated was just and fair. If they do not give me my money back I'm going to continue to escalate the issue because it's just not right. read more
