I am extremely unsatisfied with my experience. I would put my review in the negatives if I could. I came with a big group so we sat in the back, before we even got our food we were greeted by a rat. A LIVE RAT. We had to pick up our baguettes that were hand placed with a latex glove on the table and leave.We were extremely disgusted and moved right away, and everyone was very unhelpful. Our salad was flooding in dressing it was practically inedible. When we got our main dishes the alfredo tasted spoiled and made people's mouths tingle and there was a black curly hair in the ziti. They also didn't comp any of this hard to get down meal after being notified about the rat and hair. If this doesn't explain how bad of the experience this was i don't know what will I feel bad for the staff working there. read more

The food here was less than average!!! We ordered 2 lasagnas with extra meatballs, garlic bread and the cake they claim is from Cheesecake Factory... WOW! Talk about not what they say it is. It was interesting, we weren't in a rush for dinner but we were starved. Thank goodness for the alright bread they give you beforehand! An hour went by before we got our entrees. Came here with a couple of friends after work one day. I really liked the overall aesthetic of the place as they have a trolley inside the restaurant you can dine at. They also had a good wine selection. We ordered a bottle of Bianco for the table and managed to have a good amount to drink for the 5 of us. The prices were a bit high; however, they came with a salad and another side which did make up for it. As for the taste, it was average, and I was not super blown away by it. I got the Alfredo pasta, and while it was a bit bland, the portion size was pretty big and had some leftovers left. The train is fun for kids or anyone with a sense of whimsy (especially if you get to eat inside of it.) However, Syracuse has no shortage of Italian restaurants, and most of them are better in terms of authenticity and food quality. The place is really big, which made it feel really empty for prime time on a Friday night. Unfortunately being a slow night didn't speed up our service. It was at least 20 minutes before our drink order was taken, and an hour into seating we still hadn't seen our appetizers or so much as bread for the table. If the second ingredient in their red sauce isn't sugar, then I don't know how they make it so sweet. Nearly unpalatable, both in spaghetti and lasagna form. One guest who steered away from tomato and ordered scampi kind of picked at her plate unhappily. Another had a fried chicken sandwich, with chicken so tough she could not cut through it let alone chew it. She did like the fries though! Three of the four of us had violent reactions to the food, with two spraying the bowl before we even left the restaurant. Since we came from separate places, dinner was out only common denominator. The men's room was fine for that purpose, but as I understand it the women's room had four stalls, none of which with working locks, and only one toilet in a condition to find relief upon. While most of this could be chalked up to bad luck on a bad night, their signature tomato sauce alone makes this someplace we will not visit again. read more

I used to eat at Spaghetti Warehouse a lot years ago. I recently had an opportunity to have lunch there and was disappointed. First shock was the increase in prices. I ordered the lasagna which came with a salad (or soup). The salad was just your standard iceberg lettuce with a few cherry tomatoes and croutons. The "sidecar" option was new. Kind of confusing. One of the sides was chicken parmigiana which is also offered as an entree. I got meatballs as my side. They were tough. Maybe over cooked. The lasagna didn't taste as good as I remembered. And it was drowning in sauce. The table also gets small loaves of sourdough bread with butter. I'm not a good judge of this as I don't like sourdough but I know others who love it. I really wanted to give this place a better review since our first experience at the mystery dinner was so fun and great. My husband, son and I were here earlier this evening for dinner around 7- dinner rush time- we didn't have to wait for a spot long which we were grateful for since there weren't many available parking spots. We entered into the main waiting area which is decorated with antiques and a mini arcade area. The host seated us immediately leading us past a transformed train car and other awesome antique decor. He brought a high chair over immediately so we could get settled. As I situated my son in the high chair and finally sat down our waiter Mike? Came over to take our drink orders which were then brought shortly after. Awesome right? He took our orders for our meals....and then brought us our bread with garlic butter as he apologized they weren't ready sooner; maybe about 5 minutes later we got our lackluster salads that came with the meal. Mine was drowned in Italian dressing ALMOST covering the wilted lettuce that had probably been left out all day uncovered. About 40 minutes after the salads were brought out our meals FINALLY showed up....! My husband ordered chicken parm with spaghetti and I ordered spaghetti with spicy sauce; unfortunately my husbands meal looked like someone used the leftovers of another order. So, not only did we wait 40 minutes but my husbands meal was so skimpy we had to complain! We didn't complain a single time while waiting and walking around the restaurant several times with an antsy 1 year old. We waited till we got our food and when we saw that we just couldn't not say anything. Our server Mike then told the manager Mike who came and apologized; he didn't know the reason why this happened as he states it normally takes about 15 minutes. He apologized and offered my husbands meal free and free dessert. Although the manager did "make things right" I still can't offer more stars. The food was subpar and the situation. I feel bad because the server didn't seem to be at fault and overall the atmosphere is fun. We have a gift card with money left on it now and hesitant to go back to use it. read more

I've been here a few times, though usually it has been for the Murder Mystery Dinners that they host on Thursday's throughout the year. While the atmosphere of the restaurant is not incredibly appealing, with its interesting decor of bed frames used as seating and being very old-fashioned and eccentric, one can't be too picky when it seems that is the intention. With the venue being a converted, old warehouse and having trolleys in the middle as dining areas, you quickly settle away from the discomfort of the odd decor of the bed frames to confused awe, as it had my mind confused between "am I eating in a dirty, old warehouse or a neat museum?!" Nonetheless, it is definitely a fun experience. The food is your typical American-Italian cuisine; heavy in the pastas and carbs, but definitely extremely delicious, and holding true to the large (understatement) American portions that the country is famous for. So, if you come here, be prepared to bring your appetite, as when I have come here, I always tend to get the Lasagna, and let me tell you, it's a good 3-4 portions worth of food!! It's a delicious "cheat day," for any health nuts out there. If you come here for a Murder Mystery Night, be prepared for an interactive and fun night, but also know that it is about 3.5-4 hours worth of your time, starting at 6:30 and lasting until 10:00-10:30. I've been dining here for many years. The interior of the restaurant is similar to an old train station. I enjoy eating inside the old trolley car in the center of the dining area. The dining atmosphere is interesting. The server will bring out a loaf of hot sourdough bread on a wooden cutting board with lemon butter spread. I enjoy the Turin Trio (15 layer lasagna (with a little Italy flag), fettucine alfredo, & chicken parmigiana) served with soup or salad. The Italian Wedding soup (diced chicken breast, spinach, small noodles, & small meatballs in a chicken broth soup) is a good start. For dessert, the Brownie Sundae Supreme (a warm large pecan/chocolate chip brownie served with vanilla ice cream & topped with hot fudge/caramel & whipped cream) is a good ending to a big meal. On a previous visit, I did not care for the Warehouse Tiramisu, which tasted like layers of sugar cream and dried out sponge cake. The portions of food are very generous relative to the price. The service on each visit can be hit or miss, but fortunately on my last visit, my server was on top of things (refills on soda, bread, & soup). read more

The chain started in 1972 in Texas, and has since spread throughout the southern and eastern parts of the United States.  The restaurants are always oddly decorated. Like an odd, random antique shop. This particular location is huge, as I assume most are. Each restaurant has a trolley car in the dining room and patrons are able to sit in the car. Their menus are decent sized with enough options for everyone to be able to find something. I've been to Spaghetti Warehouse a handful of times now and have never been impressed. The food is passable, at best. It's definitely as far from Italian as possible. Tastes like canned sauces, frozen meats. Certain things are definitely pre-cooked or pre-prepared. Desserts were nothing special as well. I find it to be pricy, for the amount of food they give/quality. At a real Italian restaurant, it'd be acceptable. Service is so so, depending on who you get. It's just nothing impressive. This location has even been shut down once or twice for health code violations. The last time I was here was for my father-in-laws birthday (his request), and I'm sure it will be my last. read more

I went here with a few running friends the night before the Syracuse Half Marathon. We had reservations for 6:30 p.m., but waited in the bar area for 15 or 20 minutes after this. The hostess showed us to a table, which was among a group of empty tables - this confused us with regards to the wait... One of our party is gluten-free; in fact, that's why we picked this restaurant. But they were out of gluten free pasta. And they were out of potatoes. So, no carbs for our unfortunate party member. In my opinion, if a restaurant runs out of those carb options the night before a race, you send someone to the store to get some potatoes. The server seemed overworked. She forgot our bread at one point. I ordered the chicken parmesan, which was actually quite good. The draft selection was wanting but I settled on an Ointa IPA (the Honey Brown had just kicked, thankfully). read more

The sauce on the chicken parm was very garlicky My partner ordered the lasagna which in past visits has been exceptional. However it was very disappointing. And lacked any flavor. We recently moved to Franklin Square and have asked neighbors for restaurant recommendations. Spaghetti Warehouse is within walking distance of our home and has not once been recommended. We decided to check it out and we now understand it not being recommended. Aside from very good customer service there is nothing remarkable about our visit. Felt very much like a chain good experience with your typical pre made food with very little character and flavor. Basically Meh. Not recommended. Don't waste your money. We ordered the double order of chicken parm, minestrone soup. I also ordered a Sam Adams summer ale that has to be sent back because it tasted like soap was mixed into the glass. read more

It's just that they don't do anything well and some things were extraordinarily bad. Our chicken breast was dangerously undercooked, my cocktail was more mocktail (was there even alcohol in it?), and the sauce was so sweet it could give cavities. On the plus side, our overworked wait person was very nice and the decor, while dusty, was adorable. I've always loved Spaghetti Warehouse. And this is a little list of some particular things I love about SW: It's a little bit hidden. If you aren't familiar with Downtown Syracuse you may not even notice a restaurant that's been built inside of an old warehouse. Find Franklin Square... and you'll find the Spaghetti Warehouse. They have "call ahead seating". Not all places do... but this place needs it, so they offer it. Have you been on a Friday or Saturday night? Or following a Syracuse football/basketball/lacrosse game? Oh! Or "Family Weekend" at either SU or Lemoyne? Then you know how crowded it gets. SW is huge- like 4 massive rooms with tables- but make sure you call ahead for a table! Otherwise you're looking at a wait. The food is always good and more authentic than Olive Garden. Seriously, I've been going for years and have never had to send back a plate and it all just seems a little bit more homey than a visit to the OG. And just like OG- the bread and salad (or soup!) are complimentary with any entrée. Yay! And one more thing on the food- they'll serve you more salad after the meal if you want. Believe it. I've done it. Many many many times. Love their salad dressing! The building itself is awesome. Exposed brick, huge old glass windows, high high ceiling, etc. If you're not claustrophobic - ask to sit in the train car. The train is elevated a bit off the main dining room and gives you a great view of the room and other guests. Because of the size they are able to host large events. I've celebrated so many family events at SW I feel like we should have our own room. But then again I think a lot of people in Syracuse have as well. If you get the Ultimate Feast for Two, prepare to have leftovers for breakfast, lunch and dinner the next day! Also, if you have a strong craving or love for meat sauce, this is the place to go to. For every dish that calls for meat sauce, it will be drowned in it. Fine by me though! Everything was delicious and the food came out rather quickly. The atmosphere of this place is just so down to earth and the place is ginormous along with their portions. There were so many vintage photos/paintings on the walls to look at to keep your dinner interesting. I would definitely recommend this place for couples. Makes you feel like you're in the movie Lady and the Tramp with the plaid tablecloths and plate of spaghetti dinner :) PS wear something loose to help ease the food baby because you'll definitely have one read more

I had heard great things about Spaghetti Warehouse from family and friends. Being new to the Syracuse area, I love exploring new restaurants and was excited to have dinner here after my family and I saw The Lion King at the Landmark. HUGE MISTAKE. We got there at 530, were sat around 6, and didn't get our dinner till almost 8. My cousin-in-law found a long hair in her salad, and our (very grumpy) server brought her another fork. Like that would fix the problem. Our dinners were awful. My sister-in-law and I got the spaghetti and meatballs with a side of fried calamari. The calamari tasted burnt, even though it didn't appear to be. It was disgusting, and made the whole dish taste burnt. We sent the calamari back, and the server came back and said that the oil that was used was old. Like, she admitted that they used crappy oil and was so unapologetic about it. Everyone who had ordered something fried ended up with disgusting, inedible food. You would think that after all this, maybe some meals would be comped, an apology would be made, dessert on the house, something. NOTHING. An awful end to an otherwise wonderful day. Pretty bloody awful. It's dreary, down at the heel and looks as if it's about to close. The majority of the chairs are ripped. What ambience. When we came to order, it turns out that the menu you see online is about double the size of the actual cheap and nasty piece of paper on a clipboard they give you. All the good stuff has disppeared but they lure you in by being thoroughly dishonest online. Dubious business practice! You start with one bread roll between 2 people. Such generosity. Then the salad, so smothered in dressing that it looks like a paint can has been emptied over it. Really awful. Then the Piece de Resistance. Spaghetti in slime! Supposed to be garlic butter but more like wallpaper paste. Totally disgusting. However, you do get 4 overcooked rubbery shrimp with it so that makes it ok. And I had to send mine back because it was stone cold. 2 minutes in the microwave cured that. That's the Cordon Bleu way! They do a good glass of Sprite though....... Never again. These corporate places have no care for the diner or any perceptible pride in their food as can be seen from one meal. My advice is avoid this place like the plague. It's on a par with Olive Garden which in my view makes one of the 2 worst restaurants in CNY. It's a close call! read more

Be careful going here. Recommend trying someplace else. Had reservations but when we showed up they said it didn't matter and we had to wait an additional 25 minutes. When we asked why do we made a reservation if they can't honor them the man said nothing he could do about it and he couldn't have seemed to care less we had someplace we had to be. We went on an off night, a Tuesday...besides our party of 14 they had 3 other parties of equal size and a bus. The server was excellent, we all got bread and their delicious butter. Pretty much everyone ordered an entree so salads came out pretty quick. Since it was a birthday celebration no one really noticed if the food came out expeditiously. However, everyone loved the humongous portions. I got a drink from the bar which is rarely ever busy, 1 patron at 6pm. Came here 10/09 because my boyfriend and I wanted a night out at a restaurant he used to love as child. When we arrived I was happy with the decor it's really cool and unique. We got sat at a table and it seemed to be ok. But then we waited about 20 minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink and eat. We ordered an appetizer of cheesey bread (which never arrived) , a warehouse lasagna (tiny and more sauce than anything) and fettuccine alfredo ( came as chicken and broccoli alfredo which i didn't order). So when the drink arrived we got the complimentary bread and salad which were good but then it took about 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Not blaming the waitress because they were way understaffed and a huge group came in but our table barely got checked and i was never asked if i needed a refill on my drink. The lasagna was tiny and the alfredo didn't taste very good if i'm being honest. Took another 20 to get our receipt which we had to ask for a reduced price bc they were gonna charge for the bread we didn't receive and the alfredo i didn't order but luckily the man upfront was nice enough to give us a discount for the hassle. read more
