This is truly a hidden gem in DE!…read more I was visiting family over Mother's Day weekend, and we had reservations for 5pm (note: reservations are STRONGLY encouraged for prompt seating). As a Baltimore native, I'm used to the charm of the Little Italy restaurants; pulling up to La Dolce Vita had me scratching my head. It is truly not much to look at from the outside or inside, but-- as my grandmother always taught me-- never judge a book by its cover. I'm glad I didn't. The 2 polite servers were already busy when we got there, but we were seated quickly and provided with our drinks and table bread promptly. The menu is small yet cozy and familiar. The specials were relatively extensive, also (maybe for the holiday?). My family ordered 2 appetizer specials (escargot & clams casino)-- both were alright, but I'm also not a huge fan of either. Plate presentation was nothing fancy, but still looked very nice. With any entree, you receive a side salad-- a small display of fresh spring greens with tomatoes and cucumber. Don't be off-put by the packaged salad dressing. Our table ordered: lamb Ossobucco (special), veal & shrimp Marsala, and chicken parmigiana. Due to the increasing patrons, our main dishes took a little longer to come out, but it was nice to catch up with family. Again, the presentation of the main dishes were nothing gourmet, but hearty and clean. The Marsala has a sweet flavor, which is not usually how I make it, but it was still rich and tasty. I had the chicken parmigiana, and was surprised to see that the side angel hair pasta came with meat sauce-- I later realized that it's listed on the menu (oops!). Their pasta sauce is absolutely delicious, and I wish I ordered more for bread-dipping! Save room and pack up half of your meal, because you *WILL* want their delicious, homemade desserts. Our table shared tiramisu and a cannoli-- let me tell you, they put Baltimore's Vaccaro's to shame. The cannoli was probably the best I've ever had, and the tiramisu was so light and fluffy without an overwhelming coffee flavor. For 3 people (no alcoholic drinks), the total was about $150. This is incredible for the delicious food and large portions! Please please please go here for the best Italian food on the shore!

The appetizers were mussels Diablo, garlic bread, mozzarella sticks, and bacon wrapped shrimp. It was all delicious. The atmosphere was like an old time Italian restaurant set back in time and dark. I ordered a glass of wine and they gave me a full glass of wine. The service was very good. The waitress were prompt and friendly. I definitely will go back again. We have a saying, it's where Italian go for Italian, it's that good!

I love the crust as is it crispy and not too thin. The toppings are generous and fresh. We also started off with some cheesy garlic bread that was delicious. The inside is nice and clean and the service was excellent. The following week we went back again and got a different pizza, the Palace Special, and added a salad and everything was once again, excellent. The salad was large and tasty and the dressing was good. And again the service was excellent, friendly and attentive. I have now found this is my go to Pizza Place in Georgetown but I am determined to try some of the other food one of these days! If you are nearby I would defiantly say give it a try.

The waitress I had was Helayne. Let me tell you about her. She was so attentive to keeping my drink filled and making sure that I was happy with my meal. The teamwork in this establishment is unreal. I mean everyone is working together when somebody gets up and leaves all these ladies will go 2 that table and clean it and get it ready for the next person all while still taking care of you! Will be back! The food and sweet tea I got were the best ever.

Crispy outer leaves and thoroughly cooked halves. The glaze was so good and the bacon ! We were only going to eat half and bring the rest home, but we couldn't stop and ate them all! I had the chicken marsala - delish! And husband had the stuffed shells special (with crab). Just an all around lovely dinner out.

Our server, Devyn made some excellent dinner suggestions. I had my all time favorite Veal Saltimbuca. It was perfection! I am a North Jersey gal and I am accustomed to really good Italian food and Mio's surpassed my expectations. The veal was so tender, the sage sauce was beyond delicious and the spinach risotto was the icing on my cake! The portion sizes are more than adequate. One thing and my pet peeve - the side of linguini was not completely drained. My dinner companions very much enjoyed their entrees of the lasagna and the stuffed Flounder with crab royal special. Our Appy of antipasto was dressed nicely and was plentiful for three. The bread was crusty on the outside and tender on the inside. Desserts were over the top, bread pudding was so good served warm and with vanilla ice cream. We also shared the lemon berry mascarpone cake- yummy! Pistachio and espresso martinis were strong but good. We'll be back soon. Very enjoyable. My only regret was that I hadn't tried them earlier.
