As you can see we were here for the first time in March 2024. This was our second visit after almost 2 years. I returned here with my friend on Friday for happy hour around 3:45 PM. The main bar was not crowded when we first arrived so we easily scored two bar stools with backs overlooking the south side of the bar. The bar started to fill up after 4 PM. A guy with a guitar sang some songs as per last time. The views of the Atlantic ocean and the bay are great from the Vista rooftop bar and restaurant. . They now offer many flavors of margaritas. Before we left the bar, all high tops were full with customers including customers who were waiting for our bar stools. Some customers seized the high tops, while some went to the secondary bar. A second bartender was called in when the bar became very busy. I opted for my three strawberry margaritas with salted rims for $8 each. I also enjoyed my Tsunami Wontons with Atlantic lobster, jumbo lump crab, avocado, pico de gallo, and wasabi and red pepper coulis for $20. The happy hour menu is different from when we last visited. Bartender Mark served both of us very well. My friend and I split our bill in half. My share of our bill was $49 including a 3% credit card surcharge, but excluding gratuity. Joanne tonight was a pleasure. We enjoyed our experience at Vista and was one to remember for it being our first time here. The food was awesome! I ordered the Fresh Catch which was the blackened Tuna and it was indeed very fresh and so full of flavor. The cocktails are also amazing and the espresso martini's are on point! What a gorgeous rooftop. It's very unassuming walking through the Fenwick Inn up the elevators to the rooftop but once you get to the hostess stand it is unbelievably beautiful. They've done a great job of elevating the ambience and that rooftop deck with a beautiful sunset was gorgeous. The cocktails were high-end and complex. The Poke Bowl was okay and the crab cakes were top notch. The seafood risotto I had could have been better. It was very watery and I don't think they use the correct rice which I pointed out to the server. None of the less of a group had a great time trying on different cocktails and having the best view. Service was good, server was kind. There is parking at the hotel parking lot and I recommend making a reservation. read more

This place is a hidden gem located in the Fenwick Inn. My fiancé and I arrived as the sun was setting and the views were beautiful. You have the best of both worlds with views of both the bay and ocean from almost any seat in the restaurant. We started off with an order of the house bread, which was some of the best bread I've ever had. For entrees, my fiancé and I split the 14 oz. New York strip and Caesar salad. The steak was cooked perfectly and we loved the heaping of melted butter that came on the steak. The Caesar salad was just okay. There were quite a few brown lettuce pieces, which wasn't great. Overall, it was a nice dinner and we'll definitely be back for happy hour to try more of the menu. read more

Food and drinks are so good here. With a few tweaks, it could be a five-star restaurant. We had an appetizer dip with mushrooms, crabmeat and spinach. It arrived with a generous dozen slices of baguette. Really different & really good. Hubby had a special pasta dish of rigatoni with shredded pork, broccoli rabe, and provolone (echoing the Philly sandwich). This was pretty good but in desperate need of seasoning; the pasta (sitting in some sort of broth) was rather plain, as was the pork. I had a special rare-cooked tuna over basmati rice and what they call duxelle veggies. Beautifully presented, the tuna was melt-in-your-mouth tender. We enjoyed a lemon crush and their version of a dirty martini with blue cheese-stuffed olives. The place is decorated nicely with lovely views but crazy loud! We were supposed to dine with another couple; I'm glad they canceled at the last minute because conversation would have been very difficult. Then there are the doors leading to outside dining: every time a server went out or back in, they closed with a loud BANG. Every. Time. BANG BANG BANG throughout the meal. We'll return to Vista for the food, but not for a group dinner with friends. Unless you're comfortable shouting to each other all evening. read more

This restaurant is over hyped. The views aren't that great and the food wasn't good at all. We ordered a steak and the seafood risotto for an anniversary meal and it was terrible. The risotto was overcooked and the steak had no seasoning. For the price we expected more flavor and definitely better services. We weren't even offered a dessert for our anniversary or even a well wishes. Just...go somewhere else in the city. read more

This restaurant has so much going for it. The view, ambience, decor, and friendly bartenders. The food is good but not great. We went there for happy hour and like so many restaurants, the focus is on discounting some drinks but not necessarily the food. Three tsunami wontons with a mediocre amount of topping for $20 doesn't say HH to me. 6 average wings for $12 doesn't say HH to me. The PEI mussels were probably the best thing although the mussels were on the small size. I did enjoy a pomegranate margarita that had the right balance of sweetness and tartness. It's just a shame and a sign of the times that a HH for 3 people cost $150. It seems the amount of food went down and the prices went up. It's worth a visit for drinks but be prepared to shell out some bucks for the food. read more

We came to this restaurant at the recommendation of my daughter who recently visited with some friends. We love appetizers so we decided to make this an appetizer only night! We ordered a Caesar salad. It was nicely, dressed with not too many croutons and the lettuce was fresh. We had Bonocini- which is their version of mozzarella sticks. They could have been hotter as the cheese wasn't totally melted it inside as well as on the outside. The marinara sauce was full of flavor. We ordered the special which was the tenderloin Crostini. This was our favorite! It had so much steak and it included mushrooms, onions, and a flavorful sauce on top of the crostini. We also got the Ahi tuna Poké bowl, which was so fresh and flavorful that we were fighting over it! Another favorite was tsunami wontons which was lobster and crab over wontons. It was delicious! The calamari was crispy and flavorful. The dipping sauce was really good as well. The surface was a little slow, so therefore the reason for the four stars. Otherwise, the food makes it a five star restaurant! The view of both the bay and the ocean was an added bonus. It was worth the drive from Rehoboth Beach. Situated on 138th Street on the top floor of the Fenwick Inn is the bar and restaurant. I found it a bit dated looking and unlike the pictures online. There were 2 bartenders serving the night we went one which was very attentive and another that walked past my empty cocktail glass three or four times without asking if I wanted another. That triggered my decision to move on. The expresso martini that I was having was in fact very delicious and one of the best ones I ever had. All of the cocktails that were being made looked very good. I will have to go back to try their jalapeño margarita and hopefully they will have better service. read more

SUCH a cute vibe! Totally unexpected! We happened across this place because it is located on the rooftop of the place we stayed in (Fenwick Inn). We were coming back to our room after checking out a bar/tavern across the street and thought we'd stop by for a drink or two. Walking in off the elevator, you are greeted by a cute "Good Vibes Only" sign. You walk into a huge open space with seating for dining and the bar. The decor makes you feel like you're in an upscale/trendy restaurant/bar. Very cute. We decided to sit at the bar. Here's what we got: - Smoked Old Fashioned: my husband ordered this and thoroughly enjoyed it. They serve it to you right before they take the smoker off, so it's a nice little treat to see. He said it had a great balance of the smokiness, sweetness, and bitters. - Lavender Haze: I will say that the lavender taste wasn't as prevalent as I would've liked, but it was still a good drink. And strong too! - Lemon Drop Martini: this drink was not as sweet as I would've like and extremely lemon-y! Tasted like straight vodka and lemon and no sweetness. It wasn't bad, but not what I'm used to in lemon drops. I will say it did taste refreshing lol. - Manhattan - exactly what you'd expect from a Manhattan. Gets straight to the point, no sugar coating or cutting corners. Delicious. The bartenders were very nice and attentive, even though it was busy and close to closing time. The food is mediocre, and the service is pitiful. On top of an impatient assumed to be manager, our server took a (timed) 16 minutes to take our DRINK order from the time we sat down. Afterwards took ANOTHER (TIMED) 20 MINUTES to serve our drinks (all of which were fountain sodas and 1 strawberry lemonade) Maybe he was taking a few breaks at the beach because he would get lost for ANOTHER 15 MINUTES before he would come back and check in to take our food orders. He takes our orders, doesn't offer to refill our empty pitchers of water and is on his way. Despite my dad point at the item on the menu and speaking of the burgers in the context of order 2; one for him and one for my grandpa, we receive 1 burger plated in front of my grandpa. In addition to the cheese on my brothers burger being incorrect despite the concise clarification of the cheese selection as he ordered. The server briefly apologized for the burger mishaps and had another 20 minutes or more before the 2nd burger came out. Did not come back to check in and on top of THAT 20% gratuity is ALREADY included. The host staff and management were rude and very unpleasant. I am local to the area and Vista was one of my go to's! Tsunami Wontons were to die for, full of lump crab meat....WERE being the key word here. First the price raised to 25 for 3 Wontons...and now they are stuffed with imitation crab meat with one lump on top to 'mask' the change. Very disappointing! Then we got a bottle of wine for $58.00....that iI found for $22.00 at a local liquor store. Seems like a bit of price gouging and deteriorating in quality ! read more

We went here a couple of times while staying in Fenwick - there is a decent view of the beach, which honestly you can't really get from any bar this far north of OC and there is a decent happy hour menu -- crushes for 7.50?!? YES PLEASE! But, watch out, they are strong! Their Figs and Roses cocktail was one of the best I had in the area and their smoked old fashion is pretty on point (at least that is what my husband told me, and he had plenty of them -- I don't drink bourbon). I would steer away from their smores martini though - it looks cool and who doesn't love a gooey, toasty marshmallow? - but the drink itself fell flat. It needs something creamy to bring it together -- their super secret espresso martini on the other hand... is wonderful! Food was also pretty good. The tsunami wonton were tasty, but messy - grab some extra napkins! And we really enjoyed the Thai peach wings - another dish needing extra napkins not sure why we choose all the messy dishes... and I enjoyed my tuna poke bowl, which considering what they charge for one of those in DC, was well worth it. The bar crew were energetic and friendly and there was live music both times we went during the week - I think we were there on a Wednesday and Thursday? Honestly, don't let the fact that it is in a random hotel deter you, it's well worth a visit... or two! read more

The good news is that the food quality has vastly improved since five years ago. The bad news is that the prices have vastly increased. The service is still lacking. They seem to have no concept of runners or waiters pouring additional wine. One lactose intolerant person asked for French fries instead of potatoes au gratin and was charged $3 extra-- for French fries!! There was no warning of the additional fee. Great view, but I'll stick to a drink or two at the bar in the future. read more

We went to the Vista Rooftop, on the top floor of the Fenwick Inn (which despite the name is actually in Ocean City) for Easter Dinner, 2025. Besides the regular menu, they had Easter specials. I do not recall whether the dishes we ordered were off the specials sheet or not. If you have never been to the Vista, you should really give it a go, if only for a drink or two. The view is spectacular in three directions (not sure you can see to the north). A view of the ocean over the houses to the east, and to the west, Assawoman Bay. It used to be a regular on our restaurant rotation (years ago). Not sure why it dropped off. There was live music (classic soft rock) when we arrived. We arrived a bit early, at five for dinner, and were quickly seated. Our waitress was Joanne, and she was helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Very good service. We skipped the appetizers. On the specials menu, there were not "appetizers" and "entrees" listed, it was just one list, and this may have caused some confusion. My wife and I shared a side Caesar salad, which the restaurant accommodated graciously. The salad was good as non-table side salads go. It was nice that it was not swimming in sauce, which most restaurants seem to think is de rigueur. "Caesar" is not Latin for "overdressed." My wife ordered a swordfish dish. She had never had swordfish, but found that she enjoyed it. Pretty sure this was a special. The odd thing, however was that the swordfish was not served in a steak, as is common for this dish. Rather, the meat seemed to be sort of flaked, and formed in a croquet shaped pile, with a sauce on top. While not unpleasant, as I said, she enjoyed her meal, it was a bit unconventional. The other lady ordered sea scallops, and they appeared pretty much as every scallop dish not served in a heavy creamed sauce. They may have been broiled. The lady said her dish was very good. The other gentleman ordered salmon, which he pronounced as very good. I ordered lamb medallions. They were listed as medallions of lamb, with a tomato based sauce, and potatoes, the exact name of which I do not recall. Basically, they were a stack of scalloped potato slices, which were then coated and deep fried. Now, I love potatoes (no, I am not Irish), and when you mention potatoes, cheese and frying, what could go wrong? I didn't know what to expect from the name on the menu, but what was delivered was delicious, and even somewhat filling. Which turned out to be a good thing. The lamb turned out to be basic lollipop chops. Three of them, and not particularly meaty. While Joanne had asked if medium rare would be okay (it would), what came out was more medium well. So, the lamb medallions turned out to be basically three bites of lamb. With that portion size, I wondered if I had ordered an appetizer as my entree? Had there been one more lollipop, it definitely would have been an entree. But since there were three, and not very thick, it seemed more an appetizer, even though no differentiation was made on the specials menu. See the confusion? The potatoes definitely saved the dish, but I really hadn't ordered a potato dish, I had ordered lamb, which was lacking. Now, keeping in mind that three out of four in our party were totally satisfied with their plates that's not a horrible performance. Coupled with the view and Joanne's good service, I'll give them 3-1/2 stars. We'll try again sometime but with so many fine restaurants in OC, it might be a while. read more

Amazing place! The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. This place could easily be missed since it's on the roof of Fenwick Inn and the sign is somewhat small. Once you take the elevator to the top floor you will be pleasantly surprised. The decor is beautiful and serene. Dougie was our server and he was probably one of the best wait staff we've ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant. We came for lunch but will come back for dinner. One suggestion would be to add some of this triangle shaped shades and a misting machine. Was excited to give this a try. I can see returning for a night cap, but for a mostly empty bar our service was poor. The bartender generally ignored us and when finally asked if we wanted food he yelled the ask from across the bar. Live music was nice but loud as was the drunk crowd at the bar area.
