I'll start by saying that I ordered food from here through a delivery service, so I had no in person interaction with staff, nor did I see the restaurant itself. With that said, I loved the food!! This is a great place to fulfill your shrimp taco cravings. There are so many good spots for carne asada and Mexican in general in the 626 area, but I think this is the best spot for crispy shrimp tacos! The shrimp are large and succulent, with the perfect, crispy batter and toppings. They used to do the shrimp tacos like Mariscos Jaliscos, with a crispy fried hard shell, but they are normal tacos now. I also recommend their ribeye taco, which is $10 but worth it. The steak is seasoned well and cooked medium rare and just hits the spot (tastes more like a high-end taco than your typical carne asada tacos). All three of the salsas pair well with all of their tacos, especially the habanero. All their agua fresca options are tasty as well, especially the melon and cucumber lime. All in all, this is a good spot to stop by for lunch or takeout (there are a few patio tables off to the side). read more

Online ordering is a breeze - but accuracy of estimated timing can be hit or miss. My faves are their breakfast burritos, the fried fish taco (soft taco) and the potato taco which has a hard shell. I would pass on the fried shrimp taco in the future since it's not a great value. My last order came with 2 small shrimp. On the other hand the fried fish taco comes with a huge fried fillet and is very tasty. Food tastes good overall -- definitely better than your average taco truck. The burrito was solid, the fries were really good, and the mild salsa had great flavor. The tacos were okay, and the torta felt like it was missing something, just not as flavorful as the rest. What brought the experience down a bit was the service. Ive gotten food poisoning the last two times I ordered it (a week apart) the first time, I had the runs for almost a full day. the 2nd time, had the runs for a few hours (it was the only food I had eaten that day). It is conveniently located next to a smoke shop and a liquor store. We ordered 2 burritos (asada and carnitas) and a serving of asada quesadilla which came out to $35. I came from an event with my child and hubs was working at home. He did an online order, mentioning something like phone orders were no longer accepted. I told him my ETA & he was told 20-30 mins. I gassed up across the street and probably got there a few mins before 20mins. Hubs texts that it is ready. When i parked in the tiny square , parking was quite sparse but managed to get one. I went straight to the pickup window. It was already there, and the girl handed me the bag, only confirming the name on the order. I left promptly, happy to eat as soon as we get home. When we got to our dining table, i noticed there was no salsa. Not only that, the carnitas was incredibly dry, almost as if its been on a heating tray all day (its already 7ish pm at this point). also it was made up of the undesirable parts of the meat, and i think the rice even had corn in it, which gave it an unexpected and unwelcome sweet flavor. Anyway if anything, the dryness of the food couldve been offset by salsa, but they didnt provide any. So. Yeah. It wasn't good for us. Probably wont be back for a while. Wow. What a great little joint. Walk-up window with some outdoor seating and AMAZING food. Before you even consider the great value prices. We did a quick search when we were hungry after a day of travel and sightseeing. The name alone made me want to learn more. We decided to jump in and order takeout since it was only a block from our Airbnb. The menu item that jumped out immediately was the BBQ Chicken which was a chicken quarter served with rice and a small side salad. This spot has been my go to for chicken chilaquiles. I used to love it for breakfast. Chicken was tender juicy and flavorful and have been coming here for years ever since they opened. Fast forward to 2025 and the quality has plummeted. My last order of chicken chilaquiles was unflavored chicken and dry. The sauce was not the same and the chips were stale. This was just after they increased prices also. Not sure if ownership has changed but I don't see the original owner there anymore. He used to always be on site. The lady handling the pick up window always forgets something, sauces, utensils, napkins you name it. Previously, I rated Spanglish Kitchen lower because of their use of black plastic containers and utensils, which are concerning due to potential health risks. That being said, I want to give credit where it's due: the food itself is consistently very tasty, and I really enjoy the flavors. I was happy to see that they've already upgraded their food containers to the eco-friendly brown cardboard ones--that's a great step forward! My only remaining concern is their continued use of black plastic utensils. Once they move away from those as well, I'll gladly update my rating to a full 5 stars. I got the milanesa torta with fries and it did not disappoint. The torta was crispy, flavorful, and stacked with just the right amount of toppings. The bread held everything together without getting soggy, and the meat was tender with great seasoning. The fries were hot, crispy, and actually seasoned well, not just tossed on the side as an afterthought. Everything came out fresh and fast, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The bacon was super fresh and crispy which was surprising. Inside included bacon, eggs, onions, tomato, cheese, potato, pinto beans, and cilantro wrapped in a flour tortilla. I would've liked if the beans were refried instead of whole but still good! I think that's what made it filling. Asada Fries (4.5/5): I expected more toppings on the fries. You can add pico de gallo for free but you have to pay for guac. The portion was okay. The fries were good though. It had nice seasoning and crisp. There was a good amount of steak.
