    Pharos burgers

Place very clean. Bathrooms spotless. Parking limited. Covered outdoor parking. Staff very friendly. 5 stars on Customer service. They have 3.75 cash discount. Which is great if you have cash. Highly recommend this spot. Having the hamburger and orange bang. Hamburger quite tasty and worth it.

One of Alhambras staple American style diners. I've frequently pass by but never had a chance to stop. Pharos open up pretty early, so they are definitely ready to serve up breakfast before work. Nice quiet, with the news playing on the TV. This particular morning I woke up craving a breakfast burrito, it was going to be cold so the situation also calls for a large coffee. I got myself a large coffee (it's about 8 ounces not that big) the combination burrito isn't listed but it contains all 3 meats. Very hearty sized heavy burrito, it's about 7-8inches long about 3inches thick. Very dense. Make sure you get some sauce, I forgot to get some before I left.

They make very solid breakfast burrito. Yum. Not too much potatoes (or at least doesn't taste like it's all potatoes). Everything taste really well together & bonus, it's not a messy eat. $10.39 Junior cheeseburger is junior size and comes with onion. It was yummy too, but, onion! $4.99 Fried mushroom is very good. Crispy on the outside and plump. Not too salty or oily. Don't see a lot of places selling this item. $7.99 Small fries is decent amount. Fat fries, typical burger joint. $4.35 They're located in the east-er end of Alhambra so a little far! Otherwise I'd be coming by more often.

If you're looking for an alternative to In-N-Out, just look across the street. Pharo's Burgers is old school in the very best way: the people here are friendly and will actually talk with you like a neighbor, the regulars come in and the cashier knows their names and orders, the dining room looks vintage but clean, and the food is good and reasonably priced. And you never have to wait in a horrendous car line. Come support this neighborhood joint!

Breakfast Burrito with Bacon $10.39 (Cash Price)

What I Ordered: -Breakfast Burrito with Bacon $10.39 -Gyro $9.29 Pro Tip: Pay cash and Save $. If you pay with your card, you'll pay approx. 3.5% more than cash. It is in your best interest to pay cash! This was my first time coming to Pharo's. I read in an article in SFGate about how Pharo's has stayed in business for several years despite be open directly across the street from a very busy In-N-Out. I always love supporting local mom-and-pop joint. I knew I had to give it a shot. I love their unique lighthouse sign as well! I didn't know what to order per usual. I was told that the Breakfast Burritos, Burgers and Gyros are popular. I was bit hungry. I opted to order the Breakfast Burrito with Bacon and the Gyro. The Breakfast Burrito with Bacon was very good and good sized portion for price. The cheese had a nice sharp cheddar taste to it, which was nice. They didn't skimp on the Bacon. My order was too much food even for a big guy like me. I ended up eating the whole Gyro and 1/2 of the Breakfast Burrito. I heated up the Breakfast Burrito the next morning and it still tasted great. This might be my new go-to breakfast burrito spot close to home. The Gyro was good. The tzatziki was good as well. It was stuffed with onions and some tomatoes as well. The pita tasted very soft and fresh. This Gyro is real deal. I don't think you can find a better Gyro anywhere else in the area. I really wanted to try the Fried Mushrooms as that's apparently a bestseller as well. I will have to try a burger as well as they are Pharo's Burgers after all. I always say order the food that's in the name of the restaurant and you can't go wrong. My only complaint is the lack of salsa and hot sauce with the burrito. I'm a newbie to this place. Perhaps, I didn't look in the right place as I'm not one of their regulars who know where to look for it. Other than that, this place is a great no frills kind of joint! I will be back very soon!

Breakfast burrito + green sauce = happiness I haven't been to Pharo's in years so I can't speak to the customer service, location, or the other food items, but my mom has recently been bringing me their breakfast burritos and they're so good that I've started to crave them. The burrito itself is solid and filling with the perfect ratio of potato, egg, bacon (which I don't feel like they skimp on), and cheese but it's the salsa (specifically the green one) that brings it to the next level. For me, it's the perfect amount of spice--the kind that adds lots of flavor with minimal heat. As someone with a moderate spice tolerance, I would say that it's not even spicy. It's so good, I would drink it straight. Would definitely ask for a second or even third container if you get the burrito--trust me, you'll want more.

Bill and Tas are the best!! They've been here forever and for good reason. Everything is made fresh! I have to stop myself from getting the zucchini fries everytime I'm in the city. Definitely get Zucchini fries, fried mushrooms and the classic cheeseburger!

Cheeseburger special 7.84$ including tax. It's a cheeseburger and a small fries and a drink.

I love this place ! I have been coming here since I was in elementary school with my parents and now my daughter gets to experience the food here too! When I was younger I would share the bacon breakfast burrito with my dad because it's huge! & now I get the pleasure of doing that with my daughter , this morning we got the bacon breakfast burrito and my husband got a small chili cheese fries. Everything was great as always. The burgers are tasty, the fried zucchini is a favorite of mine as well! The owner has always been friendly. They have lots on the menu to try and it doesn't disappoint.

Sometimes I crave a cheese burger, but don't want to stop by a fast food franchise. This was a perfect time to try Pharo's Burgers. I stopped by on a Friday at around 6:30 pm. There was a parking lot, but it's shared with other businesses. Despite being busy, I was able to order and get my food within 10 minutes. While I didn't eat in the restaurant, I enjoyed the vintage interior while waiting for the food. It really has an old school diner vibe. There were also some benches outside as well. I got the bacon cheese burger with everything and a side order of small chili cheese fries. The burger had a nice char taste to the patty. The bacon had a nice crisp and the tomato and pickles were soaking all the burger juices up! The burger had a good ratio of everything, which balanced the taste. As for the chili cheese fries, there was obviously a lot of cheese and chili. However, it didn't taste overwhelming compared to some other places. Keep in mind the fries will be a bit soggy if you wait a bit before eating. I also think the small size was definitely a lot and shareable for two people. Note: American Express is accepted.

Have been going here since I was a kid, always a must-have whenever I'm back in town. I'll be honest, I didn't actually know it was called Pharo's BURGERS until recently because we only ever get the gyros, the mushrooms, and a salad haha - all of which are so excellent. Have tried plenty of gyro places elsewhere, but I always come back to this as the standard to meet. And the fried mushrooms are a bit of a craving every once in a while too. Miss the pickled carrots in a bag, not sure if they still have those! Busy with good business, and glad to see it, classic vibe and family owned (I think?) - have been seeing the same faces for years, and they remember too even when it's been a while.

Taquitos and fried mushrooms are BOMB!

YUUUMMMM!!! This is your typical California burger spot. No frills, nothing fancy, just good food served quickly with very friendly and helpful servers. Owner (sorry, missed his name) seems to know everyone in the neighborhood, including the entire SPPD. He always recognizes us and greets us like we're family. Everything we've tried is delicious, but our go-tos are the omelets, breakfast burrito, gyros and OMG the fried MUSHROOMS! Careful, because they're boiling hot served fresh out of the fryer. They are hand breaded (but not too heavily) on site We have become regulars and you will too!

There is parking in the shared strip mall or the dedicated lot on the other side of the restaurant. There is ample parking for the business. We got 2 Turkey burgers, 1 mushroom burger, fried mushrooms, fries, and taquitos. Overall the food was comparable to Jim's burgers, which we think is quite good, but not as good as Paul's Place, which we think is the best local burger shop in SoCal. Pharo's has better buns that are tossed better than Jim's, but the rest is comparable. Jim's gives you more fries than Pharo, but Pharo has better tasting fries. Paul's had better fried mushrooms than Pharo, and Jim's does not offer these. Pharos taquitos seemed like frozen store bought that they just fried up--Paul's are better. Pharos Taquitos came with a lot of guacamole, which was good quantity, but it seemed like just out of a store jar, so quality just ok. The man who served us seemed like the owner and he was very nice. Overall, we would definitely come back here and recommend you give them a try. They are closer than Paul's Place and just a different style than Jim's. A lot of people were getting Pharos fried chicken on our visit but we didn't try it. Their onion rings also looked good, but we will try them on a future visit.

You order at the self kiosk machine then pay and wait for your order to arrive. It took about less than 10 minutes because it wasn't a packed house, and that was good. Signs directed us to order beer at the cashier, only to find out their taps were down, leaving just two canned option; neither appealing to us. That should have been our cue to go. We placed our food order at the kiosk and waited on uncomfortable bar stools in an uninviting space lacking both decor and warmth. By the time our food arrived, regret had already set in. On the plus side, the food was served hot and looked good. The brussels and sweet potato fries were decent, but the double burgers were just okay. One highlight: staff put on the World Cup match at our request, which was appreciated. Overall, though, I keep wanting to love this place, but it doesn't live up to expectations. Not sure I'll be back.
