This was only a short walk from downtown, and featured a lively bar, decorated with charming Christmas odds and ends. The bar featured a large selection of what looked like 100 beer options, and I was pleased that they had a few gluten-free beer options for myself. It was very cold outside, down to about 18 degrees, so we went up to the 2nd story patio (i'm happy to report they had an easily usable elevator for myself and my powerchair), and that the tables were setup with fire pits in the center to warm us up. This was a nice detour and is a great spot to grab a beer if you're visiting downtown.

The menu board had plenty of options that caught my eye, but I knew the mission when I walked through the door -- BURGER! I ordered the Oklahoma Smashie, a double smash burger with two beef patties, American cheese, grilled onions, pickles and Goose Sauce. This was a very tasty burger! The patties had those crispy edges you want from a smash burger, the cheese was melted perfectly, and the pickles and sauce pulled everything together. For my side, I went with the cucumber salad. I really wanted to like this one, but unfortunately it was the slight disappointment of the meal. It wasn't bad, it just didn't hit the same level as that burger. The Goose describes itself as a dive bar and sandwich shop, but I actually found the place pretty interesting. It has that comfortable neighborhood-joint feel -- nothing fancy, just a cool place to sit down, grab some food and enjoy lunch with a friend. Service was also excellent. The person working the counter was friendly, answered all of our questions and offered some great suggestions without rushing us. Overall: 4 's from me. The Oklahoma Smashie definitely delivered, and looking at everything else on that menu, I've already got a few reasons to come back. This one is absolutely getting a return visit!

The not-so-great: 1) parking situation needs work. It's really hard to get around the small parking lot in the back when it's busy. It seems like an accident waiting to happen. I was completely sober and was having a hard time navigating around the large vehicles that were parked all over. 2) it is really hard to find with just a tiny sign outside. We drove past it twice even though we were using GPS. Overall, we loved it and will be back. It's totally worth checking out.
