I used them a year ago. Found them on Craigslist. They were pleasant enough on the phone so I went ahead and booked them. On the day of, 2 guys arrive, late. One who didn't speak much English who did most of the work, and one who wouldn't shut up with his colorful perceptions of various demographic groups of the city. As they trampled through my home, my carpet in their outdoor shoes, I expected them to move basic furniture around such as dining room chairs in order to clean the carpet around them. I didn't expect them to toss my chairs, feet first, onto my nice clean sofa. Nor did I expect them to have their equipment, tube and all, on my nice clean comforter, on my bed, when cleaning the carpet in my bedroom. Dumping the dirty water into my bath tub and toilet was fine, but a curtesy flush and rinse off the edge of the tub would have been nice. They trampled through my home, through the wet carpet again on their way out. Once the carpet dried, it was kinda of cleaner, but there were edges that still look dirty. The owner of the company contacted me for feedback. I politely told him what I thought. He apologized and offered a free cleaning. I scheduled my free cleaning a few months later. I scheduled for an appointment earlier in the day so that perhaps they'd arrive ontime rather than late. I gave up after 3 hours of waiting and let the building addendent let them in. They arrived about 1 hour after I left, 4 hours after the appointment. They get one star for showing up to do a decent job. They get one star for attempting to correct past mistakes. read more

I reached out to sparkling carpets to treat an huge, old turkish rug of my mother's that had been stored uncovered for a couple of years. I reached out via their webform in Sunday and Ken texted me that day with a quote and arranged pick-up the next day. Cleaning took over a week, but for good reason: they had to wash it multiple times, treated it for moths and treated sun bleaching. It turned out lovely. read more

So I say this, and quite emphatically STOP FUCKING CALLING ME!!!! ------------------------------------------------- So 2 years later I am regularly receiving a recorded call from this place telling me I can get a deal from them and to press * to talk to an agent. I did to tell them to stop calling, take me off their list of clients and no one ever picks up a phone. When I first wrote this review they contacted Yelp to ask that i take my review down that it was untrue and I was lying. HA! The reviews that give this place an overall higher rating are clearly not written by anyone who has used this service. I think that's clear by all the reviews since my own. Absolutely spectacular service from beginning to end! We had a last minute need for carpet cleaning to get our newly vacated rental unit ready for our incoming renters. Not only were they able to accommodate us on short notice, they were friendly and professional from beginning to end. Communication was on point. I received an Email with a quote and a text the morning of confirming the work. The techs called a call to update me on their ETA and after they arrived and examined the carpets, thoroughly explained the process and went over what they can do. And the next day, they even followed up to make sure I was happy. The work Itself was outstanding. While the carpets were fairly new (they'd just been replaced about 18 months before) the renters were not kind to the floors. There was significant staining and strong pet odors. I had my doubts about how much they'd be able to lift. These gals got those carpets looking like NEW!!!! I took pictures of the before for deposit deduction purposes but I wish I had also taken pictures of the after to Illustrate the excellence of their work. Truly astounding and no more dog smell! Well, maybe they're on the rebound. My wife was unhappy with Stanley Steamer and we saw a Sparkling Carpet truck in our neighborhood; so called them. They showed-up on time and Rachel and Katherine were both really nice, easy to communicate with and took their time cleaning our 12 by 15 carpet in a street-level apartment. They were super nice. They did say that the carpet should dry within 4-6 hours and it took much longer. Also, now that it is dry, perhaps not all of the doorway stains were cleaned completely. They did a great job. Upon arrival, they looked at each of the areas we wanted cleaned and then promptly started working. They did a very thorough job and removed each stain, and cleaned our couch too, where our dog sleeps, and made it much nicer. The carpets felt nice and conditioned, as well as spotless. Rachel, one of our technicians, was very sweet and friendly. She told us that if we saw anything we didn't like after they left, we should call and they would come back and fix it free of charge. Sparkling carpets deep cleaned our in-law unit when we moved in. The carpet looked unsalvageable with dark stains everywhere. Fortunately, since it's synthetic carpet, as opposed to wool, sparkling carpets was able to restore it to its former glory. They also did their best with a wool rug we have...it's very sanitary now, but being wool, the cat pee stains are there to stay. They also deep cleaned some couch cushions for us removing cat urine odor with great success. They were professional, warm, friendly, and very talented with carpet and upholstery cleaning. Negative stars here! I'm absolutely horrified and mortified!!! I got home last night to find my Mother-In-Law (who was home watching my 8 month old son alone) extremely frazzled and shaky from the technician attempting to hustle her for an additional $200 cash after she already paid $250, and $50 tip for him to just leave! She was quoted $200 on the phone and email btw. I had used this company once in the past, but this time they didn't get any of the pet stains out which is the whole reason I used them again (we had our carpets cleaned in July with a Green Cleaning company and I thought they didn't get the stains out bc we needed to use chemicals or something). I highly recommend you do not use this company with shady thieves working for them. I am absolutely appalled and I hope to save others from making the same mistake we did. read more

I had my small sofa cleaned by Sparkling Carpets today and I wasn't impressed. There were a few *very* minor stains on the seating that I wanted taken care of, and I wanted an overall cleaning to remove the general dust and grime that has settled into my sofa over 6 years of ownership. I think my sofa might look worse now that it did initially, since some dirty water or whatever left a noticeable mark in the corner, and near the top back portion. Yuck. Also, the guys doing the cleaning barely said 5 words to me the entire time. Not that you have to be a chatterbox but some courtesy and explanation of what you're doing is in order when I let you into my home. Oh, and they left a bunch of water on my rug. It would have been really easy to move this rug, do the cleaning, easily clean up any water that had gotten onto the hardwood floor, then replace the rug. I guess that was too much trouble. I mean, the rug has to be at LEAST 4' x 6'. All this for 100 bucks. Amendment: I'm downgrading my original 2-star rating to 1-star after a few more weeks of being annoyed at the marks these guys left on my couch. read more

I would not recommend using this company. Save your money and find a different carpet cleaning company. I wish I had looked at yelp first to find out how many poor reviews this company has. I have been using them for a few times and they did an okay job, but on my last service call I asked them to clean the couch. They charged $300 for cleaning a couch. The couch costs brand new about $600. This amount is insane. I was expecting about $75 or maybe $100 at the most. Find another carpet cleaning company with a better reputation. read more

The people that came out to do the work wasn't AAA Sparkling Cleaners (as the name and address was different on the invoice)...the price was right, there was no hidden cost and they fit me in on the next day. That said, they did a decent job, he was informative, but not very detailed in his work. In the end, the "4-6" hours to dry changed to "24hrs" ended up being close to 72 hrs before my feet/socks wouldn't get wet...so that was a bit of an eye opener. read more

The sales rep are quick to quote over the phone (cheaper than most places i called) and schedule a technican to do the job. The tech they sent was nice but was underprepared with tools to clean our carpets. I could of rented a Rug Doctor and gotten similar results. I would NOT recommend this company and will end up spending more money to call another cleaner to finish the job correctly. Save the trouble and call someone else.
