This place! My favorite boutique hotel. Our cabin was wood paneled like we'd wandered into a forest in ancient Japan, except with striking abstract art. The floors were stone and the shower was enclosed with stone. Outside the front door, we could lounge in front of the pool and enjoy the cooling effects of their misting system (it really did bring the temperature down 20 or so degrees), which they lace with sage and lavender. It's so relaxing. The other door led to a private patio where I fell asleep on a bench under the dense trees and awoke to see five hummingbirds about a foot away. I didn't mingle with the guests like my husband, but I guess the communal dining encourages it. This is a place for learned people and, during our stay, a few rock stars. Sparrows Lodge is a gem. Our friends stay here all the time and we go for drinks at their awesome little bar. I love grabbing a glass of wine and wandering around the property, glass in hand. It's delightful. The lighting is dim and there is just the best vibe here. The employees are all super chill and they have the coolest little selection of wine and appertives. A few bar snacks, too. The rooms themselves look amazing... super cabiny chic. If I didn't have a place in Palm Springs, I'd practically live here! read more

Please be very careful before deciding to book at this property. Making a reservation here was one of the poorest decisions I've made in a while. I saw the tasteful photography on their website and everything looked so perfect. Indeed so much is very nice here. I figured it would be worth spending the almost 600.00 a night fee (when you add taxes on a weekend rate). What the heck, I'll splurge, I thought. It looked worth it. I drove three hours to get there at check in time and was taken to my room. Get this, they walked me to my room that was less than thirty paces from California State Route 111. Every time a car, a Harley Davidson, a huge semi truck drove by, you could feel the air impact the room. The headboard is literally on the wall closest to the busy road. I just spent over a thousand dollars for the worse two nights of sleep I've had in months if not years. And of course it was one of those weekends where there were no other rooms in town that I could get. Imagine being so very much in need of a relaxing escape, being lured by the pictures of the pool and beautiful serene setting, and then not being able to sleep for two nights due to the traffic going non-stop all night. Other low-points: I walked to my friend's room and it was like a dark cave. The morning breakfast doesn't offer anything warm, so imagine something less fancy than a Comfort Inn's free breakfast. Not enough pool side lounge chairs for all the guests. The shower head in my room was so high and the shower such an open concept, that there was no way to take a shower without the water spraying the bathroom floor, sink area, essentially anything in the bathroom. The patio outside my room has two large windows on the side that were someone else's room. So even attempting a private conversation is impossible, much less having an after dinner drink at night without feeling you're waking them up. They think that the rocks outside of the casitas should be swept at 6:50am on a Sunday morning. High points: nice, though small, pool. They were very cool about people having dogs with them (for a price). The design approach is consistent and cute, if basic. The personnel here were all very nice. Nothing I say here detracts from the fact that the employees were very friendly. (But I'd be pretty nice too if I knew how much money I was making off of people for highway-side camping). Please do yourself a favor and ask if you want to stay at a place that hired a great photographer to make it look perfect on-line, only to find out that you're tossing and turning all night on the side of what Wikipedia calls "the main north/south state highway and retail corridor through the Coachella Valley." And by "on the side," I mean less than fifteen yards. read more

My hubby and I stayed here January 2nd - 4th, 2014, and I'm happy I waited to write this review because honestly I didn't want to be the first person to leave less then 5 stars. So now that they've received some bad reviews, my 4 star review doesn't seem too awful. Let's start with what was right about the Sparrows - the look of it was rustic chic and old Palm Springs. Perhaps a small sign in the faux lobby area asking guests to proceed to the barn would have been nice. But the pool is filled with really warm bath-like water and whole place just makes you want to relax. We stayed in a garden room which includes a horse trough tub. (Fantastic!) And a rainfall shower. The linens are soft and expensive feeling. And the room had a nice private garden patio area out back too. There are libations served in the barn all day - beer and wine. And the included breakfast is simple - granola and yogurt, baguette and jam, etc. They mentioned that they are trying to get a pizza oven. But there are places nearby so you can bring back dinner or snacks. At night the jacuzzi and pool area are lit up wonderfully, and there is a fire pit in the garden area where you can relax with a cocktail and make smores. The barn closes up around 10:00 p.m.-ish and you're on your own until the staff arrives again in the morning. No phones, no TV's, no loud music, no bell boys, nothing to disturb you. This place is like a summer camp for adults. It was really nice to unplug from the rest of the world for a few days. Now, here is where things went wrong and I had to take away a star - they have a strict policy that you cannot check in or even drop off luggage until 3:00 p.m. So we planned our day to arrive at 3:00, swim for an hour, by 4:30 we'd be at happy hour listening to a jazz band, 6:00 walking the street fair. Great plan, right? We arrived at 3:00 p.m. They had had a wedding the day before and were still cleaning up the rooms because I guess everyone over stayed. So the garden room we'd been assigned to wasn't ready. They asked us to wait at the bar in the barn. I'd just ridden in a car for 3 hours. Last thing I wanted to do was sit and wait in a hot barn. But we were nice guests and did what we were told. As we're sitting there we notice the wine bottles (duh!) and ask for 2 glasses of wine. Which we sipped for over an hour until our room was ready after 4:00. And they charged us for the wine. First, I feel the wine should have been comp'd to us for our inconvenience. Period. Next, since we had sat there for an hour we saw others arrive and get chaperoned to their rooms and welcomed inside. We were handed the keys and told our room was ready. Uh, can you give us a hint as to where our room is?? And why weren't we extended the courtesy that every other guest received and led to our room? And, because we did want to swim, by the time we arrived at happy hour late there wasn't any place for us to sit. :-( So they did put a damper on our first night in Palm Springs. Our whole time schedule was thrown off. They had only been open a couple of weeks when we stayed there so we scratched these things up to their inexperience. If you asked me to close my eyes and think of someplace relaxing I would envisioning myself lounging poolside in a chaise lounge at the beautiful and tranquil Sparrows Hotel. From check-in to check-out Sparrows Hotel is the absolute definition of vacation. When you check in you're greeting by a friendly employee and a Sangria. Complimentary sangria?! Sparrow you're doin' things right my friend. You can count on that kind of accommodating service your whole stay. Overall they're pretty hands off and leave you to your relaxing but if you need something they're on it and even come around the pool every once in awhile with popsicle to help you with the cool-down process from that relentless Palm Springs sun. They also have misters going most of the day which really helps you beat the heat. I read some reviews about trouble checking in and I have to say I saw none of this so it seems to be something they've remedied. If you follow my hotel reviews with any consistency you'll see that my only real major deal breaker is cleanliness but at the Sparrow this was a utter non-issue. Everything was organized and immaculate, so lets move on. The rooms are simple and elegant. They have bigger suits which I peeked in - they were beautiful, next time I'll have to spring for that. A Portland-er I felt that same at home, woodsy, hipness I've come to love. My room was near the pool and I had no problem with noise. Note that was was staying mid-week. I chatted with the staff about this and they said they try to keep a chill vibe and don't fancy themselves a party spot which was what I was looking for. I felt like I was staying in a beautifully adorned cabin. There are no TV's, phones, radio, anything like that. Which came as a refreshing reminder that I'm out here to disconnect. There is no temptation to turn on the tube and see who won Project Runway, instead you can go stretch out by the fire pit at night, grab a drink in the bar, sit in the spa or take one of their games and head out to play at a table under the stars. The salt water pool is beautiful and surrounded by chaise lounges. There are a few chaise lounges under the room eaves which will get you out of the direct sun. You can't help but smiling as you soak in the sun and look up at the hills and palm trees. Bring a good book and for me this is the picture of relaxation. This hotel is 21+ so you won't find any kids splashing around. Being an Oregonian being in a pool is a thrill, to be in a pool without children..well that's a dream. The water is such that you walk out feeling clean. The hot tube is great to, the perfect way to end your night. Each morning you're welcome to breakfast from 8-10. They have a few options, I opted for a baguette with butter and jam. My husband got a yogurt which was drenched in fresh fruit, perfection. While it's a small detail it's something that really stuck with me - They had a dispenser full of ice cold fruit infused water waiting for you at every moment of the day. I felt so spoiled to fill my water bottle with this decadent treat. I imagine this hotel isn't for everyone. For me, it was perfect. If you're looking for a full service hotel that you can call anytime of night for room service or a robe, this isn't it. While they service food it is a limited menu and I'm unsure how long they serve. There is no salon on sight. If you're the kind of person needs to be close to a TV, this is not a good fit. The Sparrow is low on frills, yet manages to have frills in all the right places. If you want to disconnect, slow down and enjoy the sun this is it my friend - book right this moment! Writing this review made me feel sick with nostalgia to come back. It was truly a perfect vacation experience and I can't wait to return. read more

Check out the photo posted on Yelp of the sign with the two Sparrows on it. This is what to look for while searching for the hotel. The name is not posted anywhere. The renovation (transformation is more like it!) has resulted in quite a beaut of a hotel, in a very low key kind of way. Very rustic, yet polished - small, yet comfy - casual, yet higher end. Loved it. Nicely appointed, from the bed with the eggshell mattress topper, the private back patio with day bed, the cute horse trough bathtub, to the open/airy shower and even the small sink was cool, too. The two bed tables are tiny, but very functional. Lots of attention on the little things (L'Occitane toiletries, wool camp blanket, locker for valuables). It all worked in a very lovely, unpretentious way. Dogs are welcome and the owners' two friendly Flatcoat Retrievers are on site quite a bit.. Complimentary coffee is served in the barn each morning. You'll also be served your choice of easy breakfast...sliced baguette with butter and jam, granola with Greek yogurt and berries, or a muffin. And you know, they don't wait until you approach the bar to ask for it. The staff will seek you out. We loved sitting at the very large stone fire pit each night - eight Adirondack chairs fit around it easily. The bar sells beer and wine though they are fine if you BYO. Two things: the lighting in the bathroom could be improved. And - the walls are paper thin. My gf had a horrible cough - I felt so sorry for our neighbors. We could hear them too, even when speaking in normal voices. Oh yes, they offer a killer Bloody Mary in the mornings made with a rice vodka. It'll burn your tonsils out! read more

Sometimes you fall in love with photos of a hotel, you book, and then you show up...and you've been deceived by fancy illusions, creative lighting and crafty photo taking. Not here. I promise you that all of the beautiful pictures of this place are a true reflection of how breathtaking, calm, peaceful, colorful and amazing the Sparrows Hotel is. We were here for a short one night, two days trip in Palm Springs and were so sorry we didn't arrange for our trip to be longer so we could have enjoyed more of the grounds. We arrived, found parking easily, and walked through the grounds to the barn where check in was a breeze and we were given some glasses of champagne. We immediately toured the grounds and occupied every hammock, bench, chair available to us. We fell asleep under the orange trees for a bit and woke up in time for a quick swim and hot tub session before dinner. There is someone in the barn 24 hours. When we returned from our party, I struck up a conversation with him and then had too much champagne. I woke up the next morning with a nasty hangover - which made the breakfast in the barn that much tastier. Eggs, toast, tea, cofee. Yes, please, and thank you. We absolutely cannot wait to get back out to our little sanctuary in the desert. read more

This place is simple, elegant and absolutely lovely. The rooms are not luxurious and decadent, but they are artfully designed and aesthetically exceptional. The pool is wonderfully warm and clean, and despite a full house we always found chaise lounges available. This is a quiet refuge for mature guests and exactly what we were looking for in Palm Springs. My suggestions: upgrade the bikes as it is nice to have the option to ride into town; switch up the breakfast choices so that monotony doesn't set in after day two; provide some clothing storage/hanging options in the rooms. For the price, these are truly exceptional accommodations. I can't wait to return! read more

Sparrows is divine and relaxing. The staff, Josie and Doug are all very gracious hosts, they are accommodating and really want you to have a great stay there. The rooms are beautiful, rustic and took us back to Costa Rica. The open shower and tub were magical. LOVE There is plenty of water, tea, coffee, wine and beer flowing. If Jackie was still their manager, I'd give this place a 5. Service has definitely gone down the drain with the new manager (I learned Jackie is at their sister hotel, Holiday House, which I'm sure is being run with the utmost professionalism and hospitality). Sparrows is still a beautiful place to visit for a quick weekend getaway and we've now stayed there 3 times. Just know it's not like it was in the old days and service will be on the amateur side. We're talking being told, "Hold on," "Wait," "Come back and ask me later" by the front desk when you've already been extra mindful to wait for the right moment to ask about time-sensitive information and have waited 15 hours for an answer. The iron you ask for is broken. The blinds in your room are broken and they do nothing to repair it so you just leave them down your whole trip and deal with a darker room. Forgotten lunch orders. The manager, who knows you're a regular guest, is kind enough to apologize, but comps you the cheapest item you ordered, the salad, not any of the other items you've been waiting on for over an hour while you watched everyone else at the pool get their order. None of these in and of itself is a big deal, but the accumulation of all of them points to a deterioration in service and short-sighted management. None of this stuff used to happen before. And be prepared for them to move mountains for VIP guests, and do nothing to accommodate even the smallest request from you. Dinner at the barn: Worth it. Book well in advance (like at least two to four weeks out). Massage in their new outdoor massage tent: Worth it. read more

I stayed here with my husband and I felt very disrespected because he has a disability because he can't hear well... We had the manager come up to us and tell us we are too load... We paid $250 he told us you can't stay here and he would refund our money.The day before the staff was really nice so I felt really confused.. I felt that I had to use sign language to stay here! The place was really nice but make sure you live up to their standard because they will make it known. The owner was here the day of and he was really nice but his manger Tim was so rude telling us we needed to leave. I will never see stay here again. Just make sure if you stay here too use your regular voice because you will be asked to leave. They have so many places to stay in palms Springs and this isn't one! read more

FYI - rating for the bar only. Stopped by to have a drink after seeing the hip ass pictures on Yelp and was very happy we did. Mind you there's some strong hotel game in Palm Springs and each with their own little ambiance, so it's hard to know what to expect. Sparrows is much like the PBR sipping feel of the Ace plus the fun party atmosphere of the Saguaro. It's very approachable and fun, plus they carry a wide array of beverages to satiate any wallet. We got a bottle of Rose and sat in their picturesque little cabin area right by the pool. Staff is super friendly, check wasn't too threatening, and all the little nooks and crannies are filled with random nick knacks to keep the eyes wandering. We're totally going to come back and rent a room here, very stoked on the scenery. read more

If you are looking for a quiet place in Palm Springs, the Sparrows Hotel is not the place to stay. The website leads you to believe you are signing up for a relaxing getaway... There are no TV's in the room and the grounds are absolutely beautiful, which makes you think relaxation is what you'll get... Unfortunately, that's not the case. They play music (loudly) at the pool all day and into the night. It's no different from any other hotel in Palm Springs. The 1 star is merely for it's beautiful 'facade'...it looks nice, but once you check in, it's all a lie. The website also says "plush mattress toppers" but instead you get an egg-crate (think college dorm) mattress topper. If they really wanted to stand out, the no TV, "quiet" serene like atmosphere would have been more than 5 stars. Super disappointed. read more

Sparrows Lodge was everything we could have wanted... and MORE! The most perfect sized, rustic cabin feel rooms. (Our pool room had a large private back patio that was such a nice touch to the room itself) Impeccable service. (LEVI IS TO DIE FOR!) Delicious food. (You have to try the burger!!! It's one of the best we've had!) Great selection of wine and free popsicles and sangria when you check in! It's peaceful and relaxing - exactly what we were hoping for. Beautiful, original Boutique Hotel unlike anything in the area! My husband and I frequently take trips to Palm Springs to unwind and relax. We've stayed at the Parker, the Viceroy, the Rivera, the Rendezvous, and a number of other hotels and boutique hotels in the area. Sparrows Lodge is unlike ANY hotel in Palm Springs, and I mean that in the BEST way possible. The design and layout is cute, clean, relaxing, fun and romantic. The rooms are very large, very clean and while people say the rooms are simple, I think its what makes this hotel fantastic. I was pleased to see the L'Occitane bath products, and couldn't wait to use them in the tub which is an oversized water trough. The bed was so incredibly comfortable with the whitest linens I've seen in a long time! I've read remarks about how the bathroom doesn't offer a lot of privacy, but I personally appreciated the wide open space rather then a tiny bathroom that gets hot in two seconds. My husband and I spent the majority of our time in the pool which is about as refreshing as they come. We played horse shoes in the back, and Scrabble in the bar/barn. We were looking for a romantic getaway and that's just what we got! We found the staff to be accommodating and were treated with such kindness that I am left speechless. We will absolutely be coming back to Sparrows lodge without a doubt. *As an event planner I'd like to make a side note that this place has the cutest and most intimate setting that would be ideal for Weddings and other events. read more

What an outstanding place to stay. Highly recommended from the girl that's over the top and has HIGH EXPECTATIONS because I believe you work hard and should play even harder. The place is absolutely stunning. The rooms have nice soaker tubs, the beds are very comfortable, which is a must for us. The stone is the room is so gorgeous. The all adult lounge is quiet and well maintained. The staff is so attentive. We didn't sit in the garden not for 10 mins without someone attending to us, our glasses no matter if it was water or adult beverages never sat empty. The breakfast, Is well put together and will also exceed your expectations. Homemade banana bread. Yum. My husband picked this place as a surprise for our anniversary and he did very well. No TV's in the room. Just him & I enjoying life with a pool, jacuzzi and beautiful garden right outside our room door in a private area. We will definitely be back. want the owners to be super successful as deserved but I dont want everyone knowing about this place... THATS how amazing it is here. I did a solo retreat getaway from LA and loved it - the design, vibe, landscaping, all the staff, the customers, location, everything! Also, free parking, a simple nice breakfast w coffee, wifi, free bikes (which I used to run to the store to buy toothpaste), and great company of guetss and staff alike. Decent poolside wine selection too - and I noticed the staff walk around the pool day and night offering free cool treats to sunbathers! (popscicles, ice cream bon bons, etc) along with poolside drinks (for a moderate price) My basic garden room was huge, roomy, gorgeously decorated, massive shower area kinda outdoorsy but private. Area quiet and lots of privacy if you seek it. I could have burrowed up on that cozy room all weekend, the type of place to get away to write your novel! To note, we usually stay at either The Parker or The Ace, and this place may very well be that game changer. Quaint oasis in the middle of the desert. If you are looking for piece and quiet look no further. We had a room by the pool and it was perfect. Our room had a beautiful garden area in the back that was secluded. Woke up for breakfast pretty early and the selection was slim. I'm not a breakfast person anyway. Perfection. The location was exactly what I was looking for... quiet, serene, beautiful. I was traveling alone, and was very comfortable there. The rooms were straight out of a magazine, and the garden was the perfect place to read a book. Everything was simple and lovely :) This isn't for everyone. If you are looking for rocking nights with unlimited margaritas and a party pool, the Sparrows Lodge isn't it. If you are looking for a place to refresh yourself in a beautiful setting, or to have a romantic getaway, go here. I'll be back. read more

My hubby, pup, and I were welcomely greeted with sangria and a goodie bag (for the pup). Everyone is so quiet and respectful for each other. The place is mellow and modest. No parties, no bratty kids, no poor mannered dogs. Just peace and quiet. Gorgeous grounds, cozy little areas to hang out, and super nice rooms. Ours had a private patio. The complimentary breakfast was so yummy. A toasted chocolate muffin and minty hot tea was a great start to my day. We wish we could have spent more than a night there. We will be back, you can count on that. read more

This place was simply amazing! Oasis for the soul or hippie lovers paradise. I went out for business and felt truly treated by my colleagues setting me up at a place like this. The simplicity set the tone and guided your expectations. Nothing was overdone but at the same time you can see how much time was put into the details. Staff was attentive, fun and friendly. Coffee was superb, room accommodations were modest but well put together. The negative end isn't much. Female who checked me out could have been more friendly, accommodating like the rest of the staff. Bill was prepaid but she made me feel stupid during the explanation process. In the end it was prepaid and she offered no apology. Sad after all the great it ended a bit sour. Fyi it was not the blonde girl! She was lovely as well as both of the younger gentlemen. I highly recommend this place for anyone traveling to Palm Springs or on the outskirts looking for a getaway. I'll be stopping by my next time in town, just won't prepay :). read more

After a long hot car ride from LA I was greeted with the most delicious, icy cold glass of sangria I have ever tasted - blackberries, raspberries and peaches swirled in crushed ice at the bottom of my glass ...ahhhhh, just what the doctor ordered. The atmosphere here is truly laid back and unpretentious and it's impossible not to relax. The staff is five star - personable, attentive, sincere, amiable - every single one of them. My rustic-chic room was all ready for me, AC and ceiling fan on, crisp white bed linens, sunflowers in a galvanized bucket, sprig of rosemary in a vase in the bathroom, Malin + Goetz toiletries, two bottles of San Pellagrino sparkling water and even treats & poop bags in a little paper sack with my dogs name written on it! I'm hooked - I've already made reservations to come back in October with friends! DOG PEOPLE: Oh yeah, you can bring your dog, as long as you keep him/ her on a leash when you're on the hotel grounds. There is a very nice dog park not too far from the hotel with actual GRASS! The staff is SUPER dog friendly and made some great dog friendly (patio seating) restaurant recommendations for me. read more

Two Birds.Two Thumbs up. I had the unexpected pleasure of staying at Sparrows this last weekend on a quick trip to Palm Springs. Having no expectation or idea of what I would come to find, the simple truth is that some diamonds truly are in the rough. First impressions through the barn doors, the flowing pool, calm fountains, and charming courtyard invited immediate relaxation. A warm but thoughtful simplicity ran through the entirety of the property, which allowed us as guests to feel all the comforts of home without all the bougie scene, restaurants, and cell phones of other hotels in Palm Springs. The rooms were inviting and spacious. With a roaring fireplace, large seating area looking onto a desert oasis courtyard, a bathroom with a huge horse trough bathtub and rustic open shower, the accommodations were divine. The serenity of the space coupled with the small size of the hotel made sitting around the pool or natural wood fire pits as personal or community oriented as we wanted it to be depending on who else was around. It was such nice departure to be able to lightly converse and interact with both other guests and friendly staff as we pleased, as compared to feeling as though we were in a cramped space that everyone else is in looking for privacy. And with wine and beer, breakfast and snacks always available, there is little left to be desired. I can not wait to return and stay at Sparrows again soon. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates the sophistication of simplicity coupled with all the comforts of home... and none of the relatives. read more

The premises are intimate and beautiful, the TV-free rooms encourage you to unplug, and the friendly staff make everything so seamless and easy. The food is DELICIOUS. All in all, a perfect getaway. when booking my visit to palm springs i was torn as to where stay as there are so many options and so many different types of hotels in the palm springs/desert area. i forget how i stumbled across sparrows. i was impressed to see so many good reviews on yelp and trip advisor (i couldn't find a single bad one) and let's just say, it did not disappoint. you can believe what has been said. it is a gorgeous hotel with so much character. we had a pool-side room which some people complained can be loud but we had no problems. it was very chill and relaxing. the bed was super comfortable and the rain showers had excellent water pressure (love the malin + goetz toiletries). the staff is nice and friendly. they make an excellent complimentary breakfast and we had fresh grapefruit from one of the trees in the garden during our stay. one evening i enjoyed s'mores by the fire too. there are no TVs or phones. plenty of board games. they have bicycles for rent and i went on a ride one morning around the neighborhood. i highly recommend the sparrows :) great price for what you get! read more

Wanted a quite and relaxing getaway from busy Los Angeles where we could bring our dog, Ernie. Sparrows Lodge was the perfect spot. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. From the complimentary sangria, to the super relaxing rooms that have blackout shutters, lights that dim, and the most amazing shower and shampoo/conditioner. But what won me over was the hospitality. The staff took the time to know our names and we're just as friendly and genuine as can be. We have already recommended it to friends and would absolutely come back! Only complaint is that we didn't stay long enough!!!! Thanks a ton Jon and Jackie!!! read more

The most unique, relaxing, and quietest hotel I've ever stayed at. It's definitely a one of a kind little retreat you & whom ever stay at. The interior inside & outside design is gorgeous-rustic barnyard. Very clean. The pool chairs are very comfy has well. We will be back on our next Palm Springs trip :) read more

What an awesome place! My now Fiancé and I stayed last night; having just proposed before checking in Jason and Jake greeted us with congratulation and popped a bottle for us! We had a late breakfast and Jason had no problem giving us a late check! The room was truly unique and just brilliantly constructed with great thought. Charming and quaint- the grounds are kept beautifully and the rooms are clean. The house manager is friendly and very attentive!! They serve great food and burn sage in the pool area. We had a minor issue at check-in; they changed our room without our knowledge which left us with a smaller bed than stated in the room description. When we brought attention to the importance of us having the larger bed, they did accommodate us. Lastly, my husband and I booked a couples massage for the day that we arrived and we were not impressed- the therapists were only ok, they seemed rushed and the treatments were very expensive! read more

Amazing hotel that checks all the boxes. Great attention to detail, beautiful rooms and grounds, delicious food and drinks, super clean, excellent helpful staff (especially Nicole, Hiro, and Sam), and in a perfectly relaxing location just far enough off the Palm Springs strip to really feel like you're in your own world but close enough to get downtown in a 5 minute Uber. My wife and I sleep like babies here. I love that it's adult only, even if you're just stopping by for lunch, they really respect that people are there to RELAAAAAAX. We've stayed in hotels around the world and Sparrows Lodge is in our top 5. We're repeat customers and can't wait to get back to the most lovely oasis hideaway in the desert. 5 stars for relaxation, no kids (21 & over), great service, & the coolest rustic decor in the rooms. It's like staying at your family's cabin for the weekend complete with fire pits, a game of horse shoes, and the best part...they bring you Popsicles poolside!! This is the ONLY place we will stay going forward when we come down to Palm Springs. Already planning out next trip back. read more

I almost don't want to write this review because this is a perfect hidden gem I want to keep to myself haha. No but seriously, I loved it here. The ambience is relaxing and you almost forget you're in the middle of a desert. The room was a bit dark but I actually really enjoyed that. As everyone has already mentioned, there is no tv in the room which at first feels weird but turned out to be one of my favorite things about this place. On top of the great time we had there, I forgot my ID and the staff at Sparrows Lodge sent it to me! Loved the customer service even after leaving. I will definitely be back.
