Aesthetically this place is nice but the service was horrible. We walked over from Ace - don't recommend on a hot day. It's been on my list for a very long time and have stayed at their sister property many times. Sat at the bar for some early drinks. The place was pretty empty it was about 3:45 and we ordered one of their signature drinks I asked if there was any room for dinner and she said they are booked in a condescending voice asked if we could order a cheese board and she said she they were all out. I asked if the kitchen could throw one together and said they are premade so no but she would give us gold fish?? The place stayed empty and I over heard a few walk in's come in after so we left. Never supporting this place again.

We had a truly intimate and memorable dinner at The Barn, nestled within the charming Sparrows Lodge. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the general manager, Alex, who not only greeted us but personally served our meal inside the beautifully restored barn--once a working stable from decades past. Today, it serves as both the hotel's check-in and its sole dining venue. The Barn operates with a one-chef kitchen, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We discovered it through the Michelin Guide and are so grateful we chose it to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The food? Unforgettable. My husband and I will be dreaming about the cherries and burrata for a long time! The entire meal was the perfect summer dish, especially in the heat of Palm Springs. We left feeling full, yet light--nourished by ingredients that were clearly fresh and high quality. The ambiance was serene, cozy, and quaint. Service was a flawless 10/10. Alex and his small team do it all--welcoming guests, serving food, clearing tables, tending to the guests at the pool, cleaning the pool grounds and even managing check-ins. While that might seem like a lot for one team, we found it added to the charm. It gave the entire experience a personal, homegrown touch that's rare to find. We're already planning our return--next time not just for dinner, but to stay a few nights and soak in all the warmth this little desert oasis has to offer. Alex and his team made our anniversary one we'll never forget. Thank you!

My partner and I loved this spot. We stayed here for 4 nights in a room with a kitchenette, a living area, and bedroom nook. We almost went with the room that had the fireplace but I'm glad we didn't because our room was tucked back and peaceful vs. the room with the fireplace is in view of the diners in the evening. Speaking of dining, we ate at the Sparrows lodge 3 of the 4 nights we stayed there because it was THAT good. Fresh and delightful food. The warm cookies were on point. The breakfast is also banging. They somehow flawlessly run on a very small staff and I cannot say enough good things about them. They really care about your experience. Overall, we highly recommend the Sparrows Lodge

Sadly, I am writing a negative review because I really wanted my husband to know how special Sparrows is to me. This is my 7th or 8th visit spanning 4 years. I did speak with the GM, Alex Carlo, about all the things, but his overall response to me was, "Thank you for letting me know and I'm sorry this happened. I'll review this with my team." Unfortunately, I'm huge on customer service and this time they did not achieve the 5 stars I usually write about. These weren't minor issues. Check in was a communication fiasco. Sparrow's said our room would be ready soon. 3 hours later and just after 4pm I walked back to the barn and they gave me one key. This was after going back every 20 minutes or so starting at 3 pm. Next, there was very little left for breakfast the first morning because "they did not anticipate they would be sold out." And once the items are placed out, that's all. Lastly, every morning (3) I had to wait for coffee. Sparrow's is known for treating their repeat clients with a personal, cute "welcome back" note and a little something like a hat or special bag which I really missed this time. Also, I was not given the little brown bag with sage at checkout. I feel sad that this happened because I really cannot support a business without impeccable customer service.

7/5 star review. The energy of the sparrow will resonate with any guest on levels yet imaginable. Sparrow is a beautiful amalgamation of palm spring foremost hoteliers, Richard and his husband Jeff. Their other two creations, holiday house and bar Cecil are delights. Sparrow felt like walking to a fairy dream land, with bonfires and beautiful souls, coupled w tremendous energy. We saw ourselves in the people working and staying at this hotel. Looking into the other employees and guests eyes, felt an immediate transcendental connection. The hoteliers wrap themselves in other peoples negativity and use it as a shield. Negative reviews were plastered on bathroom wasllls bc they're so secure in themselves. The sparrows lodge is the embodiment of old world meets new in Palm Springs. Richard and Jeff have created a beautiful container that exists within the Palm Springs ecosystem. Will be coming back for cookies, s'mores, the water features, and spa music in the zen garden.

Love this room! Can't wait to try the others !

Exactly what I needed, how I needed it. Sparrows Lodge is my new staycation home, far surpassing the larger place I used to stay at in Palm Springs. The abundance of art and the coolness of the staff immediately won my heart. Checking in at 9:30 pm, I appreciated the calm and chic approach of the bartender/receptionist, which was a perfect welcome after a long day of travel. This place has no TV or phones, a feature I hope stays forever. It felt deeply reviving without those electronics, making it a true retreat unlike most rentals. The signature beds were incredibly comfortable, and the rain shower with authentic Grown Alchemist products was a standout experience. As a gay guy, I felt completely comfortable tanning in my speedos and welcomed by the inclusive atmosphere. The staff wasn't intrusive but ensured I was well taken care of. This is 2024 service: people helping people, not catering to entitled travelers. I will be back and will bring others with me. As a big hairstylist, I'll recommend Sparrows Lodge to everyone and try always love my recommendations. Best digital detox ever.

A sweet gem in Palm Springs. The Sparrows Lodge Restaurant did not disappoint. From our summer greens, to our market fish (halibut) and grilled cauliflower - our entrees were fresh and delicious. There are two areas to dine - both with nice ambience - inside with cool air conditioning (which we preferred since it was 104 degrees outside) and outside under the trees. We weren't brave enough to dine in the heat, but we noticed a few guest have copious amounts of cold water and ice and margarita's on hand. Our only recommendation would be to expand the libation list to offer a variety of wines and cocktails. The property is charming, so be sure to wander and explore. We would love to experience an overnight stay in the upcoming months, so we'll be sure to book ahead!

THE SECRET IS OUT Nestled in the heart of Palm Springs, Sparrows Lodge is the ultimate desert oasis for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of LA. This chic and stylish boutique hotel has been a favorite among celebrities and travelers alike since its opening. Over the years, Sparrows Lodge has played host to a number of famous faces, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Justin Bieber, and Kendall Jenner, just to name a few. And it's no wonder why - the hotel's secluded location, rustic charm, and understated elegance make it the perfect retreat for those looking for a little peace and quiet. But it's not just the celebrity sightings that make Sparrows Lodge so special. The property boasts an array of amenities, including a communal barn for socializing, a poolside bar, and some simple farm-to-table quick bites. If you're looking for a little pampering, the hotel's spa offers a range of treatments that will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. I've been here on several occaisions just to sit and sip on some wine and enjoy the ambiance of the pool, the fire pit and the "barn". The sign is really hard to find..

We were originally supposed to stay at Holiday House but due to their unexpected pool remodel we were moved here. I was bummed about the change of plans but our experience here made up for it. The vibe made you feel like you were far from town which I appreciated because it made relaxation that much easier. Upon check in we were greeted with a welcome sangria (delicious) and super friendly hosts. It was my fiancé's 30th birthday and we were upgraded to the owner's suite! The suite was beautiful and I loved the aesthetic. The first night we ate at the on site restaurant and it was delicious. Kudos to the chef! In the mornings, we took advantage of the free breakfast. It was NOT cheesy at all and really a great offering. The pool was so chill and the misters offered a cooling relief from the heat. While we were chilling at the pool the staff would walk around burning sage which offered a whole other relaxing element. At night, there was complimentary s'mores by the fire and you better believe we took advantage! We also ordered some snacks for lunch and they also DID NOT disappoint. Thank you to the whole Sparrow's team for an unforgettable time. We will definitely be back!

I grew up in San Diego and we had a second house in Indian Wells so I used to come out to this area often growing up and it's good to be back in a comfortable setting. I would say that the Ritz Carlton is probably the best hotel in the Coachella Valley given that there are very few other five star options. It's located in Rancho Mirage pretty much right in between Palm Springs and Palm Desert. It's located on the top of a large hill so it has great views of the valley. They have a steakhouse on site called The Edge, which has it selling feature being these views and the great steak. The hotel is not extremely large. It only is three floors, but it's a perfect size in that it doesn't seem too large or too busy ever. We chose the club lounge which allowed us to have free food and drink pretty much all day and they did a great job with adding new options to the menu. There is not an on-site parking lot so it will be valet parking only. Originally opened in 1988 and then reopened again in 2014 after a major renovation this place has been a staple of the desert for decades. It's a decent size hotel with views of the mountains or city. Starting from the nice valet welcome to the friendly check in experience. This hotel is cute and is part of the Kimpton chain. Very clean and modern vibe. The lobby offers that crisp detail modern architecture. There's a bar located along one side which the check in is on the opposite end. Elevator are to the other side. Two restaurants on the property. One on the main levels while the other one being more of the upscale dining experience on the top floor. Beside the rooftop pool with spectacular view of both mountains and city views. The poolside bar is great for happy hour and enjoying the outdoor. 4 Saints which is the upscale restaurants on the top floor also have a beautiful view of the mountains view. They too have a nice happy hour with bar bites that's worth checking out. Highly recommend the stuffed dates. I think it's only open for dinner. Beautiful decor and a nice outdoor balcony. Rooms are clean and modern. You can't beat their layout and of course there's the social hour that happens during the afternoon. Cocktails and mingle. If you feel like a nice day out, they have bicycles that can be used to enjoy the city. The location is great as it's in the middle of town. You have the museum right behind you as well as the Marilyn Statue. Shopping is literally out the front door of the hotel. Restaurant, bars, coffee shops, wine tasting and plenty of souvenirs shops are all out the front door. If you want a property that's easy to get around from place to place, this is your best bet. Service is great and the staff are all very friendly. If you're looking for a hotel that host pool parties, this may not be the place for you. Pool is small and caters to a more relaxed vibe.

Shops, restaurants, museums and other sights are all within easy walking distance. It's even directly across from the Forever Marilyn statue. We've stayed at several IHG properties before, and when we choose one, it's usually an InterCon rather than a Kimpton. So this was our first time staying at a Kimpton. I had wanted to try one as an Ambassador before Kimpton was removed from the eligible hotel list, but we finally got our chance. Perhaps because it's Palm Springs, the hotel feels small, or maybe it really is small. I'll admit I don't know much about art, but walking around almost felt like being inside a mini museum. I really liked the styling. It made the place feel warm, welcoming and full of character, rather than another bland corporate hotel to spend the night. Our room was upgraded to a mountain/valley view with a balcony. The beds and pillows may not be the best we've experienced, but they were comfortable enough that staying in bed all day sounded very tempting, especially with the hellish Palm Springs summer outside. Unfortunately, the heat defeated our plans to try the rooftop pool. We ended up retreating to the cool and comfortable room instead. Perhaps next time around, preferably when Palm Springs isn't trying to roast us alive. My wife and kids absolutely loved the robes. The texture gave them a nice touch of comfortable luxury. The bathroom design, though, still had me scratching my head. The shower and toilet were basically in clear view of each other. LOL. Not a deal breaker at all, just an interesting design choice. The front desk staff were warm and helpful throughout our stay. My apologies for not remembering any names since my brain was already cooked by the heat, but Kudos to everyone. They also gave us a 1:00pm late checkout on a Saturday, which we really appreciated. All in all, we really enjoyed our first stay at a/the Kimpton Rowan. We would definitely come back.

This place is a true gem, maybe a hidden gem due to the negative reviews as of lately…read more My husband and I booked this place for a quick weekend getaway. I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. If you are expecting a sterile, high end, resort feel for your stay this is not your place... but otherwise this is a great choice! I couldn't help but feel bad for the owners with all of the really bad reviews on here because that was truly not my experience. I left off one star because there are definitely areas of improvement that could be made but not enough to ruin my experience.

There are 10 rooms available and each one is a different theme in the 1950s. I stayed for two nights in the Crooners room and I enjoyed my stay a lot. When I arrived, Tim, the inn keeper assisted me with my room keys and showing me around the property. My room was decorated with the Rat Pack and I loved it. All rooms are a maximum of two people with a hot tub, refrigerator with water, microwave, and coffee maker, air conditioning, and DVD player. If you'd like, bring a DVD and popcorn to enjoy during your stay. The bed was pretty comfortable. There were more than enough pillows which I'm guilty of using more than one pillow while I sleep. I love how the comforter was linen on the outside, but cozy and warm on the inside. The Crooners room has two sinks, but I only used one. There is happy hour everyday at 5pm by the pool or communal area with snacks and beer or wine. During my stay there were chips and salsa and the following day was veggies with dip, with of course a drink of choice. Really nice touch added to my stay. It's been a while since I have stayed in a bed and breakfast and I love the homeyness here. Breakfast is served in the communal dining area with hand sanitizer provided. The three-course breakfast starts with a fruit smoothie, a fruit parfait and a hot breakfast. For breakfast they served blueberry pancakes with sausage and the following day it was quiche with artichoke hearts and potatoes. I loved the service here so much. You sit at a table and they serve the food to you. The pool is open 24 hours will pool floaties available to use as well. Another thing I like about this place is that because there aren't many people (max 40 people at a time) it is highly likely you will get the pool to yourself. When I checked out and left the property I told my husband I would enjoy staying here again. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend you stay here too.
