CAR SCRATCHED ON PROPERTY! Stayed here on my bday. Nothing special was done or offered. Upon checkout I discovered that my car door was scratched down to the metal. My car was right in front of the entrance. Upon informing the front desk clerk I was told they would release camera footage to insurance company or police. He also told me his car was hit in the back of the building a while back so clearly this place is not safe to park your car. Police report was filed and insurance notified. I contacted Chris who seemed nice at first and said he would release the footage, but only to police not insurance company. May 12 police came out there and they were told footage would be emailed to them. After I follow up again chris tells me that my car wasn't in view of where the camera angle was facing. UMMM my car was about third to the left facing the entrance of the hotel. Are you telling me that the cars parked n front to the hotel do not have camera coverage. Something smells rotten here. I asked him to still release the footage in case the officer maybe sees something. NOTHING has been given to police. Is there actual parking lot cameras that work is questionable. Beyond the fact that these guys wasted my time and ruined my birthday I now have to pay a $500 dollar deductible. So a very pricy stay. My car door will have to have the original paint stripped. Not a safe place to park your car per my experience so I will not go back. I've been going to PS for over 20 years and have stayed in numerous places and my car was never scratched at any other hotel. Why was the footage not provided?? Zero accountability here. I regret staying here. On another note of something sketchy that happened here is in the morning when we were at the breakfast provided that was pretty picked over with nothing replenished (not a good look) a woman comes up and says she was charged a 700 dollar deposit. She goes back and forth with the front desk clerk who denies it and she shows him the withdrawal on her phone. He says he'll refund it was a mistake. Cut to--I ask for my final bill upon check out being freaked out about what I heard guess what--they tried to charge some espresso's onto the account. I say " um we didn't order these. " Again I go back and forth with the clerk. He removes it. I then ask about the chips and guacamole I ordered the other day and how something that is 15 dollars turned into 21 dollars since we weren't even given the check. He explains they added a tip without my authorization. Chris did comp this by taking away the resort fee. Check your bills folks upon check out. Point to this whole thing I do not want anyone else to go through the stress of having your car be damaged on their property and since their cameras don't cover the front of the building if they even work at all just thought people should know. I wish there were more than 5 stars, as our experience this past week was truly exceptional. Even before we arrived, I was able to interact with Sergio via email to confirm our stay and the accommodations for our dog. The property is gorgeous, the room was amazing, thoughtfully decorated and so quiet. The entire property is well maintained, peaceful and relaxing. We ate a number of meals in the barn, as it was surface of the sun hot last week in PS, as it is wont to be in August, and we didn't want to leave. The staff were great, the food was really quite good and well plated. We met some nice people while we were there as well. No stress, no Karens (though it's hard to avoid the entitled and angry these days), and life was good. We plan to return in the winter for another relaxing time. If you're looking for a hidden gem, this is IT!!! We didn't stay here, but we did have a beautiful lunch here in their little garden setting outside on the patio. It was quiet, tranquil, peaceful, and a good meal! It wasn't the best food we had all weekend, but the setting made up for that! I wish we could have booked a massage- guests only (next time!). STOLE MY ITEMS!! The hotel receptionist Colby checked me in and then an hour later proceeded to steal My Rolex watch, Diamond Bracelets and other jewelry items, he even stole my rental car keys since they were all in a pile together on the side of the bed. I notified Colby not thinking he did anything then he immediately came in the room to help me look again this is after me and 3 other of my guest looked all over everywhere. Then he claims he found it in a place I know for sure I didn't leave it but no keys. Then after a lot of back and fourth my keys turned up in plain site on the counter where the bath robes are located, this is after I called the police and made a report. I proceeded to ask Kris the manager if I can have a refund and stay else where because of this and was told no and to relax and chill here he said "aren't you have a good time". I got extremely frustrated and had to purchase a room else where because I didn't feel safe leaving any items there. I will still proceed legal action for this matter which is extremely unacceptable to have happen to me. How would my keys turn up in plain site on the dressers and how does Colby find my items after 4 people looked through a 250 sq ft room over and over again. Shady Hotel if you have valuables I would not stay here. read more

I soooooo badly wanted to LOVE this place, as my father raves about it endlessly and bought my husband and I a night here as a wedding gift. Sadly, we are leaving disappointed, but I can see the aesthetic appeal of this place. Pros: super cute ambiance, romantic setting, quiet, no kids, intimate garden space and pool. The staff was very friendly upon our arrival, there were flowers on our bed and a bottle of champagne in our room. The dinner sounded pretty good but the menu was quite limited, so we opted to go out instead. The lattes were pretty tasty. The shower and bathtub were awesome, the decor and vibe of the room was very rustic and sultry. The vintage looking modern fridge was useful, and there was a nice coffee maker in our room as well. Spacious, with vaulted ceilings, and a nice gas fireplace, the room itself had a cool layout and overall feel. There was also AC in the room which we didn't need. The soaps smelled soooo nice and had quality ingredients. The citrus trees and little herb garden were beautiful, and I love that they allow dogs. Cons: the room reeked of sewage from the bathroom, and we were next to the maintenance room so there was quite a bit of noise before we fell asleep in the evening. The bed was probably the worst bed I have ever slept in, totally sunken in and creaked when we moved. The breakfast was laughable, I understand covid creates some interesting obstacles, but grocery store bought banana bread, instant oats, and deli sampler salami and cheese? I was surprised, since their regular menu boasted artisan and local faire like Cowgirl Creamery cheese and Harris Ranch beef. We didn't eat any of the food so I can't attest to that part of the Sparrow's experience. The girl at the desk when we checked out was SOOOOO impersonable, she didn't make any eye contact, was short and uninterested in engaging, and didn't even ask how our stay was. The rest of the staff was great. Overall, the image of Sparrow's is amazing. The bar was beautiful (though I didn't drink anything), and the grounds were well kept and aesthetically dreamy. The quality of the stay is where I would like to see improvement. The terrible sewage smell needs to be addressed, I would have said something at checkout, but the woman behind the desk was so short and rude I didn't want to deal with her energy any longer than I had to. The curb appeal is here, but it's the details that really matter and this is where Sparrows Lodge missed the mark. Replace the bed in room 17 and fix that sewage smell and maybe we would consider coming back. I would also talk with the woman doing check out and breakfast service on the morning of 1/31/21 about making eye contact, being cordial, and asking guests how they stay was, instead of scrolling on her Apple Watch and dismissively answering questions with sharp one-liners. Reviews like this may have been avoided with proper customer service etiquette. For around $300/night I would hope management doesn't miss an opportunity to make necessary improvements and keep their guests happy and returning. read more

This place is amazing. I'm not even sure where to start. First off, I have to thank Sam, who checked us in and showed us around the place. If I was writing an article on what makes a hotel concierge perfect, she is the example. Truly made us feel like we were the only guests there. The place is amazing. I've been here a few times and honestly it just keeps getting better and better. Usually, I stay in the same room when I'm there, creature of habit. But the place was pretty booked, so Sam suggest room 1. It was close to the street, but not an issue at all. Private and so, so cozy. It has a private little patio and it's perfect for the time you want to relax on your own away from other guests. The pool rooms are just as amazing. Comfortable, and come with a shower and tub. They're a little bigger, but again, all these rooms are great. Glad I tried a different room. The food is stellar. The morning breakfast is simple and so satisfying. The atmosphere is something out of an Anthony Minghella film. You'll get lost spending the day at the pool. I highly recommend this place. Thank you Sam and the whole staff. ADULTS (21+) ONLY! Always a plus! :) We checked into Sparrows Lodge last week, and I loved it!!! I really wish we could have stayed longer but we'll definitely be back. Gorgeous place. Great service! Parked the car, opened the first door (front reading library lounge area) I saw - glanced around and then caught sight of the sign that read "find us in the barn". Perfect! I love Barns, let's go. Walked past the pool and met Israel as soon as I slid the barn door open. Checked in, and let him know I was hungry ;) (what else is new? I'm always hungry). He fixed up some delish sangrias for us, and I put in an order of hummus and flatbread while he showed us to our room. This place is really fun, think adult summer camp cabin. I loved the lighting, windows and décor. The exposed rain shower is incredibly sexy. Our own private patio with plenty of seating and a water feature was very lovely. I love that their water features are on, to keep the bird friends nearby cool and hydrated. We were able to catch awesome views of the Full Moon in the morning before sunrise. Really, I can't find one negative thing to say about the place. The light in our bathroom was out which I suppose we should have asked them to replace but we didn't, and just used the mini flashlight that was in the room and made do. There was an overly friendly, need to chat up everyone, talking incessantly (not to me of course, maybe my resting bitch face helped to avoid them) couple near the pool that somehow found a way to slightly alter the relaxing aspect of a bit of our pool time but once they left, it was pretty peaceful. I was escaping LA, not coming to hear their opinion and review of every place in existence while I try to relax in 109 degree temps but you know, sometimes you get those types. Our hummus was very nicely done! Our sangria with blueberries cold and refreshing, you'll want to keep ordering more of these. We took the bicycles for a spin early Friday morning and Colin helped us get these checked out and all set up as he was finishing setting up such a nice breakfast in the barn, which we enjoyed upon our return and before a morning dip in the pool. Love this place! Great location, friendly staff, private, peaceful oasis that I very much look forward to visiting again soon. read more

my partner and I enjoyed a nice meal here at Sparrows. We were offered to toast a 'S'more' over the fire pit for dessert, which we did. There were 6 other people sitting around the fire pit, having drinks and mostly looking at their phones. There were MANY empty tables and places to sit, but the server told us we had to leave because there were other people waiting for our spot by the fire. We had just barely finished our meal and we were asked to leave. We are a quiet couple enjoying a nice meal. Why were we asked to leave? Why didn't she just say there were others hoping to sit by the fire and you are welcome to hang out in the other hundreds of available seats in the courtyard. I've been to many high end restaurants all over the world but never been treated so rudely. read more

We had such a wonderful stay at Sparrow's Lodge. If you want to truly disconnect and just have a calming and relaxing experience, I would definitely book at Sparrows. It is a 21 and older experience. I loved everything from the moment we walked in. The whole feel of the lodge is very cozy and country. Their pool welcomes you when you first walk in and it is a nice cool escape from desert heat of Palm Springs. You check in and can get your complimentary Sangria. The rooms don't have any phones or televisions which allows you to disconnect from the electronic world and just truly enjoy the time for yourself or with your partner. Everything was truly enjoyable, I cannot stress enough how great this place is. The indoor decor, the lobby, the pool, and the food! Literally everything we ate was delicious! I can't really describe anymore except you really have to give this place a try. It is definitely not like your typical hotel stay. The staff were all friendly and for the most part left you alone unless you needed something or had a request. They also offer Tesla charging. Their parking lot is kind of small but easily accommodated all of their guests. Noise levels were perfect too. They are located right near downtown Palm Springs, but you wouldn't think so. It was so quiet! Was able to even take a nap by the pool with how comfortable the noise level was. Like I said, a truly relaxing and wonderful getaway experience to spend on your own, with friends or with your partner. I will definitely be coming again! read more

My husband and I came for our anniversary on a whim. We are so happy we ended up staying here, such a relaxing and serene experience. When we arrived, there was a heart on our bed made if flowers, a bottle of champagne and a sweet note. Totally unexpected! The room was very cozy, felt like you were in a cabin. I enjoyed having a private patio, we would have our continental breakfast and some drinks out there. The waterfall shower was amazing, it's kinda sad coming back home to our regular shower now. One of the nights we made reservations to eat dinner on site and sat at the fire pit which was very lovely. The food was delicious, shrimp alfredo and pumpkin bread pudding with vanilla ice cream, wow! We felt very safe with all the covid precautions in place. No jacuzzi, it was closed but maybe next time. The staff was great, very accommodating and welcoming. They really do think of everything, even our parting gift was some smudging sage which I loved. A+ hospitality. We parked on the street but we felt our car was safe in the back side of the hotel in a residential area. The rooms have no TV or phones, which is really nice if you are trying to relax. The bed and linens were very comfortable. The only thing you should be aware of is the noise level, it's pretty quiet. My husband and I decided we will need to make it an annual stay at sparrows or really anytime we need some R & R. You won't regret staying here, its a lovely experience. read more

What a gorgeous and romantic PS retreat. The lodge manages to pull off the right amount of a relaxed and minimalist rustic vibe, in a way that feels luxurious without trying to be so. With it's wood and brick decor, exposed rain shower, a deep horse trough tub (heavenly), dim lighting, and no tv or phones in sight, it is a place to be experienced for sure. A nice sized pool greets you when you come in and a fire pit warms you up at night. You can spend the evening roasting s'mores provided by the lodge and step into a beautifully decorated, kind-of retro-feeling (again simple) communal barn dining area to enjoy complimentary light breakfast. You probably wouldn't want to come here if what you have in mind is a crazy, rowdy pool party setting, but if what you want is to disconnect, spend quality time with a lover, read, be close to the mountains, then this is definitely the place! Review of the Barn Kitchen Went for a friend's birthday luncheon. We like trying new places and I'm glad we went here. It's definitely a hidden gem in Palm Springs. There weren't many guests when we went, a few at the pool and we were only ones eating. The servers were extremely pleasant and friendly. We were even given a tour of the property and suite. Very rustic, very cute. Would love to someday come and stay as a guest. The rooms and vibe is relaxing for sure. From the menu, we ordered sandwiches which come with potato chips. We also had piña coladas and sangria, both were delicious. Seating for the dining is small...a few tables and benches for maybe 20-30 people. Items are a bit picey, but the scenery and ambiance is well worth it. We lingered and enjoyed our food and drinks with no sense of time or rush. The bar and restrooms also cute and trendy. Wow wow wow!! My husband and I are staying in Palm Springs and we were looking for a breakfast spot and stumbled upon this hotel. The restaurant does not have a yelp so I'm writing the review here because it was so spectacular I had to leave a review. It is a hidden gem, almost like a secret garden. The ambiance is so relaxing and the staff is unbelievable. We ordered the avocado toast and steak sandwich. I will say I try avocado toast almost everywhere and this was my favorite of all time. It's made on sourdough toast and everything on top is fresh. My husband ordered the steak sandwich with chimichurri, and being from Miami where we eat plenty steak sandwiches, I will again say that this is the best one I've had. We took a walk around the hotel and the waitress was kind enough to let us view the garden room which is out of a dream. We had such a nice experience here and next time we are in Palm Springs we will be definitely staying at the hotel. read more

I was only able to spend one night at Sparrows Lodge, but it was a pretty fantastic experience and I'd love to go back to just spend some additional time on the property. This takes glamping to a whole new level! All of the fantastic attributes of Holiday House have been morphed into a camping type of experience, although the rooms are still beautiful -- simple. The grounds are amazing. I wish I had time to just lay by the pool or sit by the fire pit or to experience one of their amazing dinners as I just did at Holiday House. The breakfast was fantastic, the vibe super chill, and I felt like I was in an escape, even though I was basically a little past the heart of Palm Springs. My only recommendations would be to be sure the staff let you know where the heaters are in winter because I woke up in the middle of the night a bit cold, and then in the morning when I went searching for warmth by the fire in the entry room, a staff member came and turned it off because she said it was part of their rules to stop the fire by a certain time and close all the blinds. I and some others went to that room for warmth and light to read the paper, so I had wished she would've waited until we were finished to make it so dark. I'll be back, hopefully soon for one of the fantastic dinners! read more

I stayed there several times before but this weekend I made a huge mistake by bringing a toddler with me on the trip. I stayed for one night with my mom. It is a lovely lodge with a nice pool and hot tub. The fire pit and other seating areas were also appealing. The staff were all very nice and helpful throughout our visit. The breakfast included with the room was lovely. Fantastic French press coffee, fresh squeezed juice, yogurt, fruit, granola, toast, hardboiled eggs, cheese, jam etc. We also had lunch at the Barn and enjoyed the food and ambience. My only critique is that our rooms were noisy. They were close to the road and you could hear the road noise. In addition you can hear the people in the rooms next door to you. Just beautiful. It is the antithesis of PS design, but in a good way, and I loved the rustic vibe. Some people compare it to if the Hamptons met PS and I think that is a great comparison. I came here for a late lunch at The Barn Kitchen and wished I stayed here. My husband and I shared a burger and a chicken sandwich, which were both wonderful. The staff was welcoming and even gave us a tour of the property after our meal. We will definitely be staying here the next time we visit Palm Springs. read more

The owner's wife also set up a pop up thrift shop on site as well. Also, the place is dog friendly so there were plenty of adorable, friendly and well behaved pooches to play with (including two of the owners) Can't say enough about the hospitality and service of the owners and staff. John (the manager) in particular was AWESOME. So friendly, so helpful, so attuned to our needs and just overall really cool. Breakfast was good and made to your order and they bring it to you anywhere) - baguette and jam, Greek yogurt w/granola, fruit, coffee and tea. Free water by the bar all day until 11pm when they close up. Their bloody marys were delicious! They let you BYO and enjoy anywhere which is great by the pool and hot tub! Areas for improvement- walls are paper thin so can hear everything next door...which makes it really hard when you're trying to fall asleep...or sleep in. The shower is great, but there's no door and it's right next to sink so water gets everywhere on the sink (so don't put your makeup there) and on the floors. Also FYI- no tv or fridge in rooms.
