The birria quesadilla in the restaurant is so good, I had it two times. The reason for 4/5 stars is because of the smoke detector that went off around midnight, and only in my room. An engineer came right up to pull it off the ceiling and make the noise stop. The front desk brought me two glasses of wine and that was appreciated. Again, service is great! I will stay here again when I'm in the area and hope to see you there!

All of those things were a headache and during the first time I stayed for a week, I had to ask housekeeping for stuff back to be replaced and my card at checkout was sorted. I had hopes for this location that I decided to come back as the service at the hotel, they tried to make it right. However, my second stay for another week took a downturn for the worst. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is busy as I've seen on both my stays, several business companies had their events at this location. While that's a good thing, it certainly leaves room for error on other things. I came back and during my second stay, the front desk was terrible. This is not an exaggeration. Ever had someone look up and down at you with a side eye? The moment I walked up to the desk and said hi, I'm here to checkin, the only response I got in a tone you'd never expect was "identification card" and proceeded to look up and down at me again. For context, I was fully clothed. Poloshirt with jacket, non fitted full pants with shoes and 2 bags. The entire interaction was just horrible. If it wasn't for work, I would've just cancelled my reservation right there and then. The interaction was that bad. Housekeeping is daily unless you have your dnd sign. Microwave is at a common room for the entire floor. I had the same experience the second time around. I reuse my towels and except for the towel you use for the floor outside the shower, everything else is hanged. When I had housekeeping, my towels are taken away without replacement. It was the same for the face towels too. The safe in the room was not working. I voiced out my concern to another front desk agent regarding my checkin process and got connected with Lisa, whom she introduced herself as director of operations. When I told her about my checkin, she was apologetic in some sense and explained that it was not in their policy for someone to act that way and even told me I will be given pts as compensation. At checkout, I asked the front desk agent to check the card charge and at least they got that right. If after checking/asking about this 3 times during my stay and an error still occurred, then I have no words for it anymore. When I asked about the compensated points, he said since it was that much was going to be given it would take 5 business days after the my checkout date. I waited more than 2 weeks and the only pts in my account was just my regular hotel stay pts. I will not be coming back to a location that has a rude front desk agent and conversations that don't push through. Save your money and go somewhere else. I drove around the area and there are multiple options that one can go.

Unfortunately we didn't get to take advantage of the amenities, like the indoor pool but for breakfast we had omelettes, pancakes, potato's, super yummy. If any security ever showed up, the music was cranked back up after they were gone, loud enough to shake the walls. The party in that room went on till at least 2am with a single half hearted attempt by security to stop it. I only ever heard security knock once, tell them to keep it down, then have the music crank back up less than a minute later. Whomever the night manager was is utterly lousy at their job. Edit to add: The pullout couch in my room was flat and lumpy and wildly unconfortable, sleeping on the couch cushions wasn't much better. Bed was occupied by sister and niece while I took the pullout bed. If I could give this place zero or negative stars I would. Absolutely horrendous service.

I reserved and prepaid $977.28 through the AAA Travel website for a Premium Two King Beds room. My confirmation clearly states that I purchased a Premium Two King Beds room. Before traveling, I also called the hotel directly to verify my reservation, and I was assured everything was confirmed. Upon arrival, I was informed that my room type was no longer available. Instead of the two king beds I had reserved and paid for, I was given a room with only one king bed and a rollaway bed. I was traveling with my elderly mother and my adult daughter. Because the rollaway bed was not suitable for my daughter, my mother had to sleep on the rollaway bed for our three-night stay. This was not the room I purchased, and it significantly affected our comfort during our trip. I immediately asked whether another room was available or whether the hotel could provide a discount or other accommodation. I was told the hotel was sold out and that nothing could be done. The staff was not empathetic and repeatedly stated that because I had booked through a third party, there was nothing they could do. After returning home, I contacted the hotel again. During that conversation, I was told that I had been "bumped" because I booked through a third party and that had I booked directly through the hotel, they would have honored my reservation. I find this unacceptable. My reservation was confirmed, paid in full, and verified directly with the hotel before my arrival. Guests should not receive inferior accommodations simply because they booked through an authorized travel partner such as AAA. I respectfully request: * A partial refund for failing to provide the room category I paid for. * A written explanation as to why my confirmed reservation was not honored. * An explanation of the hotel's policy regarding confirmed reservations made through AAA and other authorized travel agencies. I have already opened a case with AAA Travel and hope this matter can be resolved promptly and fairly.

2.5 Stars It pains…read moreme to leave this review because we usually love IHG properties and have had many great experiences. The customer service here is excellent -- the front desk staff are friendly, welcoming, and truly try to help. Based on service alone, this would be a 5-star experience. Special recognition goes to Tom, who consistently delivers outstanding, five-star hospitality. He is a major asset to this hotel. Unfortunately, the physical condition of the property significantly brings down the overall experience. The rooms are very outdated, with worn furnishings and visible maintenance issues. On my most recent stay in room 153, the bed was very uncomfortable, the furnishings looked worn, and the bathroom had major problems. The shower/tub did not drain properly, water backed up quickly, and there were rusted fixtures, blotchy paint, and very poor ventilation. The heavily fragranced Dove products were also overpowering. Wi-Fi was extremely poor, especially in room 153, making it difficult to get any work done without using my phone's hotspot. This is a serious issue for business travelers. Breakfast is a bright spot -- the staff in the breakfast area are professional and kind, the food is fresh, and there is a good variety. However, the TV playing strongly political news in the morning is not appropriate for a shared dining space and detracts from an otherwise pleasant experience. Key card issues were another frustration. On both stays, I had repeated problems with cards not working, requiring multiple trips to the front desk. With renovations, better maintenance, and some operational improvements, this hotel could better reflect IHG standards and match the excellent service provided by staff like Tom. Unfortunately, due to the current condition, I likely will not be staying at this location again.

So, out here in Walnut Creek suburbs it's all safe at night. This place has underground parking so the car won't get hot in the sun, but this time of year not so much of concern. The hotel is easy enough to find, but to get to most of the parking you have to circle the hotel and go down a weird alleyway. Check in was fine and I got my rewards points posted just fine. The room was pretty standard and clean, it gets the job done with working WiFi so I can get work done and a shower with decent water pressure and endless hot water. The breakfast is good and pretty much the same at all the IHG Holiday Inn Express locations. Good hot foods, like omelet thingies, potatoes and all kinds of stuff to toast. I do gotta love those cinnamon rolls all the Holiday Inns have!

The room was huge! It had a cute little kitchen setup with a dining table, a comfy corner couch in the living area, and two separate bedrooms, which made it feel more like an apartment than a hotel. One room had a queen bed, a good-sized closet with wired shelving, and a super spacious bathroom with the sink area outside the bathroom, always a win when you're trying to get ready without fighting over space. The second bedroom had a king bed, its own walk-in shower, and the same setup with the sink outside the bathroom and open to the room, which made it super easy to multitask (aka watch TV while doing my makeup). The space overall was clean, functional, and comfortable. But my biggest complaint? That awful showerhead. It was grimy, leaking, and had the weakest water pressure. Definitely a letdown in an otherwise great room.... especially when a good shower is one of my top hotel priorities. The bathroom had the potential to be a vibe, but the shower situation totally killed it.

The staff were always very friendly and accommodating. There were a couple of times we had a lot of clarifying questions and they never made us feel like we were annoying them. Even when we checked out, I double checked the pet fee after having paid and left already. They had accidentally overcharged me, as I had stayed for less time than the price I had paid. I called them up to inquire about it, and they were able to resolve the issue and refunded me the difference. Overall, the hotel was pretty clean for accommodating pets. I think this hotel seems to have a lot of smells from food that people bring it or of cleaning products. Even in our room, it seemed the room held on to smells for a long time, and despite having the air circulating or the window open, it was hard to get rid of the scents. It also seems other reviewers have mentioned some bedbug or other creepy crawly concerns, but we did not see any for the whole month we were there. We had a studio sort of room, so it was a large space that included the bed, a small living room with the couch, dining table, and kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a microwave that also can be an oven, an electric stove, and a nice sized refrigerator. They include the basic utensils for eating and cooking, bowls, plates, cups, mugs, pans, pots, colander. There is a coffee maker, as well. They provide you with dishwashing soap but it is not of great quality as it doesn't bubble. There is no sponge they provide to wash your dishes. They do have some dishwasher detergent for the dishwasher they also have in the unit. It seems they do not do room service unless you specifically request/schedule for it. It's probably because they have pets and they need you to have your pet out of the room when they service it. Parking is free, and they provide you with a parking pass to leave on your dashboard. They have a 24/7 gym with a few key equipment, including 2 ellipticals, 1 stationary bike, 1 non-functioning Peloton bike, 3 treadmills, bench for weights, back extension. They have wipes to clean the equipment, a water jug, and towels for your convenience. There is complimentary breakfast. It starts at 6:30 am on the weekdays, 7 am on the weekends. They have someone making custom ready-to-order omelets. They have the standard coffee and tea (coffee runs out pretty quickly in the morning since this is a busy hotel for working guets), scrambled eggs (one plain, one with veggies), sausage or bacon, potatoes, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, breads. There is a bar with a happy hour as well, but they do not have a sit-down restaurant here. Fortunately, there are many restaurants close by in Downtown Pleasant Hill. Other amenities include meeting rooms, a pool, basketball court. Overall, it was a pretty solid experience at Hyatt House!

We thought it was a great deal for the two nights , Definitely in walnut creek you would not expect this type of place to be in business in this nice city. We stayed at this location a few years ago when it was motel 6 and it was decent, it has completely gone downhill, the cleanliness of it was beyond the point of dirty, maids are not sweeping, mopping cleaning counters and definitely not sanitizing the bathroom. For the price being $125 a night is not even close to being worth a cheap stay! We were so upset with the room we were given, that they let us move to another room on the opposite side of the hotel and if anything it was worse. Upon entry of the new room there were dead cockroaches on the exterior of the room and inside live ones. I hope you read this before you even think to book a stay here. After seeing the condition of the second room offered, I demanded my refund back and that nite we left aimlessly driving around the East bay at 11pm looking for a sanitary place to lay my child's head down.
