my experience was disappointing and downright robbery. Decided on this place for my mom and my daughter as a surprise and felt reassured that safety was top priority here with all the safety measures including the shields between stations and down to the gloves during the manicure. So the plan was manicure and pedicure for both. My daughter is under 10 but knew coming in she would not get the child rate. But it's hard to explain asking for $45 for a child's pedicure when it's not the same as an adult. Then comes the manicure. $22 for the manicure plus a design($20) which appears to be Dots of color is just crazy. An $87 for a child's mani/pedi is just outrageous. And now let me get to my mom. The owner appeared to be rushing her out the door and told the tech to put a fast dry spray on her manicure. She was not allowed to sit under the dryer. My mom did not make it to the car and her nails were already rubbing off and all over her fingers. She ended up going back in to ask for her nails repainted and now was able to sit under the dryer. Money was not the issue the techs were really nice but I believe the woman who is the manager or owner was the worst. She was rushing my mom out the store and kept interrupting the tech working. Customer service is lacking but great job on safety measures. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. One of the worst experiences I've had at a nail salon. I called to make an appointment for a gel polish change on my nails and toes and an eyebrow wax. She told me to come in at 5, I got there at 4:50. As soon as I walk in she tells me that I have to do a manicure ($42) and pedicure ($55) that it's impossible for them to just change the polish. I told her I was really pressed for time and HAD to be out of there in an hour for a work event. She said it would only take 30 mins, maybe 40 for both. Ok fine, I said, although a little upset having had a mani pedi five days ago. The manicurist - had to fix a nail that she broke, cut me with a file (her excuse being "it's a new one"), and decided to put superglue on all of my nails without asking me (which she charged me $10 for because she said it would be better for my nails). Shouldn't I have that choice? The pedicure was supposed to come with 3 options of sea salt which I didn't get and had ZERO massage. It of course took over an hour making me miss my work event. I go to pay and my bill is over $140 when I asked to speak to the manager, she was completely unhelpful and quite rude. The only thing she offered me after rolling her eyes is a free eyebrow wax. After all of that you would hope that your nails at least look good. They are average at best. Lumpy and not painted to the edges. DO. NOT. GO. HERE. Kind of pricy for the quality. I wanted to get a gel manicure with color only on the top part of the nail and they wanted to charge me $20 more ON TOP of the $50 I was already paying. Yeah right. My friend also got a gel manicure and it chipped off after 2 days. If I'm paying that much, I think it should last a little longer. The service wasn't terrible but I was disappointed in the quality. I had some extra time in between meetings, and thought i would get my nails done. Probably not the best move. I got in there at 1.40pm and asked for a full set. After reading the Yelp reviews and looking at the prices, it was more costly than i usually paid, however the reviews seemed that it would be worth the extra cost. The owner may have been doing nails for 20 years, but the person i had clearly didst. Now I'm open to having junior staff work on my nails, but not if i am paying a premium rate. I have three bleeding nails, the cuticles weren't fully treated, and it took literally 24 minutes for the technician to remove a tip that was glued, that was clearly the wrong size. i left the salon almost two hours later, very dissapointed, and a $105 dollars poorer. read more

I tip very generally I just feel so comfortable with her (she is fast , does great job) and the owner just rejected me saying there is another girl can do for you. Spazio is literally heaven on earth. After a long day of conference calls and 3 hour team meetings, I was in dire need of a massage and a mani pedi for my own sanity. I walked in and was greeted by some of the nicest people in the city. I received an incredible chair massage and got to choose from a vast array of awesome colors for my nails. Extremely overpriced for what you get. My gel manicure lasted 5 days before it all started peeling off completely. There's not a huge color section - and I had to re-choose my nail color 3 times because the polishes had gone bad. Also, 2 of my nails must have been buffed down too hard because I've had pain in underneath my nail ever since. I've been going to Spazio for a few years. My experiences have always been positive. I love that they put in a plastic liner when you get a pedicure. Not every place does that. They're always very nice, very professional, I've never had a bad manicure or pedicure. I'd rather pay a little bit more and feel well cared for. For a more expensive gel manicure than the average nyc prices, I expect better than average service. The attention to detail on my nails was horrible. I had to go back to get my gel fixed after I left, and needed to file my nails myself when I got home because gel top coat was all over my skin. Rude staff who rolled their eyes and my friend with an autoimmune disorder who cannot soak in the pedicure tub per doctors recommendations. Told us no tip on the card but then refused to let us leave salon to get cash from another banks atm that wouldn't charge us a fee. The owner eventually began to raise her voice at us after which we left without giving a tip at all which I NEVER do but after being over charged and insulted for over an hour I was disgusted.
