Horrible place. Got a gel mani last week and I kept insisting the color was too light and she said with 3 coats it will be fine. It was not. A week later, it was already coming off so I went in for a pedicure and asked if they could help fix the nails and she said yes. Post pedicure, When I sat at the manicure station, I asked how they'd fix it, and she said first give me your hand" and proceeded to take the gel off. Then after some heated convo between her and the manager, she comes over and says "you changed everything so I have to charge you". Like wtf. Not only that, the manicurist had the gall to shush me when I answered a call for 3 minutes, and the manager yelled at me insisting since I chose the color last time, I'd have to pay. It's not even well done - nails are lumpy and uneven. The lady was super rough while buffing and tore my skin off one of my fingers. NO wonder this place is ALWAYS empty. Shitty quality and shitty people. Save yourself the trouble and go to one of the other spots in the neighborhood. read more

I came here for the first time because I was in the area and didn't have time to go to the regular place I go to on the LES. At first I was skeptical of the appearance because it's not as nice as the others I usually go to. However, the staff was super friendly, pedicures are $18 which is a great price for this area! The nail salon across the street charges $30 for regular pedicure. I had shopped around. I ended up getting the lavender spa package for $35 that included a 10 min massage. OMG Alex gave me the best foot massage. I have ever had. Most salons they just run your feet or squeeze them for 10 minutes. This was an actual massage. Decent nail salon. It's clean, they seem to have sufficient colors and always seem friendly. I always get a mani/pedi and I have no complaints. My manicures always last 5 days to a week a week, at least, if not a little longer. My only thing is they are a bit aggressive when it comes to upselling. Terrible service. The wait time was awful. The staff wasn't very welcoming neither did they seem to care about the customers and their needs. They are really low on staff which made it difficult for them to even pay attention to their customers properly. After waiting for a really long time, I simply & quietly got up and left & went to the nail salon next door. They need to improve on their staff & their service. Went here to experiment and 1.5 week later I'm still extremely happy with the results. She saved my one nail after I had to crazy glued 90% percent of it. And nothing had chipped yet. This is a hidden gem! I have had my nails done at the most expensive salons and all over the world. They do the best manicure and pedicure I have every had. The prices are beyond reasonable. They are warm, friendly and welcoming. The manicure and pedicure always looks beautiful. They know how to apply the polish so even the most sheer colors don't look streaky. I highly recommend them. One of the worst manicures I have received. I came here because it was near my subway stop after work and it looked reasonably priced. I needed my acrylics removed and a basic manicure. Getting my acrylics removed was not only painful but unsanitary. A MetroCard was used to be slid under the acrylic to try to shimmy it off. I have no clue where that was prior but it did not make me feel clean whatsoever. It also ripped the tips of my natural nails off in the process. The manicure was lackluster, splotchy, and has now chipped after just 24 hours. The upsides are the low prices and the friendliness of the nail techs! Truly sweet women and men. read more

I made an appointment as I usually do. When I arrived, the manicurist was not there. The man who answers the phone said she wasn't coming in. The woman who answers the phone told me that she had an emergency. The man said that she would be in later. The women said that she was on vacation. I said, "You just told me that she had an emergency." The man then said, "You never made an appointment." I said," Yes I did and you answered the phone. The man said. I came across Time to nail as I was getting off the train going to another nail salon, but I figured I would give them a try after seeing their $19.99 mani-pedi special (with a mini message included). I saw the big banner and followed the sign up the stairs where I was greeted by the kindest lady who politely asked me what I needed to get done, took my coat and then asked me to pick my color. Shoutout to the lady who did my nails, her name was MiMi and she did an amazing job on my feet, even got that annoying dead skin that keeps forming from wearing boots and heels on my baby toe. She also did my hands and was super efficient, time savvy and sweet. Didn't talk much, but that didn't bother me at all (I didn't really eellike talking anyway). Ladies, I am writing this review as I leave this nail salon LIVID with the worst manicure and customer service I've ever received in my life! That's how you know it's real. I am here to warn you to AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. So, I came in for a full set and my usual shape since K&F Nails (go there instead for the love of God) had a long wait. I had a picture of exactly what I wanted on my phone for the nail tech to see the entire time. I knew I was first in trouble when she could not get length of the nails even. Like at all. I was honestly shocked. She messed up the shape so bad that she had to take off and redo a nail that she filed too short, which she then made way too long. Like comically longer than the others. To the point I thought she was messing with me. Then she filed another nail WAY shorter than all the rest to the point that it lost all its shape and was just a round mess (when my other tips are square). She seemed to magically not hear me repeat over and over that they looked awful. So I took a deep breath and guided her through filing every. Single. Nail. Relaxing right? Still, nails were uneven but at this point I had already been there an hour and a half and we're not even at the powder yet! She starts to glob on the powder and I mean GLOB. She barely touched it with the brush to even it out. There was acrylic all over my skin. I had to politely ask her over 3 times to even out the acrylic because it was bubbling and disgustingly bumpy. At this point they were just bumpy beyond repair and she didn't seem to think that was a problem. She told me to pay. I said do I have to pay full price for the nails I obviously hate? She said nothing. And I angrily paid just to finally get it over with. After giving up and letting her polish them because I wanted to get the hell out of there, I could visibly see that my nails are so bumpy and uneven even the gorgeous polish I picked out couldn't save them. After I was done drying, I went back to the nail tech and asked her if she thought they looked good. She kept saying "Umm I don't know. Umm I guess." There's your warning! Even she couldn't stand by her work and they still made me pay FULL PRICE. Worst manicure. Worst customer service. Only decent thing was the free quickie massage. I've never had to guide the nail tech to this length where I was so upset I gave up. They didn't offer any apology or try to fix the problem when I was visibly upset and made it known. This place is kind of hidden but I am SO glad I stumbled upon it. I got a basic manicure that was done well (and cheap too!) and had one of the best chair massages of my life. This place doesn't seem to be well known yet because i was the only person there on a Wed night. It was nice to have a salon that was calm and quite vs some of the more bustling salons on this block that just pump out mani/pedi after mani/pedi without really caring about anything. Firstly, I was born and raised in NY, lived in all 5 boroughs and have done my nails all over. I have finally settled on a place in Howard beach. I got French powder gel done about a week ago but my right hand index finger broke. I work in NYC just a block from this place and ran over on my break to get pedicure and replace broken nail. Pedicure with Jessica was great. The owner, unsure of her name, began to fix my nail and after 20 minutes of not being able to get the French right said to me "I can't do this you need to go somewhere else". I told her if she felt like this earlier she should have told me because I'm on lunch break and don't have the time. She proceeded to say "well your too picky, go somewhere else". This woman has the audacity to say that she needed to cut the tip off because it's her tip or I needed to pay for the unfinished nail. When I refused she grabbed my arm and try to cut the nail off aggressively to the point where I said I would call the cops. Then she tried to charge my card for the nail and cancelled last minute when I threaten to call the cops reporting theft. She came around the table and pulled the cotton from around my toes and pushed my legs while yelling "get out your too picky get out". Even the woman who did my pedicure came to help me because she felt so bad. I've never in my life experienced something more disgusting and unprofessional. There are plenty of nail salons in the area, I advise you to never step foot in the place. Very small selection of nail colors, small and dirty, don't use plastic bags for pedicure tub. Went in for a gel manicure and was guaranteed it would last two weeks. After the first week it was bubbling and chipping. When I returned to show the manager the problem she said my nails were the problem. Having had multiple gel manicures before this one, it's normal for these to last 3-4 weeks easily.
