I recently moved from Edgewater to the Westchester area and have been missing my normal go-to spots. So glad to find this place! There must be 50 different tea's to choose from and as your in line, there is a screen for you to look through the options and make your choice. The menu is pretty good too. Wraps, panini's, salads. Pretty sure there are vegetarian options as well. I had the Chicken Curry Salad and would order it again. Nothing fancy, pretty simple but fresh and yummy. The space itself is dark, cozy, with not a ton of seating but whats there is comfortable. The kind of place I will be taking my computer to sit and work for a while. There's also shelves lined with books and games for entertainment. It's right around the corner from FIU, reasonable prices, and very student friendly.. I may have been one of 2 people over 23 there *shrugs* which made me super productive cause the others around me with their computers and their faces to the screen! I love this place. I was able to visit here once and sit down to enjoy lunch with my daughter right before the shutdown. Such a cozy place to eat and relax. Since the shutdown I have picked up plenty of times. They are so safe and their food is alway delish. My usual is the chicken bacon ranch bowl or wrap, chips, lemonade and you have to and I repeat, have to get their cookies. They are delish. Great friendly staff too!! I have been coming to this place for years and they're bubble teas are one of the tops things to try. Personally, my favorite is the taro frozen tea. They also have sandwiches and wraps that are also good . I would recommend the chicken buffalo for that spicy kick. Pretty good little organic tea lounge! Yum. I just left there. First thing I'd like to mention is that this place is packed w/ FIU students. So it's a very young crowd studying or chatting it up which I don't mind. Second thing I'd like to mention is that it was freaking hot in there!! (the only thing I DIDN'T like about the place) Third, the "sweet tea" is not the sweet tea I'm used to. It needed a sh*t ton more sugar to be considered a "sweet tea" from the South ;) lol Fourth, the coco curry chicken with the garliic-herb wrap is amazing !!!YUM. I love this place! I've been coming here pretty frequently since I discovered it a few years ago but especially now during the pandemic and the curbside pickup. My only two problems are that I've had quite a few times where they mess up my order- but they have fantastic customer service and they immediately fix it with no hassle! The other thing I've noticed is that I always have delicious boba, but sometimes the boba is a little hard and not chewy. This only happens sometimes, not always. I do hope that they fix that! Other than that, I really love this place! The food is delicious, the tea is delicious, fair prices, and the service is great. The specialTEA lounge is my new favorite study place near FIU. This place has it all - comfy couches, friendly service, stacks of board games, and a huge selection of tasty gourmet teas. Each small tea ($3) can serve two people (or one person if you're like me and want to down an entire pot of tea), and the large teas ($5) can caffeinate four people. I've tried the chocolate mint black tea (delicious) and a strawberry blend (light and fruity). I have been coming to special tea for a few years now. It's right by FIU, its in expensive, trendy, and the food is pretty damn good lol. Also what makes special-tea "special " is the vibe. They have board games at the entrance of the restaurant that you can play with during your experience with them. Usually when I go I order their passion fruit bubble tea infused with green tea. They also have options for coffee and beer; but the bubble tea is my favorite. My only recommendation for them is to add more tapioca balls and less syrup. They also offer delicious salads in whixh you have the option to recreate them in the forms of paninies or wraps. My personal favorites is Carolina dreaming and farmers market. Their Arnaldo Palmer is delicious because it is a combo of 1/2 of they daily steep and 1/2 of their mint lemonade. First of all, the mint lemonade is delicious, both sweet and tart! It consists of lemon juice, water, mint leaves and cane juice if i am not mistaken. So delicious and when it is combined with a fruity daily steep, it is definitely a win-win!! I highly recommend the chilly vanilly chai- it's rich with flavor and has a bold chai taste paired with the sweetness of the vanilla. I couldn't get enough of it and was very pleased. Cute place to grab some food after class, although it's a bit pricey. Prices were steep, I'd even venture to say drinks are even more expensive than Starbucks. As for the food, I tried their pesto panini which was huge! The flavor was okay. The sandwich didn't wow me as much as the chai tea. I will definitely be coming back for that chai! So glad I decided to come here last night! My boyfriend and I were starving around 11 pm and through Yelp found that this coffee shop was open that I had already heard good things about from friends but didn't think was going to have the type of substantial food I was looking for-----boy, I was wrong! Located in a small strip mall right near FIU SpecialTEA is a wonderfully cozy coffee shop for those looking to relax over a cup of coffee/tea, hang out with friends, or study away. The ambiance of the restaurant is unique and a nice change of pace then most luxury coffee shops in Miami. My boyfriend and I quickly browsed through the menu and decided to order a couple things to all share. The first item we tried was the coco-curry wrap $8 (garlic herb wrap, spicy masala chicken, mozzarella, fresh greens, tomatoes) served with a beautiful coconut lassi dipping sauce that was INSANE. I've never tried anything quite like it but the closest thing I could think of was something in Thailand. Next we had the Hunny Brisket Panini $8 (smoked brisket, goat cheese, spinach, house made honey mustard balsamic vinaigrette) which was DELICIOUS and of gourmet quality. We also had their Tapenade Toast which I was very satisfied with; same with the house made avocado. For desert we tried some of their cookies and croissants that were scrumptious and even vegan! This place is awesome!!! First time here and traveled all the way to Cali for some good eats! This place did not disappoint. I had the bacon ranch panino and the passionfruit slush... YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY!!! Also their customer service is pretty kick ass! We came right when they closed their kitchen and I'm not going to lie we were pretty bummed. But the kitchen staff and cashier said no worries and still took our order which was pretty awesome! They didn't have to do that because we came 15 minutes after they already closed their grill! So we, Californians appreciate it greatly!!! So yes the next time we are in South Florida I will come back to this tea lounge and I highly suggest trying it out. As someone who does not like warm beverages I have grown very familiar with the food. From milk shakes that allow you to select your milk to customizable sooo cheesyz (grilled cheese sandwiches). Everything is delicious, so try something new. Tip: Indoor seating includes a few tables for two, a small bar, two living room couches and 3 booths for parties of 2 and more only. They have regular and large sizes now! The only thing I noticed is that the wait time for a drink can be from 5-10 minutes even when there isn't a line at the register. Wonderful place! We're from Orlando and down at FIU for a conference that wasn't serving breakfast. We were happy to find a local coffee/tea place that just started serving breakfast right near where we needed to be! The shop is very cozy, would love to just get a snack and chill there for a bit but I'm in conferences all weekend. The barista was super nice and friendly! We got a breakfast croissant with amazing peppered bacon, stringy-stretchy (so REAL) cheese, and a nicely poached egg. We had a treat from their day-old baked goods basket, just because there was a mystery croissant in there and we love mysteries. It ended up being a strawberries and cream stuffed croissant and even though it was from yesterday, it was still wonderfully fresh. The cold brew coffee was very smooth and didn't have that bitter edge that a lot of iced coffees have. I had the Ghirardelli mocha latte and while it didn't have a super strong chocolate flavor, it was pleasantly sweet and still had a bold coffee flavor. I would love to go back, especially after sniffing all the delicious samples on the tea wall, but sadly they are not open on the weekends. Maybe the next time I am in town! read more

Searched here on yelp and found specialTEA and I'm never going back. For the same price as a small coffee and packaged sandwich at Starbucks, you can get a delicious, made to order breakfast sandwich and fair trade organic latte at specialTEA. I LOVE the fact that their cups and straws are compostable so I don't have to feel bad if I forgot my personal cup. It also feels good to be supporting a local business rather than giving money to some multinational chain. read more

I'm actually pretty weirded out that I haven't reviewed this place yet because I've been here so many times and it's very awesome every time. So I apologize in advance for the delayed 5 star bomb. So let's get straight to the elephant in the room which is how great the name of this place is. They sell tea, it's their specialty, so specialTEA. Get it?? Ok so aside from tea they obviously have coffee but aside from coffee they have sandwiches, wraps, salads, chips, baked goods, and beer. Yes I said beer. If you come in any night during the week it'll be slammed with people studying and making pretend to study so I've yet to see anyone chugging a beer but maybe this place turns up during the weekend. But about food. I really can't say I've ever ordered anything here that I didn't like. Ok maybe once but it was no fault of the folks behind the counter. They're always great and patient with everyone, on top of being extremely friendly and helpful. Also did I say they're open late? Not too late but much later than your typical "cafe" of this type. I went here on a whim the other night with one of my friends and ended up enjoying it a lot. The bubble tea was cheap and delicious! The flavor combo recommended to us was strawberry-coconut, but I don't like coconut-flavored anything so I got blueberry bubble tea with tapioca pearls. I'm not even all that big a fan of tea but I loved this one. It was refreshing enough and really rehydrated me. With your first check-in you can get free chips but the night we went I wasn't hungry. In terms of atmosphere it was very chill and laid-back. I could very much see it being a hangout spot for the FIU crowd as well as those baristas still in school. There was a couple on their first (or one of their first it seemed) date, which was pretty cute. It reminded me of one of my very first dates which I enjoyed a lot and have fond memories of. There are couches, booths and tables so it's pretty spacious for a cafe. They're also open late which is great for those nights when you don't wanna go home but you don't know where to go next. It's great for a small grouo of friends or intimate first date. It is casual which takes the pressure off the minute you walk in. The bathrooms are clean and nicely done as well. I don't feel like I'm ever breaking the bank to eat food that makes me full, tastes fresh and is prepared to ordee! I was craving boba tea at 11PM and this place pops up on my yelp search. It really is a hidden gem. Plenty of vegan options, organic options, and a large variety of teas, coffee, drinks, and food. Nothing too expensive either. Looks like a really chill cafe area. Even has board games and books for people to use. What can I say about specialTEA Lounge? PLENTEA. Haha. I was on my way to the airport, and decided to grab some breakfast. I ordered a panino (NOT PANINI Y'ALL) and a honey bubble tea. My panino was delicious, and grilled to perfectly. When I bit into it, it didn't flake off or taste super soggy. The bubble tea was "honey" flavored, I've never had honey bubble tea but I. AM. HOOKED. This honestly needs to become a more popular flavor because it is underrated! The tearista who made my drink and food was super bubbly and chatty. He really brightened up my morning and seemed really happy with his job. Lastly, the lounge is a great place to bring your books to study or to just chill with friends.
