I'm not reviewing their location but the internet service that they provide. It has been complete junk for at least the last couple of months. The internet was going down at least once a day which is a pain with the kids doing online schooling and the wife and I working from home. While helping my father in law move I was canceling his utilities and services for him. When I called Spectrum I got a live operator and started giving her the information to cancel. The account was started by my mother in law who passed away about 2 years ago. When I tell the operator that she has passed, she tells me "oh no, this is a big problem ". I asked why and she said my mother in law was the only person authorized on the account and that she couldn't proceed without her consent. I laughed and said all I can tell you is we are moving on Friday and if we are billed after that time we are not paying. I told her there must be a contingency plan for these things but she didn't have one. I then told her to think this out. You can bill a dead person until kingdom come and then after sending to collections you will find out that you get zero because she's DEAD. I still wasn't getting anywhere so I hung up and called back saying I was my mother in law. About 2 minutes into the call I was placed on hold for about 10 minutes. When they answered again it was the security department telling me my voice doesn't match the person that opened the account. I then told her who I was and what was happening but time I got someone who knew what to do. She told me to take the equipment to one of their stores and that would close the account. They only let in one person at the time because the limit inside is 20 people, which is understandable, but there is four computers at the desk and only two people actively attending people. I came in with my boyfriend and they only let him come in and the lady at the door stood In front of me at the door block me and told me to wait outside. I started with TWC almost 7 years ago and I would have saved $500 over that time period. Just make sure you call TWC and provide them with the MAC ID which can be found on the box and the Model # of the modem (if you're not tech savvy). Plug it in, cable first, then power, and you've just saved yourself a bunch of money!!!!! Paid $20 extra per month for 400 mbps service. USELESSS. Every day I come home and every morning I have to restart my connection. This is an embarassment to spectrum, but they dig their own grave. I've had them for 3 years w my own router but with their HORRIBLE router I would rather pay $100 extra per month to not have subpar internet connection from their provided router. I'm honestly appalled that they ask us to PAY for nonexistent internet connection. I must be an idiot to pay $70 per month JUST for nonexistent internet. Spectrum totally saved me from being ripped off by Verizon & they now offer cell phone off the same lines as Verizon at 1/3 of the cost. I purchased an iPhone 7 for my son at a Verizon store & I was quoted $234 per month for 2 phones (my son's iPhone 7 & my iPhone X which I already owned) in writing & when I received my 1st bill it was $652! I contacted Verizon by phone & at the store where I made the purchase & they gave me the runaround. After 8 years w/ Verizon they refused to help fix the problem. I paid the $652 to avoid my service being disconnected while I resolved the issue & nothing. My next Verizon bill was almost $900. I went to the Spectrum store on Mednik & 3rd & the Assistant Manager Kim Foster went out of her way to help me & reconnected my cell service on 2 iPhones for $20 down & I now pay less than $100 per month for both iPhones w/ unlimited talk, text & data. Well, today I had the most beautiful experience in a long time at the Monterrey Park branch. I came in with a very complicated case and Juan was able to fix everything I dumped at him in no time. This guy is an original costumer service person. I have been dealing with Spectrum, at the East Los Angeles branch, for a bunch of years but nothing come close to the way he treat me at their new place located at Atlantic Blvd in Monterrey Park. He take care of business super fast and in a very professional way, that reminded me of how it use to be 50 years ago. He deserve to have his picture in the Spectrum's chairman office as un example to all employees. Time warner is an EVIL COMPANY who fools customer right and left. We called to cancel the service due to business shutdown and it takes 30 days to disconnect and we have to pay the bill for the service we never used! TIme warner has horrible reputation that they never go easy on cancellation and make customers pay for their stupidity! Their representatives are extremely rude and sarcastic, I remember City of Los Angeles gave them a notice for their poor service long ago and they never fixed their problem AT ALL!! Never been more dissatisfied with any service company. Waited over a month for the first available cable and internet installation appointment and no one showed on the appointment date. Spoke to 12 different customer service people who kept assuring they would get me a second appointment later that evening because of the first no show. Got a 6:30 PM appointment confirmed. AT 4pm and 5:17pm technicians call saying sorry they missed me. I told both of them I had an appointment at 6:30PM and would be home then, and called to confirm with Customer Service that I still had an appt at 6:30PM. NO one showed up. Next customer service person said he would escalate to his supervisor to get dispatch out within the hour to my place to install. Next person (after "escalating" to supervisor) said there were no longer dispatch people running that day and that someone would call me in the morning, that we could get an appointment for the next night. No call. When I called back the next morning, the nicest of the dozen plus people I spoke to also said she would have her supervisor call me back with the earliest possible appointment. Supervisor called back and said it would be 13 days for the next appointment. Cancelled my service this is awful. read more
