I made sure to send him pictures and let him know the home was a raised foundation and we needed someone who was willing to go into the crawl space to update the lines. He sent me some initial pricing and set a time and date to complete the work. All the work completed by Darren was as expected by the reviews but I was shocked that he did all the work himself as a one-man show. I am very grateful to Darren and Randy of Spectrum7 Communications. My project was quite large in scale. Even though my household used wifi reliably for years without issue, what finally made us want to put in ethernet wiring was the prospect of putting up some IP cameras. PoE was the way to go, that meant I needed ethernet runs. While planning out the locations, the scope of the job quickly grew to also include ethernet jacks in various rooms. In total, I needed 17 ethernet runs, cameras mounted and a coax run to relocate my cable modem. I shopped around and got a range of quotes, everything from "guy-who-knows-a-guy" for suspiciously cheap, to full-service companies that usually cater to businesses and frankly quoted some absurd figures. Finally, I found and contacted Spectrum7 through Yelp. Darren was great to work with and had great communication. He immediately provided a ballpark figure based only on a text description of the project. Due to timing and distance, an in-person inspection/estimate wasn't practical. Being very flexible and reasonable, Darren jumped into a Zoom call with me to see the property, narrow down the cost and schedule a date. I'll be the first to admit that we were not easy customers. We've noticed some issues with our home networking setup (a few of our wired connections weren't operating correctly), so I contacted Spectrum 7 a few months ago. Darren converted existing phone lines to ethernet to achieve a 1Gbps speed. Previously the lines were split between 1 phone and 1 ethernet which only supports 100 Mbps. He also cleaned up the panel wiring to make it less crammed. After completion some rooms weren't getting top internet speeds so he changed all the RJ45 plugs on both ends of the ethernet network cable so the connection would be new and not worn and that resulted in top speeds in all rooms. We called more than 3 times to start service. Made an appointment for a technician to come and set up the WiFi only to tell us that they had run out of the equipment needed.
