I have to say that this is by far the best I've experienced at any automotive shop. Rob is absolutely a professional from not only his great knowledge and expertise in cars but his customer service is unbelievable. He is as honest and fair as one gets. Rob and Sam are the absolute BEST! I am terribly late in leaving this review and I am still blown away with the work that was done for me! I bought my first BMW in January, a 2010 535i with 60k miles. I brought it to Rob to have walnut blasting almost immediately. Rob talked to me a lot about my plans for the car and logical upgrades. He and Sam had the walnut blasting done in just a few hours while I waited at a near by Starbucks (that they kindly drove me to and from). When it was completed they had videos of before and after, not just photos! It was pretty incredible how much cleaner it was and the improved throttle response mind boggling! Rob recommended changing the spark plugs, coil packs, and vacuum lines soon. This is a few weeks overdue. In short, if you own a modern BMW, you're making a huge mistake if you don't take your car to Rob at Speed Logic. I've owned my car for 3 years and have gone through a total of 4 different mechanics for jobs that I can't tackle myself or don't have the confidence. All of them supremely pale in comparison to Rob. I could literally go on and on, but Rob is an expert at his craft, goes well above and beyond, and most importantly, honest. I've gone through so many reviews of mechanics with people boasting "honesty", and it's been a bunch of crap. Taking my car to Rob was the first time I actually had confidence and trust in someone out for my best interest. He knows the problem areas, tendencies, etc of these cars (I have a 135i N55). And he is a huge proponent of tuning these cars in a thoughtful way ensuring reliability. I asked Rob to install a downpipe, M3 subframe bushings, do a walnut blast, and a MHD stage 2 tune, and my car is something else. I FINALLY remembered why I bought this car to enjoy it at its best. Short version : Hands down the BEST shop to go to especially if you have an n54. Rob is a godsend when it comes to this engine, knowing all the little things and recognizing issues right away. Long version that really goes to show how great this shop is : I was looking for a shop to take care of my oil pan leak on my e92 335i. I already heard of Speed Logic through the forums but since it was pretty far I never really gave them a shot. But this time, I decided I wanted to build a relationship with a good credible shop to take my car to in the future as well. Thats when I hit Rob up and he got back to me w/ a quote that was super respectable & more than reasonable. Figured I might as well get some mods done at the same time as well (coilovers & exhaust) & Rob was still able to keep the cost insanely low. Super last minute, I decided to add a walnut blast as well since I had zero idea when it was last done. Again, Rob kept the price low & didn't try to rip me off. Anyways, I scheduled my appointment & drove an hour to this shop. When I got there, I spoke w Rob & immediately could tell that he's a super knowledgeable and respectful man who operates his shop in the best manner. I 100% felt @ ease leaving my car in his hands. This shop was super packed but Rob told me he would still have my car ready in 3-4 days. Unfortunately, Rob ran into some issues when he removed my oil pan and found all the bolts snapped from previous shops/owners. I was so confused to hear this but Rob sent me a vid as well so I could get a better understanding. This whole issue seemed like a whole pain to deal with but Rob took care of it as well, for a super cheap price. Let that sink in, a mechanic extracted snapped bolts from my engine and didn't try to squeeze me dry. On top of that, he was still able to get the car ready by the next day keeping it within the original time frame! This man stayed up pretty much all night to get the car ready for me. Mad respect and I don't know any other shop or mechanic who puts in this level of work for their client. Keep in mind, this shop is slammed & has a bunch of other cars. Even though my car is no big deal & not as nice as the others in his shop, Rob didn't neglect it at all and made me feel like I was a damn VIP. Picked up the car earlier today & Rob walked me through the whole bill to make sure there were no surprises. After everything was all said and done, I went to my car and what do i find? Rob left me a couple of decals & license plate frames. After the way he treated me & my car, you're damn right Im going to be repping this shop & spreading the word. All in all, Im damn glad I brought my car here and I know for a fact that Rob will be the only mechanic to ever touch my car from this moment on. read more

Been going to this place since 2019, back when they were at the old location. Rob and his team have always gone above and beyond with their services and attention to detail. Rob is very knowledgeable and experienced when it comes it comes to the BMW platform. Their prices are very fair, and the quality of work is very good. They are always very accommodating and never have I been sold a service I did not need. There have been times where Rob has advised me on what would make sense for my vehicle, what is needed, and things that may not be necessary but may help out. Rob is an easy person to talk to and has the answers. It is hard to find a shop that is honest and provides quality work. Hands down the best experience I've had with any shop. I have never experienced this type of workmanship and customer service before until I found Rob and Speed Logic. Heard about Speed Logic through the forums and I was tired of all these mediocre shops in NorCal that are charging up the a**. So I took the risk and decided to drive all the way from NorCal and let me tell you, Speed Logic was definitely worth the drive. Rob's personality, professionalism, knowledge, and attention to detail is something that is very rare to find with many mechanics today. He makes sure the work is done the right way and that there are no short cuts. I brought in my e92 n54 with faulty turbos and went ahead to upgrade them to the Pure stage 2 DD, as well as upgraded silicone inlets, oil pan, walnut blasting, and other minor jobs. After 2 days, my car was ready to go. After my car was finished, Rob thoroughly showed and explained the work he has done despite being busy and having other cars to work on. He pointed out some minor errors and mistakes that my previous mechanic has done and fixed it upon himself. He also changed my oil with liquid molly and made sure my spark plugs were gapped correctly with no extra charge. I was shocked and surprised of the service I was receiving as most mechanics would never do this. Rob told me he wants the job to be done correctly so everything works and performs 100%. Took my car here around October 2019 and my car is still running like a champ with no problems what so ever. Overall, the best experience and very reasonably priced. I have been going to Rob for a while now for all my BMW needs and I highly recommend him as your future BMW mechanic! When I first met Rob, I remembered him as "Rob Socal Install Guy" and he was working out of his garage in Yorba Linda. The very first job he ever did for me was a walnut shell blasting and an oil change. I really hate when other people touch my baby (2012 335IS) and I'm always worried, but he was so knowledgeable and easy to work with, that I instantly felt like I could trust him with my baby. Even though the job took a little longer than expected, I still did not mind as I knew my baby was in good hands. Since that first job he did for me out of his garage, I have gone back to him multiple times for different things because I feel so comfortable knowing he will do a good job. Here are the other things he has done for me so far: chargepipe install, downpipe install, water pump placement, thermostat replacement, oil filter housing gasket replacement, oil cooler gasket and o-ring replacement, and brake fluid flush. I believe that is the complete list, but I might be missing something because I have been going to him for so long and my memory isn't the greatest. Anyway, as you can see, I fully trust Rob and his work and highly recommend him to anyone who owns a BMW and needs work done. He is now known to me as "Rob my mechanic and friend." This is the go-to spot for your BMW. Whenever I needed to get work done it was a smooth process. You can contact via Yelp/E-mail/Phone and after the request has been made the appointment system sets you up. The car won't sit there for months for no reason, once appointment date is set rest assured it will be worked on as fast as they can. The people there are nice and easy to deal with and know what they're doing. Never have I had to take the car back for the same issue as it was resolved first time around. However, in the rare instance it does need extra attention they will take care of you no problem. I don't think I'll be looking elsewhere for my BMW needs as this is THE spot. read more

If you have an E90 series BWM, and especially if it has been substantially modified, Rob is your man. While I enjoy driving this car, after market turbos, tunes, etc.., can cause you a number of issues over time. It's been tough trying to take this car to even a regular BWM mechanic for anything other than very routine stuff b/c they don't deal with these on a regular basis like Rob does. I first came to Rob a few months ago trying to track down an elusive boost leak. We started off a little rocky due to some communication issues but Rob made it right and took care of the issue. While there, I had a couple of oil leaks addressed by him as well and when I returned to pick up the car, Rob walked me through every step of the work he completed. And his pricing is very fair. I came back recently as I thought I had another boost leak based on some data logs but it turned out that my issues were as a result of my custom tune. Rob spent many hours tracking the problem down for me and in the end, refused to charge me, even though it didn't have anything to do with his prior work. No typical BMW mechanic would have been able to figure this out and provide me with a resolution. He remained long after closing hours in order to finish this for me too, since he knew I had driven down all the way from LA to get this done. We spoke for a number of hours and he gave me a lot of tips. I can tell he just loves these cars and isn't only about making a buck. That is rare. For me, its a relief to know I have found someone honest and with integrity to deal with any future problems this car may throw at me. read more

All I can say is WOW... I found out about Rob through the forums and decided to reach out to him in hopes of finding my go to mechanic for my 335is. After having a not so good experience with SSR Performance, I was really cautious this time around because I want to make sure I get the quality that I pay for. What I realized was I got much more than just a walnut blast service, I got an experience that is second to none when it comes to servicing my car. He was gracious enough to accept my last minute appointment and got my car done by the promised time. He actually paid for an Uber to drive me to the nearby Starbucks so that I can work on my laptop while I waited... WHO DOES THAT!? I didn't let him pay for the Uber ride back to his shop because I felt bad so I actually just walked 25 minutes to pick up my car. When I got back to the shop, I saw my car parked outside and I didn't notice it at first, but he actually popped up my sun shade to protect my car from the sun. I know it's something really silly but its a testament to how much he cares about the cars he works on. He showed me the video of my intake valves before and after the service and it was absolutely amazing. They are the cleanest intakes valves by far as compared to the marketing pictures that other So Cal shops post. I can tell he takes great pride in his work as he was really excited to show me the video. Who do you know that takes the time to actually record a personal video to the customer showing the before and after though each intake valve?? He then spent another 30 minutes answering all my quirky questions about my car since I do some basic maintenance myself. I tried asking those same questions to the people at other shops and they didn't really have insightful answers... They just wanted to get me out of there. To top it off, Rob gave me a really cool Speed Logic t-shirt. I felt really bad because I got such a good deal on the service so I wanted to pay him for it because I would happily rep his work but he did not take my money. I can go on and on but Rob TRULY treats the cars that he works on like his own. I expected to hopefully get my car serviced for a great price but I got an experience that I would never have expected. My brother and I have been coming to Speed Logic for almost two years now. Whether it's maintenance or performance modifications, this place does it all. From the beginning, Rob was always very informative and treated us more like friends rather than customers. You can trust him to perform an honest, accurate diagnostic of your BMW and to give an explanation on how certain components work. He'll show you the old parts he replaced on your car and even provides before/after videos for intake valve cleaning jobs.
