Not oil was my oil change done quickly and efficiently, Gerardo went above and beyond and spotted hidden problems that could have worsened if not caught sooner. KooI've gone to this place for oil changes maybe half a dozen times or more. I'm usually pleased with the service, as they have never approached me with some kind of weird upsale ("ooh, you need blahblahblah replaced....") after the job is done. Thats always been nice. But, I will never be back after today. Got my oil changed a week ago. I have a hybrid, and usually only drive on the electric engine. The first time it switched to the gas engine after the oil change, the car started smoking up a storm, and it kept slipping into low gear. I got a tow back home, charged the electric battery, and took it to speedy to check their work. They took a look under the hood, and declared they saw nothing wrong with the oil change. So, I take my car to the dealership, and they tell me there was a right mess of oil all over the engine. After a powerwash, the gas engine is back to its old self. Thanks, speedee for the mess, the denial of making it, and the 80 dollars I had to pay someone else to clean up the mess. Edit: they made this situation right and then some! I give no stars. This establishment should not runs business in Elk Grove community. Last month they service my parents vechicle for quick oil change service early afternoon. They said it will take 30 mins however it took them more than hour becuase they are short staff. "It seem to believe they actually busy!" So after few days later I was registering DMV card inside vehicle glove compartment. I notice the Mercedes leather hand book manual was missing, including emergengy road side and medical kits. I even checked rear trunk I discovered oem tire jack stands kits and jumper cables are missing too. So I made called make compliant about missing items the manager was not around only staff members who do not speak any English.... WTF... I called couples times no respond from manager!!!!!;( I hear lots former customers made compliants about this establishment past years. So basically this business are very dubious over charging and dishonest with customer service. My personal experience the mechanics and staff members distract customers then rummage inside vehicle steels anything they sees.... Process was kind of a joke and the brief encounter I had was unpleasant. I looked on their website and saw they had appointment windows available for the following day, so I chose the 9-11 slot. I entered my information, service I needed, and that I would be waiting for my vehicle. I arrived and let the young lady at the counter know I had done the online appointment. A guy from the garage had come in and barked a price at me, let me know it would take all day to fix because there are multiple cars in front of me, and was just unpleasant all around. I left and called a small, local place in Elk Grove and my car will be done in 2 hours. Why have an online appointment system that doesn't make the experience any different than me just walking in? JP is amazing. They are professional, courteous and skilled problem solvers. We got exceptional service. We are from out of town, on our way to Utah. We'd limped along for 250 miles with the undercarriage of our Camry almost dragging on the ground because we'd driven over a tire dropped by another vehicle. On the phone JP invited us to come in. He greeted us with a big smile. Today I had experience with these people ... I have an engineering education and what they do is clear to me. In order ... 1. Came to them with the task of changing the sensor on the transmission on a Honda (my wife's car). It was leaking oil ... The problem was obvious. I knew what to do. Price $442 (with a discount) so ok ... 2. Their manager says that there is no oil left in the transmission (but this is nonsense, the sensor is located at the top) 3. Took the car. Checking the work. Opened the hood and I see the asphalt ... Where is the pallet ?? They threw it out... This is a LARGE metal pallet, which is completed from the factory (no flaws) for the engine and transmission on a Honda which is 6 years old! The manager came running and began to tell tales ... What if my wife herself came to get her honda?? My experience CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO THEM!!! The car is your safety. read more

Took my car to get a smog and they failed it on visual .went back for a retest and the first time he said the smog guy already left for the day ,and they were still taking customers for smog.the second day I went there they told me they were booked 3rd time they said smog machine not working the 4th time that machine still not working and they said they'll call me when they're ready.I got tired of waiting after a week and took my car and smog n go and it passed .this place are failing cars because their smog machine does not properly and they don't tell you that.they take your money and fail your smog test.i'm making a complaint to the better business people too. read more

I've gotten a couple of other services done like a smog, tire patch, alignment and tire replacement. They've always done a good job. We took our Cadillac there for an oil change also in the same day and now we are having electrical problems. Keep in mind both cars were in great shape prior to being touched by these crooks. I randomly stopped by here the other day because I have put off my Smog test for TOO LONG. I need new tags and new tags fast!! LOL I've always seen and drove past this place countless of times so the location was convenient for me. For my visit, I didn't make an appointment so I stopped in to see if they could fit me in and how long it would take. Right when I got out of my car, l was greeted and attended to. I have been here multiple times and have never been let down once. In fact, I always have gotten superior customer service that other like-businesses should model. This is my regular shop. Typically, my dad, being a former military mechanic, will service my car as needed (lucky me). Unfortunately being in Elk Grove puts me a little too far from where he lives so Midas is the next best thing. I'm writing this review because all of my experiences at this location have been great but particularly my most recent. I was told I needed new breaks. In total, Midas quoted me $230 for everything I needed. I called the Mazda dealership for a quote and they told me it would be almost $500! That right there displays instant savings so I decided to go to Midas. When I arrived, I spoke with Gerardo. I had a couple of questions because there were some things going on with my car I wasn't sure about. He talked me through everything and came up with a game plan to take care of my car. He ended up doing a break inspection and discovered that my breaks were actually all fine. To top it off, he did a tire rotation and dug into the issue I was having a little deeper. He even asked me to take the car for a drive before I walked away from the shop, just to make sure he fixed the problem. I walked out of there spending HUNDREDS less than what I was anticipating AND the issue my car was having is gone. I can't thank them enough! I am only giving this one star so that I can actually make a review, otherwise I would give them nothing. I have taken my cars here for years for a quick oil service. After they talked me into bringing my daughters car back to do a belt and a transmission fluid service, I brought the car in at 8 AM and was told it would be done in an hour and a half. by 1 PM they hadn't even touched the transmission and had been putting everyone else's services before my car. Needless to say, I will not return for even the oil service. I understand people get busy, but you should never put other peoples service in front of a customer and that was there bright and early so that they could have their car for the rest of the day. read more

However, Speedee was considerably higher in price. After showing Justin the written quote from LS, he worked with me and I worked with him. The bottom line, is they did the job completely, while I waited, the price was comparable and I couldn't be happier! Thanks Justin for doing great work. Ok every time I go here they try to upsell me on air filter replacement. My glove box latch is broken, unless I'm uninformed the only way to get to a cabin air filter is through the glove box. Not sure how your tech opened my glove box to remove my cabin air filter. But it was sitting on my motor when I was walked out of the waiting room. Witch also is annoying I'm tired I'm here for oil change I don't need to be walked to my car and shown my filters. If they need replacing just say so. I decline. Whole situation stinks of a upsell. So now my broken glove box is rattling like crazy while I drove home. I'll resend this negative review if the cabin filter can be removed without opening my glove box. read more

As we pulled into town in my (new to me) 1980s Bronco, the lack of AC was killing us slowly. Called SpeeDee and they could take us. They did their best and didn't charge us full price because they weren't satisfied the problem was resolved. Got in the truck to drive another 400 miles and the engine started to overheat. These guys worked for the next day and half to get it running right. They also made me promise to call when I got home. I wish there were zero stars. We took my car in for an oil change in late in November and my husband got under the car today to change it again (no one has been under the car since SpeeDee), and there was a distinct KNIFE SLICE through the boot that was spraying grease on the underside of the car, all over the exhaust. It was the only boot accessible, directly next to the oil pan, which is where they were working. After this experience and seeing other similar reviews, it's clear that this is a crooked shop and has terrible mechanics, just looking to trick people to come back in the door. AVOID at all costs - save the money and damage risk to your car and change your oil yourself. Updated: he tagged my oil pan with the name Carlos and his "employee number" on our receipt says "69.,,,," so whoever they've hired that did this is messed up, and we'll find out. read more
