Went in for 1pm appt..Had to change it to 2pm appt due mechanic went on break. No problem i just went shopping lol. They did try to call me but i was driving at the time so they didn't get the chance to let me know the mechanic had gone on lunch break. Went back @2 my vehicle didn't pass smog for the 1st time ..They fixed the issue retested and she passed. I will definitely go back again.. Went in for a oil change and the staff were very nice and helpful, they were quick and efficient.

I'm in search of a place to get my oil change done regularly and still currently searching. I came here and they took me in right away and finished the job quickly which is a big plus. They do a good job there. The only thing that turned me off is I asked them if they could help me put some bulbs in my headlights. I have the bulbs and they told me it would be 160 dollars for them to install it. Again I wasn't expecting it to be free but to quote me 160 dollars to install light bulbs which costs more than an oil change? Again they do a good job when it comes to oil change and getting you in/out. Although it shouldn't be a deal breaker I personally will find another place to hopefully go regularly. read more

First of all, Panadda, you are a god sent. We were in a pinch, moving out of Hollister with limited time but our car needed smog ASAP for us to register and relocate it, along with brake issues. Panadda was very helpful, calm and accommodating. She explained thoroughly all the issues with our car and the services they can provide. These guys are amazing! Michael (one of the owners) was extremely communicative and worked with what we needed as customers. We were having issues with our diesel truck and they took it in right away on two separate occasions. They also worked with the deadlines we gave them to need our truck back by. They consistently finished the job prior to our deadlines, which we appreciated a lot! They have a diesel expert on staff, so they were able to successfully troubleshoot and replace our injectors and wiring harness to fix our trucks issue. They also showed a lot of integrity, which was very shocking because it's so rare to find honest and fair auto shops. They honored the original diagnostics price, even though it took longer than they anticipated to actually find the issue (10-15 hours). They only charged us for the parts and labor hours needed to replace them. Through the entire process, they were honest and cared more for us as customers than simply making a profit off of us. The smog tech Greg is an amazing guy, good knowledgeable person all around. My 1994 civic failed due to some minor issues, but he was able to help on the spot. He installed a part that was a safety feature on the car that I happened to have in my trunk & that allowed me to pass smog. Emission wise my car was good, but this little thing was going to stop me from getting a good smog, im grateful for honest people like him. A big thank you to the lady in the office who spoke with greg and communicated with me what the issue was. They could have sent me on my way and told me to come back, but they helped me & re did the smog on the spot. Awesome people read more

UPDATE: 01/07/24: In my opinion, this business does not care if they disappoint their customers. I was asked as seen in the response to email them about the incident. I emailed on 12/20/24 and a second time on 01/02/24 with no response. I have given plenty of time to respond because of the holidays and clearly they show no sign of responding. Very poor service and doesn't respond back giving false hope that your voice was heard. I came here for a simple oil change, and they BROKE MY WINDSHIELD!! In my opinion, NO RESPONSIBILITY was taken for their actions, and WAY OVERPRICED for an Oil Change. DO NOT COME HERE!!! VERY BAD SERVICE!!! I left my car here for service. Their website/ store states they close at 6pm. I got here today at 5:40pm and the store is closed with my vehicle in it. I did not get a courtesy call to tell me the store was being closed early. I can't drive to work tomorrow now. Update: I picked up the car this morning and apparently it was my fault. I should have picked up the car when they called. Their stated business hours aren't their business hours. They were slow so they decided to close early. They didn't feel that I needed to be called and informed that they were closing up early. No customer service. Told it was my fault. They did not give a discount for the inconvenience. My car required a smog test. I was told there were a couple in town. Dealerships and SpeeDee. I was told dealerships would charge a lot however, I was hesitant to take it to SpeeDee as I have heard so many bad things. Well, I didn't want to have to drive all the way to Gilroy for this and as I was driving, I noticed a "under new management" banner outside as well as the Star station certification banner. I thought humm under new management, maybe it's better now. I took it in and found a new owner, Panadda Lynch. The customer service was amazing. Such a friendly owner. Knowledgeable. Cared and helped. He got me in right away hardly any wait time. The smog passed. From beginning to end, I had such a pleasant visit here. Seeing as it is now under new better management, I am highly considering no longer driving to Gilroy for an oil change on all the vehicles but making SpeeDee my new go to. I've been taking mine and my family's vehicles here steadily every 5,000 miles for over 20 years now. Never really had a negative issue other than them trying to up sale extra items or work in order to charge more. I get that it's their job to and I always decline. If need tire or power train/brake work I go to San Benito Tire and if engine or other needs that I can't fix I go to German at Auto Tech. The 4 stars instead of 5 is just because over the years there seems to have been many owner/management changes and the cost seems kinds high now even tho I always use a coupon but it's obvious inflation is part of the reason to. It's not outrageously high. The service has always been fine. If there's a line it takes a while. If there's not a line they always get my vehicle back timely. read more

I asked to use my own oil brand, Royal Purple and they said that I cannot use it. I have to use their brand. This sucks because I have only used Royal Purple oil in my car since my first oil change in 2016. Now I have to drive 20 miles to Jiffy Lube in Gilroy the next town over. ( I live in a rural town Hollister CA). I then called Jiffy Lube and they said that they will gladly do the oil change without an appointment and use my oil that I bring. As they always have. Omg whatever you do, don't ever take your vehicle to be repaired at Speedee Midas on Airline Hwy. My husband and I had a nightmare of a time there. Took our van to get a hose leak fixed, which we had them check beforehand to get a quote and make sure that was the correct hose to be replaced. All was good until they decided to change a different hose that wasn't even leaking, communication was terrible and we had to keep calling with just being given the run around and no call backs, a job that should have probably took two days at most took over two weeks, and when we went to confiscate our vehicle back because enough was enough and frustration was high, he gave us a hard time. Now our vehicle doesn't work and is in worse shape than it was when we took it in! And the initial hose that was leaking wasn't even replaced! It's still leaking!! Ugh! Owner kept giving us the run around, trying to say our vehicle needed more extensive repairs when it was completely fine when we drove it in, of course besides that hose that needed to be replaced. Now it isn't even driveable! Frustrated and angry is an understatement. But all I can do is spread the word so this doesn't happen to anyone else. Please beware! read more

Noticed that they didn't top off my antifreeze 33 days later I went for a simple top off and was met with a stern. No, I cannot believe it. went in for an alignment on my truck they told me i need some parts on it that they need to order them and they were gonna give a total to see if i was okay with it, they give me the total (it was a lil overpriced but needed the job done) they told me that the parts were gonna be in next day if i could bring the truck next day i told them that i get off from work at 4pm and they said they need at least 1:30hrs to do the job and they close at 5pm so i asked for permission at work to get off early and when i was driving to the shop they called me that they didn't got the parts yet until next day. i took it in next day and when i went to pick up my truck they just change the price without consulting first if i was okay with it when the job was already don, it was overpriced already and they add the cherry on top. read more

I had a really bad experience here a few years ago and had since not returned. This morning, I thought I should give it another shot and I was poorly mistaken for doing so. I showed them a tire that I needed fixed - they said it couldn't be fixed and told me it needed to be replaced. I had bought the tire there at their Big O Tire store (same owner, next door) and the technician said it should be covered under warranty. Cool, I thought. When I get there and ring up the order, they didn't mention the tire, so I asked about it and the cashier went to ask the technicians. They said that "they don't know how to file warranty paperwork" and therefore they can't warranty the tire. I asked them to just replace the tire and figure out the warranty later, which they denied. The cashier said the owner's son comes in and sometimes runs the place and knows how warranties work, so I offered to leave the tire there until he comes in and can process the warranty. They said no. They said to go to a different location because they would not be processing a warranty for a tire that I bought there. I went down the street to San Benito Tire and Brian took one look at the tire and said "yeah, we can patch that!" and a few minutes later we were back in shape. I took my GMC Yukon for an oil change. I told them I wanted synthetic blend (which I have always got because its so expensive), He said sorry you can only get full synthetic now. I told em look in the system I have got the blend since day 1 here. He then says we cant do that anymore the owner changed his rules. So I then tell em ok lets just do it. I go inside and wait about an hour and a half. Finally my car is finished. The owner starts ringing me up... Remind you its $99 to do this oil change vs $69 for the synthetic blend. It comes out to about $110. So before I pay I give em a $15 off coupon. He scans it and it takes the $15 off which should took me down to about $95. The tells me "oh I forgot your car needed an extra quart of oil" Then takes on another 8 bucks lol. Needless to say he didnt care for that coupon and did all he could to get the cost right back up. I can see it in his face he was irritated when I gave him the coupon. He is lucky he is the only place that does these in and out oil changes in Hollister or no one would go here! read more
