Drew at Speedworks was there for me at a very difficult time. I had a short amount of time to find someone to consign a car, and took a leap of faith with Speedworks, and I am very glad I did! Drew and his team took great care of my needs and respected my situation's complexity and sensitivity, and did everything they promised they would. Read on for the story: Back in 1999 my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and given about 18 months. On top of all this, she needed a new car she could trust, but also one that would hold value well. She drove a manual trans her whole life and wanted something still fun, so I helped her buy a brand new 1999 Honda Civic Si Coupe. The beautiful electric blue one that everyone loved. She had the dealer install a full leather interior, and a set of good quality floor mats, but no other upsells, not even the rear spoiler those blue Civics always came with. She managed to beat her cancer that time, and again and again over the next 26 years, she fought it off. And the Si was perfect for her. Fun to drive, looked great, and was well taken care of. Garaged, kept spotless, and over those 26 years? Just barely reached 100k miles. Last year, cancer won the battle, and took her from us. The Civic did exactly what it was supposed to, was Honda reliable, was Si sporty, but most importantly, it held its value very well. It was supposed to be an emergency fund in case she ever needed to sell it, but she managed to never crack open that piggy bank. So when she passed, she left the car to me. Here was the issue: I no longer lived nearby. She lived in Kirkland, and I lived in Charlotte, North Carolina. I too loved the car, and wouldn't have mind keeping it. But I knew if I did, I wouldn't be able to resist and I would drive it hard. It would be a blast, but it wouldn't last long in my hands. And it was such a great car. The sports car "grandma only drove on Sundays", come to life in my mom's care. Comparing it to other '99 Si's out there, nearly all of them were heavily modified. Suspension swaps, motor builds, you name it, people did it to that car. But hers? Nearly spotless and insanely low miles. I knew selling it to a Honda enthusiast that maybe, always dreamed of owning a blue Si coupe? Yes that was a much better way to celebrate my mom's legacy with this car. To show it was a hidden gem, almost a barn find kind of car. Of course, others in my family didn't get it. KBB said the car was worth $2600 at best, and $1800 on average! I was crazy to think it was worth more! But I ignored them, and set out to find a dealer who understood. I grew up in the Seattle area, I had several Hondas of my own, including a mildly built LX sedan while in college in the 90s. Honda culture was strong in Seattle, surely there were a few dealers that would be interested. But I was only in town for about a week for my mom's funeral and to look after her affairs with family. I didn't have much time. I called 5 other places before I got a hold of SpeedWorks NW. Two actually laughed a little when I mentioned the car, my #1 target didn't seem to give me the time of day after 3 left messages (that they still never returned). But Drew answered the phone, listened to my story and asked me to bring the car by. It was a Sunday afternoon when I finally had time to. In person he was great, looked over the car thoroughly, as well as the maintenance records I brought with. We discussed several options, including putting some money into a few minor things and running an auction, and we came up with a staged plan. His numbers were fair, and we shook hands and inked a deal. I had to go, and a few days later was no longer in the state. It took a little while to sell (winter is never good to sell a car), but his team found a good buyer at a respectable price. They stayed in touch the entire time, always asked me before taking any action, and worked with the executor of my moms estate for paperwork when needed. Even driving to meet her halfway when it helped. I may never need to call Drew again to sell a car, but if I ever do find the need, I would, without hesitation. Thank you SpeedWorks! Scheduled a time on Saturday to look atan Evo and no one showed up to show the car even after agreeing to show up

It was pointed out to me by this business that I should update my review to include that they paid for a new crankshaft for me, which is true. Although, this only covered a small percentage of the costs incurred by the false advertising of the vehicle and did not include the cost to install. Also, it was a battle to even get that much assistance from them and I believe the only reason that they did was because I was working with a prominent local shop. As stated previously, I am aware that I purchased an old vehicle that would need some work, even though throughout the sales process I was told the vehicle was ready to be a daily driver. I never would have posted a negative review if this business had just worked with me appropriately during the process to make it right. I have to take a certain amount of responsability for what happened here. I purchased an EVO 1 from these guys and explained that if we could do a walk around video and they answered my questions that it would save me the trip to go and check the car over. I told them i didnt expect a new car but please point out any paintwork, damage, general ware etc. I was told clearly that the vehicle ran extremely well and mechanically sound and may have possibly been tuned. I was told there were no signs of paintwork. Im in the car business and explained that. I purchased the EVO and upon arrival and a brief check over it was clear that the vehicle had been painted poorly on one side. There were wheel bolts missing which was really concerning and the car in general was extremely edgy. I sent it to a local specialist so he could go right through the car. Nearly every bush needed replacing, ball joints, brakes and it was running 120 bhp according to their dyno (should be around 200) I called speedworks up and whilst we had a dignified conversation the bottom line was "what do you expect from a 30 year old car" Tread carefully and inspect any vehicle you intend to purchase from these amateurs. read more

This review unfortunately has to be edited. A year after dropping 13k in cash on this van, it simply did not start. A mechanic looked at it and, the fuel injectors are rusted right onto the engine block and it will need almost a full rebuild. It is totalled. They also painted over copious amounts of rust on the chassis, and now a year later the paint is gone and all that rust is showing up. My advice is keep looking elsewhere. Things can be covered and juiced up to look good for a while, but the truth always comes out eventually. I'm deeply disappointed and let down because I recommended this dealership to several people. I'm not sure what compels human beings to do this kind of thing to someone looking for reliable transportation. I have pictures of the chassis from the day I bought it being completely black, and now a year after being parked in a garage it's covered in rust. It's obvious what they did. And it sucks. I was very naive at the time of buying and jumped at the deal. There's rust everywhere, the bushings on my suspension are all shot and the drive train is hanging on by a thread. So I didn't buy from them but they are great helpful people I was at the Tacoma port and it was my first ever time there and my first ever time importing a vehicle myself I didn't know how to load up the vehicle onto my trailer because it was sketchy since the vehicle I got was a kei van and jt was too small for the trailer so he put my kei van onto his trailer and somehow transferred the vehicle from his trailer to mine he did all the work with some help of his friend he was with I really appreciate it if your reading this you guys know who you are and thank you once again I really appreciate it read more
