I ordered the mixed salad with maple vinaigrette and the dressing was tasty and the salad was a good portion size. For a meal I ordered the Cajun Jambalaya and it was not spicy at all. In fact there was only a tomato sauce taste to it. I do NOT recommend this dish if you're looking for TRUE jambalaya. The drinks were pretty watered down and the wine is SUPER EXPENSIVE for the pour that you get. SRH is still a staple in my restaurant index. Recently I have have sticking to their delicious Cobb salad (which was once just a special!). It is the perfect about of everything to fill you up just right. I'm still enjoying the loaded tots but now I get sweet potato to add a little extra oomf. Other things in the menu like the jambalaya, curry and Korean bowl are definitely worth a try. Each is delicious in its on way, you won't be disappointed! Our appetizer of tater tots with smoked paprika aioli satisfied, but just didn't leave me wanting more. The tots were very crispy but a little underwhelming in flavor, could have used even just some more salt. The aoili was very flavorful and definitely made the dish, but was so thick we lost a lot of it to the little paper cup it came in. My friend's orders of fish & chips not only were delicious according to them but was a very small order of fish, costing $27 each. I had 1/2 soup and sand which combo with tomato soup. Excellent. Daughter 1 had the simply grilled salmon and broccoli with rice. Salmon perfectly seasoned and cooked. Well where do I start??? It's Friday night which means it's a No cooking night we both decided we wanted to get pizza from someplace different. We decided on Spenard Roadhouse.. checked out the menu online and decided on the pepperoni pizza since that goes well with our Friday night beverage. Since it was a gorgeous night in Anchorage we decided to order and after the confirmation I was told it would be about 40 minutes out... we'll about 30 minutes later I got a text saying my pizza was ready for pick up?? Say what when does that happen that your order is early . Drove over went in..place was hopping picked up the pizza and when we got in the car the aroma was Awesome! Amazing food and quick service. We came for lunch during a work day and were able to be in and out in about an hour or so.

Food was good. We tried a variety of items in our group of 6. The bacon special was wonderful, enchiladas filled with bacon. Nicely spiced. Interesting drink menu. I had a tasty Rhubarbara Streisand. My only negative was that the service was a bit slow. We had to ask for some things more than once, but the food made up for it. Atmosphere was comfortable with cool photos and maps on the walls. I called in a simple pepperoni pizza, provided my card number and called the restaurant with my parking space number when I arrived. After just a couple of minutes of waiting, they brought out they beautifully crafted, amply topped, super cheesy, crunchy crusty pepperoni pizza. I was back home before the previous episode reviews of the Sopranos had finished. I really couldn't have asked any more from a pizza. It was hot, well-balanced, generously dressed with a crust recipe that I would love to re-create myself. I came here right before my flight (as it's mid point between downtown and the anchorage airport) and I'm so glad that I did. Many of the locals suggested this place but also filled with tourists. It was a Friday evening and the place was packed; no reservations made. It was a short wait and everything was moving along nicely. Seated at a booth and the friendly waiter took orders very professionally. I ordered the Korean rice bowl (part of the large plates) without the aioli sauce and added tofu. It can also be customized with other protein options. There are a few vegan options and almost anything can be veganized. Shortly after the food arrived which came in good timing, I was ready to eat. Time wasn't exactly on my side but thankfully the airport is small. The Korean rice bowl came with sesame soy glaze, black beans, red pepper, mushrooms, ak bean sprout kimchi, green onion, cilantro, sriracha, jasmine rice, and tofu. We went in on a Thursday night for dinner around 7 and were told there would be a short wait of 15-20 mins, which we were okay with. However we waited less than 10 mins before a table was cleaned for us. I liked their varied menu selections and their home made sodas looked really good to me. My son and I ordered the spicy ginger and lavender lemonade. Both were great - the lavender lemonade was not too sweet and had a lovely lavender after taste. The spicy ginger soda had a ginger and cayenne kick to it and was very soothing. For dinner we shared a Hawaiian pizza and reindeer sausage pizza. The pizzas had a good crispy crust. The reindeer sausage pizza was spicy, with a good dose of meat. The Hawaiian pizza was okay with its jalapeño and pineapple flavors. My little one ordered the strawberry sorbet for dessert which was sweet and tart. We ordered a chocolate torte. We'd heard time and time again that Spenard Roadhouse was a solid spot for American and fusion bites, though we haven't been doing much takeout/delivery lately we had them at the top of our list to try and we're glad we did! Our absolute favorite is the fig and prosciutto pizza, reminisce of a favorite pizza I'd had years ago in Northern Cali. Not too big of a pizza, reasonably priced, great flavor, and fresh ingredients. The other has gotta be that banana cream pie! Rich, creamy, big banana flavor - an excellent dessert that doesn't sit too heavy with you after dinner! We've tried the blackened brussel sprouts and have found them to be hit or miss - when they are a miss they are fine, but when they are a hit they're delicious! Their Korean rice bowl is reminiscent more so of a Mexican/Asian fusion rice bowl than Korean specifically in my opinion - had a familiar taste overall that I couldn't quite place. Either way, tasty and a decent portion size. The other pizzas fell a little short for us, the ribs were rather dry(we reheated them the next day in a homemade bbq sauce and they were much better), and the Thai curry was a bit underwhelming. All in all, definitely going to be in our regular rotation - especially with the menu having slight changes over time! read more

I avoided this place because my perception was wrong. With the name I imagined it as steakhouse or even a buffet type restaurant. It is neither. It has eclectic and tasty options on the menu. Like Spicy Thai Coconut Curry. And a veggie plate like roasted Brussels, grilled zucchini, mashed potatoes. Well normally not mashed potatoes. But these mashed potatoes tasted like they were grilled. How do you make mashed potatoes taste like they're grilled? Add liquid smoke? The spicy coconut curry did have a little spice but it was the type of spice that seems more like temperature hot than jalapeño hot. Pair the delightful food with an excellent beer and libation selection (they had a whole page of top shelf whiskey) and you almost have a trifecta. Which brings me to my final analysis point. The seating arrangement. It is very close confines. You're right on top of other tables. At any given time, I felt like I was competing against three other conversations. This is a great spot in Anchorage for a casual meal. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The space is very modern, and clean. They always have a nice rotating craft beer selection, craft cocktail selection, craft soda, and a lovely selection of whiskey/bourbon. The menus rotate quite frequently which I am always a big fan of. I love going into a place, and being greeted with new selections. The service is always super friendly, and always on top of their tables. We have dined here for lunch, and dinner and have always enjoyed our meal. I love their cheese curds with bacon jam. Being from the Midwest I am a huge cheese curd lover/connoisseur. There are the best I have found in the Anchorage area. They were lightly breaded, and the bacon jam that they served the curds with was absolutely delicious. Way better than the standard ranch dressing--I did not think cheese curds could get better, but Spenard Roadhouse really stepped the game up. For appetizers, the bacon of the month is also always fun to order as well. Their burgers and sandwiches are really tasty, and always loaded with a lot of great ingredients. Idk our waiter's name but he was very attentive and memorized our order ( which gave my four stars to a five just for him haha) We ordered the roadhouse pimento cheese dip as an appetizer because we were curious! It was OK. Don't know if I would order it again. Correct me if I'm wrong! My absolute all time fave is the QUINOA SALAD. Get it with chicken. Literally can eat this all the time. It's so tasty, and the best part about it is...it's healthy!!!! Even my husband who tends to stray from salads lovessss this one. Get the fried chicken sandwich. It's one of the BEST dishes here. It's crispy, freshly hot, and the chicken is thick and chunky. Mac n cheese is a great combo with it I was not really impressed with Roadhouse burger, BUT my husband enjoyed it very much.
