Ordered online for takeout and WOW! Probably the best Indian food I've had in the city. The butter chicken was delicious and came with a big serving of basmati rice, the garlic naan was soft and chewy (and huge!), and the spicy chicken momos were a pure treat. I've never had Nepali food before but those momos were life changing. The only underwhelming dish was the aloo gobi which was undercooked and lacked flavor, but everything else made up for it. I ordered the veggies samosas, chicken momo and tandoori chicken. Fairly standard stuff. For starters they completely forgot the samosas. Not a good start. Moving on the momo's were quite oily which I thought was odd for a steamed dumpling. The overall taste was alright. The tandoori chicken was standard. Nothing stood out. I could have got this stuff from anywhere. I'll also put it out there that from the time I was told my delivery guy had my food it took over an hour (it's a 15 minute bike ride to my apt from the restaurant). And the food was completely cold. So basically, I didn't get everything I ordered, what I did get was cold and absolutely average. So maybe sit down to eat there but don't bother with delivery. read more

I ordered chicken Spicy momos and samosas for lunch. First of all their menu is VERY UNCLEAR!!! They should absolutely mention on the menu that the momos are gonna be drenched in the spicy sauce. When I say drenched I mean soaked completely that you cannot even take a bite, but instead what they have mentioned is "Served Spicy" It absolutely ruined my lunch. Came here with a friend for the myrtle ave restaurant week. We tried: veg pakoras, veg momos (steamed), paneer makhani, navaratan korma, gulab jamun and rasmali. The pakoras and momos were excellent, though the pakoras were a bit salty. Paneer makhani and navaratan korma were on the sweeter side, but I've noticed this is common of nepali restaurants, so it might be a regional thing. The rasmalai was good but the gulab jamun, while soft, was very sweet and lacked the nuance that makes gulab jamun great. They also gave us garlic and chili naan, both of which were excellent. When you first step in the door you're greeted with smiling faces with a want to make your day special. The food is delivered hot and there is plenty of space to enjoy your meal. When I bit into the lamb chops my mind went to a special place, I don't know anyone on the whole strip on Myrtle Ave that makes a lamb chop as juicy and delightful as this place. I also recommend the chicken tiki which also made my eyes open with joy as I gazed in to my wife's eyes we both knew we found a special place to dine in or to order take out. Had this for a very late dinner, they were open till 10pm on a weekday during COVID time. Can't say much about the physical restaurant itself as I had ordered delivery. I had the chicken tikki masala, steamed chicken momo, and aloo naan. The waft of spices leeched outta the paper bag as soon as it arrived and my mouth was watering. The chicken tikki masala was creamy and rich, the chicken was moist and tender with every bite. It came with a container of rice that soaked up the sauce. Chicken momos as basically chicken dumplings. The wrapper was nice and chewy, the filling inside was juicy and soft and oh so delicious. There was also a container of some unidentified sauce that paired well with this, not spicy at all but still flavorful. The aloo naan came steaming hot, not much filling inside but I liked it that way otherwise it would have made the naan too damp and heavy with too much filling. The potatoes were spiced perfectly, surrounded by warm, toasty naan that was also chewy. Would definitely recommend and would go again, even if it has to be during COVID time. I am always on the hunt for a place that will take me back to Nepal. With all my choices in NY this one has been the most authentic in food and hospitality. I had the veg. Momo's and they were fantastic, paired with the same amazing and perfectly spicy sauce that is served in Nepal. It was a cold night, so I had the Mulgutabt soup, it was fabulous, so much flavor and very hearty. I should say from the start that this review is not about the food. The food is fine. Good, even. Not amazing. But good. However, I've lived three blocks from this restaurant since long before the opened and they can NOT seem to get their act together. The few times I've tried getting delivery - every year or so, I forgot or think that maybe this time will be different - it has taken well over an hour, sometimes 90 minutes, to get the food and it has arrived lukewarm. They don't answer their phone. Their voicemail is full. There is rarely anyone in the place. I've certainly never seen it full. I usually don't go to eat there because I don't want to be in an empty restaurant. I walked in one time this past summer and walked right out after realizing that they have no air conditioning. They seem to be surviving on their delivery business, but their delivery service is terrible. To be fair, I know that this isn't entirely their fault. Seamless, Doordash, Caviar, whatever - delivery services have ruined dining in Brooklyn. I rarely get delivery any more, because there are only two restaurants in my neighborhood on which I can depend to delivery in a reasonable amount of time. Don't even get me started on Uber Eats. I've seen those people double-park with their kids in the car to make deliveries. It's one of the reasons so many restaurants around here fail within their first year. No one goes to eat in them. They just order their takeout Thai and watch Tik Tok. So I guess I'm giving Spice & Grill two stars for their failure to adapt to the realities of the restaurant business in Brooklyn. If they find a way to get some people into their restaurant, fix their air conditioning, and a lot more delivery guys, maybe I will have a chance to write a review about their food. read more

Came here late on a Thursday to grab some takeout. The staff was incredibly friendly. I ordered the dinner box which was $7.99 plus tax. You get either a vegetable curry or a chicken curry. When I got home the food was still very very hot. The chicken curry was more of a tikka masala. It came with some rice and a large piece of naan. I really love indian food and sadly this one didnt hit the mark. The chicken curry was just ok and the vegetable samosa was actually bad. I didnt finish it. I think they might have completely forgotten an ingredient. The food was pretty affordable and the staff was friendly so perhaps I will give them another shot. read more

This is by far, my favorite restaurant to date. My family and I came here for dinner one night because we wanted to try something new, not really expecting anything. They truly surprised me. The food is to die for. Their (both chicken and veggie) chilli momos are a MUST in your meal. My family and I got two other curries (veg tikka masala and something with chicken) and both were so delicious. They come with rice but I really prefer to eat them with naan. After falling in love, I decided to host my birthday dinner here. Our group was large (around 25-28 people) so I was a little nervous but the restaurant was able to not only accommodate us but provide such excellent service. I was astonished by how quickly we were able to get our food and how nice all of the servers were. Afterwards, everyone RAVED about the food and I mean literally no one had something negative to say. Some of my friends took leftovers home and texted me in the morning about how they were excited to eat the leftovers. I was so happy. You all were able to make this night one of the best nights I've ever had. I don't really write yelp reviews anymore but I just had to after my time here. Not sure what changed - I deleted my 5 star review of this place because my lunch was delivered late and cold, the veg lunch box only came with one dish to try (used to be two), and it was nowhere near as flavorful as I remember from previous orders. Full disclosure, I have a cold, but being sick was my whole basis for ordering spicy food, and there was next to no spice in the dish, even though I asked for it that way. That was a real bummer! There is also the issue of deceptive and frustrating online ordering. I don't recommend you try the platform outside of Yelp. FYI the coupon they have advertising on Yelp is 10% off, but it doesn't specify you need to order $75 dollars worth of food. There is a delivery fee under $20, which makes sense, but it too is not specified until check out. If you realize this and have to go back from checkout to change your order, none of your information is saved and you have to type it all out again. Searched for an Indian place nearby and found this high rated restaurant around the corner! The staff was very courteous, attentive - he came by at least three times to fill my water, just check if everything was ok, didn't rush me at all. Their menu was extensive with ample vegetarian options. I got the Vegetable Korma and Butter Naan for $12.95 and $2.95 respectively which isn't bad at all!
