Chicken Thali
Carmen C.

This was place was a random pick off of restaurants in the area and I'm glad I picked this one. The service was great and fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In the beginning they give you an appetizer with some chutney. The food was good too. We got the chicken thali, which gave you an array of food assortment on a tray, beautifully played. We also got a classic chicken tikka masala which was flavorful. And garlic naan to go with the meal which was a good amount of crisp and chewy. Highly recommend the masala fries if you're there to have a snack. The mango lassi was more aromatic/floral than what I would normally get from other spots with similar cuisine. Regardless, the waiter was very nice and I would be coming back here.

Disappointed. I checked on Yelp and saw many five star reviews and some from Yelp Elites (a three star Elite review as well as other 2 and 3 star reviews were similar to my experience). I tried the Saag Paneer - delivery. The food was lukewarm. The Saag Paneer was very very salty with a layer of oil on the surface. Did not enjoy.

Vegetarian thali

This is my favorite Indian restaurant in the area. The food is always very well made. They don't cut corners on preparation or presentation. The waiters are also very friendly. I especially recommend the vegetarian thali for anyone who has time for a nap afterward.

Tandoori Chicken , Garlic Naan, Butter Chicken Makhani

My friend and I came here for dinner on Sunday night. Although Nepalese food has been something I've wanted to try for a few months, she selected this restaurant from a host of others along Myrtle Ave. The food did not disappoint! From the outside, the restaurant looks a bit cold and uninviting, but please don't let that deter you. The staff inside is super welcoming, warm hearted and keep the temperature well regulated. The appetizers included two large veggie samosas and about 6 good sized fried chicken momos. The chicken momos definitely lived up to the hype. Nice crispy exterior with tender, juicy chicken filling. I couldn't try the tomato peanut sauce that was served with the momos due to allergies. So I had some tamarind sauce with mine. However, my friend said the momos were yummy with the traditional tomato dipping sauce. As an entree, I had sizzling tandoori chicken and garlic naan. My friend had the butter chicken and garlic naan. There was a sizable portion of basmati rice for the table. The garlic naan is a must order with your entree! The crust is nicely crisp, yet the bread is light and fluffy. Mango lassi was the perfect consistency- not too thick and not too runny. The appetizers and entrees were 5/5 stars on their own. For dessert we had gulab jamun, which reminds me of a mini pancake ball soaked in rosewater syrup. I did wish there were more dessert options without nuts or dairy. Fortunately, I was able to have the almonds withheld from my gulab jamun. I removed a star from my rating for the dessert since I prefer something warm and sweet to end my meal. The waitress did tell us afterwards that we could have requested to have it heated though. Overall, this is a nice cozy restaurant with a caring chef and sweet wait staff.

the momos were good, but I got medium spice, and it was serious. lol Look around when you're walking around. You will come across some of the most friendly people and tasty spots. A Saturday night exploring editon. Walked in, and we got chicken momos medium spiced they are serious, lol. But extremely good. Veggies momos and the butter chicken with garlic Nan. You are served crackers and dipping sauce to begin, and you drink your water out of copper cup similar to like if you ordered a Moscow mule. That water kept cold and refreshing. You needed it to deal with the spices. I'll be back for more. Come check it out.

Paneer Tikka Masala

Not a fan unfortunately. Paneer Tikka Masala as in the picture was extremely oily (the entire top layer was oil, more oil than you'd find in Saudi Arabia tbh). Chilli paneer was also underwhelming and had a weird artificial coloring flavor to it. Will not be ordering from here again

incredible food and fast service. Their mango lassi is rich and flavorful and have such a wide array of naan options. They are extremely attentive to guests needs, always ask your desired spice level, and make helpful suggestions. One of my favorite places to get Indian cuisine!

NAAN
Sarah Z.

I ordered delivery from this place and was shocked how quick it came on a Wednesday evening! It's only 10mins by car so that's most likely why. Ordered: Lamb bryani 2 different naans (regular and garlic) Chicken vindaloo I felt that the quality was pretty good, naan bread looked pretty big - which was amazing soft and fluffy and the flavors were on point. The chicken was a little tough but it's probably bc they use the same chicken from the tandoori grilled so it can be rather dry. They might be able to improve on that. Sauce was good, we ate all of it and the lamb was tender in the Biryani. It's a tad overpriced (but given the area that makes sense) but for this quality I would order it again.

How does this place not have 5 stars !!! The food is insanely incredible and the service too ! Amazing We got the chicken tikka kebab and lamb tikka they were to die for ! Literally charcoal grilled and juicy best i had in a while Mango lassi with a hint of cardamom =amazing And veggie samosa fresh and delicious will be coming back

Great find! Delicious and high quality food and excellent service. The servers were great about recommendations got the salmon tikka masala, mango lassi, and chicken biriyani with some naan. Family style restaurant and great size portions.

Veg kothe MOMO
Angela Y.

4 stars for food, 5 stars for the staff/management! We ordered take out for dinner since my friend lives nearby and we really wanted some momos. We picked up our order and had a delightful conversation with the new owner who invited us to the grand opening and told us his plans to install TVs for sports games. They also gave us 2 complimentary desserts! Let me tell you the momos did not disappoint. We got the veg kothe momos (steamed and fried) and they were probably the best veg momos I've ever had because they were so flavorful!! Same with the masala fried and the paneer pakora, I have no idea how they put so much flavor into their veg appetizers! We also got the baigan bhartha (eggplant) and the chicken Thai. We didn't love the eggplant curry because it was too sweet. The chicken Thai had some hits though (loved the chicken and the lentils and the naan). Each entree came with rice and was a generous portion. The galab jamun and rice pudding were also yummy. Will definitely come back!

Craving Indian cuisine, I ordered take out from this establishment. I really appreciated that the 15% off from the Yelp check in, which the place honored even though there is no dining in during this time. While I was waiting, the person who took my order, provided me with a complimentary spiced black tea, which tasted so comforting, wonderful, and slightly exotic, with notes of clove and chai. I decided to order the Tandoor Mix Grill, garlic naan and of course, Mangolassi, my favorite Indian drink. The Mangolassi was incredibly bright orange and had a weird aftertaste to it that is difficult to describe. I did like how it was extremely thick, chilled though. It was just a tad too sweet. I wasn't a fan of the garlic naan. There wasn't enough garlic for me and the naan was too thick - I prefer thinner and crunchy, while still being fluffy. This meal also came with basmati rice. The Tandoori Mix Grill consisted of chicken, lamb, beef and shrimp. Everything was flavored beautifully with a perfect amount of char and crispness. My favorite was the shrimp, which was nice and juicy. The lamb was also very tasty, and quite tender. I think my least favorite was the beef, as it was a bit on the tough side. Overall, I wasn't that impressed and would probably not return.

Finished delicious dinner

Definitely best Indian food that we've ordered for delivery. Lamb korma and chicken Makahni were super. Will definitely order again.

The worst ordering experience. Online system doesn't work. Calling in just came upon an unhelpful woman who hung up the phone on me.

The food types are similar but offer different spice/flavor profiles. They have a large section of noodles, soup, and rice. A veggie section with various combos of cauliflower, potatoes, onion, bamboo, blackened peas, mustard greens, and spices. Some of the Indian dishes: paneer butter masala, palak paneer, chicken tikka masala. Some of the appetizers include crispy tofu, fried soybeans, a Nepali snack platter with marinated meat, goat, beef tripe, sliced beef tongue, fried jerky, duck. They also have a momo section. We had their famous chicken lollipops (essentially fried chicken) and it was crispy and spicy (in a good way). We also had sadeko (marinated or tossed) bacon, which was rich and tender. I had one of their Nepali cocktails, which was pleasantly spicy (the chatpata aam, made with tequila, spicy chatpatey syrup, and mango puree). Service was attentive. Inside is cozy, lots of dark wood and colorful flags. They also often have entertainment in the evening, so I would love to return to hear some live music while trying more Nepali cuisine.

The first time that I came here was about 3 years ago with a few friends and we liked the food - the beef tongue was different and super memorable and the jhol momos were just swimming in flavorful curry. Made me want to come back again. Fast-forward three years later, I feel like things have changed significantly. Or maybe I didn't catch them at their best, but I came with another group of friends and I just felt overall disappointed with the food, as did my friends who were excited to try Himalayan food for the first time. I had the goat dhat bhat and the small amount of meat served in aesthetically pleasing bowls to mask the portion was disappointing--and this was not a lunch special or anything. I mainly got a big bone and realistically got about 2-3 small bites of actual meat, while there was an overwhelming amount of rice and veggies. The momos also tasted like they were pre-made and heated or steamed up again because the dough was definitely a little rough. Overall, this experience was a meh for me. I think it is a social staple for many Nepalese and Tibetans in the area, and just for that.

It was a good portion, enough for one to finish. The lentil soup was on the saltier side, and the potatoes with string beans tasted a little fishy. But, altogether, everything was an interesting mix. I felt like I was eating a mix of Chinese- and Indian-inspired food. The mustard greens reminded me of Chinese fare, while the touch of spicy chutney reminded me of Indian cuisine. After the main meal, I tried their fried green tea ice cream. The dessert was beautifully presented, and tasted as I would have expected: a touch of bitterness from the green tea ice cream, covered in batter. While the food was maybe a 4, the ambiance was easily a 5. The artwork was breathtaking! Whoever commissioned the artwork did a great job. At night, they dim the lights and add (fake) candles, so the artwork stands out even more, and the ambiance feels soothing. Service was good. The owner was very accommodating. All in all, Namaste Brooklyn is in a great location in Brooklyn and offers patrons a trip to a different part of the world. Check it out if you're nearby!

And to think that we would have missed out if our server didn't suggest it... These particular naans are made different from the traditional Iones. They are coated with buttery goodness and are super thin. The hummus on the side was also a very good pairing. I would recommend this app. PORK JHOL MOMO 5/5 These pork momos were also super delicious! Comparing it to the ones I've had at another restaurant, there is no overpowering cilantro in this one! The momo itself was very juicy. The flavor of the inside and the soup was delicious. Another must-get! CHICKEN KHAJA PLATTER 4/5 My friend and I were probably the least impressed with this one. A lot of the dish includes a lot of dry ingredients like popped rice & soybean seeds. They also used cold meats and veggies.
