Spice Culture has very solid indo-chinese food. For 6 people we tried many dishes. They were all decent with a few standouts: Appetizer favorites: - Crispy Lotus Wheel - our overall favorite! Savory and perfectly cooked. - Gobi Manchurian (dry) - good flavor and texture - Lemon Coriander soup - bright, tangy and has a good kick Entree favorite: - Chili Basil Tofu - our fave by a long shot. mildly spicy and tons of flavor. sauce was addicting They recommended the brownie dessert but we weren't huge fans due to the texture. The moong dal halwa was decent though. The service was spotty and inconsistent but the food made up for it. They also didn't rush us in any way and allowed us to take our time. The noise level gets a bit loud as it's a big place that gets crowded. I'd definitely come back or even get takeout for the indo-chinese!

These Insta reels and Social media, I am telling you, they exaggerating things... we were coming back home from Edison and took a detour (cause I have seen some reels, claiming it is known for Indo-chinese dishes) We entered, and the receptionist asked for a reservation, we did not have any- did not know it was a "fine dine-in", still she accommodated us and we got a table in 10 minutes (thank you!) It was Saturday evening, and it was full house, too chaos, too noisy... * Manchow Soup- 3.5/5 * Veg Manchurian Dry- it was okay, nothing to mention here. 2.5/5 * Chili Garlic Noodles- Oily but it was great, good mix of garlic and spiciness level- 4.5/5 * Drums of heaven - less meat, more bone- but it was good... 3.5/5 * Chicken Hakka Noodles- it was blunt in taste, we sent it back, they "did " something- still no good, and why so much oil ?? you don't want Biden to know about this (pun intended) - 2/5 * Dum Pukht Biryani- I am a biryani lover, and I asked, "Hey can I order biryani, is it good here? The server said- 'Sir it's very good..! ', so I asked for Dum Pukht spicy biryani - and all they did was- mix the rice with some chicken masala- crap it was- 1/5 * Cassata Ice Cream- good Food: a couple of items were good, and the rest of them did not go there Price: given the inflation and things getting pricer day by day- prices were reasonable Ambiance: it's my POV, but I was disappointed by the worn-out wooden floor, dark patches, and shoes that feel like it's stuck to something. Definitely, improvement is needed (and did I mention too much noise) Service: Good! Despite a full house, service was good and we did not have to wait for anything. Gratuity: why I am paying 18% gratuity on the party of 4? Isn't the limit is 5 or 6? And on top of that, 3% on card txn. Great. These guys are giving me reasons to not come to restaurants. This was my experience, I am not saying this is a bad establishment, it's just, that I experienced this. You might get lucky, so go ahead, and try it PS (Photos are taken at almost closing time)

Our family came in here (first timers)for an early dinner this past Sunday. Do not be misled by the location appearing in a strip mall near a Kohls. Once you step inside, you will feel transported into a classy, well appointed space with beautiful decor and plenty of dining space. The layout is quite simple and genius that allows for really easy accommodation for large parties but also some tucked aside smaller intimate dining tables. For those that still cannot get used to a lot of BYOB spots in NJ- this place has a bar space. On to the food...which the menu boasts as a bit of indian, chinese and thai. Paneer Tikka Shaslik- seasoned red and green paneer squares, cooked in a tandoor and with a great green chutney for dipping. This is a timeless go-to for our family at and restaurant that serves it- this version did not disappoint. Cauliflower Manchurian Dry- crispy tempura cauliflower tossed in an indo-chinese influenced sauce with onions, garlic and what may be soy sauce. Our 8 yr old nearly devoured this on his own! Chili Garlic Noodles- another indo-chinese influenced dish- the wife's favorite! Vegetable Rajbogh- mixed veggies cooked in a "Mumbai" sauce. 1) was not stretched with potatoes and 2) Mumbai- keep doing what you are doing! Def my fav of the night and the perfect ratio of veg to sauce. Only a few bites made it home as leftovers and I made short work of it the next day! Roti no butter - what better vessel to dip into the veg rajbogh Laccha Paratha- so flaky and fresh! If there was one gripe- none of our dishes came with rice- something we have become accustomed to with indian food. Just an oddity that would have been even more pronounced if we didnt order breads. Still this was enough to warrant a 4 star rating. However, we had a lovely experience that quickly overcame this star gap and made this a full 5 star experience. Sunday evening the restaurant had live singers- a lovely husband/wife duo that apparently have been singing here for 3 years. This couple was no hokey karaoke champs- they were quite amazing. At one point the wife came to our table to show me a pic of her friend and politely pointing out how my wife was a doppelgänger. We had a polite and sweet exchange and before leaving our table she asked if we had any requests. We asked for a classic and within a minute she and her husband performed a beautiful rendition. Will definitely be back here!

we did take out for gravy veg manchurian, chilli garlic noodle and chilli paneer dry on weekend. this is our always been to go menu when comes to indo-chinese from this place, but this time food was not up to taste. gravy manchurian - balls we're good while gravy was tasteless noodles- there was no chilli garlic at all. just tossed with some veggies - that's it chilli paneer- it was different than usual in taste 3 star as we love this place and would like to give one more chance

I ordered a few things from Spice Culture for pick up and it was my first time trying their food. I've heard great things about this restaurant so I wanted to see what the hype was about! Everyone who's told me about this restaurant has always mentioned one specific dish - the crispy lotus wheel. I picked up 2 variations of the crispy lotus wheel - chili and honey. I think this appetizer was awesome! Both flavors are so different but so yummy. The chili one wasn't too spicy in my opinion and the honey one was very sticky and sweet. I'd suggest sitting at the restaurant and buying this appetizer as it gets soggy pretty fast. Both of these are definitely a 4.5/5 in my opinion! I also got the Szechuan Hakka Noodles. I'd rate these a 2.75/5. I ordered them as medium spice but I felt like there was no spice added. It also tasted a little old in my opinion. I was pretty disappointed with the noodles. Lastly, I ordered Chili Paneer with gravy and Chili Tofu with gravy. The paneer was nice and firm and the gravy was the right amount of spice. The chili tofu was the same - I wish the tofu pieces were just a little smaller though. Overall, Spice Culture has a huge menu and the dishes I tried were very good. I'd definitely make the trip back just for the lotus root.

First time visiting this lovely place my daughter recommended it and I will say it is wow the food was delicious. Very nicely decorated and staff was friendly . We ordered a few casserole dishes and one of the noodle dishes . I brought my mom along with us and she really enjoyed . Very nice ambiance and food for groups of people . All the dishes we had such great flavor. Garlic naan was yummy as well. We ordered a goat curry and chicken curry dish both were equally delicious. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

The place has a nice vibe, service and ambiance but food is below average. They also do live music every wednesday and we got lucky because the live musicians were good. We tried indo-chinese food and it didn't meet our expectations. We ordered the following: 1. Chicken Corn Soup (Good) 2. Chicken Drumsticks (Avg.) 3. Chilli Chicken (Avg.) 4. Schezuan Chicken Hakka Noodles (Bad because it was too oily and tasteless) Overall, the three items we ordered were made with the same spices and sauces so lacked distinction in flavor. Will try the mughlai food next time at this place.

Sorry to say, the service is too slow. Plus the light music must be pleasant not loud. Unfortunately I'm not at the music event. About food, I must say 4+ for this restaurant? What's wrong NJ people. None of the roti has salt. Drums of chicken is reheated and zero salt. Malabar fish curry is Tangy. I wonder they added curd instead of coconut milk. Briyani is too much kewra water and spices are not cooked well. I would never comeback even if someone is giving free food.

We're still looking around for our go-to Indian restaurant in the area as our kids love saag/palak paneer and we used to go at least once a month where we moved from. But we finally made it! We came here on a Monday that also fell on a holiday so they had a steady amount of customers. We were the only non-Indian customers, which appears to be normal. They're located in a small strip along with 2 or 3 other businesses. Shared parking is behind the building so most people entered through the back door. It was about half full when we got there so I can see it filling up fast during crowded times. Walk through because no one is at the back but there is a small clothing rack to hang coats; the counter is at the front by the front door. We made ourselves known and were promptly seated. They serve vegetarian food and many are Swaminarayan-friendly (allium-free, which appears to be their default mode), certain can be made Jain as well! They do use alliums but overall, they seem to be able to make most of the dishes without alliums. We ordered the following, Swaminarayan-style and mild because one of my kids can do but mild food: DAHI PURI: I usually get pani puri but decided to try it out since it's been a while since I had this. It came out first as the appetizer, was a thing of beauty, and there are A LOT of flavors in there. The sweet-leaning yogurt, sev with its textural differences, the freshness of the cilantro, the spiced potatoes, the tart pomegranate seeds... My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it. PALAK PANEER: This was ordered for my kids. Green gravy with tender paneer. They liked it! The curry got a little too spicy but it didn't hit them until later. My kid with the food allergies ate all the paneer when the gravy grew too spicy for him. MALAI KOFTA: This is different from the malai kofta I've had before but not in a bad way. I definitely think they use cashew "cream" in this. It's lightly sweet in a way that reminds me of cashews. The kofta are soft and I'm pretty sure are paneer based. This is probably the most mild curry we ordered, both in terms of spice and spices. This was my pick because I usually can't order malai kofta at Indian restaurants so I was pleased I could hear. MATAR METHI MALAI: I love how Indian curries are so straightforward when it comes to names. I'm not sure what to expect with this but my husband didn't know what to get so I nudged him towards this. He wanted MATAR PANEER but it's not on the menu. This is essentially fenugreek pea curry in a milky gravy. It has very interesting spices and flavor. A little more bland than the others, yet not at the same time. Must be that fenugreek! For some odd reason, it reminded me of coconut chutney I've had before. We also got ROTI for one of my kids who prefers bread over rice. All curries come with white basmati. For drinks, we got MANGO LASSI, SPRITE, and CHAAS (buttermilk). The buttermilk was different! Much more spiced than I expected. I also swear at one point I tasted a raw onion bit but it only happened once so who knows if it was mistaken blended in or it was all in my head. I do remember it was STRONG though. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised at the sheer amount of choices we had. Our bill totaled to around $90 (curries are around $20, Dahi puri was $12) and we brought home some leftovers. They seem to be family run and are fairly nice and helpful. We would likely go back again to try more things, but the palak paneer isn't completely up our kids' alley to become their favorite. If you have food allergies, let them know. My youngest has multiple food allergies including to nuts and wheat. Most of their curries contains nuts EXCEPT for the palak paneer and their bhindi (okra) dish. Luckily for my kid. Despite how nuts are a common ingredient in the kitchen, my kid was completely fine during and after eating. Note: their menu says they charge gratuity for parties of 4 people or more. My husband says he didn't see it on the bill when it was time to pay. Not sure if that statement is now outdated or it only counts if there are 4+ ADULTS.

Sure I have eaten at many Indian restaurants but you have to go to one that only specializes in dosas. Shoutout to my Yelper, Johanna B., she said it is one of her most favorite things to eat. I did a search on Yelp and it lead me to Brundhavan, formally known as Indian House of Dosas. Looking at the menu, I have to admit that I was completely clueless. I had to look up quite a few of the descriptions for the different fillings. We opted to get the Masala with potatoes, onions, and carrots. The presentation had me so intrigued. Dosas are made of rice. Just eat with your hands and dip away. My favorite was the coconut one. It was so delicious. With every bite I kept saying, OMG, I LOVEEEE IT!!! YUM!!! We also ordered the Medu Vada, a savory South Indian fried doughnut made with black lentils served with chutney and sambhar. Crispy exterior and soft inside. Probably the healthiest doughnut I have ever eaten. Get it!! Please order their Masala or Irani Chai. I wanted 3 cups of it. Lol. Service was a 10/10. Super friendly and helpful. I'll start with the good: the benne dosai (which has gone viral across Bombay and now Delhi) is well done, with a nice thick, fluffy texture. I also enjoyed the filter coffee and badam milk, which I love hot but almost always find offered only cold. The Indo-Chinese items such as the paneer manchurian (dry) were also not bad. That being said, I was very disappointed with the thatte idli, which ironically was what I was most excited to order. They offer with a variety of different podi toppings, but the one we ordered had a strange aftertaste. I'm not sure if it was from the ghee or the podi, but we didn't finish the order. The chutneys and sambar are also really nothing special.
