I went in expecting a normal hair service and left with a shocking amount of my hair ripped/broken off. I'm not talking about a few strands of normal shedding -- there was a noticeable amount of hair that was physically pulled out/broken during the service. The way my hair was handled was unbelievably rough. There was excessive pulling, tugging, and yanking, and at multiple points it felt like my hair was being treated as if it were indestructible. A professional stylist should know that you cannot aggressively pull through someone's hair without causing serious damage. I was absolutely horrified when I realized how much hair I had lost. I paid this salon to take care of my hair, and instead I left having to deal with damage caused by the service itself. That is completely unacceptable. What makes this experience even more infuriating is that this wasn't some minor issue with the final hairstyle. The actual condition of my hair was negatively affected. Hair takes months and years to grow, and you don't get to simply undo damage like this after the appointment is over. I would expect a salon to take responsibility when something this serious happens. Instead, the entire experience left me feeling like my concerns were not being treated with the seriousness they deserved. If you value the health and length of your hair, I would seriously think twice before booking here. I regret trusting this salon with my hair and would never return. Absolutely unacceptable.

I went 3 times, and on each occasion I experienced terrible customer service. The first time, I showed up 5 minutes early and wasn't seen until 30 minutes into my appointment time. The second time, I showed up around 10 minutes late. I waited about 7 more minutes until Griselda came out and told me I was 17 minutes late (not true because no one came and helped me for a while) and they wouldn't be able to see me. The third time, I came late and called beforehand, with someone confirming that was ok. When I got there, Griselda scolded me for being late in front of other customers. Completely rude and unprofessional. When she did my hair, she was extremely rude and passive-aggressive, whacking me in the head with the brush and just getting up and walking away without saying anything when both my wash and styling were completed. Unfortunately, I did not realize they were located on the 3rd floor and no elevator in the building. I discovered the elevator issue when walking by on the way to another attraction. Many places we've travel have a fee for cancellations but when I called HKS they were very understanding. We can't provide a review on the teams ability to cut or style hair but I will review them for their ease of booking and their willingness to work with their clients even if that means not making a sale.

Tam is such a pleasant and kind coiffure. Chen does an amazing blow dry and is a very talented hairdresser. He does good haircuts too. I cannot recommend both of them enough after the pleasant experience I had, right down to the thoughtfully prepared cappuccino and biscotti for their clients. The one thing that places this salon in my favourites list is the fact that they use Kerastase products which are really so agreeable with my hair type and have been a product that I have used since my 20's at hairdressers around the world. The Kerstase shampoos and conditioners brought back such nice and happy memories ... The prices range from USD 165-200 dollars for a single process. About USD 155- 258 dollars for a cut and USD 67-150 dollars for a blow dry. The only thing I would change or ask more of at this salon would be music, music, MUSIC!
