I've only tried the Pho. It was one of the worst Pho I've tried in my life. The broth taste like store brand boxed vegetable broth. The selection of veggies is little to none, all they give is a table spoon of cilantro and onion slices. There was NO green onion, Thai basil, mint, cilantro jalepeno peppers lime wedges, or bean sprouts. I paid to for brown water, noodles, few slices of beef and a table spoon of cilantro and onion slices served in a plastic to go container. They might as well remove this from the menu. read more

Pretty impressed! Got these delivered through door dash. I would definitely recommend the spill the tea! Super fruity and refreshing! I wish I could've adjusted the sweetness though. I've been waiting for this new boba place to open near Braddock Road metro and they finally opened earlier this week! They're currently in a soft opening phase with a limited menu. We tried their passionfruit green tea with boba (less sweet) and it was delicious! On par with other passionfruit green teas that you would get at Kung Fu Tea or Gong Cha. The bobas were cooked perfectly - lightly sweetened and chewy. They're less sweet than Kung Fu's bobas which I think is a good thing. Next time we'll ask for less ice because once we finished the drink, the cup was still full of ice. They use paper straws which is awesome! The drink with boba was $5.50 before tax. Update - Went back again and tried the Thai Iced Tea and Black Milk Tea with boba, less sweet and less ice. Hooray for less ice and both drinks were a good sweetness level. The bobas today were a bit hard in the center :( however, it was nice that I could call in the order and pick it up! read more

In short they are lackluster and not worth it: - Bright eyed and bushy tailed: aka Vietnamese coffee with sea salt cream on top. The coffee taste great and not too sweet but sea salt cream is like a very light milk foam! Definitely not thick and creamy like the typical sea salt cream. And you can barely taste the sea salt or milk flavor, imagine tasting milk bubbles.. - Brown cow: less sugar is still quite sweet and boba is smaller in size fyi. The boba is very chewy, they need to be cooked a tad more. The milk tea it self taste fine but lacks the milkiness, it tastes a bit water down. They are more pricey than your typical boba place. A drink here after tax without any toppings are around $6-$7. Pros: cute decor, convenient location right by Braddock metro. read more

New bubble tea shop in town and will most likely be my favorite! I came during their soft opening and the staff were organized, helpful and friendly. We were able to get samples of Vietnamese iced coffee, Thai iced tea, and green tea. There were also generous platters of egg rolls, banh mi, and beef stew to munch on. Yum!!! I ordered their special, Spill the Tea - a blend of dragon fruit and oolong tea. It was so refreshing and a perfect balance of sweet and fruity. As an environmentally conscious person, I also love that they use paper straws. I also got to try out their yogurt parfait, topped with fresh fruit and grains. It made me feel so cleansed after finishing off the last bite. The walls are covered with book pages and succulents, creating a warm and cozy environment. I just need a good book next time and there won't be a reason to leave! read more

Rounding up from 4.5 stars. This place is adorable! It's conveniently located across from the Braddock Road metro station. It has a modern coffee shop vibe with not just bubble tea and Vietnamese iced coffee but a great selection of snacks. I had the chicken summer rolls and chicken banh mi. Both were tasty and fresh. I also had the taro milk tea. I would deduct half a star because the tables did not appear to be cleaned frequently between customers. But in all fairness, I only saw two people working, and they seemed fairly busy. read more

Went here and got the lavender milk tea with black boba and the beef stew! The tea was great--not watery and flavorless at all like a lot of other reviewers experienced. However, their tea is not super sweet like a lot of other boba tea places; perhaps some of the other reviewers are used to their tea being really sugary? Either way, the sweetness was perfect for me! Great spot for a quick boba break. I try something different every time I go, but I've enjoyed them all! My favorites so far are probably the Love, Rosie (rose green tea and milk with strawberry jelly) and the Cake by the Ocean (rose and butterfly milk tea - I got it with coconut jelly). This place has some good food in addition to the boba teas. I especially recommend the summer rolls and mango sticky rice. My only complaint is with the service, which is quite spotty. The people who take your order over the phone generally seem unenthusiastic and rarely remember to ask me for the type of sauce I want if there is an option. Recently, when I arrived to pick up my order, they ignored me while finishing a conversation. I don't get the sense they are eager to attract and retain customers. We're thrilled to have a new lunch spot in the neighborhood and would love to feel they're excited to welcome us, too. read more

Super delicious boba tea well located in Del Ray/Braddock. I walked over from Potomac Yards on a really nice day and didn't mind the distance. During my weekday visit there was no line- really fast service. However, when I visited on a weekend, it was very busy. I have heard they also deliver, so might take advantage and also order lunch one day. You can also call ahead but it didn't make a difference because you have to wait in line to pay. The workers are really friendly and take time to explain the flavors. I got a tea with rose and lychee and was really pleased. Not too sweet but sweet enough for me. I think I like my teas on the sweeter end. I got popping mango boba. So good. It's going to be hard to not stop by constantly. I was going all the way over to Clarendon for Kung Fu Tea, every now and then. This is super convenient, and just as good in my opinion. Fewer options, a little pricier, but I am willing to support a neighborhood spot. read more

I was really disappointed by the milk tea. I got peach milk tea with boba and a strawberry milk tea with boba for my boyfriend. It was super watery and tasted like there was no flavor. You can barely taste the peach, hell, you can't taste the milk either. My boyfriend literally said "this sucks. This taste like shit" after the first two sips. And to top it all off, they don't do refunds or even exchanges for a different flavor. So I paid for something hoping it'd be good and then it wasn't and they don't do anything to make it right. I even tipped when I was paying for it! I have to take the L this time because of their ridiculous policy but I'm super disappointed and mad I wasted my money. Edit: In the response from the owner, they said they'll do an exchange but I actually asked for an exchange after I started drinking it in the store (as noted in my original review) and was told that I'd have to buy another so if exchanges are allowed, you should let your staff know that and update your signage. read more

I absolutely love bubble tea and try to visit every one-off cafe in DC, MD, & VA. I had planned to have a little dose of caffeine and finish up my work for the day at Spill the Tea. Unfortunately, when I first entered the cafe, I noticed an odd smell but nothing too bad to withstand for an hour or so. However, when I approached the counter the staff were not friendly. I asked to use the restroom and was told it was out of service. It is my understanding that a cafe of that size is required to have a working restroom. Not having a restroom is both an OSHA violation, a building code violation and depending on the nature of the deficiency a health code violation... Considering, the cafe is located near a public transit hub and the fact that they had signs all over the place about not using the restroom unless a paying customer, it makes me wonder if she assumed I was not a customer and/or if her denial was RACE related. Sadly, the tea was watery, and the boba was soggy and mushy. This is a really convenient boba place right near the Braddock station. My favorite teas are the butterfly pea, passion fruit, thai tea and cake by the ocean. They are a pricey but all the flavors have been delicious. I haven't had a chance to enjoy sitting inside because of COVID. The store isn't set up for people to order and sit inside, so it's not the nicest looking. I hope it will be set up for that soon to add to the full experience. read more

I appreciated the staff taking my order, who was meticulous in making sure my specifications were noted. However, I'm afraid the two beverages I ordered (as well as four others that my friends ordered) were really, really terrible. I ordered the Brown Cow with lactose-free milk, no ice, 25% sugar. The beverage tasted like milk flavored water with a hint of plastic. There was no tea flavor at all, let alone brown sugar. The second beverage I ordered was the Train to Bangkok, also with lactose-free milk, no ice, 25% sugar. It had a hint of Thai tea flavor, but was also otherwise, far, far, far too watery. Neither was much consumed. I would encourage a staff to revisit their recipes and the ratios. You can usually tell if a drink is too watery just by looking at the consistency. All six of the beverages we ordered today suffered from the same problem. read more

This is such a cute little place and Alexandria city is long overdue for a good boba spot! I had the passion fruit (though they didn't have the passion fruit syrup so it was mango instead) with black crystal boba and it was delicious. The consistency of the boba was perfect and not too sweet. We also got the beef pho, beef stew, and summer rolls (chicken and shrimp). All was good! It wouldn't be my pick of spots to get pho (you don't get some of the regular garnishes like bean sprouts, basil and jalapeños) but the stew was hearty and the spring rolls fresh. We did peanut sauce this time but I'd like to try the creamy wasabi next time! We will definitely be back. read more

I really wanted to like this place so much more than I did! I got two bubble teas - Kermit (honeydew milk tea) and Year of the Dragon (dragonfruit, lychee, strawberry green tea). I also got shrimp summer rolls, which were okay (only options shrimp OR chicken.. no shrimp+pork option which I'm used to as the default for summer rolls). Pros: they were very nice, you can customize sweetness on your teas, there were plenty of flavor options, the flavors themselves were good Cons: teas were a little bland (tasted a little watered down - esp the milk tea), the boba itself was also bland, a bit pricey The prices are understandable considering the location and the fact that it's a small business. I think there's definitely potential - making sure the teas and the boba aren't bland would go a huge way in improving the experience! I'm noticing I'm not the first to leave that review. The location is really convenient for me, and I am all about supporting small businesses when possible, so I'll keep coming here for my bubble tea fix most of the time. Glad that I now have a neighborhood bubble tea spot! I got a passion fruit tea and a taro milk tea, both with less sugar. Very happy that they explicitly ask you rather than defaulting to the more-sugar option. They were both good, but my husband and I both preferred the taro one. Looking forward to trying other flavors! They also had a ton of different topping options, such as jellies and popping boba. Super happy to see a cardboard straw option, but you do have to stab the plastic top of the cup with a lot more force, as the edge of the straw is less sharp. Took a few tries and was super loud when it finally worked! I'd love for them to add a smoothie/blended ice option, as that is my favorite, as well as different size options as the current size is larger than my personal preference. read more

I am always down for some good boba tea and wanted to a new place. I ordered the Breakfast at Tiffany's with regular boba and to be honest, I didn't quite understand what butterfly milk tea would be like. It looked like a regular milk tea with something blue in it that made it look pretty to drink. But when I drank it, I was surprised by how great it was! It wasn't overly sweet and it was a good balance of tea and milk. They put a lot of boba in it which made me happy. I also tried a sip of the Year of the Dragon one and I really liked the flavors in that one too. I'm usually not a fan of strong green tea flavors but this one was just right. I'm really excited to have this place near me and try out all their other drinks (and food too!). read more
