Unfortunately , they no longer have the Causa. So with this disappointment, they still get a 5 star review for me because the food we did order was so good! We ordered a quarter chicken with yuca and vegetables, a ceviche clásico, and a papa rellena. The owner gave us yucita balls to try because it was our first time. Everything was delicious !! The ceviche was very good, the papa rellena was made with chicken instead of ground beef but it was very flavorful and perfectly fried. The owners were super nice ! Spin Pollo wins based on the amazing quality not only of the chicken, but all of their sides items as well. The Peruvian Chicken is always hot, fresh, and most full of tons of flavor and crispy skin. Their side items are amazing, though I'm partial to the fried rice and the plaintains. They also have some unique items on the menu - do yourself a favour and make sure you order the Yuquita Balls. Mashed yuca wrapped around a piece of cheese and deep fried - they are as good as you can imagine. Spin Pollo is the best place in the area. Do yourself a favor and stop in! read more

This place has me hooked! I've been there at least 3 times and each time the food has been delicious! My absolute favorite is the lomo saltado. I have been searching for a "good lomo place" for a while (my usual place has lost it's touch). I took my dad there for lunch today (he can be a tough critic). I finally tried the yuca balls, chicken, and sauces (favorite is the orange one)....delicious! Dad gave it the "yeah, it's okay" which for normal people translates to "this is delicious". I also finally shared my left over lomo with the boyfriend (another tough critic). His response, "yeah that's good...(pause)... that's REALLY good!" Score!!!! Long story this place is delicious! 4 stars on the chicken! 1 star off for portion of sides, drink and sauces. Located on Rt 50, Arlington Blvd headed towards Fairfax. Next to Baskin Robbins and JV restaurant. Also across Bill Page Honda service and adjacent from IHOP. As a neighborhood local, this establishment is so convenient for those who live nearby. Not to mention there are other Peruvian chicken establishments literally around the corners and down the street. Which I have tried out too. What sets this one apart from them is the chicken and the hipster dining area. The chicken is well seasoned and cooked with no pink. (At least from the 2 orders I had). The sides were portioned smaller from what I'm used to. The fried plantains is sweet and soft. Not chewy at all, thank you jeebus. The fries were okay. Best to have it as soon as you get served. Their specialty drinks were not even poured to the top. It was too sweet for me. The sauces are not my favorite. There wasn't an explanation on the different sauce either. It was very liquidy. I enjoyed more of the smooth creamy sauces. Wish they gave more of the white ones especially if I get a lot of food. It's so minimal. Service was slow the times I've been there. There wasn't much of a greet. For instance, no hello, welcome, do you have questions, and so on. The menu was difficult to view. Located in the front versus entry way. Gets in the way of any traffic flow. Pricing is cheaper than the other local Peruvian chicken places. I would say about $5 less. So I don't mind coming here more often. This is ONLY for the chicken. Long story short, the chicken is top notch. We'll prepared, slightly smokey, great spice blend, tender and juicy. I've eaten a lot of Peruvian chicken, and this is up there among some of the better I've had. The sauces were great too, best green sauce by far. My sister and I were in the area and were really hungry, so we decided to give this place a try since they have great reviews! We ordered a 1/2 white chicken with two sides and the yucita balls. The yucita balls were so-so. Not much flavor in them, but something good to try out for the first time. However, our meal was subpar. The plátanos and chicken tasted as if they were made a couple of days ago and just reheated to serve. If I had to pay an extra dollar for the plátanos (which I usually don't mind at all), I would hope they were to be made the same day. The fried yuca was good, no complaints. The "special" sauce, which was supposed to be mildly spicy was literally mustard and mayonnaise. They did have great service though! Im Peruvian and im always looking for a Great Peruvian chicken/ peruvian food restaurant. By luck i found this hidden gem through a local mom group recommendation. The food- So the chicken is by far the best I've had in a long time and their yuca fries were soo good (not dry/chalky) My husband ordered the lomo saltado and he cleaned his plate. Estimated delivery time was 25-35 minutes. 45 minutes in the Uber Eats driver texts me that they are still waiting for the order. 1 hour 15 min in I get a "Sorry, your order has been cancelled" message. My friend found his spot and he lives within walking distance from it. He told me he tried the menu and literally could not find anything wrong on it. He told me about some of the items, that I will review later, so I finally decided that I would try this place out because many Peruvian chicken places are amazing! It's hard to really have bad chicken and I have had really bad chicken before! For those of you driving, parking isn't too bad. While you may not be able to park in the front of the store if it's busy, which it normally is, you can always go to the back where the thrift store is and walk around. No biggie even for the laziest of fellows! You walk in and it's very modern seating. My favorite part is the chalkboard wall that has something new every single time I've been there. Pretty standard displays of bottle drinks, fountain drinks, desserts and so forth. The owner is a really nice guy and a huge Breaking Bad fan. I think he also watched Game of Thrones too but either way, he's a pretty hip guy. His wife is really nice too and since I've become a regular, she knows the orders that I typically go for (which I promise I'll review!). He shared with me that the chicken is brined 24 hours and then cooked so you know it's going to be juicy. Sooooo, this is literally the best white meat I have ever had! I literally do not even get dark meat because somehow...that's not as moist as the white meat! It breaks my mind to even consider that so I normally get 1/2 chicken white with my usual sides! Their onion salad is WONDERFUL as it's perfect acidity to cut through the fat and really refreshes your palate. Then...those yuquita balls....basically fried yuca balls stuffed with three cheeses...they are literally amazing! Nice pillowy yuca with the gooey cheese and their sauce is just amazing! I've also had their carne asada which for the price and the portion, it's wonderful! That platter comes with onion salad, rice, perfect sunny side up egg, fried plantains, 12 oz carne asada on a bed of french fries. God, I want some now! I know there's a lot of Peruvian chicken places but I honestly don't want to go anywhere else now. This place is literally the best chicken I've ever had! I made a huge order for my mom's birthday and even they said "wow, this white meat is good!" to the point where we were hogging that instead of the dark meat! So I had one of those exhausting days where I decided dinner HAD to be a favorite food. The struggle is real somedays. So Peruvian Chicken. So while I was at ground zero for Peruvian Chicken spots in Virginia Sq area, read Yelp reviews and decided the reviews were awesome enough to drive to other side of Arlington for take out (they do deliver not sure how far). And the hike was so worth it. I ordered and half chicken so I could have some for tomorrow, black beans and rice. This chicken was Peruvian perfection. Had to stop myself from eating entire half chicken and hitting the floor from a food coma. It was incredibly juicy, even the white meat, which I normal really dislike because so often is dry and yukky (Dominicans will fight you over dark meat). I am exactly half Dominican. I stared hard at the sauces, Dominicans do NOT cook hot spicy (misconception out there that all Latin food is hot, nope). Normally I throw all sauces out. But again the reviews made me feel: gurl just try...So first the green, if you love hot spice, bam you got it here. But me no way no how. YIKES. AY DIOS MIO! The pinkish and creamy ones were really really good and for first time ever, used both. The black beans (now am in Dominican territory) were amazing enough to not need rice. Next time am ordering half chicken with 2 sides of black beans to make 2 dinners. Rice was fine but the beans were so good, I did not even want rice. That is Dominican heresy, no rice? Yep I skipped eating rice with my beans! Bean awesomeness. They offer a chicken fried rice, yeah but I wanted Latin food. I stared back hard when offered the option but hey maybe it is great. So I will haul myself back there past all the other Pollo shops for more. All that awesomeness for 2 nights of Pollo (two servings of black beans) just for 9 bucks-ish. I had such high hopes for this place, as it currently has 4.5 stars. I was wrong. The chicken was chewy/rubbery. I'm not sure how you accomplish this, it wasn't necessarily dry, but rubbery. I had the 1/4 white chicken with rice and beans and mashed potatoes with gravy and yellow sauce. Surprisingly, everything was bland, including the yellow sauce. Like super bland, dumping salt on everything. The mashed potatoes were whipped to the point of almost being a gravy, I'm not sure if they're made from potatoes or instant potato flakes, either way, bland. The gravy was just brown juice. I know rice and black beans don't have a ton of flavor, but these had none. Like you just dumped a can of beans in a pot. I will continue my quest for a decent chicken place in the Merrifield area, but I have yet to find anything that comes close to Sardi's chicken. read more

I've tried a lot of Peruvian chicken places around the DMV area, and sadly, this is towards the bottom of my list. The chicken itself was seasoned, but too salty. Some parts were tough and dry, nothing like the chicken at Super Pollo or elsewhere. The yucca was also really salty, as in my fingers had salt on them afterward. The sauces were really watery too, but that's in comparison with other restaurants'. I would not make the trip to Spin Pollo again, unless I'm in the area and with a craving for chicken. :( I hope my experience was a fluke though, as there are so many great reviews here. read more

Wowww, I never had ceviche but heard so many good things about the ceviche at this restaurant and all I have to say is YOU NEED TO TRY IT! I got the spicy ceviche but their also is a medium one. It was perfect, my bowl was empty and I don't regret spending $11 for the ceviche. Deff recommend anyone try it out!!! Their yuca was also very good, not too dry or too soft, just crispy and perfect! The look from the outside is definitely deceiving and once you walk inside the aroma will delight your senses and have your tummy yelling for more before you ever take a bite. Great food!! Hard working staff, great sauces and the yuca is amazing.

Grabbed their Spin Pollo Sub with corn as my side. Definitely an affordable and satisfying meal. Best way I can describe it is as a shredded chicken salad sandwich. I loved that they had Netflix on and I got to watch Planet Earth...plus there's a Touch Tunes! haha I want to come back and try their Lomo Sub and rotisserie chicken combo. I feel like I played it safe with the Pollo Sub. Will come back and hopefully increase my rating. We shall see! read more

Disappointing. Sandwich had very little chicken and a lot of cheese that was too strong for the rest of the ingredients (Swiss maybe?) and that's all you can taste. Fries were inedible -- cold and tasted like they had been fried days ago in even older oil. The pink sauce is just mayo and ketchup and the green sauce tasted like someone got the recipe wrong -- nothing like any green sauce in any other Peruvian chicken place (and not in a good way).
