    Crown Spires Burger.

The food and service at this location is excellent! I've gone here twice so far and have not been disappointed one bit. The experience is pleasant from start to finish. Both times my girlfriend and I have come here we've been seated immediately and helped right away. What I've tried so far: - Crown Spires Burger: A plump burger with bacon and onion rings. Delicious and pairs well with a side of their lovely fries. Golden and crispy, and my forever choice of side! - San Franciscan Sandwich: Perfectly toasted sourdough bread is home to a thick beef patty, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and pickles. Tastes amazing, no doubt. I paired this with their fries as well. Dip them in ranch! Service is always excellent. A server checked on us (and everyone else) frequently. No cup was ever left half full. Everyone is friendly. I highly recommend this place!

It's nice to see restaurants like this still serving breakfast lunch and dinner all day long from 6 AM to 10 PM. Food is delicious and well priced great atmosphere for the family. Can't wait to come back.

Spires Restaurant is a breakfast institution for over 20 years! The French toast was toast-worthy (thick bread, yay!), and the sausage was juicy and tasty. However, the country plate's gravy needed a pep talk (more pepper, please!) and the helpers could use some finesse (no grabby hands for hot sauce or sugar, please!). Despite some bumps, the server was top-notch. Now, rumor has it Spires is closing soon to make way for... Crap Shack? Guess that's one way to shake things up!

This is an old school diner with plenty of options , I had the Denver omelette with home potatoes and toast, it was very good, very tasty and fresh. The service was super fast and attentive , the ambiance is that of an old diner , clean inside with a whole of seating , I would definitely come here again for lunch , dinner or breakfast .

Food is very tasty! Price is reasonable. I have been here at least a couple times after recently trying it. My only complaint although as minor as it may be is the server was speaking to me. I know he could speak Spanish because I overheard him talking to his coworkers in spanish. I would order in spanish and he would refuse to respond back in spanish and continued in English. Not sure if he just wanted the practice but at least accommodate your customers.

I'm so happy there are still a couple of Spires locations around! I used to dine at one with my grandparents when I was a kid, and that location is no longer. My husband and I stopped in during breakfast hours and were happy we could order from the entire menu. We did not feel like breakfast food. I had the tuna melt with cole slaw. My husband had the turkey melt with fruit. We split both plates. Both were fantastic. I'd definitely order that again if I'm ever in the area. Service was great, and the ambiance was pure nostalgia.

Decent food spot. Service was good. Food was cool. Portions are okay. Pricing is decent. Decor is retro like a 1980s restaurant. Felt like I walked into a time capsule. Semi nostalgic and semi needs some updating. Overall, good quick restaurant.

I haven't been to Spires for any meal for quite a while. This one in Tustin is nice and cozy and was warm on a cold February morning. A buddy and I had breakfast and arrived early enough before the crowds got in. The waitress and staff were excellent - making sure our meal was okay and refilling coffee and iced tea. (Their iced tea is delicious.) My friend got the strawberry waffle (and a side of hash browns) and really enjoyed it. I got the standard eggs, hash browns, and bacon (with sourdough toast), but sadly my meal had gone cool while probably waiting the waffle to be ready. I didn't want to make a fuss (it wasn't cold - but not hot like I like it) so shame on me for not returning it. But with that said, the hash browns were perfectly cooked (I ordered well and they were) and the eggs were good and tasty. The bacon was cool and very fatty (and very salty - more than normal) and the toast was cold where you couldn't melt the refrigerated butter enough to dunk it in the eggs. I gave Spires a 4 instead of a 3 because I should have spoken up and didn't. And the service and ambiance were excellent!

Ask the Community - Spires Restaurant

Is it true this place is closing? i heard it is but i sure hope not

I believe Spires in Tustin has been permanently closed as of 8/5/25. Its sad to see another iconic place of business shut down. Its been a family tradition to take the grandparents and kids there for the last 15 years.

We were lucky and found a parking space on Bush St. We both ordered the Classic Hammer Burger ($10) and a regular order of shoestring fries. I was surprised at how busy they were. The burgers come out fresh and hot. They are smashed thin and have a crispy edge. The slice of cheese is perfectly melted. There are grilled onions at the bottom of the burger and the top is dressed with thick cut pickles and a decorative drizzle of Hammer Sauce. One of the things I like most about this burger is the overall texture and the proportions of beef to the steamed potato bun. It's soft and melty and delicious. The fries are great too (thin and crispy) and they have a nice selection of house sauces. Their signature Hammer Sauce, White BBQ sauce, Garlic Sauce, Chipotle Mayo, Jalapeño Ranch and Ranch. I went around the world and tried every one. Customizing your sauce by mixing a few together is not a bad idea and likely a veteran move. I have had their sweet potato fries before and they are above average. I have also had their chili cheese fries and a cup of chili...not bad. Their Flatty Melt ($11) was the first burger I tried when going the first time. Unique and tasty. I've also had Spicy Smash ($11) that has a pile of grilled jalapeño's on top. It's hot so be prepared. They have a nice selection of beers but I haven't gone down that road yet. Lunch was so good, I bought my son-in-law a $75 gift certificate. The downtown area has really be revitalized and now it's fun to walk around.

The staff were friendly and attentive. We arrived right before the dinner rush. The place had TVs on and music playing. It seemed like a fun place to eat and hang out. One of the staff mentioned how they were packed last weekend with all the FIFA games. We ordered take out - a classic Hammer Burger, a half order of chili cheese fries, and a small order of onion rings. Sauce station was near the soda, you could get whichever ones you liked. Despite our 15 minute drive home, the food was still warm and really delicious. The burger had good flavor with and without their house sauce. The chili cheese fries were skinny fries with a cheese sauce and bean-less chili. The chili was filling and had a little kick to it. The batter-fried onion rings were (still) crispy and yummy with both ranch and the house sauce. We will definitely be back to fill our smashburger and chili cheese fries cravings! PS- The bathrooms were clean.

And let me tell you I am STUFFED that was a big burger. The meat tastes like beef, not every seasoned, they let the bacon give it some salt which is perfect, the American meaty cheese sings in the background the veg was nice and fresh. I will say the pickles could have been bigger and crunchier. But that's a perfect burger! The fries were plentiful but under seasoned, very hot and fresh but for sure could use more seasoning. From the two, the gully smash was our favorite--it's like a classic smash burger but the addition of pastrami enhanced it! The burgers were both enjoyable, however, they were on the oily side and felt a bit heavy. I'd say prices here were also pretty steep for what you're getting. I'd say that this is a great option for halal burgers, but I think if you're not restricted to eating halal meat, there are burger options that I like more.
