I had passed by the street many times but never noticed Spitale's Deli so once i did notice we decided to try takeout. We ordered the eggplant parmesan poboy - which was very good; the grilled shrimp poboy, also goo; the cheese fries, which were decent; and the onion rings, which were average overall, decent size poboys with good flavor

Came here with a local flavor coupon. Was not disappointed. The place looks small and dated from the outside but it is actually pretty decent inside. Its clean and spacious. It wasnt crowded during lunch...maybe 3 to 4 other customers. There is a bar centered in the space. They have seating at the bar and tables off to the right and past the bar. Plenty of seating is available. The lady behind the bar is very nice and knowledgeable. She handed us laminated menus and gave us a detailed run down of specials and info on the menu. We went with 9"roast beef poboy and cheeseburger combo with 2 drinks. It was good guys. The roast beef was just juicy enough to drip on the tray but not make a sloppy mess. They make their own roast beef, btw. The gravy probably could have used a bit more salt but still not bad at all. The cheeseburger was a nice size. About the size of a whopper. Definitely tasted better than a whopper and juicy too. We rate it a 6.5 on a scale of 10. The fries were thick crinkle cut and fried well. The sweet tea wasn't that sweet and I didn't see any splenda. Luckily, I carry the sweetener on me. Free refills too! Bathroom was really clean and kept. Thats always a plus. Tvs all around and they played music. Just a good atmosphere. Seats were a bit hard on the butt (and I have a lot of cushion). Overall, this place is worth the visit. Food is good. Service is knowledgeable and sweet. If you use splenda, you might want to bring your own. USE LOCAL FLAVOR COUPON

I think that I found my new favorite lunch spot in Metairie! I love that they have lunch specials everyday. We went on a Monday and had the red beans with rice lunch special. It was a nice large serving. The smoked sausage was delicious! It made the dish. It came with two pieces of garlic bread and a salad. The bread was tasty and the salad was good. I opted for their house dressing. It was very yummy. I ordered an ice tea. They gave me a nifty plastic to go cup with their logo. I totally dug that. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The decor was fun. Very New Orleans! The place was clean. The TVs were much appreciated. I will be back!

Sandwiches and salad dressing were great. Very garlicky. They catered another homebuilders association meeting.

First time at Spital's. Nice clean inside, has a great vibe to it. Staff very friendly. Ordered the a Philly steak and cheese it was very good. I enjoyed it on the French bread also ,tasted the roast beef it had a great flavor beef was tender and the dressing mayo, lettuce with gravy was perfect. I looked over the daily specials and peeked at peoples plates. Everything looks home made with a nice size portion. I must say the prices are very reasonable. Will go back to try the meatballs.... also Baked chicken sounded delicious

Very over priced. $20 for a 6inch meatball sandwich with 2 meatballs on it. $1.25 for a 2oz cup of salad dressing.

There's a decent sized parking lot here and the interior and outside grounds are very well kept. We chose to sit outside, plenty of seating with shade for most. Starting off with shrimp toast and heirloom tomatoes was a good start to our lunch experience. I ordered the chicken sandwich and my wife got the fresh pasta. We were blown away by both dishes. Juicy chicken with peppers on ciabatta bread and fries to write home about. The pasta was in pesto that seemed freshly made and the grilled chicken thighs we added was fantastic. Thoroughly impressed with the food here but only second to our waiter as far as the total experience. It was a bearded young gentleman, I didn't catch his name but he took care of us and was very attentive. Completely impressed with this establishment and I'd recommend any and all to check this place out.

How do you categorize a restaurant that offers a full menu of Mexican food, a full menu of Italian food, a full menu of local fare and American classics, AND why not throw a little Asian food in as well. Now, do all of it VERY WELL, and you have quite the conundrum when you sit down to eat. "What am I in the mood for?" Luckily, you can mix and match to your heart's desire. Garbage nachos and Thai ribs? Sure! Chicken alfredo with a couple of tamales? No prob. A good steak with a Cuban quesadilla? Why not? The possibilities are endless. Now, mix in some killer drinks, and we're talking about somewhere you'll want to bring all your friends who can't decide what they want. It's all there for them, and if they can't find something at Blue Tomato, you might want to reconsider your friends. The service staff at BT is wonderful and homey. I always feel like a local when I eat there. It's comfortable and quaint whether you're eating seared tuna with a margarita or a batch of wings with a Mic Ultra. Lunch is actually my favorite time to visit. Quick service and reasonable prices make this a lunch destination. You might need to ensure you have a refrigerator at work though...the serving portions are generous. So, what are you waiting for? Is it lunchtime yet?

From the moment we sat down, the staff set the tone--professional, genuinely friendly, and impressively efficient. We began with a trio of starters that showcased both richness and restraint. The foie gras torchon was silky and indulgent, perfectly complemented by fruit confiture and warm, toasted Bellegarde Bakery bread--a classic pairing done right. Marinated crab claws, dressed in a lively chili vinaigrette, delivered a bright, briny punch, while the pickled pineapple and jalapeño chips added just the right balance of sweetness and heat. A cucumber salad rounded out the starters, crisp and refreshing, acting as a welcome palate reset before the mains. For entrées, comfort and finesse shared the plate. The confit chicken thighs were meltingly tender, paired with ham-braised greens swimming in a tangy apple cider vinegar broth. A lovely Dijon cream tied everything together, adding richness without overwhelming the dish. Equally memorable was the half smoked duck, beautifully executed and deeply flavorful, served over a smooth pumpkin-sweet potato purée. The cherry bourbon glaze brought a subtle sweetness, while the pepitas added texture and a nutty finish. Dessert was the perfect exclamation point on an already wonderful meal: a slice of hot chocolate cheesecake, decadent and deeply chocolaty, crowned with toasted marshmallow fluff that leaned just enough into nostalgia without crossing into excess. Toups Meatery continues to deliver thoughtful, soulful cooking with polish and heart--comfort food elevated, served by a team that clearly knows what they're doing. A thoroughly satisfying experience from start to finish.

I'd never even heard of the place, and after experiencing it, I honestly don't know how that's possible. We walked in to a packed house and got lucky, snagging two seats at the bar. We started with cocktails: the Hole Molé (Milagro Reposado, Ancho Reyes Verde, red pepper, lime, cocoa bitters) and the Charlotte (jalapeño infused vodka, Combier d'Orange, lemon, lime, strawberry). I loved my Hole Molé, but the Charlotte had a nice kick to it, like a spicy, refreshing fruit punch. Yum. We split a bowl of turtle soup. It was good, but not great; solid, though missing something we couldn't quite put our finger on. The sandwiches, on the other hand, were pure perfection.
