I always find something to buy when I go to spitfire. They have been there for years, and even though they never seem to have customers in sight, I'm glad they're still in business. The jewelry is my favorite. They have alot of kitschy horror themes usually, from zombies to classic bride of Frankenstein. Alot of the items are also handmade locally. They have other random stuff here from manic panic dye, to bloody shower curtains, fancy purses, to hot rod paintings. Always one of my favorite places to buy gifts. I go here to get my friend Matt his psychobilly boy shampoo and american greaser 40 weight and I think so does all of Whittier too b/c they are stocked up on that stuff like spam is in a bomb shelter. If you are into vintage rock and roll style this place is great. I also do my christamas shopping here for the lil sis and lil bro. Side note my brother's hot ex girlfriend is one of the models for this store and is featured on the hangtags on alot of the merchandise. Love this place. They have awesome artwork here, I purchased a painting about 2 years ago and I always get compliments on it. Even though my grandma thinks it's the devil, lol. Anywho their furniture is really awesome as well, a little overpriced, but I guess that's the price you pay for the artwork they do on it. I purchased a vanity table there also and I love it. One of my favorite shops, not only do they always have a great selection of clothes and accessories but I love love love the art. They have a nice selection of art, furniture and handmade accessories. Great place to buy a unique gift for those you love that are rock n rollas or that have a darker side. Long time fan - I don't know why I haven't reviewed sooner! I got THE BEST custom pinstripe dining room table and chair set from here. So cool and reasonably priced. Hand painted and stained beautifully and custom leopard cushioned chairs. Awesome. I have a pinstriped toilet seat, jewelry, purse, t-shirts, skull salt & pepper shaker, sacred metal heart with wings, hand made Frankenstein pillow and the list goes on! I'm going to make room in my house for the coffin bookshelf, rock n roll side table, bat coffee table and a vanity! Too many cool things - it goes on and on. This store is pretty awesome! It used to be bigger, but they ended up boarding up half the store and rented it out to another business. Anyways!... This place has some of the most unique stuff I've seen. They have awesome tee's and home goods. Their furniture is really interesting as well. A little pricey but you won't find it anywhere else! My only complaint is the pictures they sell in the black frames are really cheap. I tried hanging it on the wall and the hook on the back wasn't centered which caused the picture to hang crooked. Then I propped it up on the stand and after a week the stand bowed and ended up breaking. No biggie. I bought a dollar store frame and the picture was good as new! Wish their picture frame quality was better but nonetheless I'll still purchase from here. read more

I love this store! They have the cutest home decor and a varies selection of appeal for men and women. I mainly come in search for home decor, they have furniture, posters, tin signs and even toilet seats withy the vintage look, very rockbillyish. I dig it. The staff are friendly and helpful. I wish I could walk away with everything in here. Side notes: this store use to be twice as big and have so much stuff, I know what happened thy they has to downsize. I really like this store, its hard to find custom horror inspired furniture and decor for year round. The staff is friendly and they do custom orders on furniture, they even said they could do custom pinstriping on my husbands beach cruiser! Over all awesome store but it is a little.pricy. I was only looking for their hours (which to my sweet surprise they extended) and came across a review (by Ginger M.) complaining about another customer's treatment by the owner that she had perceived as rude. I feel I need to interject here.....I mean really, really, REALLY interject. How many times has she even been in this wonderful store? I have never had anything but stellar service from ANY of the employees and have been helped by the owner couple on several occasions. I have only had good experiences here. The owner she so casually is talking trash on totally helped me out when I needed specific mary jane flats that they carry to be in a wedding and she offered to give us a discount because of that. When the other girls had already gotten theirs she STILL honored me with the discount even though it wasn't a group. So here's my feeling, this complainer was just butting into a situation she knew nothing about. I'm sure if she felt she needed to kick the customer out she probably had a very good reason. And no, it's not a place for little kids--if you haven't properly raised them not to touch! I'm assuming, being on the outside, that they had probably asked them to control their kid before it ever got to the kick out.......or shoplifting? I don't know but I love this store and stink eye back at you if you think you can walk in on a scene you know nothing about and assume what's been going down. read more

this is a humble little store in uptown whittier that has the cutest stuff. the furniture is unique & ideal for any rab couple. i have made a few purchases here and there & even though it is so close to work, i don't visit too often. but, each time i do the staff is very friendly & not that "cooler than you" type. i especially like the work of ms. lucky-hellcat. they also sell cd's from local rab bands which i think is really cool. gotta love the rockabilly lifestyle! support thy brotha's! read more
