I'll say that the last couple times we've gone we noticed a dip in quality of the food. Last night four of us ordered over from the brewery (an awesome service). The order came quick, but was incorrect, and the level of salt in/on the food was wild. Like, at first I thought, it's okay, but by about halfway through I couldn't finish it--just too much. Despite this being a Tacos & Tequila joint, I don't consider it authentic Mexican food and thats no reason to knock it whatsoever. They're gourmet tacos that are super filling and full of flavor--i love the smash burger taco, mex-tex salad (with pollo asado or carne), al pastor-carne & pollo asado tacos as well as the Quesabirria. Ive ordered their breakfast burrito via Uber Eats and living all the way in Meridian its nice that its only a $.99 delivery fee (altho the burrito is a couple bucks more on the app). I wouldn't compare it to a taco foodtruck or a similar hole in the wall authentic Mexican food joint. Thats an apples to oranges comparison. I love their mixed Mezcal drink (cant think of the name off hand but it literally comes smoking). A couple suggestions i have (not to be confused with a complaint) is i wish their Margarita soaked grapes came more frozen & that they offered nachos as a regular menu item, especially with their tajin seasoned chips. I love the vibe and the mix of reggae & country music playlist they have playing. If you want cheap $3 street tacos or taquitos, go find a food truck or go to that denny's style "ca mexican food" joint in Boise. If you want filling gourmet tacos & burritos with great mix drinks as a date night, night out with friends or to watch the ballgame, this is the spot. Great service and friendly staff, we ordered the chips and guacamole and holy mole, they don't skimp. Their guacamole & salsa were fantastic. We ordered 3 tacos, smash burger (wife said it was sooo good) pork belly and the shrimp. Both were really good tacos but the shrimp taco brought the heat! My lips were on fire for a solid 10 minutes after finishing it. Thank god for the cool glass of H2O. Cool spot, nice outside seating and tasty tacos and cocktails. We'll definitely return. read more

New spot in downtown, the restaurant is small and for the most part clean. We went in on a Thursday night and our service was average. We had to ask a few times for refills of water. The margaritas are super delicious but the food is lacking for the cost. We had one carne burrito but it had more onion than meat. It literally was shameful the amount of meat to onion ratio. The chips and salsa are pretty greasy. I'm very sad to say, I am not a fan favorite. The last time was Memorial Day. I was given the incorrect order, finally received mine cold, waaaaaay too spicy and the amount of Onions on my asada taco was overbearing. So saddened by the turn over of cooks is what I can only imagine. There are no more flavor layers as before it's now just Okay. The ceviche was not the original real ceviche this looked and tasted like some orangey Salad dressing was added instead of the plain lime. I love their chips, (dusted with Tajine before baking) salsa and quac! I've tried several tacos they are way above average ! $8...only complaint was my sons burrito. He said if he had a restaurant and a cook prepared a burrito like that he'd be fired! It was stuffed with too much potato and the ingredients were separated . It was dry in spots and meatless in others. He suggested they put the ingredients in something a mix them all together so you get a good bite every time. I was very impressed with the new Spitfire Tacos and Tequila in Eagle! I think it is a great addition to the downtown Eagle area. I had heard great things about their breakfast burritos so I figured I would grab one on my way to work. On the drive I wondered if they had order ahead, and sure enough they did! The whole process of ordering online was very easy. I placed the order, it gave me a wait time, and upon arrival there is a drive through pick up window. The whole experience was pleasant. I got the bacon bird, which was delicious! The mix of the brown sugar bacon with the other savory ingredients was to die for. The burrito was huge and was enough for breakfast for me for two days! ($9) Tacos: Quesabirria taco = needed more cheese, Carne Asada taco = onion and cilantro too heavy coulda used more meat, Al Pastor taco = good, Korean BBQ Pork Belly taco = coulda used more meat ... they were all delicious across the board and I would value them at $4 each, not the $6 they are charging. Reef N' Beef burrito: good and tasty ($15) Churro Cheesecake: it is served in a mason jar, avoid ($6) Summary: I found the greatest value at the bar, my Old Fashioned was about $10 with Makers Mark. We are 1.5 Mexican people here, grew up on authentic Mexican and cook it at home. We understand this restaurant is Mexican fusion and appreciate that they are here. First: dogs welcome on the patio! I visited Spitfire for the first time and was absolutely blown away by the food! My dad & I shared chips and salsa, which we both agreed was the perfect salsa: lots of peppers, thick and lots of flavor. My two tacos were so layered with flavor! Dad tried a burrito and was amazed by how tasty it was. We were both also blown away by the great service Owen K gave us. My friend and I wanted to try spitfire last night and we were so happy that we did. Our drinks were tasty and had great flavor. We also got chips, salsa and guac for $5 and it was also tasty with great flavor. I got the Al pastor taco and it was filling with a lot of meat and complimentary flavors as well. My friend got the carne asada burrito it was so huge that she shared some of it with me because she couldn't finish all of it. The host greeted us promptly and sat us at our table and our server, Kyle, took wonderful care of us and made sure we were happy and had everything we needed. Came in for happy hour this week and had the best experience. We both got the street tacos (my wife tried beef and pork and I had pork and chicken). Loved all three - pork being my fave. Overall, four out of five stars on a very busy day, one of its first days open, from my understanding. We had to wait a little, but we were seated at the bar fairly quickly (two of us). It was cold when we went, so we sat inside, but it looks like when it warms up there will be more extensive seating outside and on top of the restaurant. There are also a couple TVs, but they aren't main features. The music wasn't super loud, which was nice, because otherwise it would have been way too loud with all the people and an active bar. There's plenty of booth seating for larger groups, too. The staff was very nice and helpful. We had to wait a little for the check at the end, but that's ok. The bartenders were also clearly very good at their jobs. We ordered a burriaquesa taco and an Al Pastor taco. The former, the burriaquesa, was the lesser of the two but still very good. It had too many onions and the corn tortilla struggled to hold up- if there were fewer onions and a double corn tortilla, it would've been perfect. Still very good, just keep that in mind. The Al Pastor taco was excellent. The meat was perfectly tender and the flavors came together extremely well- definitely the best taco I've had in Boise/Eagle. Obviously, we didn't get a ton of stuff, but what we did get was very good. The tacos were very good, the prices weren't that bad at all (two very large tacos for six bucks each), and the service was good as well. Only dinging one star for a long wait on the check and the quesabirria taco having a couple poorer qualities. But, definitely will be back! read more

This is a higher end place that is popular. Of course it is going to be loud with all the people. And I feel the prices are fair for the type of food you are getting. This isn't a chain fast food joint. We loved our experience here. The food was fantastic! Yes it's messy! You're eating tacos stuffed with delicious things! My kids loved the quesadillas because they have chips stuffed in them. Adds a crunchy texture you didn't know you needed in a quesadilla! We also tried the burritos which are huge and the added tater tots inside are nice. The chorizo tostada was great too. I added the salsa from the chips and salsa appetizer and it was even better. We also tried the al pastor, the pollo asado, carne asada, and mushroom tacos. All of them were amazing! My niece, who is a vegetarian, ordered the mushroom tacos and raved about them.
