At no point was I told there was another buyer actively purchasing the vehicle. Instead, I was led to believe the car was available and that we were moving forward. Then, right after confirming final details, I was suddenly told the vehicle was "in the process of selling." I completely understand first-come, first-served -- that's not the issue. The issue is the lack of transparency. If another buyer was ahead of me, that should have been clearly communicated so I could have made an informed decision (like putting down a deposit immediately). This isn't the first time I've had this happen during my search, but this was by far the most poorly handled. If you're an out-of-state buyer, be very cautious. Don't make plans or assume anything is yours unless you have it locked down in writing. Very disappointing experience.

Mike directed me to two separate shops to have the issue fixed, but neither shop was able to resolve the problem. During this time, I made it clear to Mike that I am pregnant, with children already depending on me, and I urgently needed a reliable vehicle or at least a loaner while I waited. His solution was to offer to "go half" on a rental, but even then, he cheated me out of his portion of the payment. When I realized the Nissan could not be repaired in a reasonable time, I asked for my money back. Instead of being straightforward, Mike attempted to return less than half of the $3,000 I had paid. He then tried to pressure me into taking an old Buick as a downgrade, which did not have the seating space I required for car seats. He promised that it would only be temporary until a Honda part came in, but when the part arrived, he refused to switch me into the vehicle as agreed. Mike also made unethical demands, telling me that if I wrote him two positive online reviews, he would "work something out." I refused to be manipulated into writing fake reviews in exchange for service I was already owed. I kept thorough records of our interactions--text messages and recorded phone calls--so that I would have proof of how the situation was handled. If anyone doubts this, I am willing to provide evidence directly. To make matters worse, I discovered that Das Auto was attempting to resell the Nissan Pathfinder after claiming it had been sent to auction. When I brought this up, I was immediately blocked. Shannon, another employee, was rude and unprofessional throughout the process, while Chad and Mike's brother were the only ones who attempted to handle things respectfully and fairly. Chad in particular tried to ensure I got my refund, but it was clear Mike was the one holding everything up. Mike even went as far as to hold onto a check from Credit Acceptance that was in my name, and I later learned he had opened my mail without my permission, which is illegal. Only after my lawyer contacted the bank did Mike suddenly call me and claim my check was ready. This entire ordeal was stressful, manipulative, and dishonest. If you are considering purchasing a car from Das Auto Carlot, I strongly urge you to reconsider. My experience showed a pattern of dishonesty, lack of accountability, and disrespect for customers' rights and needs. The only positive part of my interaction was with Chad and Mike's brother, who at least tried to do right by me. The gentleman behind the desk and one of the mechanics suggested that I lie in the future about having done any work on my car so they are actually promoting lying and dishonest acts Which further makes me worry about and wonder about their integrity and adds Creedence to the fact that they have been sued multiple times. I would highly recommend trying somewhere else and not doing any business with this place. My father and brother were mechanics and I grew up around a garage and it is worrisome and unethical to turn down work out of fear of being sued again. There are plenty of other garages in the area. They finally got me the info videos of the underside of the car which I feel for the vintage of the car (a 2006 Honda odyssey ex) was warranted before traveling 5 hours to see it in person. after it had been listed for 2 months with no pics and or price I got the videos and price so decided to see it in person. I did also ask multiple questions about condition I asked about oil leaks ,air conditioner , many points of the car that where in my mind skimmed over that should have been disclosed in the manner of courtesy to me with them knowing I was traveling 5 hours to see the Van. One very obvious thing was the fact that the windshield was damaged and the damage was in the line of vision which made it a necessity to replace it to pass inspection. When I took the vehicle for a pre purchase inspection the mechanic found a large oil leak in the engine the 2 front struts where leaking as well as one rear shock. the bottom bracket on one of the struts was bent from bottoming out and would need to be replaced there was evidence of the mud skirts in the front having scraped so I specifically asked to have the dealership look for any metal damage under the skirt before coming to see it and they saw none , rear tail light was damaged an would not pass inspection, no mention of this to me . The air conditioner compressor was leaking and would need replacing. I was also promised that I would get in writing a guarantee that the timing belt water pump and tensioner which they said they replaced would get me to my mechanic back home 5hours away to verify the job.when I asked about this before I test drove it . the person that I was given the guarantee by gave me an attitude such that I was being ridiculous about it .Lots of other issues with this dealer ship.! I passed on the vehicle .I would avoid them and look elsewhere. I know they will come back on this review with some smart excuses and blame me . But do you trust a dealership that would send you out on a test ride for a pre purchase and they did not know if the spare tire was good on the car. Until I asked !!!

So here we go: I'm a 33 year old lady who has had the good fortune to have supportive people around me who will help me negotiate things. But I'm a grown up! I need to fend for myself! And that's how I found myself walking into a car dealership alone, terrified of the impending interaction. Would they take me seriously? Would they try to screw me over? Would they tell me I should come back with a boyfriend or father figure? (All three of these things happened to me the last time I financed a car, a decade ago.) But it was pleasant from the start! The girl at the front desk was so friendly and we chatted for a few moments while we waited on the salesman to arrive. And he was great, too! His name is Scott and I highly recommend him. He was friendly and professional, and still was able to joke around with me. I told him what I was looking for, and we walked around the lot to see options. He even showed me a few cars that were cheaper but in great condition to keep my costs down. He was great about only sticking to cars in my price range. I test drove a couple and decided on one. Next came the nerve-wracking part: financing. My credit isn't trashed, but it could be a lot better than it is. I put my game face on and got ready for the humiliation, but it never came. Jeff was the finance guy, and he couldn't have been friendlier. He even got me a kielbasa sandwich when I mentioned I'd seen him eating one earlier and it looked delicious (in hindsight creepy on my part, but he took it in stride). I told him what I was willing to pay monthly, not even sure if it would pan out due to credit, but he managed to get me slightly under what I was expecting to pay. I was treated with a ton of respect and it really, really meant everything to me. Walking into a dealership, I'm sure a lot of people, especially women, feel they need to instantly go on defense, with me being no exception. I had my guard up but was so happy that it was a total breeze, and actually an enjoyable experience! If I knew it was in a pending sale I would've never ran my credit. 3 days later no phone call or email very poor communication. I don't see the problem here I got approved for the loan I'm downing 10k I honestly don't get it you have a serious buyer that's from California that didn't even look at the car and is still Willing to buy it and ship it at my expense, but I guess the sale associate I believe her Name was akira still wanted to go fishing. imo if I was a sale associate If your trying to sell A car sell it don't beat around the bush. This would never happen in California I promise you that. And if I could give them zero stars I would.
