I've passed by this store every day for the past 3 years. I visit the joining starbucks every morning, but never had a reason to ever to go inside this until today. My wife and I are doing a full kitchen and bathroom remodel and was hoping Splash was going to be our one stop shop for faucet and hardware needs. We had a good idea what we were going in to buy so was expecting a fairly hassle free trip. At the very least i was planning to leave with a new pro style pull down faucet. My expectations were way over stretched though.... Displays are nice (they better be after referring for almost a full year!), but thats pretty much all this place is good for... Absolutely no vendor information, price, dimensions, etc etc. Good luck finding a sales associate too. There was only 1 person on the floor working the entire store floor from what we could tell. (Saturday at 11:30am btw). She just so happened to be in the kitchen faucet room where we were looking around. Granted, she was standing and talking with another customer, but was very unaccommodating as we moved through the room trying to find out what brand each faucet was, let alone what the price was. No offer of getting someone else to help, wouldn't even move off the counter when i wanted to try the faucet next to her. Giving this place the benefit of the doubt, my wife and i went to try and find a different sales associate. None... anywhere. We walked past an office with someone in. Asked if someone could help us but her response was pretty much "I'm busy right now, go and ask at front desk" (she was on a computer fyi, not on a phone, or physically with someone). Not cool. We did walk up to the front desk but kept ON walking out the door. Ended up going to home depot and found the exact Kohler Sous i was looking for, and it was on sale. Oh, we were also greeted as we arrived and received a thank you as we paid. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but this place fell short on so many levels. Outstanding experience! I went in there looking to buy a new kitchen faucet. The showroom is SPECTACULAR. There is a wide selection on models and price range. The cool part is that you can actually test the faucets there! The customer service was simply incredible. I got a very knowledgeable sales guy who knew exactly what I needed and guided me through to pick he best option for my needs. I ended up buying a touch-less one and can't be happier with it. Please do not ever, ever buy anything from this place. I literally spent over $10,000 at Splash. Two Koehler faucets and one tub filler did not fit/ work in my master bathroom renovation and I tried to return them. They refused to refund my money because it was not in the original packaging. If I had purchased the items off of Amazon.com they would have been (a) significantly less expensive. Splash claims they give you a "25% discount," but that is off an incredibly marked up price. Amazon's base price is significantly higher. Plus Splash charges a "delivery fee" which Amazon doesn't. Amazon Koehler products can arrive within 24 hours. Splash orders take considerably longer- by days or even weeks. Finally, Amazon has a generous return policy and don't require "original packaging." I once returned 2 $1,000+ grills with no packaging. Amazon sent a shipper to my house who re-packed the grills for absolutely no fee. My advice. Go to Splash, window shop to your hearts desire, and then buy your products from a retailer or online merchant who understands the value of respectful, professional customer service. read more

After reading all the bad reviews we decided to see for ourselves and went to their lovely showroom and found the previous bad reviews were spot on. We felt we should give them a chance since we are looking to remodel a master bathroom and a second full bath. I visited Splash showroom over the weekend and was highly impressed! I am renovating my kitchen and needed help picking out finishes because, admittedly, I was completely lost. The staff immediately greeted me when I walked in the door and were ready to help me with all the questions I had. Great customer service! All I want is to buy a damn vanity and get out...but no the sales man had to make us wait and then sit me down in his office and tell me that the whole bathroom should be designed around a freakin faucet....are you kidding me??? He also told me that he normally doesn't deal w/people like me as he mostly deals with project that are over 80K... well dude go the f... on deal with those peeps that used to take a 2nd mortgage out on their house to spend 80K on their bathroom, cause normal a..holes like me like to stick to reality. we had a very similar scenario to many of these other reviews... they are snobish jerks!!! we pulled up as they were opening the showroom one morning... literally watched the girl unlock the door. got a unwelcoming hello from the other girl at the front desk. right away we noticed that all of their sales associates were being briefed by a rep for something or other. no problem, we just walked around a bit. however, even when their meeting was over no one came over to us to ask if we needed any help. we had been there a good 20 minutes already by now. so, we went to the front desk for help. the cranky woman asked what we were looking for and my husband told them we are building a house and need 4 bathrooms. FOUR!!!! we walked around waiting for someone to come and greet us but alas, after another 15 minutes we left. FOUR bathrooms!!!! i mean really, what does it take to get someone interested in selling their overpriced stuff! never going back. never reccomending. read more

Please do not waste your time and money at Splash. I wandered around their showroom for 40 minutes a few months ago and NO ONE asked if I needed help or even looked at me. I am doing a whole house remodel and needed to outfit 3 new bathrooms. I certainly a decent sized budget for my project. So all I can say is...I'm not sure who their clientele is or how they are able to stay in business, but I won't spend my money or time at Splash. I recommend the Waterspot and Republic plumbing (Framingham) as alternatives. I would argue that even the Big Box stores have better service than Splash. read more

We are in the process of remodeling our bathroom and looking to but some fixtures and cabinets for our bathroom. We had decided to visit this showroom in order to get some ideas and some guidance. When we walked in, we were greeted by a front desk person that did not move from behind her desk and also did not offer any further help. This theme continued throughout our visit. As we were walking around, browsing; a couple of the employees (who looked like they just got back from getting coffee) walked by us and one of them even took the time to stop and gush over my youngest daughter but there was no offer of help. Of all the customers that were in this establishment, only one couple were being helped. I had read some of the reviews for this place before visiting them, but I decided to give them the benefit of doubt. I must also add that this was not our first visit to this showroom. On our first visit, we were also not greeted or helped until we flagged down someone to ask questions and even then we were treated as if we were disturbing them. I would definitely not give them any of my business and will spend my money elsewhere. read more

We had a great experience working with Splash when we purchased a faucet and soap dispenser for our recent kitchen renovation project. Kim was very helpful and honest in helping us look through various options and pricing levels. She helped us stay within our budget and had a lot of patience when explaining the differences between different models. After our contractor and the plumber opened the box to install them, they noticed that one piece was missing from the soap dispenser. I simply sent an email to Kim and the replacement piece arrived at our house a couple of days later. Couldn't have asked for better customer service and assistance from Kim and Splash! read more

We needed to buy a sink for our kitchen renovation. We HAD to buy one. The person who helped us could not answer questions and was driven to make us buy one particular sink--the most expensive one. I was open to it, but I wanted to know the difference between that one and two others. She didn't know the prices of the others--only the $1600 sink. She said she'd email us the info. Still waiting... Is that the way to turn away business when people really do want to buy? Do they get paid more if that sell that particular sink? Don't they know anything about the products they carry? There is no info or specs on any of their products. Why not give us some basic info so we can make a decision. I understand that they don't want people to come in and eye their products and buy online. But how about letting us buy something there. I've tried to buy other things there, but couldn't get waited on. This attitude/lack of knowledge must come from the owner or sales manager. read more

Many beautiful things in this showroom. That cannot be disputed however be prepared to wait at least double the time you are told for your order to come in. Part of my order was in but they never notified me because they were waiting for knobs which held up my entire job. Totally unnecessary. I would not return to Splash for my next project. Customer service here is barely existent. No follow up and to find out the status of my order seemed to completely annoy the staff. read more

Agree whole heartedly with the previous poster JL - for a high end bathroom showroom, the service here is pitiful. I ordered a $400 faucet from them and they sent me the wrong one. That happens, so I called to explain to them. After a month of no one returning my calls, I had to call and wait for someone to get on the phone (I wasn't leaving my name and number again). I assume there are other high end showrooms in the Needham/Newton area that you will be much better off going to. read more

Need to replace tub shower combination hardware in 4 bathrooms. I want to buy high end. Went into store and let them know at the front counter what i needed. They pointed to the showroom floor. Walked around for about one hour and not one salesperson greeted me or tried to help me. Place felt like snobvillle. There are no prices or info on any of their products on display. I had to google it as i shopper to get info.. I will shop elsewhere. Too bad for them because the showroom was very nice. read more

Recently we had a plumbing emergency requiring rush shipment of a non-stock part, and they scrambled to make sure I had it the next day. If they had a zero star option I would have taken it. They have a great showroom but once you pay the nightmare begins! They don't return phone calls. They don't deliver as promised! We had to call them more than a dozen times to get delivery. The sinks were to be delivered to the countertop manufacturer, which happens to be across the street from them and they were not delivered. This delayed the job by more than a month!! Then, the plumber was delayed because they didn't deliver the toilets as promised. When I called them back to see where they were nobody seemed to know anything. They called me with a delivery date and nobody showed!!! The woman at splash told me they would call me the next day at 8:30am and I got no phone call. I am still waiting! Don't use this company as they have NO integrity and zero accountability. read more

We shopped at SPLASH recently and had a very positive experience. Our sales associate (Kim) was very helpful and spent as much time as we needed. She was very knowledgeable about the products. She never made us feel rushed nor did she try to push us to the most expensive alternatives. She made the whole experience very positive. I did not comparison shop because I honestly did not have the time, We have shopped at SPLASH before and went back because of a positive experience the first time. Kim made it more than positive and we were very happy. I feel confident that delivery will go off without a hitch. At least give them a try. read more

I visited beautiful Splash showroom last Friday to buy several items for my bathroom. The sales associate (I will call her "W") took time to understand what I was looking for and showed me a sink I really liked. I was feeling sad I hadn't found Splash earlier, because I already bought many things elsewhere. Knowing that Splash is a higher-end showroom, I researched the prices and was happy to discover that they were quite competitive with other retailers (and significantly below MSRP in some cases). I could probably find some things for a bit less, but I figured that for the small difference, the personal service from W would be worth it. This is where reality did not match my expectation. The Friday I visited, I emailed W back with a question. I didn't get a response that day, nor for several more days. (Monday we had a snowstorm, and Tuesday was W's day off.) Several hours after calling and leaving a message for W on Wednesday, I finally got a brief reply via email, but my follow-up question went unanswered. Unable to reach W by phone or email, I started to research my questions myself, making calls to three different manufacturers. I discovered one of the items I was thinking of getting actually required a 3rd piece that W didn't tell me about. By Wednesday, I was ready to order, and told W so, but got no response. I tried calling Thursday morning but again did not get through to W who was in a meeting. (I also learned that sales people at Splash work on commission, so it would have been awkward to switch.) Late Thursday afternoon I called Splash to ask if someone could help W place this order, since she was so busy. I felt like I was begging Splash to please let me spend $2500 at their store! I was put in touch with another associate who would be able to finalize and place the order (it was Thursday evening by now.) I even got as far as leaving my credit card number with the associate. After thinking about this situation for about a half hour, and realizing that 1) W did not answer my questions -- I had to do the research legwork myself 2) W did not know what parts came with the things I needed, 3) W didn't warn me about a substantial shipping and handling charge that was not on the original bid, I had second thoughts. My Splash experience was not working out the way I had hoped. I decided I was a fool to do business with them, so I called back and canceled my order. The substitute associate was pleasant enough but thought that W would want to hear from me. W finally called me back (this was the first time the whole week we would speak on the phone.) I was expecting an apology, but W seemed angry that I had canceled the order and wanted to know what was going on. But she didn't let me tell her! Instead she launched into a lecture about how she is a VIP manager who was in "back-to-back meetings" all Wednesday and Thursday. I could not get a word in edgewise. W told me how very important she was, how busy she was, how experienced she was, and even that she has "a large following." A large following? Was I on the phone with The Toilet Queen of Boston herself? (She even mentioned her "following" twice! :-) Needless to say, that comment made for some amusing dinner conversation that evening, and won't be forgotten. So, I guess instead of beautiful sinks, all I got was an attitude from Splash. Perhaps it was just bad luck with a snowstorm and a busy associate (but don't super-busy people at least read and respond to emails when they're stuck at home during snowstorms?) Splash certainly has very nice products, as long as they will let you buy them! Good luck! This place is SO WEIRD. I walked around the beautiful showroom for 30 minutes and not one smile or "Can I help you?" from a salesperson. So, I venture to the front desk to fill out a card to wait for a salesperson. The receptionist barely looked at me or smiled and barked at me to fill out a card. Sorry, I didn't know the rules since I had never been there before. Did I not look like their type of clientele? Suddenly, I felt like I wasn't good enough to be there though I was willing to spend some cash on a nice pedestal sink. Then, a very odd salesperson walked around with me and it seemed like he didn't want to sell me anything or even talk. At that point, I was so creeped out that I made up an excuse and left. Spent an afternoon at Splash at the end of July that turned out to be a total waste of my time. Yes, they carry the better quality, high end products I was looking for. Also, I am an experienced, professional, Kitchen & Bath Designer. I am well versed in Kitchen & Bath Design and all related products from endless hours spent at professional product expos and endless hours shopping with and for my clients. I already know what my design style is and what features I do and do not want in a product so it should have been pretty simple, right? WRONG!!!! ...I had already looked around the showroom on my own before bothering to ask for a sales professional so that I knew ahead of time exactly which of their many items I was interested in and so I was also prepared with any questions I might have regarding them. The salesperson who was supposedly helping me, I believe her name was Nikki, followed me around as I asked her for pricing and estimated delivery dates on a few, very specific items. This was a quick process since it was just me pointing at six or eight items. ...She asked me lots of questions, most of which were needless since, as I told her, I already knew which of their items I was interested in and wanted pricing for. I have 5 bathrooms and a kitchen and laundry room to remodel and a very generous budget to accommodate all of them with quality, high end, high design fixtures. As a formally trained design professional who specializes in Kitchen & Bath remodels, I was way ahead of the curve in terms of my understanding of design, various brands, product features and function and so was a very easy, low-maintenance shopper who didn't need any hand-holding or guidance. My needs could not have been simpler. Unlike most shoppers, I did not need Nikki to explain what I was looking at, to help me compare floor display models, or to help me determine what style of fixtures I was looking for. I simply needed pricing and product dimensions (the spec sheets are pre-printed by the manufacturers so it's not like she even had to measure anything. She just had to print them out) on the handful of specific Items I was hoping to order. ...After wasting a lot of my time answering her questions and doing the required chit chat, Nikki said she would go get me pricing and return with the prices and the dimensions for each item. She had left me in the showroom area near the front door and she ended up being gone for an extremely long amount of time, so much so that the other people who worked there kept asking me if she had come back to me yet and even kept offering to find her for me. After having been extremely patient for a considerable amount of time (at least 30 minutes), when I finally wandered over to the office area with all of the desks, there was Nikki on the phone laughing it up on what appeared to be a personal phone call. She saw me waiting there and while I stood there waiting even longer she made absolutely no attempts to end the call and so I finally wandered away to the entrance again where she had left me 40 minutes prior. I was pretty peeved and tempted to just walk out, but after wasting so much of my time there, and being a serious buyer, I didn't want to leave without the info she had promised me. When she finally hung up the phone and returned to me, she had pricing and dimensions for only 3 of the products I had hoped to purchase instead of for all 6 or 8 of them. She then asked me for my email address which she wrote down and read back to me and she promised to email me the remainder of the information within the next few days. She had written down both of my phone numbers as well as my email address but even after months of waiting, I've never heard back from her. Needless to say, I will be taking my very sizable budget and my multiple projects elsewhere. And, I will no longer recommend Splash to my clients as a showroom to visit for their own needs. She totally wasted an entire afternoon of my very valuable time. ...If this is how poorly they treat you before they get your money, I can't even imagine how poor the service must be once they have your payment in hand. They've come a long way Baby! In the past, I too was left disenchanted, however, I was totally impressed during a recent visit! I was cheerfully greeted the moment I stepped inside their beautiful showroom. Then, I was asked if I needed help and quickly assigned to a sales associate Nadine. She was truly delightful, she knew her stuff, answered all my questions, researched anything she didn't know, got me quotes, printed them up and totally impressed me with her product knowledge, tasteful suggestions and 5 star customer service! Personable and thorough, she followed up with me on a special order by email soon after. Anyone that has read my reviews knows I'm a tough critic, but give this place another chance if you weren't happy. It appears they have turned over a new leaf and have heard our cries! I made several purchases that day and in addition Nadine is helping me replace a defective product from Kohler as well. I'm a fan again! read more

$416 for a faucet that doesn't work, and they can't get the manufacturer (Sigma) to take it back. Don't ever buy the Sigma Piller faucet--it hasn't worked since I have had it--they replaced the cartridge once, and now are offering to do it again (without paying for labor!). How can a company (and Splash as the dealer) not stand behind their products if they don't work? Very poor customer service. read more

I have been thrilled dealing with Splash. Beautiful showroom. Very honest and knowledgeable salespeople, wonderful attention to detail and follow up. The delivery came in on-time and as ordered! The coordination was perfect from our salesperson Wendy to Dalton, the purchasing/shipping coordinator. Even when receiving the items here, they were throughly inventoried to make sure we received all items. We give this a five star rating! read more

As pointed out by many others! - how do they manage to stay in business?. The service is quite weak. First they sent me the wrong shower head and then expected me to pay the additional shipping fee for the correct head that i had ordered, pointing out that maybe i will be lucky and not have to pay the 20% restocking fee on the item that I sent back - again at my expense - this was the site manager who informed me of the company policy...so rather than own up to the mistake of a former salesperson, I basically had to send back the incorrect head, now hopefully will be refunded, and now have to repurchase again and pay shipping fee again and hope the correct one comes! Ordered New bath fixtures. Waited 15 weeks. Received three wrong items and an item we didn't order. They don't pay attention to details. Most of the help and sales force unfriendly and their manager is fully trained to avoid caring about a customer and customer service. Rude , expensive , inept. Go somewhere else. I came to the showroom with my Mother and she came out quickly and helped me in choosing several products. Her sense of style is great. Also I was still in my exercise clothes and did not experience any snobby attitude! The quote was very competitive with other pricing I found. I ended up not ordering with Splash because I live in San Francisco. After knowing I wasn't ordering with Splash, Nadine still promptly answered questions for my General Contractor. Yes, we were hesitant to venture from Back Bay to Newton for our bath remodeling after reading so many negative reviews, but my daughter had said they have gorgeous things. Well, contrary to all we had read, our sales person was fantastic! She absolutely could not have been more helpful, gracious, professional and knowledgeable. I was fully prepared to dislike Splash based on others' reviews, but I went there anyway to have a look around the showroom. On my first visit I was paired with a young female sales associate who mentioned she had been there for three years, but she didn't really seem to know much about the products. I was shopping for a sink and faucet for my newly remodeled kitchen. I had a look around, and the saleslady printed a few price quotes for me. I felt like I knew more about the products than she did. (To be fair, I had done a tremendous amount of research on my own so my questions were very specific.) I went on my way with the intention of making my purchase either online or in a lower-rent neighborhood, which I assumed would have better prices and a wider range of products. (Splash carries mostly higher end stuff.) Then on a whim I was driving down Needham Street a few days later and decided to pop back into the Splash showroom again to take a second look at a sink they had on display that I hadn't seen elsewhere. My original sales person was not in, so I was paired with Jerry. Much to my surprise and delight, Jerry was extremely knowledgeable and experienced. I think he also has a background as a kitchen designer because he was able to weigh in with some very helpful design tips on issues that hadn't occurred to me. Jerry spent a good hour with me on two separate visits, as well as multiple follow-up phone calls. Best of all, I was pleasantly surprised that Splash's prices were not that much higher than online prices. They are wise to price well below MSRP/list because consumers have so many other options online. In the end I ordered my sink and faucet at Splash after all because I was really impressed with Jerry's help. I like the fact that if I have a problem with either of them, I can contact Splash for help resolving it with the manufacturer. I recommend giving Splash a try. I deducted one star because the first sales person I was assigned to wasn't terribly impressive and I may never have returned based on what she had to offer. Also, I find it annoying that the prices are not shown with the products. Each product on the floor has a special code that the salesperson has to go enter into a computer in order to get the price for you. For what it's worth, I also shopped at Ferguson's nearby (smaller selection, salesman really did not know his stuff), Jarvis in Wellesley (very limited selection--they are mostly an appliance place), and Home Depot (crappy products, crappy displays, and crappy help....avoid HD like the plague!). read more
