Surprised... from the reviews Tom seems like a pretty straight forward guy. Unfortunately, my experience with him one month ago was very unprofessional. I simply needed to have a toilet tightened and the wax ring replaced. Tom could not give me a straight answer as to when he could do the work. Never returned my messages promptly. Tom never called me back to make an appointment for the work. I informed him I was available pretty much all day on the day he stated he might be able to come out. Adding another great review for Tom and the Splash Plumber team. I've used these guys for multiple things from minor fixes to bigger things like sump pump replacements. They are fantastic. Tom is true to his word. If he says someone will come, then someone will come. I feel terrible the last time our toilet crapped out for some weird reason and then came back to life. Great group. Needed same day service for a kitchen faucet issue. Splash walked me through various options and addressed the issue same day, with a very efficient and polite crew. I was charged 3 times for the same issue that Splash supposedly fixed. Finally, when called back out again I didn't get a charge. I wish that I would have spoken up about paying for the same issue. We had a bit of water leaking from second floor into our first floor dining room. Tom set us up with plumber Art right away. I was super impressed with how thorough and diligent Art was in figuring out the source of the leak. Ultimately, it was a pipe from the third floor air conditioner that was the problem. I have extremely high expectations for customer service so when a company gets 5 stars from me it is because they go above and beyond the call of duty to please their customers. I'm honestly surprised to see such great reviews here. I'm happy others had a good experience but unfortunately ours was incredibly unprofessional and almost criminal. We had Tom come out to our apartment to to install a washer and dryer in our place. We live in an older building so it wasn't an easy installation but Tom went through a couple of options for us to ensure it would work. We previously had another plumbing company come out to give us a quote and they quoted us almost three times as much and said it would be a very difficult job due to the building structure. I approached Tom with all of these issues and clearly laid out how difficult the building was. He said the job could be done. When the day of the installation came a man showed up (late) and a boy about age 16. When they came in they asked us "What wall are we opening up to install?" I said I can show you were we want the washer and dryer go but I don't know what wall you are opening up and that Tom had previously mapped it all out. His response "Well how am I supposed to know what to do then!?". It was very rude and incompetent. It seemed that he had not run through the plans with the man who planned it out! I am not a professional and was solely relying on me. I reached out to Tom about this and he would only text me even though I had asked that he call me. Fast forward an hour later and we have a hole in our bathroom wall. They tell us "We cannot complete the job since you have a fire brick wall where we need to install". They end up leaving and at the point I cannot get a hold of Tom or anyone else that came to our place for next steps or to seal up our wall. It's a year later and we still have a hole in our wall. They completely ghosted us, were very rude, and seemed like they had never done plumbing work before. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND SPLASH TO ANYONE! Due to the recent reviews it seems that maybe they have gotten themselves together which is good to hear but I can only speak on my experience and I feel like we were dealing with con artists. read more

So far so good. They fixed a drain in my shower and without me realizing fixed my toilet which apparently had been running, and I had not realized wasn't fully functioning. They diagnosed the other problem I called them for too which was my sink saying they would come back this week as soon as they get the part and will instal it for the cost of the part. For $150 an hour and everything gets fixed I would say that is affordable and a job well done! read more

Upon Splash's initial visit to my apartment they misdiagnosed a leak that was affecting the unit below as coming from my faucet. The dribbling leak from the faucet was obviously not the cause of the problem. When they returned to fix the faucet, I pointed out to them the warped floor board wondering if there was a leek in the wall. The Splash plumber was obviously annoyed that I even questioned because that wall had no water running in it. If I could give 6 stars I would! First of all, I have a complicated plumbing setup in my condo (flood control installed in my bedroom floor) and was having sewage smell AND hot water banging in my condo when I needed hot water. I had at least 7 different plumbers come and contacted over 15 via yelp. Tom was the ONLY person that could do a smoke test and gave me a quote online! Once he came out, I knew I could trust him from our initial meeting because 1. He didn't try to upsell me 2. He didn't tell me he knew something he didn't -- So far I got a new hot water heater from Splash which addressed the hot water banging (also he was the only plumber that diagnosed it as a water heater issue) Next we are doing investigative work via Smoke to address and find my mysterious sewage smell issue. His prices are VERY fair and he takes the time to explain the issue so you understand what is going on. I'm a real estate broker who does a ton of rentals so I run into all kinds of tradesmen. Splash Plumber is wonderful. My mother-in-law gifted us a new dishwasher shortly after we moved in, and had a team from Best Buy deliver and install. The Best Buy guys told us they couldn't install it because we have a "bad valve." Cue the search for a local plumber to fix the valve and finish the job Best Buy was supposed to do. Tom responded to my inquiry within an hour or less, and was incredibly responsive throughout the process. His quote was very reasonable compared to some other area plumbing companies. He was also able to communicate via email and text, which is especially helpful for someone with a chaotic schedule. He got us scheduled quickly, and confirmed the night before. His guys arrived right on time, and were extremely professional and honest. They immediately identified that our valve did not need replacement, only needed to be tightened. They did an excellent job installing our new dishwasher, as well as a pedestal sink and faucet. Tom took payment over the phone, and emailed an invoice right away. They were all very professional and careful while inspecting inside my house putting down plastic and coverings on my floors. All of my questions and concerns were answered appropriately.
