Came out super fast. Plumbers are still excellent. Prices are still too high. $230 per hour (minimum) plus if you need a sink rodded or something they charge another $20 to use the auger. Not sure if they charge to use wrenches and such. Maybe they charge by the tool? I wonder if it is more for a larger wrench? They didn't put on boot covers which is annoying but then again, I probably would have been charged for that. read more

I called for a basic Sloan valve repair. I told customer service this when I scheduled. Plumber showed up took 15 minutes to tear the toilet apart. Left and was gone for over 2 hours getting part. Plumber told me there was a line to get the part. (This is standard part and should have had on the truck.) Returned and took about 40 minutes to put back together. Did not replace the shut off because it would require building to shut down. (He did not tell me that when he said the repair.) Charged for 3 + hour ($230 hr) of labor and parts. The toilet valve was still leaking!!! I called and complained. He came back and spent about 15 minutes working on it. P. S. Plumber told me that next time I have someone shut down the water they can finish replacing the entire valve. Additional Info: The shut off that I paid for and was not installed... wrong part and worthless. Over $100, I am going to try and return. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. read more

I had a very good experience today with Eric with Power Plumbing & Sewer. This company was recommended to me by another plumber who couldn't take my job. I had a new dishwasher installed that was not receiving water and a new gas stove that needed its hookup altered in order to get it closer to the back wall. Eric was punctual, professional, knowledgeable, and solved these two problems and another very minor one involving plugging in my air fryer without my having to pay to install an additional outlet. It was a Sunday, and my tenant had water coming through her ceiling from the unit above. My regular plumber had the flu, and my backup was out of town. I called this place on a recommendation from a friend. They told me they had a guy in the field who could stop by. Fast forward -they located the leak and told me they could not fix it that day but would have to pull out the kitchen cabinets and break open the fire brick, which would take all day. Now can you pay us $1400! Their office gave me a testy call explaining that it was double time with a 2-hour minimum. No one had informed me of that before they walked into my unit. But even still that is $700 per hour. If that is double time, that means their rate is $350 per hour. I paid their stupidly exorbitant bill but will never use them again, especially since my regular plumber went over this morning and was able to unscrew the leaking pipe and replace it in less than an hour. So much for an all-day job where they have to pull the cabinets out and remove two layers of brick!! read more

All I needed was a simple disconnect/reconnect service so that I could install new kitchen countertops. I ended up paying $700+ for this. I dont know if that's the typical price for something that took 20 min each time, (so less than an hour altogether) but if that's the case then maybe I'm in the wrong business. While the plumber was here he kept replacing parts without even asking if i wanted it, and saying "oh such and such valve is normally expensive" as if he was doing me a favor. He then charged an arm and a leg anyway. Eh, technically he did the job ok, but if that's the only criteria then our standards are too low. From the moment I opened the door the guy had a bad attitude, and he would make negative comments throughout the experience. I likely won't use them again because for the price I would have to pay I'd rather not listen to someone gripe about their job. read more

AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS! After making an appointment for a camera scope for my drain, two service people came and said they I needed a trap installed which I told them ahead of time I wanted them to access before doing anything, They confirmed that a trap needed to be installed and that I need to call back and set up another appointment and they couldn't help even with time scheduled already. Also even though they didn't do a camera scope they wouldn't leave without taking $200 for being inside my home for 10 minutes without doing anything. (They charge minimum $400 for one hour of camera scope with $90 for each 15 minutes afterwards) Two other companies afterwards told me I got screwed over. Every time one of the team comes out, they are professional, courteous, efficient and informative! Not only do they fix the problem, but they provide suggestions for how to prevent problems from happening again. Their estimates are right on the money, and if there is a variance, they explain why. Our most recent issue was a clogged sink and no hot water on that sink. Tony took care of it quickly while also showing me what had caused the clog and the lack of hot water. Power plumbing came to investigate a leak in my condo. They charged me over $350 for the visit and for some incredibly basic sealing that they said "might or might not fix it", telling me I needed a pipe replaced and the job would cost nearly $4,000. The incredibly high visit fee for doing almost no work besides throwing a $4k estimate at me was already off putting. I understand having a fleet of plumbers on call with vehicles etc costs something - but this was excessive. I then found another plumber to get another opinion on the pipe and was quoted LESS THAN HALF of what power plumbing estimated the same exact work at. That work has since been done, the leak was fixed, and the other "cheaper" plumber was another big and well known plumbing company with overhead for a fleet of vehicles etc - not "some guy who could do it cheaply". They fully copped to the fact that a single independent plumber could likely do it for less, etc. That other plumber did a great job at half the price power plumbing quoted me. I'd strongly recommend getting a second opinion / bid against power plumbing based on these two experiences. read more

These guys are terrific. It's easy to reach them and they are quick to respond. Scheduling was easy and they followed up to confirm the appointment the day before. Their plumbers were extremely professional and clearly knew what they were doing. They arrived on time and spread drop cloths I. The area where they were working. They actually left the place cleaner than they found it. :-) They replaced an old kitchen sink and faucet for me and helped me every step of the way - from figuring out the logistics of what size and kind of sink I needed, to having it shipped to them so they could bring it with when them came. Their plumbers also fixed a couple of issues they found in the process (such as the way the dishwasher was draining - suddenly I have cleaner dishes and my dishwasher no longer had a sour odor!) I had an issue with my shower that I thought needed a valve adjustment. Huge project, removing tiles on the wall and cutting into wall for access. Ugh!! Tony came out, diagnosed the problem and was tenacious on getting a solve without having to cut into the wall. Viola, we needed to replace cartridge and blow out some clogs in the piping!! I had some minor work to move a vent pipe in order to open up my kitchen. Power Plumbing came out to check the pipe, gave me an estimate and were easy to schedule with. The guys that came out did a fantastic job, were done faster than expected and were even able to reuse some of the materials, always good in a time when costs can be out of control. There was a minor issue with billing, but the team at the office worked extremely hard (even with the holidays approaching!) to make it right, which as a new customer felt great. I had a lousy experience with Power Plumbing. Here's why: 1. The Power Plumbing team found that the main line was clogged with tampons and this was the main issue. However, I had another clog happen 1 week later, so I called out another service (I couldn't afford another $1K) that rodded the line (for 1/4 of the Power Plumbing price) including a camera scope and they found a collapsed drain line. 2. The other plumbers that came out the 2nd time said the 1st rodding was not a great job, as there were still tree roots in the pipes. So I'm lead to believe the 1st job wasn't done thoroughly. 3. The Power Plumbing team couldn't have been at the house for longer than 2-3 hours and it cost over $1K--and the main issue wasn't figured out or fixed. I kind of understand charging a flat fee, but this is a ton to pay for a mediocre rodding service without identification of the solution. 4. They mentioned that there's tons of sediment, but my other plumber totally disagrees and I basically see the base of the catch basin, so I'm not sure about this either. Installed 15k flood control system 6 years ago, have flooded every year since. First time power plumbing came out to check, they said we didn't service annuals so our fault. Fair enough, had serviced. Next time said there was stick blocking flap, our fault again, paid 300+ to service. Next time the outdoor extension cord they ran from pump to outdoor outlet wasn't working and they said we should have had it hardwired, our fault again. They reconnected cord, said pump working fine, and I have electrician scheduled to come in the next week. Flooded again. 3 days after power plumbing came out to service. Checked the pump they told me was working fine 3 days ago and it's not working at all. I'm sure they'll say it's my fault again. If you want to pay tens of thousands of dollars to continue to flood, power plumbing is your place. read more

The scheduling and service were great. The person calling to collect the payment was extremely rude. I had the service on 6/28 for an emergency repair. The scheduling process with Paul and the service from Erik were both great. Erik explained everything to me while he's on-site and the job was finished on the same day. On 6/30, I called Power Plumbing to get the invoice, so I could pay. The person answering the phone was polite and told me that they haven't caught up all the paper work yet and they will send me the invoice once they have. Today (7/28) 2:04pm was when things went downhill, I received a call with "I'd like you to pay the bill. Your credit card info?" as the opening. Without given proper explanation, I was baffled and explained that I didn't receive the invoice. The person was very impatient and responded with they already sent it. I check with them on the email address they sent to. They wouldn't say and only asked me to provide my email again. I did that and the person again urged me to provide my credit card number with bad tone. I took the time to review the bill and asked some questions. After I got the answers, I paid the bill. To me, the bill paying experience was a terrible one. I'll think again before I use Power Plumbing & Sewer in the future. read more

I called to schedule an appointment to fix a toilet. I explained that I had a wall hung toilet repair and was told that they couldn't guarantee they could fix it. Then was told they would call when they are on their way, which I declined because I needed an appointment for a future time, because it was a rental and I can't just show up without notice. Also I am a working professional and need to have notice myself. I asked if we could set up a time for a future date and they said, sure we'll call you back to set up an appointment, bye.
