I love this place. I was sad when one of the three amigos passed away, and it makes my heart pitter patter every time I see his picture in their shop. The guys are friendly, and during Covid they started offering drop off and pick up, which is really cool. They have the news on in their store front and thank sweet baby Jesus it's not Fox News, so I'll give them credit for that. The owners are very polite and professional, and always so kind and helpful to me Prices are fair and anytime I've had to return something because it wasn't done 100% right, they work with me without acting a fool. That's not given!! Plus, this is a neighborhood staple. There are two spots on the side and one spot in the front for loading and dropping off which makes it super convenient. First: Lose the attitude. I said hello and said I was picking up a tailored romper, and was greeted with, "So what do you want?" Second: I bought my own lace trim zipper for the garment. I wanted the zipper and lace exposed, took a picture, asked him if he wanted me to send him the picture, he said no. Went to pick up the garment and they made it an invisible zipper. I told them it wasn't right, and they said they couldn't do it any other way, which is completely incorrect. I asked why no one called me then, and he said again, "what do you want?" he initially said to take it for free then, but then the seamstress gets hosed for their poor communication, so I paid half. Lose the attitude, listen to your clients. Just because it's the way *you* want to do things, doesn't make it the way people are paying for you to complete work. Dry cleaning and tailored clothes are expensive and we care enough to take them in because they're garments we enjoy, and it's that much more disappointing when our clothes are ruined by your carelessness. read more

For dry cleaning it's ok but NEVER get your pants hemmed here. I paid for 2 pants to get butchered. 1st pair she didn't do a proper over lock stitch and cut it with pinking shears?! Seriously, pinking shears. Not a craft project. And didn't give enough of of a cuff for me to have them fixed somewhere else. 2nd pair, she cut a knit pant and overlock stitched this pair which expedites fraying. After I ask them not to cut it when I dropped them off. I Knew the man i talked to didn't make the note. Then after trying them on they didn't even cut them evenly one side is an inch longer!! Your seamstress is horrible They charged me 36 for 2 butcher 700.00 worth of pants!! Ugh never again FML read more

Since coming here they have been very helpful with my clothes. I was a little skeptical taking my garments here because of the reviews but their service and attention to detail have passed my test. Mr. Henry, the man who will most likely help you in the mornings, has been great at telling me which clothes need dry cleaned or put in the laundry. Over the years I've noticed most people that go to the cleaners don't take the time to let the business know what areas need special attention. I'm able to point stains out to Henry and he will let me know the difficulty of fully eliminating that stain. If you're not in a rush and appreciate the clothes that you put on your skin I recommend Splendid. "Quality is Our First Concern" (Good mission statement if you ask me. Been going to this place for 14 years or more Not after them trying to scam me today! Brought in some very expensive vintage bags. I explained to them that one of them I was going to keep and 1 I was going to sell. The one that I was going to sell I told them to clean, the one I wanted to keep I asked them to take a patch off of it. They said too much work and expensive and to do it myself with a razor blade. Another bag they said they wouldn't clean because of leather on it. So 2 bags dropped off. They tried charging $60 and I said that's expensive for 2 bags so we agreed on $40. They kept tens for a week and I come in and the receipt showed $60 and they tried scamming saying that 1 bag was 2 bags because the bag has a compartment that detaches. But the worst thing was they took all the patches off all the bags hence destroying the one I was going to sell. While I was waiting while they were assisting with another customer I was looking at the job they did and it was horrible, all the sewing thread strings were still attached to the bag, it took me probably 25 seconds to pull them off so that it can look clean, but why half-ass the job, they probably figured since they were going to try to scam me another $20 to take patches off. Then I told them they had to fix it and they were trying to charge me. This was very upsetting so I just left. They said they could glue a patch back on and that it would cost them money to fix. Well you destroyed it so you should fit it. I got the price back down to $40 like he originally quoted me on receipt since I wasn't going to be scammed but I basically had to pay $40 so they could destroy a bag. They said simple miscommunication but that's not cool, at least fix what you damaged. You told me you weren't going to fix the 1 bag then you take it upon yourself to destroy the bags then try to charge me more then try to charge me again to fix. This is absolutely insane and beyond rude!!! Guy tried to act like it was someone else I spoke to but I clearly was helped by same guy dropping off and same guy picking up, he always wears long sleeve cuffed at the wrist dressy shirts. When I dropped off bags he commented on the one I was keeping saying "yeah nice bag they don't make them like this anymore". I would think communication is key on running a business since it's pretty simple procedures at a dry cleaner. But to scam and destroy and to try to blame someone else then try to charge me then try to half ass a job again to suggest to glue!! Not to mention I've lost a few expensive Bape shirts over the years that were probably from not picking them up in time but they could have called, after all phone number is always on the ticket. But that's what happens when you take expensive items to dry cleaners, there's always a risk. I'll be trying new places since it's not like this was good value or turn around anyways! The owner's brother called me a week later and told me if i wanted to get my pants fixed it would cost $65 dollars thats $30 above what they first quoted me!!! This experience was so bad i thanked them picked up my garments and took them to another tailor that charged me $25 total. This place takes advantage of customers NOT coming back again. I dropped off a jacket and two sweaters at Splendid Cleaners, when I brought them home, I noticed not one had been cleaned. They had the original stains still on them. When I took them back, the owner said this had never happened before. He asked me if it was my first time there, which it wasn't and failed to take responsibility for the situation. He made such a big fuss about how this could have happened, and was I sure it happened here, instead of taking accountability, apologizing and saying we'll re-do it. He told me it wasn't a big deal. When I asked for my money back, he said NO. He was so unpleasant, i didn't want to leave my clothes there. It was extremely disappointing and I will not go back. I don't trust them. read more

Very bad place. I regularly get my business attire dry cleaned and have gone to multiple cleaners over the years as I've moved around. Splendid Cleaners is the worst, and I strongly suggest you go elsewhere. I now go to Elegant Cleaners on Pico. Every time I went to Splendid, the staff would practically yell at me. They were rude and argumentative. I always went in with a smile on my face and came out feeling gloomy. They routinely argued about what I wanted to do with my clothes - "you want to dry clean this? no! toss it in the laundry!" - guy, they're my best clothes, you're a dry cleaner, I'm asking you to dry clean them, what's the problem? - "what's wrong? you think laundry will shrink them? is that what you think?!" - nope, and even if I did, it's none of your business and you shouldn't be treating your customers with such disrespect anyway. I'm not asking for much, just friendly service and clean clothes. Splendid Cleaners' credit card machine also doesn't work sometimes and they blame it on you. From now on, I'm going to go out of my way to go to any other dry cleaner other than this one. read more

I'm not a fan. I tried this place about 3 or 4 times. Simply put, they don't get my clothes clean. Then one of the owners seriously lacks customer service, he so mondaine, and refuses to lower the price even when I'm showing him my garment is completely not clean...and he agrees. My black jacket had white deodorant marks. These are marks that would easily lift with water, I pay $12 to get it dry cleaned and they don't get that out. He even agreed that that should have come out easily. But told me to bring it back another day because they were about to close. But he didn't want to discount it at all. I don't have time to keep back tracking for them redo my orders. I had them re-do one order, and they did a much better job the 2nd time, but I'm not sure why there had to be a second time... and I must note, the 2nd time still wasn't great, it was just better. Any items with odor remain the same. It's as though they were not even dry cleaned. Also, I took in a coat. It had lent and a bit of cat hair on it. It was returned to me with the same lent and cat hair. The attendant tried to say it wouldn't come off. I was like, "it's lent. It will come off with a roller brush". Lol. Then he finally agreed to do it again. That's it for me. Need to find a new dry cleaner. 2 stars is only because they did re-do it, although I had to waste time and gas coming back. And because one of the attendants is really nice and helpful. But that's if you're lucky enough to get him, he's the only one. I think his name is Alex. I brought a 100% cashmere sweater in to be dry cleaned. When I got it back there were four holes that I know were not there previously. I called the cleaners that same day and they told me to bring it back and they can fix the holes. When I brought the sweater back I was told that the holes were there prior and to fix it the seamstress would charge me. I am 100% confident that the sweater did not have the holes prior especially since I noticed them as soon as I went to hang it in my closet. I've gone here for over a year and never had a problem -- but recently they told me they lost one of my nicest shirts. It turns out they were lying - it was not lost, but rather damaged. -- now, I can definitely excuse a mistake and move on but what has caused me to go elsewhere was there handling of the situation after the shirt was damaged. They told me it would be a week before they could find a replacement. It has been three weeks. I showed them receipts and just asked that I be reimbursed but they refused. More than that, they never so much as apologized but instead suggested I was out of line for being irritated by the situation and delay. Had they simply given me a date, which they would honor, to either reimburse me or replace my shirt, and be nice about it - there'd me no issue (I know mistakes happen) and I'd have 5 stars for this place. What they lack in personality, they make up with cute design kitsch. I mean, how awesome is that sign?! And the website? Adorable. They do good work and that's what counts. Kudos for the coupons on the website (saved me a few bucks) and when I found a few wrinkles in a shirt, they repressed it gratis with no questions asked. They have a tailor who moonlights but call first because she's only in certain days and leaves before 2PM. Also, and this is directed at customers: there is a temporary parking green zone in front of the store which is very convenient. This "green zone" is designed for two cars, yet people always seem to park in the middle of the zone, thereby hogging the whole thing. I'm sure you didn't notice because you were likely texting while parking but please, BE A NICE PERSON and DON'T TAKE UP THE ENTIRE GREEN ZONE. It's lazy and selfish. This place is my neighborhood dry cleaner; they're five blocks from my house, easy to park at, fast service, and it's nice and small and best of all, local! Great for everyday items, but they also have a quick tailoring service - buttons, hems, that sort of thing, and they always do a great job. They've never lost anything of mine, either, something I can't say for those giant cattle-call dry cleaners. They say they do rug-cleaning too (like, area rugs) and I have two antique ones that need cleaning so I'll come back and let everyone know how they did on mine when I get them done. read more

Great friendly service. Nice clean environment. I took my jeans there for alterations and was instructed to go to the back to chat with the seamstress. I knew exactly what inseam length I needed so I told her 32" regular hem, no crease. I had asked for hem with originals out of habit and she took a look and there was no distressing so she told me to just do regular hem since with originals is more expensive. Great! I thought. She told me to come back in a week to pick them up. When I picked them up, I checked the hems and the stitching is a bit crooked. It's just hems so I don't really care as much, but growing up with a seamstress for a mom, and having hemmed my own jeans in the past... it really isn't that hard to sew with the machine in a straight line. Granted the settings need to be particular since the elastic in the jeans and thickness of the material makes it trickier to sew, but it just seems like it was a rushed job. She did color match the thread, so for that I'm happy, but uneven stitching *shakes head*... I'm sure they would fix it if I asked, but I'd really just can't wait to wear them! I'd probably only come back for dry cleaning. Personally I can't recommend getting your designer denim hemmed here. Maybe I should have stuck with Bal Tailoring in WLA. read more
