It's one hour-ish if you drop off your clothes at the ass crack of dawn when the light of the moon is just right on a leap year. The rest of the time, expect to wait at least a day or two. Sometimes three. Tailoring services. They're just ok. Not bad, not stellar, but ok. Everything I've had tailored here appears to be just fine but never stays that way long. It's like they use magic thread that goes to shit after exactly three wears to keep you coming back. You could set your clock by that thread! Advertised leather cleaning. Did you read above? Hell no, I wouldn't trust them with my leather goods. The prices. They've always seemed a little high to me to be blunt about it, but then, what dry cleaner isn't? But here's the rub. They have this little green felt numbered table at one end of the counter with two giant (but disappointingly, not fuzzy) dice. The idea is you roll your discount, so when you come in to pick up your clothes the lady will tell you to take a roll the dice. (I'm trying to spare you, dear reader. As you can imagine, this caught me off guard on my first visit.) I've never scored more than 10% off but according to the sign on the wall you can get more than half your bill sorted with a talented wrist. Environmentally sensitive cleaning. Say what? I absolutely have a problem with this place because the owners are just rude. The only reason I use cleaners is because it's my boss' preferred cleaners, and I'm trying to figure out why... My first few times in this place, the people behind the counter were rude to me, dismissive and didn't care if I was there or not, except for when I was giving them money for the clothes they cleaned. My by far FAVORITE (and I am saying this with complete sarcasm) moment at this establishment was when I brought 10 decorative pillows to get cleaned. When the pillows were ready I went to go get them, I paid them and brought them back to my boss' house. Once there we realized that they did not give us two of the pillow that were furry (the same pillows just two different sizes). I went back to the cleaners where BOTH owners continually called me a liar and that I couldn't count when I dropped the pillows off originally, I didn't bring the furry pillows, that I lost them and so forth... ((this story does not end pretty, I had to replace the pillows that the cleaners told my boss I had lost/stolen)) Two weeks later I went to go pick up another round of clothing that my boss had brought to the cleaners when the gentleman (who two weeks before called me a liar and a thief) said he found the pillows and he got confused because he didn't realize that one side of the furry pillows were leather and he had to send them to a specific cleaning location. The owners are very kind and even helpful because once i took a shirt in for a dry cleaning and the owner informed me instead to just launder it which is cheaper. Prices are VERY affordable, personally, i think it's one of the cheapest place in LA but the price doesn't reflect the quality and service that they provide. I hear many major tv news anchors have their clothes sent here also so you know they do a great job. I'm no dry cleaning expert but I've been coming here for years (literally over 10) and have never had a problem. They do all my denim alterations and suit/skirt hems, as well as press my intricately layered delicates. As far as their pricing goes, honestly, I'm clueless, but I feel happy enough with their product to never bother checking (this lack of price checking is highly out of character). I used to think dry cleaning was just dry cleaning ... and then I learned that dry cleaning can be ridiculously expensive, untowardly cheap, or that regular old kind of dry cleaning I thought existed everywhere. This is the regular kind. The staff is nice, although the English is a little questionable at times. My clothing is always cleaned and pressed without issue -- and done the way I like it. Repairs (mending and button attachment) have been made with done with a modicum of skill. And my clothes have always been ready when they'd say they would be. The price of services is reasonable, although not super inexpensive. Oh, and you get to roll the dice on the craps board to determine your discount -- every time you visit ... and making drycleaning fun is definitely worth an extra gold star. read more
