Had someone puke all over my sofa from a get together a few days prior and emailed a bunch of cleaning providers late the night before. Contacted Spotless to clean our sectional sofa that, after 6 years and a dog, definitely needed a clean. They worked with me to schedule a time that worked for us, which was very helpful. Joe came by ahead of the cleaners to assess the couch and give us a quote and the cleaners arrived later that afternoon. I think it took about an hour for the actual cleaning. We have a very large three piece microfiber sectional and Spotless did a great job - deep shampoo, disinfect, stain protection, the works. Took about a day to dry and the couch looks awesome. You tolerate these blemishes for a while -- chalk it up to typical wear-and-tear / city living. You buy more Resolve. You attempt to mask the questionable odors with Febreze. You read every single Google search result on homeopathic white vinegar concoctions to remove stains and odors. Then you succumb to the fact that, as an adult who no longer cuts corners with shitty Ikea furniture, you need to seek the help of a professional who will see your Resolve/Febreze/vinegar remedy and raise you a legit, professional cleaning service that -- not only rids your rug and upholstery of stains and stench -- but also sanitizes them and protects them from future (inevitable) incidents. After a quick Yelp search, we discovered Spotless NYC and were impressed by the glowing reviews. We called the next day and requested a quote, and Ron came by that same day to assess our mess. He was friendly, honest and trustworthy and quickly diagnosed our situation with his expert eye. In fairness, anyone could've told us our rug / sofa were whack after just a quick glance, but Ron clearly knew exactly what needed to be done and walked us through the process he recommended (noting our rug might need not one, not two, but three cleanings, but -- not to worry -- all additional cleanings would be included in our original quote). He whisked away our filthy (overpriced) white wool rug and one of his employees brought it back just two days later, IMMACULATE. Upon delivery of the rug, this employee went to town on cleaning and sanitizing our dog fur-ridden sofa and left it looking better than it did when we bought it. I contacted SpotlessNYC to get a price quote for sofa and rug cleaning. After some back and forth, Mike gave me a price quote on the phone, based on the photos and description I sent, and he confirmed service-day. Late Sunday night, the day before I was expecting service, Mike called to confirm next day appointment and then told me a completely different price quote than the original price he gave me few days earlier. I was shocked when he said the cost is double of original quote. After a confusing bargaining battle, I settled at $600 which was $100 more than the original quote. I asked Mike to confirm the service details and cost by E-mail. A few minutes later I received an invoice. Next day early Mike called to say the workers are on their way. It was earlier than I expected but OK , I already finished moving furniture and clearing the area around the sofa and rug that would get service. Two workers arrived with big hellos and smiles, Kevin and Cipriani. They are lovely people, vey nice, friendly, skilled, respectful and hard working. They spent more than an hour cleaning the sofa and 8x10 rug. They did a good job. The manager Abraham stopped by quickly to collect check payment. He's a nice and friendly person too and he confirmed, just as Mike did, that I would definitely be happy with SpotlessNYC service. Yes, I am. I requested a quote online after someone vomited on our recliner. They called me immediately and we set up a 2-hour time window (3-5 PM) the day of for them to come. During that time window, they messaged me that they were running late, and moved the time to 5-6 PM. It got later and later, so we eventually rescheduled to the day after since I wasn't be able to be home anymore. The next day, the crew arrived at the tail end of the 2-hour time window, and I showed them the couch. I had no idea what the standard price was for couch cleaning, so I was bit hesitant about the price. They were kind enough to give me time to contact my roommates, and settle on a price. Spotless was great. I needed two simple area rugs cleaned. I thought the prices were a tad bit steep (over $200 each), but since I needed the service done ASAP, I went with it. I had to delay the process for about a month, but Spotless was great at working with me and planning ahead of time. They came to pick up the rugs and also dropped them off. When they delivered them, I thought they would assist in putting them back (the rugs were heavy and I had to lift furniture to place them), but they did not. While the results of the cleaning were great, I did not appreciate the quality of customer service and the attitude I received from Daniel. When I called them with my initial concern, he quoted me at $100-150. I approved that cost and scheduled a pick-up with him for Sunday from 11-2 p.m. but asked that he come before 1:00 as I had plans. He did not arrive until close to 3:00 p.m. after having texted me at 11:48 a.m. that he will be there within the hour. Thankfully, I was able to leave the rug and my $100 deposit with my doorman so I did not have to sit around all day waiting. Extremely inconsiderate and unprofessional. Fast forward to three days later - still have not heard from him about my rug and when I will be receiving it. I follow up and he tells me that it will actually be $200. I asked him to try and get the cost down to $150 and he said he would get back to me. The next day, I receive a text from him that my rug has been cleaned, my check has been deposited - and that the cost will remain $200. He completed the service AND cashed my deposit without me ever having approved the cost, even after me telling him I was not comfortable with that cost and that I would prefer to pay via CC. He then told me that he would refund my check and allow me to pay with a credit card, and knocked the price down to $150 - great. Not. Few minutes later I receive a text saying "btw I was texting u and another customer before and I got texts mixed up." He told me he would leave $100 cash with the rug when it was delivered so that I can make the payment via credit card. The rug was dropped off - without $100 cash. So now, despite my request to pay with credit card, I am stuck paying with a check. The whole ordeal was very stressful, I felt that Daniel was constantly trying to upsell me on services I did not need. Though it ended up working out in my favor in the end, I did not have a pleasurable experience with Daniel blowing up my phone at all hours of the day (calling and texting, when I told him I preferred texting during business hours). All in, I am sure I can get this same level of service without the hassle and anxiety elsewhere. In response to the manager's comments to my review - it absolutely was not unfounded. Three weeks ago I was laying on the couch in my living room when I thought to myself, "this couch really fucking stinks." I figured at that point it'd probably be a good idea for someone to come clean it but then the playoffs came back on and I stopped thinking about it. Then, today, my 14-month-old was laying on the couch in my home office when out of nowhere a half-gallon of vomit was expelled from his body and directly onto my couch. While his mother cleaned it all up, I sat down, reflected on those smelly couch thoughts from the other week, and started to Yelp for a couch cleaner. Came across Spotless NYC and checked out a number of their reviews. What I really liked is that a lot of their (positive) reviews came from Yelpers who don't just write a Yelp review from time to time - rather, many of their positive reviews came from Yelpers like me who won't make a decision in LIFE without checking whether that decision averages four stars on Yelp (i.e., I found my doctor, dentist, and church on Yelp). I called and spoke with Daniel, the owner, and immediately felt a good energy from him over the phone. After sending him pictures of my couches, he quoted me an amazing price, and, even better, told me that the couches could be deep cleaned, shampooed, and sanitized TODAY. After I got off the phone with Daniel, his technicians Meir and Sako were at my apartment within 15 minutes. They physically assessed the situation and got to WORK on my couches. They spent at least an hour on each couch detailing and sanitizing all framework, cushions, and pillows. When all was said and done, both of my couches looked like new and smelled soooooo good. Even right now my home office and my living room smell like a glade plug-in is switched all the way over to full blast. Really great work they did. It goes without saying that from my experience, Spotless NYC is a professional operation through and through. As a business owner myself (I'm the principal attorney for a private law practice in midtown), I can tell you that these guys do business the right way. They're all about quality over the hustle. They know that if they do a good job, you'll take the ten minutes necessary to sit down and write a good Yelp review, and/or tell your friends about them, and/or use them again for yourself in the future. A lot of business owners in NYC don't get that basic business principal and will talk a good game over the phone and/or market themselves as professionals but then inevitably show their true colors once it becomes clear they were just out to get your money. True professionals know that when you qualitatively take care of your customers, the money will come anyway, and generally a lot more of it than when you're just out here fucking people over. All that to say, Spotless NYC qualitatively took care of me and my couches. Spotless Carper & Upholstery Cleaning is fantastic. I have a very fussy cat who liked to use my roommate's sofa as a bathroom in protest. Spotless gave me a great quote which included a deep clean, disinfection, and application of a Scotchgard coating to the couch. When they saw that the rug was dirty, they offered to throw that in too, and told me to bring the rug from my bedroom out to be cleaned as well! Spotless was also very sensitive to my hectic schedule, and worked with me to find a time when I would be home for them to come do the work.
