Horrible this sadly I'm my eyes and opinion has gone down hill horribly... ever since the OG OWNER Linda sold it, it has not lived up to the standards from the new owner. They really do treat colored non white better and not just from having to deal with it but seeing it first hand as well watching it happen to others. Last couple times I went I was ignored to be seated and that time it wasn't busy - second time I was ignored on my order and it was wrong and our food came out super late - third time was take out and my crab cakes had plastic tons of it in it idk why...? The owner did reach out and say he'd give me a free crab cake meal if I remember right but I don't want to go back anymore. The managers are rude as hell to me and others and it's so sad how anyone can just be a manager because they feel they can be but not have the proper training and people skills in every scenario to deal with calmly. I've seen this restaurant run smoothly with Linda back in the day and now any little sign of business being busy and it's chickens running around with their heads cut off. They need a fire lit under their ass and better training like Linda had and better staff definitely! No way they can let it all go to hell so soon without a real fight to bring it back to amazing status and also work on treating everyone equal and not seating white peoples first and ignoring whoever got their first it's rude. I'm not playing the race card because I want to it's because what I see. I don't get the same excitement I used to about it. If you go here and your white you'll prob be treated well and the food idk good luck If your any other color good luck it'll be luck if they treat you or not skip you in line to seat others. This used to be a 5 star for me now 1 star it's what is at. What a night! The Sixers scored a victory, but they weren't the only champions in town. My family and I hit the jackpot with a fabulous Arnold Palmer! We usually mix our lemonade and iced tea like pros, but this place takes it to a whole new level--like a refreshing hug in a glass! Now, let's talk about my culinary adventure. I bravely ventured into the realm of vegan cuisine with their meatballs, marinara, and linguine. It was so good, I almost forgot it was vegan--who knew I could be this adventurous? I'm ticking off items on my food bucket list this year, and starting at Spotted Dog felt like a solid strategy. In our family's collective mission to eat healthier (cue the superhero theme music), my 7-year-old daughter opted for grilled cheese and apple slices instead of fries. I mean, I didn't know whether to be impressed or start planning her future TED Talk on healthy eating! Meanwhile, my son stuck to the classic burger and fries. He's definitely a work in progress--bless his heart! And let's not forget the service at Spotted Dog; it's top-notch! This was our second visit in a week, and I swear the staff recognized us like we were regulars on a sitcom. The service was even better the second time--like they were competing for a Michelin star or something! All in all, I had a fantastic time and can't wait to return next week. Probably won't ever go here again, but it was OK, overall. We were hanging out with (vegan) friends in Chapel Hill and they wanted to get (a very early) dinner. We headed over to Spotted Dog, which is very veggie friendly, around 4:30p on a Saturday and I thought the interior was adorable. Love all the vintagey salt/pepper shakers, as well as the photos/art on the walls. Our friends ordered vegan BBQ sandwiches with fries, Jay ordered some kind of Mahi Mahi tacos from the dinner menu and I asked for the Spicy Chicken Fried Rice (with legit chicken, please), also from the dinner menu. Our waitress came back and informed us that because it wasn't yet 5p, my option was unavailable. I guess the dinner chef wasn't there? Jay's dinner menu option, was mysteriously OK to get. The waitress offered me my same meal, only with pasta instead of rice. This lead to me believe that whatever chef we were waiting on was the only one capable of cooking rice. This was totally confusing, and not wanting to hold up the rest of the group, I went with your basic cheeseburger and french fries. My burger was edible and NOT the size of my head, which I appreciated. The sides came in pretty meager portions, but whatever. Jay enjoyed his tacos, and our friends clearly enjoyed their faux-BBQ. This place is pretty sweet. I love the veggie burger and bumpy chicken salad. If you're there for lunch try the tempeh Reuben. The tempeh is different from what I'm used too but still good. I do wish they were more generous with their dressing for salads. I have to ask for more four times to get through the salad. Waitstaff is cool. A lot of old timers. It's cramped in there so I always try to get a booth so I don't trip anyone walking down the aisle. I would love to see some specials since I've gone through the menu and would like to try some new items. read more

I had dinner here recently. The food was fantastic. I was with a friend and we were not on a date. I think the waitress thought we were and basically left us for extended lengths of time. The restaurant was not busy so there was no else to wait on. What could have taken about an hour for dinner took almost two hours because of her not getting back to us with any interest in how we were doing or the check. read more

The bartender tonight 2/29/20 was a dick! The restaurant is open til midnight on Saturday night but when he came in we said we were hungry and he said "you got 5 min to order if you want to eat" we said "oh thought it was open til midnight?" He walked away saying "if you can order in 5 minutes". Who acts like that? We left - nobody wants to be treated like crap. read more

Worst service for not great food. Arrived, easy to be seated because they weren't busy, but it took 30 minutes to order ,40 minutes to get our food. 10 minutes to eat our food. And now 25 minutes to get our bill and still have not been able to pay. Food wasn't great and nothing special. Never coming back here. read more

Great food and service but given the unfair towing policy (poor signage and $400+ same day towing fees), it's not worth the hassle. I feel that this establishment, as well as other neighboring businesses, should warn patrons of these draconian town policies. read more
