I have to commend Reggie and team for providing the food for my Dad's 81st birthday. Reggie was so patient with me as I was trying to figure out exactly what I needed for 11 adults and 4 kiddos. Picked it up today and the guys there brought it all out to my car. The food was amazing and everyone had 2nds and 3rds! Had a lot of veggies leftover (thank you for the extras, Reggie!!) so shared them with the neighbors. The meat??? Only enough to divvy up the leftovers between the fam. Free hot rolls every 15 minutes are brought to your table. They are delicious. The lean beef brisket is great. We frequent this location vs. Dickey's, up the road on Preston as we like the barbecue more here than there. I stepped into this barbecue joint for lunch with a friend and was not disappointed. For $9.99, you had your choice of meat (brisket, sausage links, chicken wings, and more) plus unlimited sides. Spring Creek barbecue is some of the best around, have many locations. This location walk inside went to the to go counter to place a family or but no one would help me. Waited for for five minutes had a couple people say I'll be right with you sir. But no one would help me I waited another four or five minutes and another person said I'll be right with you sir but no one ever helped me. I turned and looked at the gentleman who was also waiting in line behind me with a fed up look on my face told him good luck and left and went to the next barbecue restaurant down the street, not like there's one every 5000 feet in Frisco. Once was excellent, not so now. Two months ago about 2PM on a Sunday: Lots of dirty tables, someone had dropped their plate of food on the floor that was not cleaned up the entire time we were there. Employees did not seem happy to be working. Tuesday 09/27/16 at 3PM; it appeared only one employee was working, well it was 3PM. Between both serving and working the register he never washed his hands. He sneezed into his hand, wiped his nose with it, then wiped it on his apron. We left and will not go back until we see this location is under new management! What a shame, it was so good when they first opened. :-( read more

IF I could give them a 0 I would! I am angry, disgusted, and grateful all at the same time. Tonight, I planned on having one of their chopped beef sandwiches before my big New Year's Revolution diet starts. When I unwrapped my sandwich, I immediately saw something, that did NOT look like fat, dangling off the side of my sandwich. I pulled the long squishy thing out of my sandwich and grew nauseated from the squishy feel and sight of it! It looked and felt like some type of worm/parasite! I thank God for me spotting it! Came in on a Sunday night with my BOGO Rib DInner coupon. Son and I got the ribs while my wife ordered the Sausage/Brisket Dinner. Each comes with 2 serve yourself sides - so I got baked beans and a heaping order of the flat green beans you find only at BBQ restaurants. Ribs were great - smoky flavored and meaty enough that they don;t just slide off the bone. Perfect. Sauce is very flavorful too. Wife loved the brisket but couldn't eat her sausage. Tasted boiled like from the grocery store. Staff walking around and handing out hot fresh yeast rolls is a huge bonus. Tables were being bussed well and place was clean. Good place. read more

Some personal observations for Spring Creek BBQ (for any location): 1) Portions vary wildly depending on who's cutting the ribs. 2) The best thing here are the fresh bread (unlimited). 3) Only worth going when you have the coupon, which gives you an extra free dinner, so you only pay for 1 for 2 portions. read more

Thought I would give a different bbq joint a try, was not impressed. The menu was a little confusing, the food so so. Staff was very polite and friendly. The warm rolls were the best thing there. We have been going to Spring Creek BBQ in Frisco for many years & it has slowly gotten worse. We went last night and first off it was not clean. Tables & chairs were not very clean, which IMO this should be very clean after a pandemic when germ issues are more of a concern. Tables around us were not bussed. The line of workers on the food line were all kids, the only 2 adults I saw working were the one ringing up the food and the bread lady. I ordered a baked potato and it had MAYBE a teaspoon of each item I wanted on it. Basically it was just a potato. I used to get the chopper (potato with fixings & meat) and it would be overflowing- NOT at all the case now. The meat with 2 sides, for a whopping 17.95, had WAY less meat on it than in the past. The meat was pink vs being BBQed (brown). And ALL of the sides looked and tasted at least a few days old. The Mac & cheese was sticky and clumpy, we didn't even eat it, the corn on the cob was so old and overcooked it was like plastic. I'm just shocked at HOW bad the food and pricing was. The pricing has definitely gone up and quality & quantity of food has gone way down. This used to be one of our favorite places. The last 3 times we've been it's just gotten worse & worse. After last night I don't think we will go back. read more

We've been going to this restaurant for about 5 years because of the wonderful ribs and green beans, but last week was the last time. Why? Well, let me start by saying that the place has gotten really dirty. The entry door, both inside and out, bears the marks of many greasy hands and to remove the caked on buildup someone will need to scrape it off with a tool. The bathroom doors are just as filthy. I don't think anyone ever cleans those. In the bathroom there is water damage in the ceiling causing the paint to peel and the faucets are green with corrosion. I didn't even go into the stalls to use the bathroom. I've been to gas station bathrooms much cleaner that these. Now to the food. We've always loved their ribs, bread, and green beans. The ribs and bread are still great, but during my last three visits the green beans were so salty that I had to switch to corn on the cob. My ribs were tasty, but my husband's were mostly bones with a thin layer of meat. Neither of us are picky eaters at all, but we've seen the decline and have simply decided to go elsewhere from now on. Sad, really, because it would be so easy to fix. read more

I can not believe what I saw at this Spring Creek BBQ in Frisco Tx on Preston Rd. I was choosing some purple onion to have with my BBQ sandwich and the more I dug to the bottom of the container looking for fresh pieces the more rotting and decayed onion I found. I thought I was seeing things. The bottom of the bowl that was holding the onions was saturated with rotting onion pieces. It looked like they never clean this out? So, I asked the man behind the counter if they had any fresh onions and he asked me what is wrong with those in the front and I told him they are old I want fresh onion. He then reached under the counter and pulled out a plate with onion on it for me to take. These onions were not rotted but you could tell they were not fresh. He then pulled to container of old onions from the front and started pulling the rotted pieces out of the container. I can't relive he was not even cleaning the bottom full of brown liquid from the rotted onion. YUCK VERY YUCK They just keep piling onions on top WOW. That was very gross to say the least. These employees are not educated or informed about food sanitation and the rules and regulations per the Health Dept. My husband and I paid $27 and some change and we are tired of getting ripped off so Spring Creek BBQ in Frisco again. read more

I was very disappointed in the way that we were treated when we first walked in. An Asian make was throwing things around and acting very obnoxious towards the customers. In addition he was being very rude to one of his fellow workers like it was an inconvenience for him to answer her question concerning the sweet tea. No matter what location I go to , the building and the food is the same, great!. Very good ribs. Fall if the bone, tender and juicy. Sauce was sweet and a little spicy. The environment is great for kids. Mac and cheese was hot and fresh. The bread was abundant and hot. Potato salad was good. Only complaint was that the corn on the cob was a bit mushy, but the kid loved that as he us still cutting teeth. This is a popular place. We recently moved here from Austin, and we received a coupon for "buy one rib dinner, get one free" at Spring Creek. So, we figured we'd try it out last week. The food is served cafeteria style, you go down the line and pick your sides. My husband and I both got the rib plate- and the portion size was pretty good. They let you choose as many vegetables you can fit on your plate- which is pretty cool, especially if you wanna try several. I got green beans, macaroni & cheese, and "baked" beans. (I say "baked beans" because I couldn't quite figure out what kind they were). I had sweet tea to drink- it tasted fresh, not like some places where it's obvious the tea has been sitting for awhile- yuck! Green beans were yummy, the macaroni lacked any real flavor like others have said, the "baked" beans were a little sweet, mostly smokey flavor- interesting. The fresh baked rolls they bring out are REALLY tasty! They're hot, buttery, and soft. Mmmmm. I had to stop myself because I'm a major carb-aholic. The ribs were really good, they had a decent amount of meat on them and I really liked their BBQ sauce (it's more of a smokey sweet flavor). After dinner we tried the peach cobbler with bluebell vanilla- wasn't the best peach cobbler ever, but satisfied my sweet tooth. I come here for the protein after my workout at 24 Hour Fitness since you can walk across the parking lot to get here. Only half of that statement is actually true... I come here for the BBQ baked potato. Lots of brisket, butter, cheese, and bacon goodness! The staff here is usually pretty good, but the free rolls seem to come out slower and slower. I worked at the original Spring Creek BBQ in 1980 off of HWY 75 in Richardson. They have kept the food very consistent over the years and I still eat there from time to time. Terrible service. The manager, Hayden, served me. When I asked for a separate plate for my beans, he said he would have to charge me for an additional side. But I already ordered a dish with 2 sides. I didn't want to pay a 3rd side. I just didn't want my beans to get my bread on my plate soggy. "Sorry, those are the rules. You have to pay for an extra side again." My husband and I went to Spring Creek last night for dinner. We were there around 7:30PM and it wasn't that crowded. The line wasn't that long but it too FOREVER to get to where you place your order. Once we finally were able to place our order they were out of ribs, pulled pork and chicken. What!!!! Wait, its not even 8PM and they are telling us they ran out at 7PM. Not acceptable. I just went to order takeout inside, have done many times by phone waiting in my car, but this time I ordered inside. What I saw shook me to my core. 4 or 5 folks behind the food counter preparing my take out and one person was wearing their mask below their nose. Needless to say, I won't be ordering takeout from Spring Creek during this pandemic and quite frankly will likely not order from anywhere. A shame for the struggling restaurant industry which I have tried to support. But these team members are in the age group where they can be asymptotic carriers and spreaders. If they don't realize the health of America is their hands, literally, than I have decided to do all my cooking from here on out. If this can happen in one restaurant, it can happen anywhere. Really good beef and ribs with ok, perhaps more pedestrian side dish offerings. I have to confess though that they steal my carb-lovin heart with their ridiculously delicious dinner rolls. They're crafty about it too...hot out of the oven every 15 min or so, they're put in an inviting basket and offered to each table in turn so that you always experience a fresh and perfectly soft first swoonworthy bite.
