Great place to have dinner, few drinks and some laugh's with comedy show and to top it off amazing service.

By far the best Bloody Mary I have ever had in my life, which, although its none of your business, has already been quite long. The bartender was Janette and she was friendly and willing to share her recipe, but only in a vague sense, but after the second one, who cares? They also had a South-African pastry that rhymes with Mimosa that was filled with meat and was out of this world. I'd highly recommend it, even if I was sober. read more

I give this a solid three. Food The food is good. The South African cuisine is 'authentic' North-Americanized South African. I am a bit disappointed because I had certain expectations about the Boerewors and peri-peri sauce. I used to eat these all the time, and was looking forward to the spiciness that make the sausage and the sauce world famous. However, it is California, so perhaps the owner is accommodating to local tastes. Service I agree with a number of the posts. This is definitely not 5 Yelp star service. I think the staff is regularly short staffed so they can disappear for a while. Ambiance It is dark, in terms of lighting and its worn dark wood interior. This gives it a dingy and "divey" atmosphere. On the other hand, it does have an outdoor patio area. Although the patio faces the busy Victory Blvd, I still appreciate that option. read more

I have been to the "Bok" several times and can honestly say that I really dig this place! The food is great and the beer is ice-cold. The service hasn't been consistent for months now. Sometimes it's great and other times really slow, but the food makes up for the wait. If you are looking for good food, cold beer and a good game on TV, this is definitely a must visit. read more

One of the best local bars in The Valley, great place to hang out with friends and enjoy UFC fights or football game. The food is delicious and the staff is very nice and attentive. I had probably one of the worst pub experience here. They charged me 100 for 5 drinks bc they were confused about bc my "friend" said put it all together. When he meant my drinks on his card. None of that should have costed 100 dollars. I came back and I told them to charge me 30 for the 3 shots I took myself paid the 30 got my card back. I got pretty blasted that night which was weird I normally don't from tequila. The next day I checked my bank statement and they charged me that 100! I called they said the refund should show up within 48hrs. That was Thursday night it's Sunday morning and no refund! What shitty place to take advantage of a drunk 21 yr old! I'll give a call at 11 either way still inexcusable. read more

Came here with a restaurant.com certificate and was quite impressed. Great service & a tasty variety of international foods in a cool dive bar environment. Loved their homemade chips, Philly cheesesteak & filet mignon sandwiches. Overall, happy we found this place... Will definitely be a regular spot for our late-night munchies. read more

I love this place! Not only does it have a nice bar and great food, but more importantly they have a full comedy club in the back! This place has been my favorite, especially for Happy Hour. But, alas! No more. They have jacked up the cost of drink, Lemon Drop to be exact, by three friggin' dollars! And they had removed a lot of imported beer from the drink menu as well. Good and services are still good, but this day and age of bar options being abundant I will probably choose to go try out somewhere different from now on. read more

Don't go to Springbok Bar. Not even one South African beer. A below normal burger and no SA sport on their TV'S anymore. Asked the waiter if they show any Rugby live when there's a game and she said not anymore. And it's all Americans staff that knows nothing about South Africa. Only sign of South Africa is the Rugby memorabilia on the walls. But that's as much South African as it gets. I already warned my SA friends not to go there. Drove really far to support them but now I'll never go back. Very disappointed. read more

Quick review.. Seems like it's a nice little spot to hang. Small outdoor section and a decent size inside. It's like a mini bw3. Didn't have a meal but I had the garlic fries which were pretty good..the fries on the bottom were pretty greasy from sitting in the oil though and the garlic is no joke. I also had one wing (lol) my only complaint about the wing was it was very salty. $5 for a short domestic and $8 for a crown on the rocks gives you an idea what the drink prices are like. The staff was overall pretty nice..service outside was kinda slow. I wouldn't mind going back again to hang and check out the food! read more

Meh. It was OK. Not stellar. I went there to watch the Duke/West Virginia game...it didn't have a very energetic drive, and for the number of TV's around you'd have thought it'd be more of a sports bar feeling? Springbok is a decent place to go in the valley for some food and a beer. The food is actually way better than I expected, I had a Kobe burger that was actually cooked medium rare like I asked. The fries were really good too and my friend seemed to like his wings judging his silence as he stuffed his face. Seating is rough, and the main room where most of the seats are is always blaring music, too loud to really talk. Also there is other music playing in the bar area and TVs going at the same time. So it gets knocked for that. Otherwise not a bad spot, I mean where else are you going to go in van nuys? read more

I don't know if there's a better place in town where you can enjoy a fine meal and grab a drink while you watch the Lakers pummel inferior opponents. I have been a loyal patron for 4+ years. They have tons of beers on tap, not to mention this cool over-sized pitcher with ice cubes housed down the center to keep your beer chilled while you drink. Some of my favorites include the samosas, calamari, buffalo wings, chicken philly cheese sandwich, fries and the rib-eye. Rocky (bar manager) always greet me when I walk in. If you want a drink and a great meal while you watch the Lakers or Dodgers, I wouldn't think twice about hitting the Springbok. Enjoy! read more

Randomly stopped in here with the bf. Mixed feelings about this spot. I'm still not sure if this is one of those places where you seat yourself or not. When we walked in no one was there to greet us or show us to a table so we stood around until a guy came out and we told him we were just gonna grab a table. Table was sticky (gross!) Food was good. I got wings & fries, Bf got the "kobe style" burger & he liked it. I ordered a dozen wings but they only gave me 11. Idk what made me count them but yup, only 11. Maybe someone in the back got hungry? Lol Idk but i noticed right before we paid and i didnt feel like making a big deal out of 1 wing. Always a great experience here. The wings are phenomenal, the filet mignon sandwich is phenomenal as is the philly. Let's just say I haven't had a bad thing here. I come here a couple of times a month and it's one of my favorite places in the valley. It doesn't look like much, but the food is great. My girlfriend loves the chicken sosaties, but my favorites are the filet steak sandwich and the grilled salmon. I have tried most of the items on the menu, and the only thing that was disappointing was the schnitzel. The meat was only OK and the side of broccoli and carrots looked pale dried out. It wasn't terrible, just not great. This is a really cool place to come have a drink with your friends. There is plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating and the service is excellent. This place can get busy, but never seems to get crowded to the point where you can't get a drink; unlike many, many other LA bars. read more
