After my car was rear ended, I was sent to Springfield Auto Body for repairs by my insurance company since it was a preferred shop. I was really happy with the service I received and repairs made to my vehicle. The repairs took longer than initially estimated, but the shop communicated with me about the changes often and took the time to explain everything really well. They also were very helpful in making sure the rental car company I used knew about extensions to the vehicle repair time so I didn't have to constantly call them. I also was able to drop my rental car off there for the company to pick it up, which was convenient and saved me an extra trip in the rental car company's shuttle van. I had crashed into a guardrail during a recent snowstorm and was due for a state inspection this month. I took it to get inspected two days later and it failed due to the damage to one headlight and how clouded both headlights were. I started a claim with my insurance and googled which nearby autobody shops work with my insurance. I had never had to handle the aftermath of a crash on my own before, so I feel incredibly lucky to have found Springfield Auto Body Inc. All I typed into google was "usaa auto body shops near springfield, VA" and it was the first of the non-sponsored results that was closeby. I was able to drop off my car the following monday, since I had initially called right before closing over the weekend. They worked out to have Enterprise pick me up directly from their auto body shop to get me over to a rental car. They inspected the car and determined there was more damage than what the insurance could see just from the exterior pictures I had sent. Due to the needed parts, it took a little for them to arrive, but on the following monday or tuesday, they did, and that wednesday I was able to find out the car would be fixed by friday when I would get off work! They kept me updated about the work's estimated completion time and final reassembly/inspection. When I arrived, I could see a clear difference in how clear and shiny the affected headlight was and the nice paint job surrounding it. I asked if it was possible to make the unaffected headlight shiny, too, even if out of pocket since it's not related to the crash, and they did it for free! Now they match! If I have any more issues with my car, I know where to take it now. They also recommended a nearby place for redoing the state inspection since the lines can get long on the last day of the month, so I could make it before the inspection closing time. Lo and behold, I was the final car allowed for inspection before closing, and my car passed! It's a huge relief for me, and I am incredibly grateful for the quality of the work the Springfield Auto Body shop did. Thank you! read more

I brought in my car to get it fixed from an accident and they did NOT do a good job. We had to take it back because we noticed they hadn't fixed it right and RICHARD shouldnt be in the customer service department because of his arrogant attitude towards customers. He kept pointing out that our car was not a "luxury vehicle, a Ferrari or a bentley" so it wasnt going to be 100% done right. He kept arguing back and forth with me which is unprofessional so what im getting from this shop is that if you dont own a luxury vehicle you shouldnt bring it here. RICHARD isnt nothing but another front desk guy wanting to act like the owner with his know it all self. Please take your business elsewhere and away from Richard or else youll leave disappointed. After having to bring it TWICE they still didnt fix it right. They don't value their customers at all. read more

My car was parked in the street in front of my house (on a dead end) and got hit by a FedX truck. FedX handled it fairly okay, and I took it through Springfield Auto Body for repairs ... Richard answered my call and was fantastic through the entire process. I am a texting kind of gal and he was happy to use my preferred method of communication to keep me appraised of the progress. It took quite a bit of time, three weeks from the hit until I picked up the repaired car, but that wasn't through any fault with the shop -- just dealing with third party insurer and the damage, once Springfield Auto Body got the car opened, was a lot more extensive than it looked to the appraiser who swung by my house to see it. Most of the time was spent chasing additional approval for the higher cost. Richard arranged for the flat bed to come out to my house and pick it up, and played phone tag with the FedX Accident Center ... he made my life very easy. I was thrilled with the work when I finally got to pick my car up today, and it was spic and span inside and out, which was NOT what it was when I got hit. It had been long overdue for a bath and a vac. So that was nice. And with some extra touch up paint he got a few extraneous scratches taken care of. If I never need body work done again you can be sure I'll go through Springfield Auto Body. And even though I wasn't on the hook for any of it, I think the final cost was extremely reasonable for the amount of work done, just under $2400 for extensive damage to the front driver side quarter and door. read more

I was referred to Springfield Auto Body by another local mechanic. We have been having a terrible week and a particularly terrible morning when I called them. They were kind and told me they'd like to look at the light before flat out giving a price since my car is kind of a pain to replace light parts & we weren't sure if it's just a bulb or the entire thing that needed replaced. So we drove over and they were so friendly and quick to check it out! They saved us so much money! Turns out they were able to just replace the bulb. They didn't charge us, just asked us to tip their guy $20. We gladly did that! They turned a terrible morning/week around and we are thankful for that. We are now able to get hubs car inspected and avoid it getting towed again.We will definitely be referring others here and be back whenever our cars have an issue. I just so happen to have two different vehicles needing body work done for accidents and took them both here. Neither one was finished in the time specified by the shop. However I will just stick to the first one my 2006 Honda Civic Bumper cover replacement. They did a good job however, on the day I was scheduled to pick-up my car and return the rental NO ONE Called to tell me my car was not going to be done until the following day. NOPE, had to find this out by myself when i called to check on my car late that afternoon and was told it was not going to be ready because of an incorrect and damaged part they received. (Gee, Thanks for calling me and letting me know ahead of time.) I found this Highly annoying and so did the rental car company and the insurance company I had to call after i found out i would need to keep the rental an extra day. Front of my truck was messed up... My insurance company recommended Springfield Auto Body... They took care of the repairs flawlessly, timely and with a great attitude. They also offered a warranty on their work... ...So a few months later, when I had some issues with my engine, I took the truck back to them. They checked it out with me, and after some investigation, determined that it wasn't an actual engine problem, but my engine didn't have enough oil in it (due to a car manufacturer issue that has been documented)... I had been using this shop periodically over the past 30 years and enjoyed working with Jim Scott, the owner, at the old location nearby. I recently dealt with Richard and found him to be a know-it-all, not willing to listen to the customer, and extremely rude and arrogant. He continually argued with me and actually suggested I go elsewhere and I did. I brought my vehicle to a shop around the corner and got a no hassle repair that ended up doubling in cost from hidden damage. Luckily L&M worked everything out with my insurance, without need for my involvement, and did a great job. I will not use this shop again while Richard is employed there. read more

My 2017 VW GTI sustained some damage to the passenger-side headlamp and surrounding fender and bumper. Having used Springfield Auto Body before and having been very satisfied with the service, I took the car to them for repair. It took them a few days to order and receive the parts needed but they completed the work in a quick but very accurate and satisfactory fashion. Upon arriving to pick the car up I was greeted by not only a very expert repair, but the car exterior was clean and shiny and the interior looked better than it had for a long time. I recall from my few former visits for body work that the extra attention to the overall cleanliness and appearance of the whole vehicle was a common benefit of using Springfield Auto Body. At any rate, while I hope to have no more need for body work for awhile, I have no question where I will take the car if and when I do. I recently got into a hit and run car accident and found out that my insurance wouldn't cover it. Long story short, I took my Kia to Jeff at Springfield Auto on Alban road for an estimate. He estimated it would be close to $2000 for the damages. After the work was complete, which only took 2-3 days, Jeff called me back with good news. He found that they got the supplies and parts cheaper and saved me $500 and they did a GREAT job on my car. I needed some mechanical stuff, a new wheel and some body work. He just fixed the mechanical problems and fixed/secured my bumper. I don't have to get body work now annnnnd they washed my car. Springfield Auto didn't BS me on anything, didn't try to sell me or try and tell me that other stuff was broken like a lot of other mechanics usually do. They were cheap, fast and very effective. Let's see, I don't even know where to begin. I have brought 2 of my vehicles here as referred by insurance and the service is just downright horrible. The staff is rude and full of lies. I was estimated 2 weeks to repair the car but ended up taking over a month. My rental expired and was unable to get it extended. I kept getting the run around and was told my vehicle would be ready the next day...BS! The man said you don't want us to rush and do a bad job, do you? So I decided to drive by the shop and check on my car and what did I see? My car was STILL SITTING IN THE LOT with the damage! I have had the worst experience with this place and I'm fed up with them. Never going back again. read more

This is my first yelp review because I am so annoyed. We've used this shop twice. First time, no issue. Second time, all headaches. We had a rear end collision with our minivan, and the back lift gate needed to be replaced. It was being covered by insurance. After the initial repair was done, the alignment of the door was not quite right, and it needed multiple return trips to the shop. Although they were very friendly and helpful initially, as we needed more tweaking, they got much more unfriendly and ended up almost hostile. At the end, they said that there was no more they could do, even though the alignment was never perfect and the door does not open as far as it used to. This all happened in 2013. Fast forward to 2015. Last week, the hinges on the door started failing, hinges that they replaced. I took it to the dealer, and they said it was due to the prior work and that I needed an autobody shop. Sooo, back to Springfield we went. Now they are claiming that the new issue is not related to the work they did, and they are refusing to fix it. They claim something must have happened to cause the problem, which it did not, as evidenced by the fact that there is no other damage on the vehicle. Their new estimate to fix it is another $1200. I am off to a new shop, but I am very mad that they will not stand by their supposed lifetime warranty and own up to the fact that their work did not hold up. read more
