When I walked into this place, I was thinking to myself "Ew this place looks so tacky" lol. But the food and the service had me singing a different tune after we left. The menu is huge!! They serve everything from seafood to breakfast foods to Greek food! I have no idea how they do it all and do it so well! You get large portions for a reasonable price and the food comes out rather quickly. Our server was absolutely wonderful and attentive to all of us. Their deserts are supposed to be amazing as well, but I didn't get a chance to try them, which breaks my heart. You don't expect to do this good at a diner on a Friday night. This place was amazing. The wife got ribeye and scallops, I got a turkey dinner and it was way too good to come from a place like this. Amazed at how good it was. Portions were enormous as well. Our server, Brandon, was honestly one of the coolest servers I've ever dealt with, and that comes from someone who also serves for a living. I take my girls here often for pancakes on Saturdays. It's always crowded but they manage to get people seated very quickly. The food is a tad above average, but not by much. I could ask for a slightly larger portion when i get eggs and bacon. The staff is very friendly and it's still my home for Saturday morning pancakes for my girls. read more

Who can't melt the cheese in a grilled cheese sandwich? My cheese was only half melted. I also got a bowl of chili that looked like actual vomit, but thankfully was edible if I didn't look at it much. My party was seated at a table that was sticking out into the passageway, so I felt like I had to keep dodging waitstaff passing by the whole time. This diner is amazing. We eat their literally weekly. Often more than once in a week. They have the best French toast. The platter has 3 Texas sized pieces of egg and cinnamon drenched toast. The chicken parmigiana is delicious and provides enough leftovers for a second meal. The strawberry cheesecake and blueberry pie are so yummy I crave them. The prices are reasonable. The service is always good, and the food comes out fast and hot. However, when you order pancakes or French Toast, you are given single serving containers of syrup. This leaves your cakes/toast extremely dry, leaving you to ask for more. My waitress unfortunately mistook this for ordering 2 more pancakes. I've been going to Springfield Diner since it opened and always had great food and service. The past few times I went to the diner my experience was not well. Today, the food was just okay I suppose. I had breakfast foods and my toast seemed more to be bread with butter on it. The pancakes were great though! The breakfast sausage taste like a Christmas tree, always, so I refuse to get it anymore. My boyfriend got bacon today and it just did not taste right. We couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, it just didn't taste good. Also, the server was not all that great. She did not mention her name and it took a long time to get refills on drink orders, which was just water. Before we were seated, a customer had a complaint about the food he ordered, how it was wrong, looked bad and tasted bad. The manager said "no, there is nothing wrong with it, this is fine." My husband and I stopped by one night shortly after it opened to check it out and "support a local business". We were seated right away but no one came up to us for a good 15 minutes (the place was not busy at all). The people at the table next to us who were seated after us were served right away - were apparently waitress's friends or someone she knew as they chatted a lot. It's hard for me to write a review about the food. It was the first time that I came for dinner. The portions were huge and everything smelled delicious. However our party of five were seated directly next to a work station and where apparently EVERYONE walked by. The wait staff continued to bang into my chair and hit me on the back and head with platters of food. They carried platters over my head. OVER MY HEAD!!! HORRIBLE SERVICE! Dined in for the first time with 2 friends. Food was great and the server was okay. Got up to use the bathroom with my friend and the power went off. Peed in the dark with a flashlight on my phone. The server never came out to handle all of the confusion. Managers were speaking to everyone except for us. We were leaving and had a rude lady named "Addy/Abby" who was completely disrespectful yelling at us telling us we needed cash. We all had $2 in cash on us. She then yelled at us demanding to give her the card for my information to manually enter it. Not one person spoke to us. This was the absolute worst service I have EVER HAD! I assured her that I am in the food industry as well and it was not a good first impression for me. The customer service was a 0/10. Although the food was good, I would never come back here again. I will admit the food is good but the service is the worst. The waiters and waitress' rush you in and out and the managers love to talk bad and laugh about their guest behind their backs, which I find very rude being as though the guest are the reason why the diner is open. On three different occasions I saw the management staff actually arguing with the guest which is not at all how you handle business. If you want a quick meal this is the place to go but if you want to sit down and enjoy your meal without being rushed then this is not the place. They say they give senior discounts ( i had couple of seniors in my company) and when we went to pay, the guy said that one menu was special so they can't give discount, then the dish we had from the regular menu also doesn't apply.
